John Roberts of Light Ideas in Port Charlotte has been my go to person for lighting since I arrived in Punta Gorda in 2004. Hes always up on the latest trends in lighting but carries a mix of products to cater to every taste and budget. Looking for the bulb that goes in a fixture or fan? Johns the man there also. Were in the process of remodelling a condo in Sarasota and Im still going back to John. Hes like family. My taste is contemporary. Here are some LED fixtures Im looking at.

Never got all the stuff I ordered. Never got an apology. Just an excuse, items went to the wrong place. No attempt to get me something else. They just didnt care. Never going back. ■■■■ I have no glue when the 3 lights came in because after months of waiting for them I got my money back. They were still not in at that point. So I could finish my project. Your company should have been keeping me updated. Im the one who kept checking in on updates. One of your employees said he would call me back with an update and never did. In my opinion thats not the way to do business. I do like how you made it look like the lights were in and I refused them. Thats not what happened.

My order was mishandled from beginning to end. As a result, I did not receive the product for weeks beyond what I was originally told. Light Ideas failed to keep me advised of the status of my order forcing me to continually check with them. Each time I called the store, I was given a different reason why the product was delayed. Finally when the product did come in, it was not equipped with the proper bulbs I had ordered. When I brought the discrepancy to the attention of Light Ideas, they resisted correcting the problem. It would have been very easy for them to resolve the issue, but they chose not to do so. I will not be doing any business with them in the future. I have had far better experiences with other lighting retailers, and their pricing is a lot better than Light Ideas.

We are building a home in Rotonda West and have been in contact multiple times with Gary Grana, he is outstanding to work with and very knowledgeable. We have made many changes back and forth and he worked with us to complete our package that will look stunning in our new home. He has responded almost immediately each time. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Working with Donovan at Light Ideas turned something I’d been dreading, into something enjoyable and enlightening. Moving from the desert southwest to Florida is a big change decor-wise. Donovan helped us select pieces that reflect our ideas of a Coastal home. I’d choose Lifht Ideas again and again!

Light Ideas is a terrific local business. I have purchased numerous lighting fixtures and ceiling fans from them over the past 3 years and their customer service is second to none. If I spot a product Im interested in on an E-tail site, I always call Light Ideas and they can always match and often beat the price. I would MUCH rather support a local business, such as Light Ideas, who gives back to our community, than I would a major E-tailer.

Great to do business with for all Lighting & Fan requirements. Knowledgeable, helpful, responsive, and competitive. Excellent after-sales response to a problem we were experiencing with one of our fan controls.

In 2018 we bought Toltec light fixtures for 4 rooms (dining room, foyer, kitchen work island and kitchen dining nook). The Lite Ideas sales people were very helpful. We recently have moved back to the Florida east coast and wanted to add a similar set of Toltec lights in our new house. Unfortunately there was not a local lighting store that carried Toltec so we used the internet to make our purchases. We made a mistake on the height of our foyer and ordered a hanging fixture that is too low. Since we had such good luck with the Port Charlotte store I decided to call them to ask if they could help. Gary was very helpful in ordering a flush mount fixture that matches up with our 16” globe.

All sales people were kind, friendly and did not push for a sale. Only because I kept looking (so much to see) I found the bargain of a lifetime and purchased a very unique light fixture. This place is great!!!

We came to Light ideas for the second time to order new lights and fans for our new build.My husband and I showed up in the show room at 3:45 PM knowing the store closed at 5P but just thought we would get more ideas,no real intention to purchase that day just look and get ideas.Donovan was superior and patient ..We ended up ordering all lights and fans for our new home.Donovan spent time with us let us change our mind a couple of times and offered good advise.I would highly recommend Light Ideas,there are plenty of lighting stores in Sarasota,Port Charlotte to choose from Light Ideas is the place to go for cost and quality! So finally I was able to make it to Light Ideas since their hours are ridiculous for those that work. I wanted to replace 3 hall lights a kitchen and dining light. So stopped in and asked a gentleman about a kitchen island light to replace an ugly builder grade flourescent light. His response was you wont find anything. You wont be happy with any of the lights. Get an electrician and get recessed lights put in. Well I have to say thats not what we asked! Absolutely horrible service. Who the hell tells you to go get an electrician rather than help find you some lights. He clearly had another agenda, but we walked out! Terrible customer service!

Ive dealt with this firm for almost 40 years and they have never steered me wrong with fans or lighting. Unlike the big box stores, they are very knowledgeable about the products they sell and take time to listen to the customers requirements. Their recommendations are based upon hands-on experience with a product and can advise the do-it-yourself homeowner tips to make installation easier.My most recent project was replacing 14 of fluorescent under-counter lighting with modern LED lighting. My concern was that the LEDs might not be as bright, but the recommended Satco/Nuvo LED lights were far brighter, with a more pleasing color than any temperature of fluorescent tube I had ever tried. The recommended Lutron dimmer makes it possible to adjust the brightness from task work to soft background lighting. Thanks again, Light Ideas!
