This place has it all! And I couldnt be more thankful since when I was packing, I forgot extra pants and during the hike back from the glass beach it rained...strike that poured on us. I found reasonably priced comfy clothes so I could shower and be dry back at the hotel. The customer service here is outstanding! They have a little bit of everything so there is something for everyone and the prices are pretty decent!

So many things to choose from! Clothing, housewares, and more. My husband found a pair of waterproof gloves. He has been looking for a pair!

Really cool store to shop in. Reminds me of an old-time variety shop or department store. Housewares, clothing, shoes, gift items, camping and fishing equipment as well as Discovery passes and fishing licenses. Sewing supplies and toys too. Local artists goods are up for grabs which is always preferable to me to support local artisians.

Great place to browse and find things you didnt even know you needed. We visit here every time we come up for a weekend away.

Mediocre and inconsistent stock. The manager/owner(?) Is extremely rude and frequently ignores me and other customers for no reason. I like supporting local businesses, but I prefer to be treated with respect when I do (which most of the staff is FANTASTIC about), but the old woman manager(?)owner(?) is just rude.

Quimper Mercantile is always a fun store. They have a lot of unique things some of which are Port Townsend specific.

Port Townsend general store. Pretty much go here/ have gone every time ive gone to PT to visit family (and since a kid). Is my favorite store on the peninsula. Quality brands and goods. Seems to have everything Im ever looking for or need... *Or didnt know I needed- and would pick/ go to and support over W-mart/ meyer/target or any other giant corporate huge evil conglomerate filled with junk merchandise, underpaid and unfriendly workers- and filled with a bunch of plastic and garbage that will just wind up in our landfills.And small-town friendly, personable, PT- polite/creative, positive and just genuine employees! 😊👍

When we first visited pt townsend, I drove right past here thinking it was a grocery store. We just recently stopped in and I was amazed and all they had! We will absolutely be visiting again!

Loved the toy store can not say this about the other side of the store rude people at check out and no restrooms available for customers. Covid-19 is not a reason to close restrooms if you can take my money you can offer a restroom. Public restrooms had two working stalls and no paper. We will not be coming back until they open restrooms again. I know business is bad right now and that is truly one of the reasons we decided to go shopping spending over 800.00 $ we would have spent more but not having restrooms open we decided to leave. We will not be doing that again any time soon. Open restrooms we need to wash our hands !!!

Port Townsend is fortunate to have a resource like Quimper Mercantile. You can find most items that you may need for day to day fun or work. Staff is great and very helpful.

Lots of new really good quality items, but mostly small sizes for items I was looking for. Very clean, help was a little slow, but its PT, so very PT vibe.

They have alot of clothing for men and women and a huge selection of hiking boots.

I asked for assistance today from the woman working the sales counter and her response was “try the store on Laurence.” When I told her that I was from out of town and would need directions, her response was “look at a map.”Despite my intention of making a purchase, I left without doing so. Perhaps COVID hasn’t impacted this store because they certainly didn’t want my business.😡

Never thought PT could improve on Swains but they have!! Great selection and clean and fun place for the kids. Its like an outdoor and kids toy store in one.

Love this Mercantile....found a great new purse, a long sweater-jacket & even a hard plastic spatula Ive been looking for.

In a pinch its good but otherwise its pretty expensive.

Well priced, quality merchandise. Excellent, friendly service. Great selection of Carhartt, and other good brands. Even though it was a very busy Christmas Eve, cashiers, employees were helpful and courteous. Found some great serendipitous buys inside. If I only I lived here....

The last time I went in I was looking at pants in the back for around 15 minutes, The lady Sandra came back and was immediately very rude to me. She asked if I was going to buy any pants and I said “not sure yet im still looking” she responded with “its a yes or no question, do you want the pants or not?” so I said “no” because at that point I was kind of offended. Then, she responded with “ok, well see you next time” and pointed to the door. I felt very disrespected and offended but I left. It was nowhere near closing time and there was no reason for her to do that. If you decide to shop here still, STAY AWAY FROM SANDRA.

They had hand sanitizer at the entrance and exit of the store and were taking great proper steps to keep customers and staff 6+feet apart and as safe as they could!

Love this place - it reveals itself over time. Check out their B.O.C. shoes - super comfortable at a great price. Love their kitchen area, the selection of local products and lots of good hats! I find more than I usually need here.

Affordable prices for quality goods, chosen with unusual sensitivity to locals, visitors and our beautiful Peninsula living. My Go-To for gifts and basics. Keeps me & my money in town, supporting our local economy and identity. So glad we have the addition of Quimper Mercantile in our wonderful, independent town.

The staff is very friendly and helpful, which has me keep coming back. Although they do not carry nearly as much variety as they have in my previous years of shopping here, the staff is always friendly and helpful. I can always find something that I need to spend my money on each time I visit. This is the only place in town you can find plus size t-shirts and they are always changing the shirt being offered.

Very friendly staff and a great selection of clothes for all ages. They have an excellent shoe department along with a ton of fun, random other goods.

Great spot for last minute gifts

I really loved shopping here through the years. Unfortunately my opinion has changed. I purchased a pair of boots over Labor Day weekend, which fell apart within hours of wearing them. Contacted the store and have been given the run around since then. I was told to contact the buyer for a refund, which is in some other country. I sent all the required info, including photos and nothing has been done. I offered to send the boots back to The Mercantile at my cost, thereby making a refund to my credit card easier. Still nothing.Here it is, over two months later, and I am still waiting for some kind of resolution.Poor customer service.

My husband and I visited this store while driving through, and we thought it was a great store. It had a pretty nice variety of goods at good prices. We found a vest that my husband loves that is Eddie Bauer quality but for only $25. This store tempted us to spend a lot more money than we should!

Wonderful selection with excellent customer service!

I had a worker approach my 12 yr old and 1 year old today take a squeaky shark from his hands. I was an aisle over. I went to the desk and talked to the workers about the incident. The worker Sandra was rude and stand offish. She said she heard someone complain about the squeaking. That is not a good enough reason to grab a toy from a 1 year old! Ask me his mother and I will. Great stuff and toys but be aware if your kid is noisy or if its the fact that Im not white? Who knows. Very rude!

They had exactly what we needed. Plus I got to show my fiance what a Mercantile was. When she asked, what do they sell at a mercantile? And my response was, everything!, this place did not fail to meet those expectations. Staff was friendly as well.

From socks to hats, and all in between; they carry most apparel items for Men, Women and Children. They now offer bedding, kitchen and bathroom basics and accessories. I needed new shoe laces and was happy to find cool, colored ones.

This is Port Townsends version of Target, although the prices are a little higher. This store offers a wide variety of quality items from clothing and shoes to toys, camping gear, art supplies, and gift items.

What a delightful surprise! We didnt expect much when we walked into the Quimper Mercantile. We actually were planning on killing some time as we waited for a friend. We found ourselves still looking through the store 40 minutes later, trying on items, and eventually making several purchases. There is a wide range of items in the store from toys to jewelry to shoes and more. There are several higher end clothing items but sale items are also available.

Has what you need for home or your outdoor activities. Staff very friendly and helpful.

My daughter and I were visiting from out of state and stopped in to buy a few gifts the lady Sandra was very rude as we were looking told us to hurry up they were closing soon went over and told my daughter she had to give her the things she was getting right now because they were closing keep being very rude even as we were checking out so i regretfully spent 200 there and would never shop there again very disapointed

We were waiting for the ferry home but decided to look around their baby section since they always have a quirky selection of toys! We normally just head toward their camping section or toys (they have a home section now too aside from the men and women clothing). We got rain boots for my son, they are one of the few that sells rainboots without too much cartoon characters. I took pics of their baby area since I noticed there are pictures of other areas already.

I love this little store. Actually its a pretty big store. They have so many neat trinkets, treats, and fun things that are local as well as things that you see in other places. They have a great selection of soaps and other smell goodies. Jewelry, clothing, and other things that are neat to look at if not buy. I have found that when you go to a store like this things are usually marked up quite a bit. However, Quimpers prices are usually lower than other places even in the city. For example I looked at the Wave Tree & London soap which costs $8 a bar at Quimpers but is $10 to $13 for the same size bar on Amazon and otger retailers! Just one of the things theycarry that are lower-priced than elsewhere. They bring in new merchandise frequently so I stop by whenever I visit Port Townsend. Highly recommended whether youre browsing or looking to buy something special as a souvenir.
