It is what it is folks. The staff are friendly and the selection is surprisingly large for a small rural town. I purchased lumber for a bed frame build for my wife and I as we upgraded to a family size bed. They had a great selection of hardware and had the lumber that we needed. Having said that I come from NC where we have massive pine trees, meaning that there is enough tree so that not every board has knots and bark edges. Here at MG I had to even sort through the 2x4s for 10 minutes to find some that didnt have several barks edges. Idk if its common to all supply houses here but for me I felt it was unusual. While it didnt bother me that they want to help load and take a picture of your load before you leave, it was kind of sad. It was sad because they have probably been stolen from enough or taken advantage of enough they felt they had to implement this policy. This is a small rural town in south Texas you would think it safer than that. Final words. It was worth it to me personally to shop here rather than drive 45 minutes to a Lowes or Home Depot in San Antonio pulling my trailer the whole way. Now if Lowes or Home Depot comes to Pleasanton I will more than likely shop there instead of MG.

I love MG and have been coming here since I was little but the only thing that I would suggest is that they should get the yard men a little golf cart or something because these workers have to run from one area of the yard to the other and they would help serve customers in a timely manner.

Fail. Was in town 3 weeks ago to repair my parents broken pipes from the freeze. Called MG and spoke to woman on the phone and asked if they had 3/4 PVC in 10 or 20 sticks. She placed me on hold to check. Came back and said we have 8 in stock. I loaded up the 80 year olds and made the trip in to town. Arrived and found they had none. Guy at counter said Heck we have been out since the freeze. Talent pool pretty shallow in Pleasanton.

Good service very helpful employees got everything for country living thats for sure septic tanks are cheaper there than anywhere else got a 1000 gallon with a divider for about a $700 try to get that anywhere else will be at least $1,000 or more..

Bought corrugated tin sheets. Very good price. Quick to be waited on friendly. Loaders were careful/respectful loading in my truck and quick friendly.

Were expanding a roof top over porch. We did not know MG Building Material delivered until we called and ask ! (Otherwise we would of taken several trips) Went inside ordered what we needed and mid week material was delivered by noon. Big truck pulled by our mail box. The driver brought in material with forklift to where we waited put down. We will have any material delivered from now on.Smaller fee than any other competitors.

Called and asked about 2 1/2 pvc water pipe, the lady said they had it. Drove 45 minutes to get it and the guy said NO they only had 2. What a waste of time.

Employees and some customers not wearing mask.When i called and spoke with management, they saidThey had medical excuse so i said they should wear a face shield.Till this day customers and employees are still not wearing proper equipment.

Lumber is not a very good quality its so warp and full of knots and its got more bark on it then the trees do

Great products! One person in there is probably the most rude person I have ever met! He treated my wife and I like we were dumb. He did the same thing with my mom, and on my way out I could hear him yelling at Arriving customers that they needed to stay back because of the limit to go into the store. Honestly can’t believe he is still employed there. Probably won’t return until he is gone.

63 year old blind woman needed her hot water heater replaced which *Mr. Gawlik*(recommended by MGs) did in a timely manner. However he tossed it off the side of her deck and it is currently laying on her deck / in her yard as she tries to sell the home. When asked if Mr. Gawlik was going to dispose of the old heater, or what she should do about it, Mr. Gawlik responded that his ***wife would yell at him if he took it.*** - Unhappy in Pleasanton

This is a great location for hardware and building supplies. Its as extensive as the big box stores. Have inventory of building supplies. Plus theyre super nice.

Excellent service and selection of different accessories and tools inside.Only complaint is the Gestapo type over the edge security of the lumber yard we had purchased one fence picket today and they walked it to our vehicle and even loaded it and they stopped us at the gate and rudely demanded for the recipet and we had shown them the recipet and the fence picket and then they demanded to look inside of our tonneau cover on the truck and take pictures of the vehicle and its just routine scenario for buying lumber he says. That will definitely be my last experience buying lumber. Went from trying to help out a fellow senior citizen customer of ours out to being treated rudely. And they had a ridiculous line of people getting pictures of there cars taken as well of other people. Its Texas people what happened to hanging a thief, problem solved.

I went into the MG in Pleasanton, Tx today (June 18, 2019) to return a $20.00 Perky Pet mason jar style hummingbird feeder. This particular feeder has a metal bottom, that upon my very first washing (before use in feeding) oxidized along the underside of every feeding port. I had the original purchase receipt, as well as the tag that comes attached to the item when purchasing (UPC barcode tag). Tammy was initially processing my return, then called Tim over. Tim looked the part over, and proceeded to tell me that it was chrome, and wasnt going to be shiney all the time. He also said he didnt even see any oxidation ( Tammy then pointed directly to the quite obvious white oxidation). I told him that shine was not the issue, it was oxidation where the nectar was going to be, and that if he needed additional visual evidence, I would be just fine with walking right over to the display, getting one down, to show him the difference between brand new, and oxidized. He walked away 2 times, going to the otherside of the counter. He said he was going to get a second opinion. He then told me he would do an exchange. I said no, that I would be receiving a refund, as I have everything required to do so. He walked away one last time, came back, and told me it would be a one time return. He absolutely was treating me as if I was trying to get one over on them, or doing something wrong. As if my husband and I dont shop there regularly. As if he was doing me a favor. How completely unprofessional. How incredibly ridiculous, that such a simple return, be made out to be such a big deal. If Tim is a member of management, perhaps MG needs to take another look at training techniques.
