I simply LOVE this place, the staff is wonderful and there is also so much peace in there, not to mention the deliciousness of al the wonderful options that you can take.

We have not had a food or flavor of ice cream we did not like so far.They offer a rewards program, you can order online, call in, or dine in.Owner and his mother are genuine and kind. They treat you like family.
I would give 6 stars if I could. The only place in town that does a London Fog right. If you havent had one, go get an iced London Fog and you wont regret it. So many difference flavors of homemade Ice Cream, there is a flavor for everyone. Have a problem with food or service? Landall and Peggy will never let you down.

EDIT : the owner reached out and personally rectified the situation and fully refunded our order and was very apologetic. Truly the first time in the service industry I have experienced such candor and honesty from a store owner. Normally after a poor incident like this I wouldnt dare to waste my time on an establishment again. Truth be told this time I am looking forward to the next time our family wants to be a patron at LandallsPoor customer service skillsMy order was wrong I asked for a green chili stew and was given a green chili casserole. I already arrived home when I opened my order and found that it was incorrect. Calling back for the manager on duty Amanda. She offered to replace the item in other soups but I only wanted the green chili and instead asked if I could receive a ham and cheese sandwich. Said it was no problem and to give them 5-10 mins to prepare the order.I arrive and they told me I owed them $6.56 for the new food as we were told multiple times that it was a casserole. Needless to say there was a miscommunication.The management was rude and I do not plan on giving my business to this establishment anymore when I visit family in portales.

They make so much of their own stuff, like ice cream and chai and sandwiches and pastries...all of it is AMAZING. The coffee is good, not the best ever, but good compared to the Clovis/Portales average. Definitely a step up from Dew Drop. The art and messages around the shop are lovely and heartwarming and nerdy. The only way I can describe a visit to Sweetwaters is PURE HAPPINESS.

Let me start off by saying I love this place. The ice cream selection is awesome. That being said, I hadn’t been back since they reopened because of the virus, until today. My dad is in town and I wanted him to experience the awesome ice cream. One of the employees was pretty nice, however the young lady who was scooping up the ice cream seemed irritated that we had a larger order than she was expecting. Granted it was right before closing, but I bought 6 people’s worth of ice cream....on one order, I asked for two scoops and she gave us one scoop in two bowls instead of together. My ice cream was last to be scooped, and I clearly got way less than everyone else’s two scoops. She even slammed the sliding cover over the ice cream. I’m just really disappointed. I have been looking forward to coming back and getting some great ice cream. This irritated employee really sucked the joy out of that.
What can I say about this place. You cant go wrong getting anything from here. When you buy from here you are not just supporting a Mom and Son business, you are also supporting our community. Landall goes out of his way to provide for our community in many ways, weather thats providing food for gatherings or visiting those that are hurting, he truly cares and its obvious. One thing that always stuck out to me was just how much he cares about you as a person. On one occasion I went in and ordered a Macchiato, and he took the time to show me and explain to me just how he layered the coffee, and why it costs more than a latte, I thanked him and went on my way. Fast forward a few weeks we run into each other in public and he remembered our conversation and apologized for not asking me if I enjoyed the coffee he prepared. He always remembers the little things and its so amazing. His customer service goes above and beyond. Not to mention the atmosphere of the shop is so sleek and modern. If you havent tried Landalls coffee, youre missing out.
The place is wonderful. The service though, it was kind of bad. My friend ordered something, then this lady that worked there literally walked up to our table, threw the bag on the table, said, Here you you go, and walked off. It seemed like she hated her job there. To be honest, I have been to lots of places in which the staff had an attitude like the staff at Landalls. Therefore, I would not be surprised at all. With that set aside, the place is great. Great variety of items too. Yet, the service does need some improvement. Maybe hiring new staff could do the trick? 🤔
I LOVE coming here! The sweets are my favorite! The only small downfall is that sometimes the employees forget to offer to warm up cakes/brownies and one or two employees won’t ask if I want to use my points on my purchase (sometimes I’m unaware how many points I have)

I decided to give this place a try yesterday because I hadn’t ever tried it before and I was not disappointed. The food was amazing. They have a HUGE variety of keto friendly and gluten free foods and the red velvet cake is AMAZING!! Highly recommend!
This is a great cafe and ice cream/coffee shop. The family loves going here. They make their own ice cream and have a wonderful atmosphere. The staff is friendly and helpful. Be sure to say Hi to Landall if he happens to be there when you stop in.

Portals Legacy is delicious and a little pricey. Amazing vanilla-cream Dr. Pepper, shout out to NKoske! All around great atmosphere with excellent service. Takes a little bit to get severed but its worth the wait.

Food was OK and the people who took our orders were nice. The reason for my 1 star rating was how uncomfortable the management made us feel. The older lady that worked there greeted every other customer in the restaurant except us. I shrugged it off, but she seemed to go out of her way to avoid us (we were the only brown people there at the time). Lol, she even talked over my husband to greet the people behind him. She completely ignored us. Because of that experience, I wouldnt go back and wouldnt recommend it to other out of town visitors.
Omg this is the place for amazing ice cream, the classic 1-6 and just a great atmosphere. Its the perfect place for a college town! Landalls has been around for almost 30 years and I hope it stays!

The best place to get food or ice cream. Plus its owned by our local celebrity actor that made it on television. Toby is the best when getting food or drinks. They still rent movies and games like the old days. Great people that work there and a must when in Portales.

We had to work the ENMU Military Appreciation football game and stopped by Landall’s on our way back to base. As soon as we entered the establishment, Peggy complimented us on how nice we looked in our Honor Guard uniforms, and proceeded to the back. We continued to pay for our ice cream, however when we turned around, Peggy was telling us that they were processing refunds & we’d receive free ice cream. The gesture was extremely kind and we accepted. She is genuinely the sweetest and she warmed our hearts after a long week. We even tried to leave a tip, which she kindly declined (we snuck it into the tip jar anyway 😂). On top of IMPECCABLE service, they have GREAT ice cream! If you stop by Landalls, tell them we sent you!

With the exception to some negative reviews regarding an older man and the female owner, the reviews on the food and menu looked okay, so we decided to check it out. Wished we didn’t due to customer service. This establishment earned a 1-star. Upon entering the establishment, the older female, I recognized as the female depicted on their business sign, was not welcoming and did not seem to care that we were there to provide her business. There were no employees in sight when my family and I walked in. She saw us standing and waiting patiently to order food, but she continued to ignore us and stood talking to a gentleman in the dining area. A few minutes later the rest of my family entered, but regardless how big our party was, she continued to talk to the gentleman. We stood there looking at the menu board for about 7-10-minutes until an employee (Hispanic female) finally emerged from the back. She was helpful and provided good customer service. Another employee emerged (Caucasian male with glasses) and he greeted us and also provided good customer service when he served our food. More customers started to come in, and as we dined, the older female verbally greeted every group of customers seated at the tables. It is a nice touch to check on the customers and their dining experience. However, as she walked toward our table, I gave her a smile and she looked away and walked pass us. Interestingly, she went out of her way to look over and beyond our table to acknowledge and greet the customers sitting on the table beside us. The perception was that she did not acknowledge non-Caucasians, like us, and it made our experience awful.We should have walked out from the beginning when the older lady didn’t stop her conversation to acknowledge us or notify one of her employees to get up front to man the counter. There needs to be improvement on customer service. With every business trying to make a penny, she’s lucky my family even gave her business a thought and that we stopped by to spend our money there. At this day and age, there are no excuses for ignorance for not being culturally intelligent and sensitive. If you’re visiting, enjoy your dining experience and go elsewhere where they value and treat their customers with dignity across the board. We do not plan to return to this establishment.

The best coffee anywhere. Unlike most places, Sweetwaters never burns their beans or uses overhot brewing, so you get coffee with perfect rich flavor at a drinkable texture every time.

It wasn’t bad the first two times we went there, but the last time I went there by myself the owner for no apparent reason felt it necessary to stare me down. She then proceeded over to some officers that where seated and greeted all of them with a very friendly and hardy hello. I thought maybe it was just because they where officers and she was doing what anyone should do. But then my fiancé had the same Experince. She went in to do some homework and was enjoying her food when the same owner stared her down as she ate. She even gestured with her hand as if to say “what” the lady then proceeds to another group of college students and again very friendly greets them. We aren’t unfriendly people unless of course like most other provoked, we carry ourselves with friendliness and often say hello to anyone we make contact with. Needless to say the owner has been a terror each time we’ve gone and we will never be back. I travel all across the surrounding areas of NM and have been sharing my Experince.
