The best first activity to do in downtown Portland! We did the Intro to Portland tour and our guide Todd was incredibly knowledgeable about the the history and current state of the city. He provided many excellent suggestions and tips as well. All done in an easy conversational style. It felt like a bike ride with a friend who happens to know a lot about his city. The ride itself was nice and easy with just a couple very small hills. I will definitely be back for one of their other tours in the future!
We did the downtown tour this morning and it was great. Our tour leader Ana was super knowledgable and really friendly, chatting and giving us heaps of advice along the way. She even spent the time mapping out cool places for us to go once our tour was done. Id highly recommend this tour and wed gladly come back to Portland and do this again. Perfect for those wholl only be in town a few days. You really get to see a whole lot in such a short amount of time. Thanks again Ana!
Scotland the tour guide was the only thing better than the tour itself. A great time, highly recommended!!
Hight Highly Highly recommend the Gorge tour. Worth every penny, fun ride, really beautiful areas. Had an incredible guide (Mason from OKC), who was really friendly and informative. They have bike rentals too that are super reasonable. Next time Im in PDX Ill be sure to visit.
My wife and I were visiting Oregon for the first time. While in the Portland area, we found Pedal Bike Tours. The Columbia River Gorge tour looked like a good one. We showed up at their store and were sized up for bikes and helmets. Our tour guide was Daniel. This tour involves a van ride of about 45 minutes to a drop off point near the Columbia River Gorge. Daniel pointed out the points of interest along the way. When we arrived, we unloaded our bikes and prepared for our ride. We were given directions to ride to our first stop, one of several waterfalls we would visit that morning. The biking road was very nice, it was smooth and wound about somewhat and the traffic was minimal. It had been rainy, but that day we were fortunate to have great weather. Daniel drove the van up ahead and met us at each of our stops. The waterfalls were all beautiful, especially the Multnomah which is I believe the most famous of Oregons waterfalls. It is also the most visited and it was quite crowded there. All in all, it was a fun and pleasant tour. Daniel was knowledgeable and interesting and a fun guide. It was a great way to see the sights and get a little bit of fresh air and exercise at the same time. Would gladly do it again.
Best and fastest way to get to know any city and this was no exception. We did the Downtown Portland Tour and Kieran was a fantastic tour guide: knowledgeable, professional, fun, and adaptable. It was a warm day so lots of stops in the shade and talks about the history of Portland made this a great tour that I highly recommend.
Wonderful experience, really great beers, very nice bike ride. Overall would recommend to all beer drinkers. Glen would recommend to all ages because he likes beer.
Great way to see the city! Knowledgeable guides and a good time! Two thumbs up!
The donut bike tour was fantastic! I chose the donut tour rather than the Intro to Portland tour since it was easier to get our young kids excited about the donuts. But we were still able to get a great deal of excellent Portland history and insider info along the way. It was a lovely ride- Portland is an amazingly chill place for biking downtown. We used a trail-a-bike for one of our kids and a trailer for the other- makes it really easy to bring kids along. It was so neat to check out all the different donut places - such a fun way to get a great snapshot of the city. And Daniel was an awesome guide- he’s a native Oregonian and knows the city and the countryside well- as well as many other countries. Ask him about his bike trip from Mexico to Panama! He also gave us tons of great recommendations for places to eat and more things to do with the kids in the city. If we had more time, I would do all the Pedal Bike tours!
Great tour of the Columbia River Gorge! Tour guide was awesome
Amazing day trip outside of Portland. We experienced the stunning beauty of the Columbia River Gorge and waterfalls up close with some of the most scenic biking trails Ive ever been on plus some fantastic hiking through breathtaking wooded trails. This is the perfect trip for anyone looking to experience some of the stunning beauty of the Pacific Northwest up close. Kieran was the ideal guide - knowledgeable, helpful and interesting. I STRONGLY recommend this tour.
We pedaled the Historic Downtown Tour with Dan the Man - he was fantastic! Tour was thorough, entertaining, and inspired additional curiosity. So we decided to rent bikes for the rest of our time in Portland and continue exploring areas detailed in the book Pedal Portland/Todd Roll, pictured herein, also available at the bike shop. By next week well practically be locals!
I rented a bike here for a week. Scotland is a really nice, very helpful guy! Highly recommended!
Jay and Mason did a great job showing us around and telling us about the history of Portland. Well worth it
Just after our boys turned 7 + 9 this Summer, we took them on a 1.5 trip to Portland, the Willamette Valley, Mt. Rainier, Seattle and many points in between. In Portland, we were fortunate enough to get a tip about Pedal Bike Tour, which luckily enough, was just around the corner from our hotel on the way to Voodoo Donuts.Jamie was our guide there and he didnt disappoint at all! Great fun leader, fantastic with the kids, had us biking down the long hill along the old majestic highway hitting all the historical and pictorial sites and view points, and hiked up to each and every waterfall along the way. Given it was 99F during the Summer heatwave, the kids & I even showed him how to wade out into the pool and take a cool-down shower under the falls!Made for some great unique pictures, the kids learned a lot (as did us adults), we all picked up lots of additional insider tips for the Portland and nearby areas, ate well, bought fresh fruit roadside, and in general had a blast. We were a family of 4 paired up with another family of 4, and they were just delightful. Fun to be with, but each family also had plenty of their own quality time as well.It was a long and tiring day, but boy, it was the probably the best day we had the whole trip! Thanks to my wife for arranging, researching and getting the tips. We cant wait until the kids are a bit older and we can do an even longer tour with Pedal Bike Tours, hopefully some off-road single track mountain biking as well.If you have the chance, ask for Jamie - he was fantastic and really knew how to make a tour special for kids and adults of all ages, from interesting facts & figures, to funny kids stories, and getting everyone built up for the big downhills while also staying safe and in single file. Nothing but 5-stars for these gals & guys!Seth
Anna was amazing! This is the second pedal bike tour I’ve done and both times have been so lovely! If you’re new to Portland, I’d highly suggest this cheap and fun activity to help you navigate the city! Anna was kind, knowledgeable about the area and history, and was full of amazing food suggestion! Thanks for making our vaca the best, Anna!
Great Downtown Portland tour...a great and very safe place to bike! highly recommend!!
Dan the manager its the Man! Everyone that works there is really cool and very friendly. I will strongly recommend this place to any one with a bike plus they do work on electric bikes as well which its always a plus!!!😀👌🤙
We set out on the Columbia River Water Fall Tour at 9:00 am during Labor Day Weekend. I highly recommend this tour for a few reasons: 1) Daniel was a great guide and we learned all about the area and its development. 2) The ride was fun, 11 miles and basically 90% down hill, Portlanders are very bike friendly and bicycles are considered the same as motor vehicles, so you can ride on the road and rivers were very careful when passing. 3) If we had driven our selves we would have had to deal with parking issues, finding the waterfalls and deciding which falls to see. We saw 6 water falls and in my opinion Multnomah Falls which was extremely crowded was the least spectacular of the trip! Thanks Daniel!
One of the best ways to truly see and experience all of Portland’s hidden gems. Ana was a rad guide who knew so many cool things about the city. She was also super funny and was awesome to kill 3 hours with. Highly recommend taking a tour with her! Five stars!
This was our favorite part of our honeymoon! Jamie went above and beyond on our Columbia River Gorge tour to make sure we had a great time! He even took photos of us hiking together. He was very knowledgeable and was able to give us plenty of background on the area. Lots of laughs and fun. Would highly recommend this tour and Jamie. Thank you Jamie!
One of my favorite things to do when I go to a new city is do a bike tour. And a big part of a good bike tour is the tour guide and for Pedal Bike Tours, Ana was amazing. She was super knowledgeable, really friendly and had great energy. It was great being part of her crew. I really felt like I got to understand how Portland developed and what it is like currently. We covered quite a bit of ground and got to see the major sites of Portland. It was great. Thanks again Ana!
We just finished the Columbia River Gorge bike and hike tour. Our guide Daniel was super friendly and very well informed about the history of Portland, Oregon and its surroundings. Both the biking and hiking were very easy and all of the waterfalls we got to visit were breathtaking. At the end of the tour Daniel left us with lots of great tips for the rest of our stay in Portland and Oregon. We had a great time!
My wife and I just finished a tour with Jamie. It was one of the best tours weve had and we make sure we do a bike tour in every city we visit. Jamie was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Portland and it was a great way to see a huge chunk of this cool town and also get a locals perspective. Would highly recommend.
We took the donut tour and it was more of a mini tour of the downtown Portland area with stops at different donut shops. Our guide Jamie was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Skipping the line at Voodoo was a nice perk, although you dont actually go into the store but I would imagine if you did it would be shoulder to shoulder so he just went in for us to get what we wanted.
Had an awesome experience with Jason & Grey at Pedal Bike Tours. Needed to rent bikes for the day while visiting Portland. Called up and Jason helped us with great advice on bikes for riding the Leif Erickson Trail in Forest Park. Had us in and out ready to ride providing a great map and advice on parking too. Grey helped fit us and get us going. Would highly recommend! Super helpful with no attitude found at some bike shops. 💯 5 ⭐️’s
I am a bit late in my review but I wanted to make sure I mention what an incredible time we had doing the bike brewery tour for our bachelorette trip. Daniel was super friendly and told us so much about Portland. He gave us great advice on what to do while in the city for the weekend. The breweries we went to were great. Overall, we had a fun Portland experience and I would definitely recommend doing the Pedal Bike tour while in Portland. It’s worth it!
Scotland was a fountain of fun, history and facts. He deftly drove the bike stacked van through crazy-packed tourist parking lots. Conversation was easy and offbeat from trail trash talk to science fiction. Impressive! considering the 35 hour drive and 4 month old baby!
Just did the Columbia river gorge ride/hike tour with Daniel and had a fantastic time. It was so nice to have a guide that knew so many little facts about the area. The whole experience was really enjoyable. If you have any sort of level of fitness you should be fine with the riding/hiking, most of the riding is down hill and really fun!
A great way to spend the morning. The weather was fantastic and it was matched by my guide Iraq. He really knows the city, the landmarks and the history to make it not only fun but very informative as well. It gave me some great ideas for where to jump off on my own when I can. Thanks again
My husband and I were visiting our son in White Salmon and stayed in Portland two days.I have read about the brewery bike tour and decided to check it out.Our guide, Daniel took us to the eastside of the town. He is friendly and easy to talk to, and was looking after us seniors on a bike. The ride was enjoyable and the beer tasting was fun. He even took us to a pretty rose garden in his old neighborhood.I highly recommend this tour.
I enjoyed solo downtown tour last week. All staffs were very kind and open to me regardless of my insufficient English skills. The tour was excellent and beyond my expectation. I could enjoy cycling, sight seeing and a cup of chocolate drink(yummy and cute) with a very friendly wonderful guide. I could learn Portland history and popular charm points though the 3-hour tour, although I had had little knowledge about Portland. I would like to join tours with my family next time. Thank you for the wonderful memory, Gannon and all staff members!
We had an awesome experience with these bikes. We rented two hybrids for the day and couldnt be more satisfied with price/bike/customer service. Jay was super helpful trying to figure out the best route to see the whole city. Hes really knowledgeable about the area and passionate about biking. Thanks for everything!
Came to Portland for a wedding and opted to try out the bike tour...best decision and way to see nature at its best! Went on the Columbia Gorge bike/hike tour with our awesome guide, Kieran!! He was great and he so much knowledge about the area and had great recommendations of things to do around the city. Most def recommend. I’m in love with the many beautiful waterfalls the Portland area has to offer.
Amazing tour! Would totally do it again. A great mix of biking riding through the mountains and hiking. Beautiful waterfalls stops! Ana was an amazing tour guide and was very knowledgeable. She shared lots of fun facts along the way too!
The Columbia River Gorge tour was the highlight of my trip to Portland. Our guide Jamie was super informative, professional, and passionate about Portland which made the experience super fun. The waterfalls and hiking trails were breathtaking. The bikes and helmets were in great condition. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Portland.
Just got back from a 4 wonderful days in Portland. One highlight was the Columbia River Gorge bike tour with Pedal Bike Tours. Anna was a perfect guide - super friendly, very knowledgeable and always watching out for the participants safety and comfort. We would definitely book a tour through Pedal Bike Tours in the future.
Enjoyed our bike tour with Kieran. He was very safe and made us feel comfortable riding on the streets. We had a good overview of West Portland although I would have loved to learn more about the historic buildings. Also, would suggest that the history lesson on the first stop be shortened. It was way too long. Luckily the rest of the information shared was more brief and more on point. Thanks for a nice afternoon!
My husband and I did the Columbia River gorge tour and had a fantastic time. Scotland, our tour guide, did a great job showing us around and was super friendly and filled with lots of Portland fun facts. We had a great time. For people wondering about difficulty level, I would say the bike route for this tour is not difficult but there are a few points of moderate uphill pedaling. Most of the ride was downhill. Overall, I would highly recommend this tour! Thanks Pedal Bike Tours!
Pedal bike tours are fantastic! My husband and I had a great time with Anais. She is very knowledgeable about the area and quick to give recommendations. We were the only two on the brewery tour and she did a great job of making it a fun experience for us. I would highly recommend!
Great tour! Daniel took us around town on the intro to Portland tour. I learnt a ton about the history of Portland. A ton of really interesting facts. He is full of knowledge. The ride is really mellow. Mostly flat or downhill with only a few short sections where you need to put any amount of effort in. Plus they give you 8 speed bikes so its no problem. There was also a mid ride break at a coffee/donut shop.At the end of the tour Daniel gave us a great restaurant pick for lunch. Delicious.
What an amazing tour! The sites are unbelievable. My guide, Kieran was so friendly and knowledgeable about the area and seemed to really enjoy leading up the tour. It was just him and I. Be sure to take his suggestions about hiking in/up to get the best views of the falls. I could not have been more pleased with the accommodations.
We had a blast riding with Kieran. Pedal Bike Tours is organized when checking in and really friendly. It was a group of 10 of us that rode around Portland for about 3 hours. As Portland is super bike friendly it felt safe, drivers even gave us the right of way on the streets. We learned a lot, epically about the Oregon Trail (it’s not just a game). Our favorite part was riding across the bridges - it was beautiful! This is definitely a fun way to see Portland and the bike ride wasn’t hard. You don’t even break a sweat so you won’t lose any of those donut calories. Sorry!
Wonderful experience on our Bike and Hike tour from Pedal Bike Tours, Portland, OR. Ana was AMAZING! She is was so much fun and knowledgeable about the area with some pretty neat fun facts. She got us set up quickly with our bikes, loaded us up on the van and off we went! We went about a half hour outside the city to view the Columbia River Gorge and many of its waterfalls. The biking and hiking was not strenuous at all. This is a great tour for all athletic abilities. Ana always made sure we had water or snacks if needed, was laid back and really made sure we experienced all we wanted to and never rushed us. We all really enjoyed talking with each other and enjoyed ourselves. I highly recommend asking for her as your guide!
We did the brewery bike tour with Pedal Bike Tours, and it was fabulous! Anna was our guide. The bikes were good, and the routes we took were really fun. It showed us parts of Portland we hadnt seen. Visited three breweries in three hours. Anna was a great guide. I did not want this tour to end, and I highly recommend it!
I make a point to take a bike tour in every city that I visit and the Introduction to Portland bike tour led by Kieran was great! He led us through Portlands downtown and waterfront and took the time to point out and explain the different areas and their historical significance. He is very friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. I would recommend this tour to my friends and family.
The Columbia River Gorge bike and waterfall tour was the highlight of my trip to the Portland area. The bike ride was mostly downhill on the Old Scenic Highway, which was exhilarating and beautiful riding through the forest. The waterfall hikes were stunningly gorgeous and a wonderful way to immerse yourself in nature. Be prepared for steep uphill and downhill hikes. They are a bit of a workout. Our guide Kieran was informative and willing to answer any question that we had about the Portland area. He even took us to a fourth waterfall since our group was small and we moved quickly. The bikes worked well. It was definitely worth the money to see so many natural sites in so little time with all the support of a guide, bike and van transport.
We had an awesome experience with Jamie on the brew tour. He clearly knows the city inside and out. The tour was laid back but still quite engaging. Learned much about local favorite spots as well as Portland history and culture. Highly recommend this tour.
A great tour. Our guide Daniel was awesome, and provided lots of information on Oregon flora, fauna, and history. Our two boys (ages 12 and 10) did the tour on their own (rental) bikes and loved it, but I would not do this tour with younger children on their own bikes
We had an absolute blast on our tour today with Daniel! It was a great mix of biking, hiking, and Portland history. The waterfalls were amazing! Make sure to bring some snacks as there’s no lunch stop and you’ll get hungry with all the exercise!
Gannon was our tour guide on the brewery tour. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. He introduced us to hidden gems that we would not have known about. Excellent tour and worth it!
If youre looking to explore and drink beer from some of the best breweries that Portland has to offer than this tour is for you.Ana, our tour guide was amazing! She was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and made the day a lot of fun!I highly recommend!
I really enjoyed our Intro to Portland bike tour this past weekend. Our guide, Daniel, was super nice and did a good job of explaining lots of history when we paused for frequent, short stops throughout the city. In contrast, we also did a walking tour the day before with a different group and the tour guide went on and on until 100% of the group had back pains. This bike tour was way better! It was 3hrs long but the pace was super chill, which is exactly what I needed since Im super preggo.I docked one star only because the seats were pretty stiff and both my SO and I had some soreness the next day.
Had a great time on two tours. The beer tour and the waterfall tour. Daniel was our guide. The waterfall tour was the best views ever. Lota of beautiful waterfalls to see. They even had a bike for vertically challenged people. There was a little pouch in the front of the bike in case you wanted to bring a battery pack. The weather was nice in September, not too cold or hot.
My husband took me on the Brewery Bike Tour as a surprise for our anniversary and we had the BEST time! Kieran is a fun, laid back, and very knowledgeable tour guide. He offers lots of fun facts about the Portland area and gives you ample time to taste and socialize at each brewery! Highly recommend!
Kieran was an amazing tour guide and made me enjoy Portland much more than Id imagined. He shared really cool info about the city along the way and was very mindful of the people who were holding on to dear life through the uphill areas (aka me). The donuts were really delicious although way sweeter than were used to in Spain :) Definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Portland and any locals who want to see the city through a new lens!
The gorge tour was fantastic! The bikes were very nice, the van was clean, and water and granola bars were a nice bonus. Daniel, our guide was super, had lots of good information about the area, kept the group moving at a perfect pace, and was even a great photographer. The waterfalls were spectacular and biking from one to the next was really fun.
We toured the Columbia River Gorge and 5 waterfalls. All was absolutely amazing. Our guide Daniel drove the van to each stop and we had the option to ride bike or van. Daniel knew a lot about Orgegon history. Would highly recommend this tour.
Ana was THE BEST!!! We did the brewery tour and had a great time. The whole group was friendly and very talkative. I should say that this was fun and we are not group tour type vacation people.
Ana was our tour guide and she was very entertaining as she pointed out all the lovely spots and more to visit on our free time! Would definitely recommend touring with her! I dont think I would have understood all the under-bridge biking systems without this tour! Hahaha.
This was our 2nd tour with Pedal Bikes in 3 years (first time as tourist, second time as locals), and it was very enjoyable! Ana was a great tour guide and had great information to share about Portland! We would definitely recommend it to anyone. Its not too physically taxing, and there is a break mid-way to enjoy some local snacks and coffee as desired. Again, Ana was great! So schedule your tour today! :)
Had an amazing experience doing the Gorge Tour. Our tour guide Evan was AMAZING. Super friendly and knowledgable. Provided a welcoming experience as well as a great historian on specific areas in mountains and on the tour. Gave great facts on the state and surrounding areas. The bike hike was amazing. Alight amount of mini hills which provided the workout but the scenery and experience made it worth it all. If never been to Portland highly recommend doing a Bike tour. Thank you again Evan, had an awesome time.
Great bikes at a great value, a stones throw from the Waterfront. Ive rented day bikes before that are super shoddy, but these bikes were in great shape and fun to ride. My daughters bike rental was only $15 for the entire day. Jason at the front desk is very helpful and will point you to some fine rides in the area.
We took the downtown bike tour with Jamie as our guide. I highly recommend him and this tour! He was very knowledgable about Portland and we learned a lot in a fun and easy going way. He personalized the tour just for us, since it was just my husband and me. Jamie was funny, engaging and his stories about Portland were interesting. We rode over bridges, along the water and through the city. Great way to be introduced to the area.
Me and a few girlfriends had a quick trip to Portland on the way to a wedding in Seattle and did two tours with Pedal Bike Tours- one was with Grey for the brewery bike tour which was a super easy bike and loved the breweries. And the second was with Kieran on for the Columbia Gorge bike and hike. The bike was also super easy but the hike was more challenging than I thought but very rewarding. I would recommend both tours!
I went on the brewery tour with Daniel and I was so pleased with my experience. Daniel was knowledgeable, personable, safe and accommodating. The tour had a really nice balance between history/ sightseeing and beer. As a solo traveler Daniel made sure I felt included. Portland is a great city and I think bikes and beer is the best way to see it. I also got a lot of great recommendations after the tour. Im here for a couple more days and I think I’ll be doing another tour with the company.
Signed up for a city tour and since I was the only person for that round they upgraded me to a brewery tour. That was really sweet of them. Everyone was very friendly and fun. Grey was our guide for the brewfest and was just so helpful and charismatic, doing their best to make us enjoy the trip throughout as we biked to three different craft breweries. Really wonderful experience, highly recommended.
A great way to spend a few hours touring the city. My 12 year old and I had a blast riding and seeing all the sites. Scot was a great guide - friendly and knowledgable! The bikes were in great condition too. The break for hot coco at Cacao was super!
Great tour! Our tour guide Daniel was very friendly and super knowledgeable about the tour route and Portland in general. Bike trails were mostly downhill so its an easy, scenic and enjoyable bike ride.
My wife and I took part on the Columbia River Gorge tour with our guide Kieran. It was a beautiful day spent cycling along the scenic old highway near the gorge. The cycling was mostly downhill so no worries if you are not an avid cyclist. While the scenery on the bikes was terrific the real highlights were the three waterfalls that we stopped at and walked/hiked around. The views were spectacular and Kieran had a wealth of knowledge about the area which added to the experience. A great day with a terrific guide. Highly recommend this tour if you are in the Portland area.
Really great tour, got to see a lot of the city while also learning about its history. Plenty of opportunities to ask questions if you wanted. Bikes were all well maintained and easy to ride. Kieran was a great guide, friendly and informative!
We did a Columbia Gorge Tour with Jaime and it was absolutely incredible. He was very knowledgeable and outgoing. He offered to take pictures of us without us having to ask. It was just my fiancé, Jaime, and I do the tour was very personal and we got to do above and beyond what I expected. I would absolutely do it again!
Great bike tour! I took the intro to Portland tour with Daniel and he took us all over downtown and across two of the bridges. I got to see a bunch of sights, many of which I probably wouldnt have walked or ridden to on my own. It was a ton of fun and well worth it!
We had a fun tour yesterday with Ana! She was knowledgeable about the area and was enthusiastic and engaged about her job! Thank you Ana for a great tour .
Grey was great! We learned a lot about Portland history, the different communities and really got a feel for the city then and now. We saw a lot and had fun going over the Steel Bridge at the end. Highly recommended for getting acclimatised to the city early on and the bikes are good quality.
My wife and I took the downtown Portland bike tour yesterday. We saw all kinds of interesting things while getting some history of Portland and Oregon. Kieran was an excellent tour guide. We are interested in trying some of the other tours next time we are in town.
Just did the Historic Downtown bike tour and it was awesome! Our tour guide Ana was fantastic. Great stories and fun little tidbits of history. Cant wait to try some of her restaurant recommendations. Portland is a beautiful city and seeing by bike is the only way to go!
The 3 hrs bike tour in the morning & it was an amazing experience. Kieran was our tour guide & he was great! He was very fun & informative. I highly recommend anyone new or visiting the city to definitely check it out. You get to see many parts of this city that you shouldn’t miss!
