Ordered parts a week ago. Have not received one email from them. Have tried calling during business hours and get nothing but an answering machine for both sales and shipping departments.Update: spoke with someone today. He was able to look up my info by phone number. Sent a tracking number and found it was delivered today. Overall happy I got my parts but I believe there could be some better communication.

Shipping option said UPS GROUND. I paid for that, which is 1-5 days for delivery. East Marine LLC shipped the item USPS, and it took 8 days to get to me.When I pointed this out, they said what I paid wouldnt cover the cost of UPS Ground, so they shipped it USPS.Apparently they dont even know how to calculate shipping costs. Then they are incredibly rude when you point it out to them.If you have a drop down to select different shipping methods, maybe you should actually ship it by the method that was selected.Will never order from this place again. Thinking maybe it changed hands in the past few years. It used to be ok.

If you dont want a headache dont bother with these people. Place an order never heard when would item ship, emails want unanswered, phone them and I was told it will be shipped the the following day, waited the entire day for tracking number and it never happen. Called them again phone want unanswered along with emails. finally called Paypal requested my money back they contacted them and my money was return but not after receiving a threatening email from them that they will be reporting me to my local police for fraud. How stupid these people can be. Stay away.
As an ostensibly authorized U.S. parts supplier for Nissan/Tohatsu marine products, I am both surprised and saddened by the complete lack of customer service provided by East Marine, LLC.I have spent $60 so far just trying to get a replacement fuel tank cap for my 3.5 HP Tohatsu outboard motor. Their website is very difficult to navigate when it comes to finding parts, and the sales department was absolutely unhelpful when I called to request assistance in finding the right part.When I asked about their return policy to return the latest cap that didnt fit, I was just told ship it back to us. Later I found the return policy on their website which says a return authorization is required. When clicking the link to complete the Return Authorization form, the page failed to load.I subsequently filled out a parts request form and sent an email (via their website) asking for assistance in finding the right part, and immediately received a rude email reply that started with, We already told you on the phone, most likely you have aftermarket fuel tank, oem caps wont fit...When I replied that I had no reason to believe that the tank was aftermarket, and asked them to simply respond with the correct part number (giving them the model and serial number of my outboard motor), I received the following reply:So you write bad review on the Facebook and then asking for help even after we told you 2 times already that oem parts WILL NOT FIT your aftermarket fuel tank? What kind of person are u?! unbelievable. Please never write anything to us again.go write some more bad reviews, maybe you will feel better, cause it looks like you have such a big satisfaction after doing it. Instead of realizing that we have nothing to do with your motor or your aftermarket parts or mistakes that you make.Absolutely staggeringly poor custom service.
I made a purchase that was mailed priority and still hasnt reached me. Spoke to sImeone at East Marine and they said it wasnt their problem i needed to contact postal service myself. Very sorry attitude. No more purchases from them

Not sure about this organization, They had a good price on a trolling motor and I tried to order one. Three days after placing the order they informed they would not be able to ship the order and canceled it. I suggest you not waste your time with these guys.

Im in the Boston area and Ive placed several online orders through their website tohatsu.us -- their online ordering system is the most convenient Ive seen (no order request forms -- just buy online!) offers the best prices (same or better than Amazon) the widest selection (need a steering friction bolt for 2014 9.8 Tohatsu 4-stroke with manual start? No problem) and the most reasonable (you mean I can actually buy just two $0.99 gaskets instead of a whole pack of 12? Sweet...) AND their order fulfillment is crazy fast. Now some commenters have noted that they are hard to reach by phone, but all I can say is that theyre very responsive via email. All in all, most recommended.

UPDATE...East Marine did contact me via email and I do have an RMA now. Not sure why I received this particular email but not the original one referencing the RMA. Im changing my review from 1 star to 4 stars while the return is being processed. I would like to thank East Marine for contacting me regarding this issue and not just writing me off...Needed to return an item and emailed the company two weeks ago for an RMA...no reply. Emailed them again the following week for an RMA and followed up by leaving a voice message...no reply. I have called their published phone number at least ten times a day this past week and not once did I get someone to answer the phone or return my call. Im glad I did not make a large purchase with this company. I will never do business with them again.Also, before anyone places an order on their website, try giving them a call for customer service and see how you like that experience.
I ordered a hitch from these guys. They canceled my order because they mis-advertised the shipping cost. Representative was very accusatory toward me saying I took advantage of the system. Very poor customer service and would not recommend this company.
