Great music store in Pooler. We wanted to stay all day listening to the amazing artists that popped in and out to try and buy instruments. Andy took the time to give my 11yr old an excellent guitar stringing lesson. Youll find genuine music lovers and good humans here.

Downbeat is a great music store. I decided at 62 to take up the guitar, Josh has been an amazingly patient instructor. He is proving you can teach an old dog new tricks. I usually arrive early, shop around and talk with Andy the owner. Andy gave my new electric guitar an incredible set up and sold me a great amp. Downbeat is more than a store it’s a great place to discover your inner musician.

Andy, the owner, is awesome and he has great teachers,(Haley) my violin teacher! Great one on one experiences! I highly recommend Downbeat Music Center!

Absolutely incredible service. Came in just to get a pickup switch cap, stayed for around an hour to talk. Andy, the owner, is incredibly friendly and welcoming. You feel comfortable as soon as you walk into the store.

Possibly the coolest music store I have had the pleasure of walking into. The man behind the desk was one of the nicest employees I’ve ever met. He was cool with me and my friends playing some instruments, and he even turned on some music when he noticed I was looking at some CDs. This is my absolute favorite music store and I will be coming back.

I went to Downbeat with an acoustic guitar that didn’t play well anymore. The man fixed my guitar for a great price, and it plays better than ever. Over all their repairs are at a great price. Their guitars are very well priced. They also do guitar lessons. Highly recommended!!

Purchased the Paul Reed Smith MT-15 head/cab. They actually allowed me in prior to their opening so I could play it. Andy hung around and talked to me a little bit about everything, an experience you will not get at one of these big box stores. There has never been a better, more important time to support your local music stores. Go see Andy and keep the dream alive. Ill be making the hour+ drive from now on.

Andy was awesome! He helped pick out a cool loop pedal and hooked me up with some sweet DAddario XT coated acoustic guitar strings. I will definitely be going to Downbeat music center for all my guitar needs!

Went by today to get new strings and tuning for my mandolin. I was prepared to leave the instrument and come back another day, but since I had driven 45 minutes to the store Andy went ahead and completed the service on the spot to save me another trip. As I’ve never played an instrument my life, Andy went out of his way to explain a few things to me. Small shop with personalized customer service. Happy to know I could take lessons there if needed.

Andys shop has a nice selection of equipment and supplies for players of guitar, bass, or drums. You can buy, sell, trade equipment, Andy specializes in set-up of Gibson and Fender guitars, repairs of most types of electric guitars, or even special order you something he might not have on hand. A friend turned me on to Downbeat Music Center earlier this year and now its my new Go-To for gear.

This place is the most dope music shop ive been into so far. The dude is awesome. My ukelele and my road dogs guitar are absolutely perfect. 10/10 would go again. If you are looking for a hole in the wall kind of place, this is it! If in Georgia, go here. Its worth it.

Fantastic music store! A hidden gem to be sure. And they sell band instruments! Just purchased a trombone for my son from Andrew and I couldnt be happier with it. I had been renting my sons instrument from another store (as set up by his school) and was tired of throwing money down the drain. I looked to purchase it from that same store and the price was outrageous. I Looked at Amazon but I was afraid to buy from an unknown.I Found Downbeat music on Facebook and decided to stop in. The owner was super friendly and very helpful. He sold me a brand new high quality trombone for a really great price. Honestly its every bit as good as the one I looked at in the other store (Portmans) but at only a fraction of the price. I honestly couldnt tell the difference between the one I bought and the MUCH more expensive one that Portmans wanted to sell me. I felt very comfortable buying this instrument from Andrew. Hes the real deal.So if you have a child in band and youre looking to buy them a new instrument I highly recommend Downbeat music.

Absolutely love this store. Walked into it to get our Epiphone string restrung, and Andy not only waited on us to get there instead of closing up shop but when we came in, it was apparent that we had come to the right place for all our guitar needs. Not only did we get our guitar redone but we found my dream guitar as well (Fender Starcaster!) in pristine condition. Andy has been super helpful, got our specialty pegs ordered for the Epiphone, and at pick up we got a Dragonfire Pickup Mirror Guard for the Fender. Not only did he do an AMAZING job with the installation but it’s been super affordable. The atmosphere here is always filled with good vibes and we always get caught up in good conversation. If you’re looking for good work, a friendly owner (who also is a great music teacher) and can answer any and all questions in regards to all thing guitars, this is the place for you. This is the only place I’ll do my music business with from here on out!
