Mike Bissell was pleasant and efficient. However he was not very accurate with the settlement costs of the transaction. This almost caused me to lose my $2000 down payment and the home I had chosen. More than once he quoted me the costs confidently with it being +/- $100. But he was nearly $400 off on the high side.

The people who I dealt with were extremely friendly, knowledgeable and professional. If I needed to buy another home I would use them again. I highly recommend them.

Truly don’t where to start.. I guess at the beginning. I called the office and got an agent who came to the house to get started.First.. he wanted to list it at $33,000 .. I said put it on for $35,900.. he said it won’t sell at that price. I said again put it on for $35,900 and of course he did after all it is my home.Next I gave the paperwork proving my new AC, new dishwasher, and new roof. He took pics of all paperwork and when another agent came with a buyer he began asking for the same paperwork I had supplied to the original broker. I told him I had supplied that info and was not going to dig out the paperwork AGAIN!Lastly he asked that I not be there when buyers arrive. Hey I get it as I have had my RE license in the past but I could tell by his lack of enthusiasm that the showings were not going to be satisfactory to me.Here goes... another agent brought a lovely woman to the house.. I showed the house and all the little bonus places they did not even know about and it sold in 10minutes at almost full price... $35,500! HUH.. I would say I knew more about how to sell my home than the original broker who did the listing. The worst part is I paid $3000 in commissions and I am the one who sold it. Lesson learned!Ugh I should have tried to sell it on my own!!Remember everyone.. as sellers we can always come down but you can not very often go up.Glad it is over for sure. 😏😏

Our agent Irma went well beyond our expectations to get us the best deal. She kept me updated, sent all our paperwork, ask if there were ways she could help. My only disappointment was although everyone knew weeks in advance we were closing June 30th. I didnt receive our forms to sign until the Saturday before and the had to be back by Tuesday. Which meant I had to pay $58.00 to send the papers and check back overnight. That should have been easily avoided if the email had be seen a week before. We put a offer in on a mobile home. Contingent on inspection passing. Inspection revealed over $2500 worth of repairs. We asked the seller for a $700 credit. She refused and came back at $350. We told the agent to cancel the contract we’re moving on. Without our permission she went back to seller and told the seller we were canceling the contract. The seller then increased to $700 afterwards. We’ve already moved on and put a contract in on another property now this company refuses to give it back our $1700 escrow check and it’s avoiding us in person and when we call. Also, brokers name is Karen. Image that.

My experience with Darlene Roth and Four Star Homes was appalling. I was astounded by Ms. Roths unprofessionalism. I signed a contract with her expecting her to work in my best interest. The reality is that she treated me like I worked for her. She spoke to me like I was child and couldnt possibly make my own decisions regarding the house. My contract expired and I am pleased to not have to deal with Ms. Roth and Four Star Homes again.

Our family’s experience with Darlene Roth and Four Star Homes was not a good one. Darlene’s treatment of my sister was nothing short of rude. When I reached out to company leadership all I heard was crickets. Our 6 month contract is up and we are taking our business elsewhere.

Our listing stated the home has been rebuild and updated from top to bottom. Mike said the roof had a new membrane roof that should last 20 years. We paid $100 for a 4 point inspection (inspector recommended by Mike) which is necessary to get insurance. We were told the roof looked great. Within a few weeks we have had leaks in every room and are forced into replacing the entire roof. We have since learned the roof has many patches and does NOT have a new membrane. A horrible experience!!

I had the worst experience that I believe is possible. I specifically requested Ruby Bissell, and received her husband Mike as well.To begin with, I mistakenly signed a one year contract for a manufactured home. Ruby clearly agreed with my listing price. Four Star had at least 3 other listings in my community, along with several others in nearby communities.Immediately, I had one showing, along with a nearly list price offer. Unfortunately, I was unfamiliar with the buyers terms. Ruby and Mike were admittedly inexperienced with the terms of the offer as well. I was placed under extreme pressure to accept this offer because you never know when youll get another offer. I ended up declining the offer.A short time later, after no showings, I called Ruby and decided to reduce price. Still no showings after a few weeks, I hear that my community doesnt necessarily have the best reputation for management, therefore I reduced the price again.By the way, there are other homes in my community being sold by other realtors.After several requests, in January they finally had an open house (by a different agent). To my knowledge, it wasnt advertised until nearly 30 minutes AFTER the event started! As expected, no showings.Finally, at the end of January, a different agent had my second showing. Once again, I received a decent offer, and closed in 2 weeks! TWO showings and TWO showings. Both times, decent offers are placed! Hmm. Whats wrong with this picture?I had to glow up a few times for a specific closing date. IUpon my calling the night before, I get a time from someone in the office, that time came and went, i called again and found out the buyer was still out of town and the time and date for closing was unknown! About 2 hours later, I received a call that closing would be in about an hour!I do not recommend For Star to anyone.

STOLE $1000 FROM 91 YEAR OLD SENIOR. LIARS AND THIEVES .No, Lets speak publicly.Hes 91, from out of state. I told you he would likely change his mind. You said you understood, would not even cash the deposit check until HE had a chance to personally visit the property. But was a HOT property and YOU PRESSURED HIM to make an immediate decision WHEN YOU SPOKE TO HIM. And to hold it for a few days Four Star needed a check.Air flights were scheduled for a few days later, and his 28 year old granddaughter would conduct and travel with him from his home to Daytona. Then as I had forewarned, HE changed his mind 12 hours before his travel was to commence.But, Four Star DID CASH the deposit check -- IMMEDIATELY! Then Four Star REFUSED to return the deposit as discussed and agreed. Then Four Star said their management would agree to return $500.00. Then I posted this review and contacted a lawyer. Only then did Four Star return the $1000.00 deposit, after having unscrupulously held it for over a week.I maintain my comment; LIARS AND THIEVES.

If they had integrity they wouldnt take a listing if they thought it was over priced and would not sell. If youre selling one youre getting ripped off. I suggest you do your research before hiring this company.

Be very careful dealing with this company. I entered into a contingency contract with them. I decided to withdraw from the contract and they would not return my deposit. The property in question was sold within two weeks.I can see where my original review was edited. As I said the contract was a contingency contract where the home was already under contract. I decided the next day not to follow through, they said too bad and hel my deposit of $1000.00. The same house was sold and occupied within two weeks. If they wish to protest this review have them show my original contract and the sales contract that shows when the house was sold.

Port orange office is unorganized and unprofessional. I purchasing a home with them in March 2019. CASH DEAL easy transaction but the employees have no clue about customer service. The rude front desk lady would be fired if she work for me.

Thieves! Sold our home through them. The check is in the mail. Beware! Do NOT trust them, they will steal you blind. They also said they took out money we owed to Haciendo del Rio but at no time did anyone let us know. We gave them power of attorney to sell it and they abused this privileged. Please avoid them!

I am sad to say I had a very poor experience with my latest purchase thru Four Star. I purchased a home in 2014 thru Four Star and had no problems. This time I worked with Jackie Tiani. I was in MN and dealt with Jackie via email and texts. I had the home inspected, it needed a new hot water heater and there was a leaky toilet. I was told these were taken care of and she sent me a copy of the plumbers receipt. I decided I was going to drive down and asked Jackie to have the closing moved back a week or two but she said that wasn’t feasible so we went ahead and closed via mail. I arrived, got the keys and walked thru the house. It was a mess. The toilet still leaked, the carpets were filthy, previous owner left personal items plus food in refrigerator and freezer. Jackie was out of town and was no help. I ended up replacing the toilets, they were too filthy to clean, had the carpet cleaned and hired someone to remove the items they left including a broken down glider and grill in back yard. I and my sister cleaned the rest of the house. I sent your office a copy of the letter I sent Jackie outlining all these problems. I would like to try and get reimbursed for the $1500 I put out. I find it hard to believe that you sell your homes in this kind of condition. If I had been there to walk thru before closing I never would have given the seller my check. This is not good business practices and I would never recommend Four Star and especially Jackie to anyone. Ignoring my letter and not doing a thing about these problems is very upsetting.
