My coffee was cold but the breakfast sandwich was delicious
Delicious breakfast. So peaceful
Super disappointed with speed of service. Line out the door with one lady on register who was bagging bakery, taking orders, slicing bread and pulling coffee. Theres definitely a more efficient way to get your morning bakery and coffee fix.
While this is normally a lovely place to have lunch and a cappuccino, today there were too many eggshells (!) in the egg salad and they didnt have any potato salad.
Wonderful gem in pretty downtown Port Washington - beautiful sunny space and fantastic authentic pastries and breads that are a taste of Europe - the donuts are unique and a step up from your typical donut - sophisticated almond croissants that are both crispy and chewy- love the hefty multigrain loaf - open now for dine in - great place to hang out- oh yeah the scotch mist rolls are unbelievable (used for the wonderful breakfast “bap” sandwich)... just go
Great atmosphere and delicious croissants!
How does this place stay in business? Slow slow S.L.O.W. slow and incompetent. They charge a lot and should be able to have more people helping customers. No wonder so many port businesses close. Greedy owners who wont pay staff.
First time stopping in... Promised my 3 year old a donut last night. Oh... My... Didnt realize this was going to be the Cadillac of donuts. Just incredible! Sensational really. Will definitely be coming back!
While the menu is streamlined and just a tad sparse, what is offered is of exceptional quality. The whole grain bread has a great texture and flavor, the coffee is nutty and rich, and the Bap breakfast sandwich is made from ingredients that easily convey their freshness. Expensive for breakfast, but the taste and experience are worth checking out.
Best sourdough bread!! 🥖
Great bakery options! I believe Id ordered a large mocha, but cup seemed small. Unfortunately, I was too distracted by the thought of the delicious doughnuts we had purchased to notice the size until we were halfway home. (I do not know what their large size is; if it is 16 oz, this may have been.)
Good bread and sandwiches but a bit over priced for what you get.
Great bread, desserts, and sandwiches.
Food was good and so was the service
Love their multi grain bread
Truthfully, they made the best breakfast sandwich I have ever had!! HIGHLY recommend.
Great little place, good range of food options, very clean and tidy. Employees are nice and always have a mask on when in contact with customers.
Cute little place in downtown Port Washington. The triple grilled cheese was excellent. Panini style with a side of chips and a sweet pickle. Very nice assortment of breads and doughnuts also
Bakery was beyond delicious. We bought their sourdough bread too. I cant wait to go back. Highly recommend for bakery, the coffee wasnt good at all.
Awesome food and friendly service!
Nice selection of lunch sandwiches, which come with a choice of sides (good potato salad). Somewhat pricey. Excellent bakery, which is the true highlight. Breakfast is also available. Open only Fridays through Sundays, 6 AM to 3 PM.
Met up with some friends and we were thrilled with the idea of loaded potato soup on a chilly fall day. 3 of us ordered it and it was potato water. It was thin, 3 pieces of potato and bread chunks put in it. Everything else looked good...but need to do a better soup.
They are never open when I go. Oh, wait, once I finally managed to work their odd hours into my schedule. Guess what? They stop serving food an hour before close. Why not close earlier then? Whats the point?
Very inconsistent quality. Nowhere near as good as when they first opened several years ago. Two of the last three loaves of sour dough bread have been dense and under-cooked. This is over the course of a couple months Not to mention misshapen. But at least theyre expensive (sarc).
Coffee, pastries, and breakfast sandwiches were all very good. Bread was delicious!
I stopped by today to purchase a dozen scotch mist rolls. There were eight on a tray on the counter to be sold. The cashier went to the back to see if they had another four. She came back with the manager, Samantha, who informed me that they did not have an additional four rolls and they not sell me the eight on the tray on the counter as they needed them for other customers who “may” order BAPS. So essentially she refused to honor my order to accommodate the possible order of other customers. This seems to be typical for Daily Baking Company—very poor service.
Food is freshly made and delicious! Also has good location right in downtown Port Washington, near the lake. Be sure to check on their hours though if you decide to go, as they arent open everyday, and hours are short (think its breakfast and lunch only) on open days.
Full disclosure - the owner and I attend the same church and she told me about her shop. Oh. My. Goodness. It is amazing. I’m a foodie and have been craving a really excellent breakfast/lunch spot since moving to Milwaukee 3 years ago. FOUND IT! Even though it’s 1/2 away, we will be regulars here. Perfectly crafted breads, wonderful breakfast, and out of this world sandwiches. The space is serene and happy. Not something I’d have expected in little Port Washington - it reminds me more of Poulaine in Paris - truly. If you’re nearby - maybe passing on I-43 - it’s worth a stop. Staff was very friendly and helpful and my 5 yo son enjoyed the children’s books they have to borrow. Really a hidden gem.
We first thought this was a great find and would become one of our favorites. But there have been disappointments. If you pay a lot for coffee, you want it to be good. They have a fancy espresso machine, but what I got was not espresso. Ditto for regular coffee. In the past, almond scone was worth writing home about, but lately nothing special. Staff dont seem as confident and engaged as befits a place with this coffee shop / bakerys potential. This review sounds negative. Its not bad-- actually pretty good, just doesnt seem to live up to their potential.
My husband and I come here to eat breakfast on Saturday mornings. Their chocolate croissants are so flaky and delicious. Their breakfast sandwiches are fresh and flavorful. Their coffee is amazing. Its truly a delightful atmosphere and experience every time.
Eh. Nothing special here. My husband and I hike in the Port Washington area quite frequently. Thought we would give this a try. We shared a donut, he had a small ($4.00) hot chocolate, and I had an iced coffee. This will be a one and done for us. Overpriced (over $10) and nothing special.
Its so nice to have such a wonderful bakery in Port Washington. I visit at least twice a month to buy a baguette and almost always end up purchasing something sweet as well. The brioche donuts are incredible - my favorite is raspberry. The decor is very tasteful and the layout of the location allows you to watch the bakers work in the back kitchen area. This is a great place for breakfast and/or a light lunch with seating inside and small cafe tables outside on the sidewalk.
The bakery is incredibly good - my favorites are the brioche donuts and the Scotch Mist rolls. Great breakfast and lunch options, good tea and coffee - the only drawback is it isnt open enough. Call to make sure theyre open, first, and come early for the best bakery selection.
Breakfast was perfect and they are open nice and early
I come here pretty regularly, and I love it. Excellent atmosphere; classy, yet down-to-earth.The baked goods are of the highest quality, and I especially love their breakfast baps and various cookies and muffins.Strong recommendation.
They really need to consider the plant based population.
Great bakery and other food. Decor is nice. Only downside are the limited weekend hours.
Service was a little slow and the coffee wasnt my favorite but the food is very good! I love the dressing that came with the salad and the quiche Lorraine was awesome!
One of the best black bean soups I ever had. Wow, and the piece of bread that came with was very big, soft and tasty.
This is a wonderful destination for coffee, breakfast or lunch. It is comfortable, ideally located and worth a visit. We simply came here for coffee but the food looked fantastic.
Great fresh food and bakery! A little limited on beverage option if looking for a cafe/coffee type location. Prices are a bit high, but food is delicious.
Fresh made deliciousness! Love the quiche and side salad.
Place was great, but they dont have soy milk (or anything non-dairy). Employee said that the owner wanted to keep it simple. I dont think it is too much to ask to carry one non-dairy alternative. Otherwise, place was great!
Excellent food but too expensive in our opinion, love that everything is local and fresh...so you do pay for that. Very friendly and nice atmosphere
Only negative would be that they are only opened 3 days a week! Best bakery and donuts in the area. Also friendly service and great coffee.
Quality baked goods in a cozy, relaxed atmosphere. Wonderful for breakfast and a newspaper morning.
Underwhelmed by a bakery that seemed more style than substance. My savory pastry was cold and uncooked in the middle with cheese that had solidified, and though they said they’d send the chef out to look and get me something different, they never did. After waiting 10 minutes for this to happen we finally gave up and left. They also made us a regular coffee instead of a latte and had to remake it. Everything was also quite expensive. We ended up going down the street and ate happily at another cafe. Everything looked really good, but in the end it was a disappointing experience.
Great atmosphere and food. Wish they carried gluten free buns even if they just got Udis and served it.
My favorite, the Breakfast Bap ...excellent as always
I will be a raving fan forever.Carrie runs a first class operation here!!....wonderfully competent people, amazing food, perfect espresso.Grateful,TomO.
It seems kind of asinine to be called the Daily Baking Company and only be open three days a week. Their pastries are good if you can make it there when they are open.
I used to hate bread, and I had not tried avacado toast. This is my new weekend staple. Any bread from Daily Baking for avacado toast! I had one slice with a fried egg, green tomato, and venison bacon, the other with tomatoes, feta, and balsamic.
Such a great treat in downtown Port Washington! Home made goods are really delicious! Definitely a must if youre in Port Washington.
Food, atomsphere, restaurant is great. Wish they offered a gluten free bagel, bread or anything on their sandwiches and it would be perfect.
Very busy on the weekends, but worth the wait. High quality foods in a variety of tastes: caramel brioche donuts are a must, as well as the hot sandwiches: Breakfast BAP for sure- egg, bacon (from local Bernies fine meats), and cheese on a soft house-made scotch mist roll. Its hard not to go every day! Open days of the week, otherwise I would for sure.
Wow! Absolutely delicious! Had the grilled cheese of the day - 3 cheeses, bacon, dijon mustard and mayo in grilled panini sandwich - Outstanding! I choose the fruit salad as a side - Wow! Fresh figs, apricots, apples and cranberries with nuts. Yummy! My husband and teenage sons were equally impressed with their choices. Stunning aesthetic in the restaurant, beautifully presented with fresh, bright, innovative food. Highly recommend - Yum!
Like this place for a quite small meal...the location and building are very cool. The bakery items are amazing!
Delicious sandwich special. Great atmosphere
Great place for breakfast. Loved there Breakfast BAP sandwich. Their baked goods are great.
This place is awesome! You have to try their breakfast bap sandwich. Make sure you get it with cheese 👍🏻
Its pretty standard fair, but giving one star for being closed three days a week
Fairly expensive. Breakfast & lunch food is good, but not as good as Id expect with the prices. The baked goods are great though.
Love this place better than Dockside Deli!!!!! Was FORCED to eat there today. ONLY because I forgot u guys are open Thursday- Sunday.LOVE THIS PLACE DEARLY!!!!! YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!!!👻
Great baked goods, nice staff
Large quanity of less than average tasting food at higher price than expected. Short staff.
Excellent bread, fantastic veggie soup, awesome salad! Great place!
Delicious quality food for affordable prices, wonderful customer service, chic upscale ambiance.
Great pastries.
This place is open only on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. They are close on other days.
Delicious bread and beautiful downtown Port Washington
Food is consistently AWESOME! Absolutely love coming here whenever we can. The ramen is my favorite (shrimp kimchi Shio) but their appetizers are also interesting and delicious! Its difficult to decide but the Pork Steam Buns are always ordered when we come. Have tried the shishitos which are spicy, the sauce is great. I like ordering the cucumber appetizer with the shishitos to cool down. The yuzu sauce is so yummy!
Great food and overall focus on the customer experience.
I can’t give an opinion because the “daily” baking company isn’t open 4 days out of the week
Great sour dough bread
Why call it DAILY Baking Company 😂 when youre only open 3 days a week?
Excellent! I was passing through for work and stopped in to buy some pastries for a customer. Friendly locals too.
Great food. good prices
Good food, awkward sitting if you go with a big group and the 2 big tables are already occupied.
Excellent baked foods good sandwiches too
Artisan breads and cakes cozy hometown flair!
Delicious break while out for a bike ride
Amazing food. People say its expensive but you get what you pay for.
Wow! How have I missed this place. Phenomenal sandwiches!!
Best bakery in the area and the service was exceptional!
Super cozy with great food.
Lovely food and service!
Best grilled cheese of my life.
A little pricy but foods worth it just wish portion of quiche was a little bigger
Received a $15 gift card so thought I’d try. Purchased 2 cupcakes and 4 cookies. Both were dry. Kinda sad that they charge this price and it’s unpalatable. 🙁
Quality food
Very comfortable and very good food
The homemade granola is great!
