This is by far the BEST bike store in Portland IMO if you want top notch builds, and top shelf brands. Mitch is the bees knees (keeping it safe for kids reading this) and is sure to bring a good laugh at every visit on top of his mega knowledge of all things bike (and more)! To top it off, the service crew are total pros and super friendly. What more do you want!
Just bought a new bike from Cyclepath! This is the second bike that I have bought from them. First one was in 2018. They gave great service both times! They will do anything custom that you want. The bike I bought had parts on it that I did not want. They happily switched them out for the ones that I wanted while I waited. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The owner also works there as a mechanic (and I am sure does many other things). He put my bike together and did a great job. I even happened to see him on the trail the next day and had a nice conversation with him. I highly recommend this shop!
I brought my last century Gary Fisher in to see if they could do something about the uncomfortable grips and the owner dug around until he found some discontinued parts that would fit (with some trimming) and put them on while I waited. Gave me a great price. Thats just great customer service. If I was in a market for a new bike I would definitely give these folks my business.
Mitch and the Cyclepath team are out of this world! Through a crazy series of events they helped me recover my beloved stolen Roubaix. On top of that they offer first class service and are just standup people! All my bike related business is going to Cyclepath!
Came in here to help a friend look for a new bike. I knew this shop would be pricey, but I did not expect the people to be as stuck up as they were. The guy helping us casually walked away while showing us bikes when we told him we wanted to stick under $5k for a new gravel/wide tire bike. He could have said that they didnt have any, but instead he just walked away. He then just stared at us as he talked to another employee behind the counter. Eventually someone else came down and talked us through some other bikes they had. Eventually didnt have anything in the right size. Not sure I ever want to suggest someone to go to a bike shop where they are stared at and talked about? What are these customer service standards?
We dropped off two bikes to be serviced after being stored for about a year.Check brakes, gears, oil, tighten etc...We paid $100 only to have the brakes not work properly on both bikes, and for one of them to not change gears. We ended up takeing the bikes to a different shop to get fixed properly. Not worth the time or effort.
Really helpful staff, I was looking for a wheel set, and they were able to hook me up at a great price and convert the wheel set so that it fit my rim.
I bought a Cervelo bike from Cyclepath a couple of years ago. I really like the bike. Well, I wiped out a few days ago (went around a curve too fast and slid out). When I contacted the shop they looked over the bike that day and had it fixed the next day. And this was during Covid when most things related to bikes are slooow. I was really pleased with how they took care of me.
A great local bike shop with a beer tap as well....
I was looking to buy a bike and when I researched the web I came across Cyclepath and saw that it had great reviews. After talking to Bill and his knowledge and expertise of the bike I was looking for, I now know why this shop has great reviews. So i decided to buy and Bill wasted no time of getting the bike delivered ASAP. It was such a great experience and awesome customer service that I decided to buy another bike from Cyclepath. Bill and Mitch are good people with long experience and excellent customer service. Their customer first approach is what keeps people like me coming back in the future. Thanks Bill and Mitch!
I know we’ve been all making adjustments due to health concerns, but upon arriving shortly after their leisurely opening time Saturday 1p, was pretty disappointed to not even be greeted after 15 minutes waiting outside when I was told to “just come by” after speaking with staff the day before. Observed at least 6 people inside, one of whom I am pretty sure touched just about everything in the store without buying anything. Two people walked out, then was told to stay outside to adhere to their two person capacity, guess I can’t subtract. Needless to say, I spent my money elsewhere. Hopefully others have a better experience than I did!
There’s a reason this shop is not only still in business, but thriving- in an world where you can order parts and bikes online for cheap and have them dropped off at your door. It’s because they handpick and stand by their products, and they are truly committed to setting you up and getting you riding for any adventure.I bought my first bike from them about 15 years ago- a Stumptown by Mountain Cycles. Specialized had sued Mountain Cycles because the bike’s name was too close to Stumpjumper. CyclePath bought all their remaining frames to show solidarity with a company that was put out of business by the over aggressive and unsympathetic industry giant. That ethos lives on in the shop to this day. The stoke factor is high, the vibes are non-pretentious, and the service is second to none. You can’t order that online. If anything negative, they can get flack for pushing unnecessary bike bling. But don’t buy what you don’t want. And perhaps springing for some locally made Chris King parts isn’t a bad idea after all?
These guys are amazing, + Mitch was super helpful - and really helped me out in a Covid crunch by finding the bike I needed in a hurry !
Brought my older Transition Scout back to life, and have been wonderfully helpful and patient answering every question Ive had.
Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Will definitely return.
Outstanding customer service! I will be back for my next bike or gear we need. Hunting for replacement brake lever I ask a competitor bike shop who else should I call? I was told Call Cyclepath as they have allot of high end bikes and parts. (Killer referral from a competitor) I called Cyclepath and not only did the have the part they said come on in with your bike and lets get it fixed. I was prepared to buy a whole new brake set but they figured how to replace just the small damaged parts with a replacement lever. They put a solid hour into fixing it and good as new. They billed me a very reasonable fee for both the parts and labor. I will be back for sure, they have a great selection of bikes and parts. But just the level of care they gave is the #1 reason. I get to ride with my boys this weekend because of the work they did on a bike not even bought from them. Next bike will be from their shop, same for parts. Its a 2hr round trip for me but it will be worth it. Again thank you Cyclepath team, I get to ride this weekend because of you.
I needed a set of road wheels and needed help figuring out exactly what I needed. Emailed with Michael a few times and was able to pick up a custom set of wheels within two days. Really happy with the True Love wheel idea - lifetime truing, and supporting a local business. Ill definitely be back.
The staff at Cyclepath is far and away the best Ive ever met at a local bike shop. Literally the only downside to this place is that theyre so over-the-top friendly AND knowledgeable that you always ended up losing track of time and staying in the shop longer than anticipated. Road bikes, mountain bikes, you name it and theyll get you set up with exactly what you need. Did I mention they have beer and awesome shop dogs? What else could you want? Thanks Bill, Mitch, and the entire team at the store!
Great shop. Incredible service. Thanks guys!
This place is amazing. Super knowledgeable and friendly staff, repairs are always top notch, and the prices are very reasonable.
Great selection of components and gear (more than the website would indicate). Very helpful selecting and installing a headset. Ill be back!
Terrific bike shop! Brought a wheel in to be checked out and was in and out in 20 minutes. Good covid protocol, friendly staff, awesome bikes. Will definitely be back to get some beer on tap once covid is over and thats acceptable again
I highly recommend this shop. Bill helped me with a custom build and was extremely responsive, flexible, and kind. Offered great deals and was willing to source products when other shops were not. Thank you Cyclepath!
Outstanding customer service and knowledgeable staff. Super friendly. Great bike shop.
I’ve had a couple custom bikes built up here as well as several services. Here’s the deal, I know very little about cycling but I love riding bikes and I appreciate quality, these guys (and gals) have treated me kindly and never made me feel dumb even though I kind of am when it comes to knowing all the nuances of bikes and their geometry etc... I’m really grateful they are in business and building really interesting high quality bikes to make people smile. The stuff they sell is expensive not because it’s marked up super high but because they tend to sell the higher end bikes and bike parts. Because they actually know about the parts and have a really skilled team of mechanics they are a super strong overall value for what you get.
I recently decided it was time to upgrade my Mt. bike which was pretty long in the tooth, totally outdated technology. I have several friends who deal with Cyclepath regularly and recommended I go there. The entire staff really are in tune with the bikes and explaining the technology. I really want to understand every bit and piece of the bike and how it will perform, pros and cons etc. I have bought a lot of very nice bikes in the last 30 years, and this buying experience was great. Bill and crew are awesome...
High end mountain bike shop. Most people make the mistake of focusing only on the bike and not the shop from where they buy it. With CyclePath you get a great bike AND and great shop. Cyclepath knows how to treat people. They went above and beyond my expectations to get me on the trail ASAP. Even months after my bike purchase, they continue to treat me as a valued customer. Each staff member loves to talk shop, too. They all ride, enjoy talking about riding, and will spend whatever amount of time with you in order to understand your needs and get you on the right bike.
Needed my hydraulic brakes repaired, they fixed it so fast putting in some new fluid. I called 6 bike shops and they were available for a quick look and a quick repair! So thankful.
I brought my bike in for a fork swap. They took it right then and there. Rye and Cody the bike mechanics, are top notch guys. They answered all my questions, talked me through pros and cons of some shocks I was looking at. They absolutely made me feel like I was valid and wanted to genuinely help. HIGHLY knowledgeable, HIGHLY recommend this place. They will be my go to. Thank you both.
This is hands down the best shop in the PNW.First of all, the employees were very helpful. I never felt pressured, they know their bikes, and it did not have a pretentious vibe despite all the high end bikes and gear you see in the shop. They have all my favorite mtb brands: Evil, Pivot, Transition, and Yeit. Most importantly, they have them in stock so you are actually able to demo and make sure the fit is right. Most shops that I have been to usually dont have all the sizes available. They let me demo even though it was raining and I brought the bike back dirty.I am from Seattle, but decided to buy my bike here mainly because of the great customer service and of course the tax break LOL.The bike frame I eventually decided on was not in stock but they had a complete built bike in stock. They offered to remove the components from the bike and sell me the frame. That is what you call customer service.Cyclepath has a new lifelong customer as long as Bill owns the shop. Mitchell, Zach, and Cody were also amazing and provided the best customer service in the bike industry. They were patient despite my many phone calls!
I’ve had a mountain bike wheel set build up here, as well as routine maintenance on my Evil cause who wants to mess with carbon and bearings at home?! What really sets them apart was my wife’s very positive experience buying a bike last week. We were interested in a demo but the size was too small and she ended up getting a great deal on a new bike. They swapped the dropper to a different model (for no charge) to make sure the fit worked and she’s stoked to get her first ride on it this weekend.
Love this shop!!!!!! Bill is just amazing!!!! So responsive. Bought the sickest bike ever from him. Great price. Can’t say enough.
This is a great bike shop selling great bikes and I’ve really enjoyed shopping here. When I had an issue with a bike service they went above and beyond to make it right.
Great Staff. Fantastic Service. I Highly Recommend.
For almost 3 months Ive been working on a build with Cyclepath and the experience has been amazing. Even before I put down my deposit they probably had a combined 10 hours invested in helping me choose between a number of great options. I spot checked some of their information against manufacturer details and their advice was always accurate. Ill update the review after picking up the bike tomorrow. UPDATE: as expected the guys at the shop were fantastic. Started off with the most scientific bike fitting (Retul) from Bill then made a few last minute adjustments. Can I give them 6 stars?
Really helpful staff with great suggestions!
We bought a pivot 5.5 used demo bike from this shop and unfortunately when I was cleaning it I spotted a crack. Cyclepath went beyond good customer service and replaced the frame not only that, they lent me a bike while the frame was getting shipped. Bill, Mitch and his crew also gave us a free tee-shirt with it. We cant control the bad things that happen in life but I couldnt have asked for this situation to be handled more professionally! Thanks again!
I truly love this shop!! Amazing expertise at the highest level with no attitude. They have been so kind to my son over the years for his small and inexpensive needs and always treated me kindly as well. A high end shop with grounded down to earth values, highly recommended!!!
Thank you for being open during this crazy time and also maintaining fair pricing!
Great shop, friendlier than most of the other shops Ive been to in the area. They are very knowledgeable and do high quality work. Ive started to do less of my own work because its such a pleasure working with them.
Had a great experience at the shop. They were able to get me fixed up and back on the trails in no time. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable. 👌🏼
Absolutely love this bike store. the employees are very small town oriented, friendly atmosphere. i stopped by to look at a few of the niner bikes and see what fit the best. one thing that really stood out was that the employee i spoke with seemed more concerned about making sure the frame fit was good and i was happy with the bike than he was making a sale. really a nice shopping experience and a business i would very much like to see stay in business.
I ordered some fenders for my mountain bike and shipped to Canada. Excellent service from Mitch and his team. Shipment showed up in excellent condition and in great time.
My husband recently bought me a used Moots frame online. We brought it to cyclepath along with components for them to build for me. We paid for a fitting session with Bill so we could get the right post, stem and handlebars. It was worth every penny! He explained everything and the service from other staff was fantastic! Thanks Cyclepath, we wont go anywhere else!
What is left to say? Great service, expertise, repairs, and this place is like a candy shop for bike enthusiasts. Friendly shop that makes their customers feel like family. I will continue to give them my business as long as I can pedal a bike!
I walked in 1 hr before closing on Saturday because my bike was jumping gears. The staff was quick to figure out what was wrong & recommend replacement of select parts. I heard the recommendations & was worried about price but they kept the parts & service at a great rate. On top of the great service & price, they were able to repair my bike prior to closing. I could not have asked for more than to walk in near closing time & have my bike fixed while I waited at a great price. I will definitely return.
Cyclepath has a wonderful selection of top end goodies but they work hard to put together a build(or repair) on a budget you are interested in. I have bought several bikes from them with varying levels of budget and in all cases I trust them to get it right the first time. There are many shops in Portland to choose from but this is my top choice due to quality of workmanship.
I acquired a flat in the neighborhood and rushed to the nearest bike shop. The staff were about to lock the doors, as it was a few minutes after closing. Instead, they welcomed me in, quickly repaired my flat and pointed out a few minor items that needed to be later addressed on my bike. Thanks for the great service guys!
Best shop in Portland for MTB and gravel bike customization.
Bill and his crew are great. Very knowledgeable and patient. If youre thirsty (and 21 or better), they might even pour you a fresh beer.
These guys are great. Nice to have a top notch mountain bike store. They know the culture and whats what. I will for sure be returning.
The crew at Cyclepath do good work: quality tune-ups, wheel building, and even custom decals. Love their creativity and craftsmanship.
These guys bend over backwards to take the time to explain their products and to provide great service. I wouldnt take my bikes (4) anywhere else. Their service is fast and they treat your bike like their own. They really do love bikes.
I couldnt afford anything in this store--not because the prices were high, but because they carry nice products--but the people there were great. Very helpful, even to someone who strolls up on a crappy old 80s road bike. Great shop without the cocky attitude of some others.
You cant beat the knowledge the staff has or the curation of bikes. If its cool or new, theyre on it. If you have a problem or crazy issue, they fix it. These guys get health insurance...from an LBS. You cannot beat a shop like Cycle Path. Your machine will be treated like its on the pro tour.
You want a new bike for a quarter of the cost? Take your 3 year old quality trail bike to Cyclepath and let their wizard mechanics gut it to the frame, lube it and rebuild it from the ground up, replacing and servicing what needs to be done.Whalla! A new(ish) bike that feels awesome and shreds the trail better than youve ever done in the past. Magic.
Super friendly staff and was very aware of bicycles their parts. A plus is they have two adorable loving dogs there.
Super friendly and quick service.
I will be honest. A year ago I was skeptical and even left a snarky review. However Cyclepath didnt give up on me. Bill and staff were patient, talked to me and made me a loyal customer. They helped me with my custom 1x11 road build and I dont think I could have sourced all the parts without their help. Thank you and I will definitely see you all more often.
I updated my review here from one to 4 star, because I appreciate the owner reaching out to me by phone and apologizing for the mishaps. The correct Muddhuggers are on the way and I can keep the send ones as a gift. My major concern was that my emails were not acknowledged but it looks like my emails landed unfortunately in their spam folder. I believe now that it happened by technical error and they do care about their customer service. Sorry for the previous review and I hope this helps other customers. Please provide tracking numbers it really saves time and effort!
These folks know their stuff. Informative, friendly and willing to take on a quick adjust if repair and customer traffic allows. Cycle Path gets my personal Good in the Hood thumbs up.
I have purchased three bikes from CyclePath now. I love every single one of them. They went above and beyond making sure my bikes were exactly what I wanted and needed. They truly gave each one of them the custom bike love.I take my bikes for service there as well and I walk out every time so excited about the attention to detail. They never try to up-sell me. They have actually saved me money by suggesting comparable but more affordable solutions to my pipe dream ideas. I could not be more happy with each and every trip I take to CyclePath.I look forward to the next bike I get.. then the next... and so on and so forth.Thank you guys!
A really excellent bike shop in NE. Mitch and his team are friendly, communicate quickly and offer great deals. Im loving my Cervelo R3, and the set up from Mitch. Highly recommended!
Great service! They always have the super high-end gear, but Bill and crew also expertly worked with me when I was building up a more budget friendly commuter.
Awesome friendly service. Bikes you cant find anywhere else in town. A solid bike saddle demo program.
Friendly people who have the knowledge and proper parts in stock to get you on the trail or road, plus cold beer on tap. Top notch, thanks guys!
Best shop in town. Knowledgeable staff for wheels, repairs and sales plus just a great group of people!!
Really great staff. Helpful and not typically bike shop snobs.
Cold beer sweet bikes and the best bike mechanics in the city!
Nice place if you want to buy Cervelos, Niners or Moots. Some of the bikes were $1000 off. They will also order any of those brands if you want. All of the road bikes were disc-brakes, no rim-brakes that I could see. They also had a lot of cyclocross and mountain bikes. The guy I spoke to was very knowledgeable and helpful.
I have been a customer at CyclePath for more than ten years. I dont write online reviews very often, but I wanted to give one for Bills shop because, in a city with many wonderful people in the bicycle industry, Bill stands out for his sincerity and integrity . What you will get is definitely custom bike love, so, hats off to one of the best bike shops there is.
I was looking for a shop that could face & ream a 1 & 1/8 head tube (Im building a custom bike from scratch). Talked to Coventry, and they didnt have the right tools, but they recommended Cyclepath, so I went there.Walked in, was immediately attended to, and told the person who helped me what I needed. He said no problem, and started right in on it. Since I had the headset with me, I asked if he would also press it in since I was there. The answer was sure.Less than 20 minutes later, I was a happy camper. They only charged me $25 for the service and were quite friendly and professional. Nice job Cyclepath - I will be back!
Moved here from California early in 2016 and was looking for a shop to go to ..... Visited just about all the shop in the Portland area but the only shop making me feel right at home is this shop CyclePath, the guys are very friendly and very knowledge about bikes too :)
I highly recommend Cycle Path. Bill, Cody and Mitch provided an absolute first class buying and bike fitting experience for my new Cervelo.
My first experience as a customer I found them to be knowledgeable and accommodating. I will certainly shop there again.
CyclePath is a wonderful shop. If youre serious about mountain biking and cross this is the shop for you. The extremely knowledgable staff will get you rolling and out on the trails in no time. Its important to know that Cyclepath is a higher end shop. Youre paying for quality here. Go in knowing that these bikes arent entry level bikes. These are bikes you can ride for a long time and be very happy doing so.With so many bike shops in Portland it can be a bit overwhelming where to actually shop. These guys are not only wonderful people but really know their stuff too.Theyre active in the Portland Cycling community and just an all around great shop.Bill and the boys helped me find a 29er full suspension mountain bike that has been fantastic. Like I said, Portland has so many shops. Almost to many choices. These guys are the read deal and I highly recommend supporting them.
Could be friendlier service, quick n good items! Good sales.
These fellas know cycling, cycles
I went in for a replacement innertube. When i told them what size i needed I was treated like I didnt know what I was Doing. He took my wheel from me to make sure and sold me a different tube with a valve stem that is awkwardly long
I bought a bike here, they were very helpful and it was a painless process
This might just be a one time thing but I was not impressed at all by this shop. Took my dirt jumper in bc my hydrolic brake line was clogged and ended up having to buy a whole new brake package which is fine bc they didnt charge me labor for trying to fix my old brake line but after riding for a day I noticed that my back tire was rubbing on my frame when the frame is barley flexed and the chain keeps falling off. These things I can tweek on my own but come on this shouldnt every be a problem. with so many other bike shops in portland I would take any of them over these guys. A fixed gear dirt jumper shouldnt be a problem for a bike shop. sorry for the bad review but you guys dropped the ball on this one.
One of two shops I trust in Portland. Cyclepath supports the sport and will bend over backwards to make you happy.
Low quality yet expensive, poor customer service and poor location
Friendly staff, knowledgeable mechanics & sales staff, nice atmosphere for a bike shop.
The best bike shop Ive been to on the West Coast.
Great mechanics. Nice dudes.
Favorite bike shop in town. Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff.
Great shop!
