They have lots of selections on seafood and local meat. No spot shrimp in April and the unfrozen Shorts farm Steak is only during the summer. The live dungeness crab was not very big today. We also bought some wild boar bacon and Oregon beef. Mask is required as of 04-2021

I love this seafood market! The crew is helpful, fish so fresh it doesnt smell like a fish market. Prices reasonable, always worth a little wait to pick out whats for dinner!

Pretty awful taco salad. I got chicken taco salad which was actually just chips crushed up with a tsp of chicken slop, some white sauce and some salsa on it. awfullllll. $27 for two taco salds and 2 drinks. Do not waste you money.

Best pulled pork tacos I have ever had!

We found this hidden gem on a weekend trip to Port Townsend and fell in love! Super knowledge staff when it comes to the selection or fresh fish and seafood, cooking methodology, what to paid with, etc. We loved the crab cakes SO MUCH that we have since ordered them to be delivered to our home in Seattle numerous times since we first found Key City Fish. They package your order with tons of ice so everything is fresh and cold when it arrives. Highly recommend this spot for all of your meat and seafood needs!

Best fresh meat, poultry, and seafood place in town, by far. Friendly and knowledgeable service. (Ask for Daniel if you want great recipe or cooking tips, and definitely buy some of his smoked brisket or amazing bacon if theres any available.)

First time buying from a fish market and I had a wonderful experience! I showed up on a busy Saturday, but patience is a virtue and the fish and service were all well worth the wait. I will definitely be back!The man behind the counter was wonderful and I noticed he really made an effort to connect with every customer ahead of me- which I thought was great- giving me a healthy and much needed dose of wholesomeness. Too often Im accustomed to being herded into a que and pushed through mindless check-outs like Im a part of a herd of cattle.This experience was very meaningful to me because I moved here from a landlocked midwestern state and have 0 experience with ocean stuff- let alone fresh fish, (that isnt Trout or Walleye anyway)! So walking into a fish market by myself had me feeling.... like a fish out of water! After finishing the transaction, he even sent me with an awesome simple recipe to cook my purchase with. I threw my googled idea out the window and went with his and all I gotta say is that this guy knows his fish! I left feeling so deeply grateful that this business exists in my new town, and that I get to support it!Thanks again!{I got the King Salmon! Ill definitely be back for more and am excited to explore what the sea and this market have to offer}

The owner is a really nice guy and the fish is fresh and good and rates 5 stars. The to go window is a different story. The prices charged at the window do not match the prices on the sign..by $1 per item. A significant difference. The rice is plainwhite and the beans are chili beans. Not what I expected from the beans and rice on the menu. The window gets a 1 the store gets a 5 for 3 stars total.

Best fish and service around

Loved it, and hated it.We were in from out of town and wanted to get some of the seafood that areas like Port Townsend are famous for.I got THE BEST king salmon I have ever had, and some oysters that were completely inedible. I had to throw them right into the garbage.That being said, the dude behind the counter was great and went out if his way helping me to select a great piece of salmon in the right quantity for the group I was with.

The quality is phenomenal and the staff are amazing, helpful, knowledgeable and polite!

We moved to PT 2+ years ago. When we found KC Fish we were so impressed we have been going there for sea food, beef and specials ever since. After reading the other reviews I will admit that they do on occasion have new people waiting on you that are not as knowledgeable as we would like. But the regular employees are the best and Daniel is a true gem. Love seeing Daniel - always friendly, smart and knows his stuff. Yes, the duck breast is awesome. You will have to ask for it. We love the crab cakes, not over-seasoned like most. We usually buy a small amount of seaweed salad to plate under the crab cakes - yum.

Best brisket, beef jerky, and bacon Ive ever had! They smoke their meats to perfection and carry a wide variety of other similar quality items...But none compare to their house prepped products. Smoked salmon bellies are also great, plus theyve got a taco shop attached. Love this place.Best,~S

It really does not get better than this. Right off the boat fresh, super knowledgeable staff, reasonable prices and easy to get to by boat, or land too. I have purchased fresh salmon, local albacore tuna, clams and mussels. All of it was excellent. This is now a stop on every PT visit.

Im sorry Key City. Seems like if you just appreciated your customers and had more knowledgeable staff members working for you, you could get 5 stars all across the board. Been there 3 times and my philosophy for some things are, 3 strikes and youre out! Im certain the reviews that boast amazing service and seafood are friends/family. This place could truly earn 5 stars if they simply took the time to educate themselves, their very dim witted employees and realized they are dealing with a product that could KILL people if proper care and advice are not taken seriously. Found a fantastic seafood company thats just starting out. Cheaper and very knowledgeable folks running it. Message me to find out where.

Used to love this place and still do. Their smoked tuna is insanely good. Sea scallops are legit. Their spot prawns though are hit or miss. I got a batch that had not had their head severed quickly enough and they turned out mushy due to the enzyme. Were worthless at that point. Hope to see good quality in the future from them though!

Delicious smoked duck, beef brisket and salmon to name a few. Open most days, even New Years Day. The duck was moist and tender with a great smoked color.

Just tried to eat a 20$ cooked crab. We stopped at the first bite. We brought it home today on ice in a cooler and used an old family receipt. We threw most all of it away. Sorry we should have used Qfc or Safeway. George p Knutzen

Great staff and product

**READ CAREFULLY**I gave two stars because they generally have decent seafood. But I was shocked that the OWNER, nor his staff, did NOT know that sushi grade salmon HAS GOT TO BE, BY FDA REGULATIONS, frozen at -20, minimum for a minimum of 168 hours (7 days). He was trying to convince me to buy out of the case, never frozen salmon and Ahi, and says he eats it all of the time. A good fishmonger should know this. Will NOT buy from this place based solely on bad information that could actually KILL someone!! He lost a good customer because of his lack of knowledge. Catching, gutting, cleaning and selling is not all there is to safe seafood...sorry.

They have a take out window, but dont be fooled. Go inside and order. We should have heeded the warning of a disgruntled to-go guest ahead of us who eventually demanded a refund while shouting, Ive been waiting over thirty minutes for my to-go order.That wasnt anything. Our to-go order took over forty-eight minutes. Absurd!The food was mediocre at best.

The whale-watching crew suggested coming here as a tourist. It’s great. The boss of the fat brother is so enthusiastic. He bought a big crab and didn’t pay the bill. I was shocked. Thank you so much. I have poor English listening skills. I dont quite understand what he meant, the fat brother is too cute, if this is in the *national seafood store, I dont know how to kill! Thanks, I went to the Safeway next to the shop, the staff are as enthusiastic and the locals are very friendly! Will come again if there is a chance! the dungeness is very great! So taste.
