I have been going there for 20 years. rececently evryone was replaced by incompetent staff and all hush hush about what happened to them...sad

Fresh / frozen bait always stocked. Plentiful with lures and lines of all kinds. 5 minutes from the port Hueneme pier where fishing is fun and easy. Always other fisherman and families on the pier chatting and having a good time. Early morning is the best time to go to hang with other people fishing. Usually get the drinkers later in the day and towards the end of the day.

Over priced and unknowledgeable. West Marine basically makes boating impossible for the average person.

Westmarine used to be the place to go for anything boating, they even had good kayak selection. But my last visit was very disappointing. No kayaks, supplies looked dismal! You used to walk into the store and someone always asked if you needed help this visit I was there for 20 minutes and the only person who said anything to me was the lady cashier who greeted me as I walked in. Next time Ill drive to basspros in Rancho Cucamonga!

Who doesnt love an expensive toy store like this? I dont own a boat but Ive purchased from them in the past when I needed a durable water pump. I toured the store today and found a huge selection of stainless steel screws, machine, wood & every kind. They have too much to list here. The store and staff were neat and tidy!

Lousy service. They dont answer the phone. I tried buying 3 cans of varnish to have my painter pick them up. They insisted on him having a credit card. The guy said hes hold them under my name. My painter drove 25 mile to Oxnard, waited in line for quite a while and they said they had nothing and made no note of my name as they said they would. The jack the prices on everything and the service sucks on top of it. Ordered the varnish on Amazon for $20 less a can. West Marine can go our of business for all I care.

Helpful people and a huge selection of boating hardware.

Store was well designed with wide aisle ways so you can see the products from different locations in the store. They had plenty of choices of cleaning products for all kinds of issues. They had a large variety of life jackets. I was impressed with their selection of items in general.

In all fairness, I not only write good reviews but also bad. I give this store 1 star only because it has a good selection of items to browse. However, I rarely buy anything from West Marine any longer.West Marine no longer has a liberal price match policy. Pretty much limited to sold direct from Amazon only. Not through Amazon but Direct from Amazon. (I am aware of what their price match policy states it is on their website. However, it is confusing to both the customer and to their own employees). WMs prices are usually significantly higher than online. If it is not an emergency, I will order online and wait a day.CUSTOMER SERVICE at this store is virtually NONEXISTENT! I responded to their feedback request and mentioned this fact. I was then called by their manager and discussed my concerns. I was apologized to and told that it would be relayed to their sales associates. I returned several days later and guess what? NO IMPROVEMENT!! I had no less than 3 employees walk right past me and not one even greeted me or asked if they could help. I was standing and staring at the shelf at that time.If you can find someone to ask a question, their knowledge of the products they sell is pretty much limited to what the computer says. No knowledge, expertise or experience.Do yourself a favor, shop online or find another store.

A little overpriced so if you dont need something immediately you can find it online a little cheaper . i have mixed feelings about their customer service. Well stocked if you know what your looking for. If your not sure of the part number you may not find what you need based on their reference system. Staff was very helpful in trying to help me find all I needed. Reasonably priced.

Bought a adjustable outboard mounting bracket instructions are very very bad no one in the store knew how to operate the mount had to get help from a customer the three senior ladies in the store spent a lot of time chatting about cash shorts in the back very bad retail operation.
