Standing strong amidst the presence of nearby Asian grocery titans such as Fubonn and Hong Phat, Lily Market punches way about its weight class, in terms of variety, quality and price. While its slightly farther away for me than other, similar markets, I find myself gravitating more and more towards this privately-run grocer, instead of the larger chains, partially due to wanting to support local business, but also because its just so darn cool!Parking is a little tight, unless you use the satellite lot that precedes it on Halsey, and depending on what entrance you use, Lily Market gives the impression of being smaller than it actually is. Dont be fooled. Like the Tardis, it is bigger on the inside, I assure you. In fact, I tend to forget that every time I come here, and have been surprised each time by just how much stuff they pack into this place!All the staples are here: instant noodles, sauces, fresh produce, chips and snacks, candies, tableware, cookery and utensils, frozen entrees, desserts, spices, even Asian DVDs...the list goes on! I would probably hit the character limit for this review if I tried to summarize all the things youll find here, but that would be rude of me. Part of the fun is in the adventure of discovering new and interesting things around every corner!About the only thing I cant find here is the same thing I complain about in regards to just about every Asian grocery store (except H-Mart and Uwajimaya), and that is the lack of quality cuts of beef, particularly for dishes like sukiyaki, shabu shabu and bulgogi. For some reason, unless the grocer is specifically Korean or Japanese, youre not going to find these cuts of meat, even if the store carries other items from these cultural cuisines. I mean, if you sell mochi and miso, you need to step up and cover all the bases. But I digress.*steps off soapbox*Anyway, the prices are comparable and competitive, and come with the good feeling that youre putting money into the hands of locals in your community (unless I am grossly mistaken) instead of a larger commercial entity. Most of the staff go about their business without getting into yours, and leave you to your own devices, unless you seek them out specifically.Overall, I come back to Lily Market for its tremendous selection of exotic items, and reasonable prices, even if I have to find my gyuniku elsewhere. If you wish for Asian dishes, dont be silly, shop at Lily!

Excellent Thai grocery store with prepared hot food. The Northern Thai sausages and sweet sausages are amazing. Very good selection. Super nice Thai speaking staff.

Great selection in this little market. I even found Korean pears for my kalbi marinade. Awesome selection of products. Staff was very nice and helpful. So many things I will be returning for for recipes and just to try some new things.

Has great food but is always an absolute mess, which makes it difficult to shop without feeling claustrophobic. And the staff is very unwelcoming, except for one guy. Would be willing to rate more stars and overlook the clutter if the staff were a little more friendly.

I placed an order for eggrolls today to be picked up at 1:30. The lady I placed the order with assured me that they would be hot and crispy when I pick them up. I got there at one and the egg rolls were cold and soggy. Very disappointed in this order. The eggrolls were mostly glass noodles with very little of anything else

This market is family owned & operated by the same family since the early 80s.Minority & woman owned, this family business has done so much for the community & genuinely cares for their customers & employees.Their deli is amazing, delicious & very authentic. Best place also to buy snacks from Asia, they have a lot of options & are super affordable.

We stopped by and bought some the items, when we got home we got 15 items in the bags and they are charged 18 items three of them item were charged twice, sometime the cashier not very nice, but the man who own the store is very nice, he greating us every time we walked in if he is present.

Such a great Asian market, Im sure they have anything you could possibly need. Shelves and shelves of cooking ingredients as well as fresh produce and cooking utensils. They also have a deli in the back with hot and cold food to go. I got pad Thai and a chicken curry that was amazing! The pork buns were delicious. I will definitely be back to try more of their food!

Best Thai hot food to go in Portland. This is authentic Thai food to go supermarket. They have small seating outside during covid condition. The prices for hot food is cheap. If you want great take out Thai food this is the place to go.

Run by a Thai family, they have tons of food supplies. If you are planning to cook Rad Na, this is the place to get the rice noodles. I’ve loved this store for years. Luckily I don’t have to drive across town any more, because I live 1.5 miles away! It always takes the Chef in me to a different place, the staff/family are wonderful and always willing to help & advise, and the product selection is astounding.

The deli food is better than any local Thai restaurant. Their larb is generously seasoned without being overwhelming and loaded with fresh herbs. Watch out for the tiny green chilies. They are hot! For hot foods, the bamboo and coconut chicken dish is our favorite. The pad Thai is usually perfect, though occasionally a bit fishy, which I dont care for, but some enjoy this. Everything weve tried here is very good. The business is family owned. The vibe is friendly and accommodating. Theyve shared recipe tips and recommendations, (although once, this meant that they talked me out of buying one of their products when they discovered it wasnt the flavor I was looking for). Its not always easy to find recipe starter/season packets that are free of preservatives and msg, but Lily Market has a good amount of these. Look for Asian Home Gourmet. They are in the middle of the store against the west wall in the flavoring packet display. Theyre more toward the left of this display, kind of middle bottom. Weve never been disappointed. Also, near the cash register on the north side of the store (where the deli is) theres coconut milk with no preservatives or added ingredients -just coconut- at a much better price than any other store. Every kind of soy sauce, rice vinegar and noodle known to man lives here. Staff is awesome. Family-owned; friendly, long-time staff. Inexpensive produce for making Asian-inspired meals. Freshly prepared foods available daily to enjoy if you stop by for lunch.

My favorite Asian grocery in the extended Portland area. This is a small establishment with narrow packed isles, but the prices and variety are excellent. The product is mostly Thai based, but theres a good amount of other options as well. Produce is a little lacking. Hot food is super tasty(!) and very well priced.

You would have never thought that the best Thai/Lao food comes from here. A friend told me about this amazing place and Ive been hooked ever since. Customer service is beyond excellent and they do their best to get to everyone when it gets extremely busy. I recommend you call ahead so you dont have to wait if youre in a rush. I drive 8 miles every week or so to get my fix and to me it is worth it. I wish I could give 10 stars!

A little cramped, but lots of variety. Great customer service is a hit or miss. I really do miss Noi or her dad being there. They were always cheerful and full of conversation. Although the aunt rarely smiles, I dont mind her so much. Prices could be better, but some things are only available here or at one other store in the Portland area.

I love this place. The fresh produce is very good and affordable. The hot food there is perfect! Pad Thai, curry, fried rice, salad rolls and much more. Raw coconuts are a sweet treat for fresh coconut water, and never cost more than a buck and change. My favorite Market!

Great little market, everything is very authentic. They serve fresh dishes everyday and sometimes fried banana! The staff if friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. If you need help cooking something let them know and they will set you in the right direction! :)

This is such an amazing market and the people running it are super nice. I believe they specialize in Thai / Vietnamese products which are my favorites. Fish sauce should go on most everything. Anyways, swing in and check it out. Great store for sure.

Its an okay Asian store, their service isnt that bad. They have a couple of cashiers, one is older and one is younger, who are not friendly to people. They always have this frown on their face. I also wish they would make something different in their hot deli. They seem to make same dishes every day for years.

Being Thai, it is a challenge to find real quality Thai products and ingredients. Especially, if you cook a lot Thai foods. Also, Lily Market sells plenty of other Asian products, to include some Japanese and Korean. The owner and employees are friendly and approachable. The little eatery inside is also a nice touch for those who may want a quick bite of Thai food or other Asian style foods, when available. One of my definite must go to markets in Portland.

Fantastic Food Options and a wide array of Asian groceries to choose from (like Thai, Vietnamese, and Filipino). Was able to get a reasonably priced lunch and get all the ingredients to make sinigang and Thai red curry. Will definitely re-visit in the future. Owner was also extremely friendly

Love this market, lunch place. Its super clean and has a great selection of all Asian products, canned,bottled fresh veggies, great ground pork (not too fatty) and the plate lunch with a Thai iced tea is quite good. Try the lemongrass sausage for lunch with some chow fun-youre welcome !

I really dislike speaking badly of others, much prefer just to talk up the good. However, if u order the noodles from the back make sure u look thoroughly before u eat.

So friendly. Great option for Thai and Lao style grocery shopping to the BIG BOX over on 82nd. Family owned and operated always hands on and willing to answer questions. PLUS the deli/cafe counter might be some of the BEST THAI FOOD in Portland. Their Pad Thai is my favorite Pad Thai (including the noodles I get in Thailand)- but everything is great and flavorful.

We usually come here for the takeout and milk teas. Very tasty stuff and reasonably priced. Great Asian market in general and deceptively large (looks small from the street).One of the few things well miss when we move out of the neighborhood.

The prepared foods are delicious. I love the lemongrass sausages, steam buns, and tapioca balls filled with pork. The store is fun to look around and has a large selection for its small size.

I love this store. They have a great selection of Thai and Filipino products. They also have hard to find fruit and vegetables. Their kitchen puts out amazing Thai food and the staff is always very friendly to us.

What an awesome place for lunch! Head to the back of the grocery store to the deli counter. They have already made chicken, pad thai, buns, and more. Super easy to order and tastes decent too.If I have time on my lunch break, Ill also browse the sweets aisle or the teas and see if anything calls to me. They have a lot of other food items so definitely check out the whole store your first time here!

Hands down the best Thai food Ive had in Portland. Ive been going here for years and I finally got around to leaving a review.This is not a restaurant, per se, but they have a deli and a seating area. Their salad rolls are to die for, and they serve several other Thai dishes, including homemade Thai sausages that are delicious. If you get there after 6 or 7 pm, they clear the hot bar out, but never fear - they still take custom orders that theyll make for you then and there for a small extra fee. Also, anything left over from the days hot bar gets discounted after about 7 - good deal.Besides the ready-made food, they have a great grocery selection, with dry goods, produce, meat and frozen items. The prices are very good - about as low as Ive seen in Portland-area Asian markets. They specialize in Thai foods, but have some other Asian products as well.In short, I highly, highly recommend this place! Not only is it tasty and the grocery prices are good, but its also family-owned. Support local businesses!
