They came highly recommended by my mechanic and after stepping one foot in their office I knew why. Very clean and organized in their building. This is the only Locksmith service you need to call. I was in a bit of a jam with a locked door and they were beyond helpful. We will most definitely use Michigan Security & Lock for all future locksmith / etc. needs and recommend to family and friends.

These guys do a decent job, getting them to contact me has been difficult. I’ve called twice and stopped at the shop once (closed at 2:30pm on a Monday for some reason). A tech was in the parking lot and advised me to text my info to Dustin, but I still haven’t received a reply.

So I towed my car into the shop because it wouldn’t start it said theft deterrent system needed servicing?? So they said I needed to go to the dealership and get a key made and then get it reprogrammed 100s of dollars. Well I called a locksmith instead and they made me a new key and came out and reprogrammed the key and I was out of there in 15 minutes!! These guys are the best!! The owner himself came out and helped me. Very cool guy. So if your car is ever broke down and won’t start because of a key or security system etc. call these guys!! Period!! Or even for all your security needs or locks!! Thank you!!

These guys are amazing! I called them this morning and they went right over and were easily able to get my lock open so my car could get fixed at the autobody shop. They were kind and courteous and very understanding and made it so my car could get quickly repaired which I very much appreciated. Pleasant surprise to be treated nicely every time I go there for a key!A few years ago I could not find anyone that had the right key blank for my office door anywhere. After trying several places with no luck I found Michigan Security and Lock. I have an old hard to find key needed a few copies. Brent took his time researched and found some blanks after looking for a few minutes. This key is for my Grand Rapids location. I found myself in Kalamazoo today and remembered that I could use a couple more. So, I stopped he had them again. All of the guys are friendly and know their stuff. Went to Michigan Security & lock to get a new transponder key for my Dodge Grand Caravan. Frank was the technician that helped me out with this request, After arriving at my appointment time Frank was all set to do the job. After realizing that the emergency key in my fob was not even for my car Frank cut a new key to fit my lock and made the new transponder key in less than a half hour! Super great service from all of the staff!! will definitely use them for all my future needs!!!

The person came to fix our lock. He said your lock is loose. All I have to do it tight it.he was on the phone the whole time .then he said your lock is broken. He took my lock to his truck and after half hour he said that u need a new lock for 284.00 dollars. Not professional. Very unsatisfied.

The entire staff was awesome, I was searching for a replacement strike plate for my Kwikset dead bolt lock. After searching every box store and local hardware in the area, I found the only way to replace this small part was to buy an entire deadbolt unit. I was told by a local hardware store owner to try Michigan Security and Lock, and I’m glad I did. They not only had this part but gave me a second one free because I couldn’t remember which type I had. Any time I need a lock service, this is my new go-to place.

Dustin was nice enough to explain what documents I needed for him to cut me a key with remote, because I’ve never done that. My time in Michigan was very short with many things to do to clear and clean the house, renovate and put for sale, and one thing held me back was to get our vehicle moved out of the garage which the only key with remote were no where to be found to clean out garage Dustin stayed and was determined to make sure the key worked in the ignition. This place is a rip off, I took two automobile keys in to be cut they charged me $10.00 dollars when I said something about the price I was told if I would have bought the keys from them it would have been cheaper. (BEWARE) If I could have gave zero stars I would have.Imagine, I had to go back because the keys did not work they were cut wrong, a different guy helped me and said he normally does all the auto key work but was not their when I was their earlier and he was sorry. I spent my time and money (to much) the first time, and the second time going back all I get is a sorry? A company with good customer service would have gave me a full refund. Now, I which I could have given them 5 negative stars.What is not fair is paying premium shop minimum rates to cut two simple car keys and then having to return to get them recut so they work. I do not wish to discuss this with you any longer, I was at your business twice in one day and the second time you guys had the chance to make it right and chose not to, why should a person have to write a review about a company in order for them to value their customers. There is nothing more to say or do.

I went in with a gas cap to my scooter and no key. They started working on it around 5pm and was still working on it around 7pm determined to figure it out that night for me. Girlfriend called around 7 and said she found the key. They wouldnt let me pay them for their time. My husband and I were travelling overseas and we had a failure of a hot water system at our apartment and the only person who had the key was me. So we called them and they went out almost immediately and removed our key lock which they managed to save and put on a code lock so we never have this problem again with no-one being able to access our basement. Was looking for a lock box replacement key. I figured I could just use the machine at Walmart or just go into Home Depot and have one made. Both places I visited hoping to be able to make a simple duplicate key with no luck (they generally can only do house keys and similar styles).I was told about Michigan Security and Lock by a very helpful person at Home Depot. I stopped in and met with a guy named Paul who was very helpful. Although they did not have the key I needed exactly, his experience and know how led him to a old Honda Motorcycle key which held the similar shape to the lock box key. He did have to shave it down and customize it to work. But got the job done and only took about 5 minutes from me walking in and getting a duplicate key (custom made at that!). They have a nice showroom and a number of products there for anyone’s needs in the lock/security genre. Very happy customer!

I work at an apartment complex and found this business by googling door repair. We have an exterior building door that was ripped out of the hinges that I reached out to this company for help fixing. They came out w/out notice and looked at the wrong door. I had to call them back out and the 2nd time they came back out I was promised a quote. Days turned into weeks, which turned into a month. I kept following up with Michigan Security & Lock every couple of days, only to be told that someone would get back to me. This happened over and over again until I decided to come here and leave this honest review. If you want the run-around and to be disappointed this is the perfect establishment for you. Maybe the area that I am in was intimidating to them but it wouldve been professional for them to just tell me that they couldnt help me instead of giving me the runaround over and over. I wish I could rate lower. Businesses like these are the WORST!

Hey friends and family if you’re interested in a keyless entry door lock for your home contact them. I love just closing the door behind me and covering the touch screen with my 🤚 then it automatically locks..Also just entering a code when coming in instead of fidgeting for a key! Dustin Jones installed it in less than 10min seemed like, he was very professional And informative showing myHusband and I how to use it and it also came with a booklet.. I definitely feel more safe as the deadbolt is a lot longer and thicker than what we had before! We plan on doing more business with them! Thank you I love coming in my front door now having to carry a baby, diaper bag and or groceries! Makes it much much easier than going thru the garage navigating around trash cans, lawn mower or another car and not falling! We are very happy with it! And it’s pretty cool 😊

I was very pleased with Michigan Security and Lock and would recommend them to anyone. Ross was the guy I worked with to help my brother who was locked out of his car. Ross did a great job explaining what he did, gave us great pointers and even saved us money by giving us key codes and spares. Most places would have not to gain more money from you down the line. I was even pleased about the price. I called several places before stumbling on Michigan Security and Lock and received estimates totaling $200-300. My estimate with them stayed under $150!
