Reserved online for SUP for George Rogers Park and was very easy to reserve and pay. The boards were older boards without any tethers or straps so wouldnt be able to strap anything down. The young teens who were manning the rental station were pleasant. The beach is dirt not sand so be prepared for that.

Rented a single and double kayak to get me and my boys out on the Tualatin River for a few hours of fun. The guys at the Browns Ferry location were fantastic, helped us get the kayaks down to the dock and did very well dealing with a not-so-nice patron wanting a kayak upon our return. Would definitely recommend renting from these folks if you want a fun adventure. Paddling the Tualatin is easy too, paddled from Browns Ferry to Cook Park and back with multiple stops in the half-day rental.Will definitely do so again.

I was interested in kayaking and took an introductory kayaking class through their retail store. I had such a great experience with Harrys class that I ended up getting set up with a boat and all the required equipment to start paddling this summer afterwards.A few months have passed and Ive done a couple of tours out of other Alder Creek locations and had amazing experiences at each one of them.Every person Ive Interacted with at Alder Creek has been very pleasant and they have been more than helpful with answers to my questions regarding boats and equipment. Because of this Im back for my second boat and a dry suit so I can keep on paddling through the winter.I would recommend Alder Creek to anyone looking to get into the sport 5/5

My first experience with Alder Creek was fantastic! I purchased a kayak online from their Jantzen Beach location and when I picked it up, they were very helpful to get me get setup with a few other things I needed.The staff is very knowledgeable and super friendly. Plus they seem to have an excellent selection of everything related to kayaking/ canoeing and, at least as of now (7/2/21), a good selection of kayaks to buy, used and new. They’re over an hour from where I live, but I will be back to get outfitted with gear from them as I need it.Thanks Alder Creek for being awesome 👏

My son and I rented a 2-seater canoe to explore the Tualatin River. The location was easy enough to find, and the two employees were very helpful. It was my first time in a canoe and they patiently and pleasantly answered my naive questions. The canoe was in great condition and well maintained.We will definitely be back here again.

Rented two tandem kayaks for two hours. It was a gorgeous afternoon. We paddled up river toward the bridge into the wildlife refuge. Got to see deer, herons, songbirds, osprey, vultures, all sorts of critters. Coming back downriver was a breeze and the assistant came to our rescue to get us through the narrow inlet safely on our way back to the boathouse. Our five year old even got a special little paddle just for little kiddos. Well definitely be back!

Great experience at George Rogers Park! We rented a tandem and singles...they were in great condition with storage for your things. Putting in and out was smooth and there was help if you needed it. Cant wait to go out again.

Very good inventory. Before I purchase my kayak they set up and let me try on water.Absolutely no pressure on customer. Will buy from them again; wet suit for colder months, rod holders, etc. I’m very happy with my 3 Waters 103 kayak.

Really neat paddle boarding area. Different for me than anything Id experienced yet, being able to board through floating & boat homes and find a small beach to hang out on. Alex (human) was very helpful and kind, and Jim (dog) was super cute and perfectly fluffy. Reasonably priced. Fiberglass boards rather than inflatable.

I should have stopped there before buying a kayak. Because theyre so helpful to find the right one for you and I took a class there and Ive bought other things there should have known. Will go back and buy one from them The people in the store were fantastic not pushy graded advice selling say about them is excellent.

Alder Creek is the best! We bought an inflatable kayak and all our gear from them. I was able to try out the kayak in the river right by the shop which was awesome. They are also super personable and flexible with returning things with the best customer service. I highly recommend them for all kayak / SUP / water adventures!

Such a great day trip right outside of the city limits. Alder Creek Kayak & Canoe set us up quickly with some paddle boards, a suggestion on where to go and we had an awesome morning playing in the shallows on the end of Hayden Island... great time had by all. In and out was easy and everyone was nice and helpful

Staff were friendly and the reservation and getting kayaks was smooth. We had 10 people - they handled the crowd easily. One thing that made me think twice about the 5 (would really rate 4.5) is that several of the kayaks had some missing pegs for feet and one, the seat wouldn’t stay adjusted correctly. Just needs a little maintenance. Would definitely use them again.

This was great! Very easy reservation on the phone, allowed me to spend my 24 hour reservation however I wanted, so I picked up in the afternoon and returned the next afternoon. All employees were attentive, helpful, and nice. They put the SUP on my roof rack for me. Very satisfied, and I will be back.

Had a good time at the George Rogers location in Lake Oswego. Love the Willamette River! Great experience, relatively safe outdoor activity, recommend filling out the waiver online so you dont need to handle extra things. Both the young adults working were friendly.

I have rented SUPs or kayaks from Alder Creek’s George Rogers Park site each week over the past two months. The staff members have always been terrific, helping me carry the equipment to and from the water’s edge each time. I highly recommend this company to interested parties.

I brought my kayak out to the island last weekend and forgot my paddles, luckily they were open and I was able to rent them for the day and they were even flexible on letting me return them another day since they were closing soon after I picked them up. Ive also rented a paddle board from them in the past and its a fun area to paddle around and the staff is always super friendly.

I rented two individual kayaks for my 11-year-old son and myself for a three hour trip. The gear was all in excellent condition, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the river and refuge beautiful. We had a wonderful time!

This is the third time renting from the Ridgefield location, SUP twice and a kayak once. The online booking process is super easy so when arriving everything is already set up. Today we took a basic skills paddling lesson with Alder Creek, as well as buying a rack system. The lesson was outstanding. Both instructors were helpful, good at explaining things and patient. We picked up a lot and will practice what we were shown. The price was fair and worth every penny. It was an extremely busy day in the store, but the staff were friendly and very helpful. If you are into paddling or want to be, this should be your go to. We drove up from Salem to take the class.

Best way to spend a beautiful day on the river. Very affordable and the staff were amazing. Placed our speaker in the dry compartment and docked at a beach to swim. Such a blast. Bring sunscreen and water and you’re set!

Smooth experience booking online. Lake-river is mostly calm for kayaking, Columbia-river is really intense. I would recommend checking the tides and wind info before starting your journey.

Brought our girl scout troop to rent kayaks and paddleboards and they had a fantastic time! The guys in the shop were super helpful and took some extra time to make sure all the girls were squared away and knew what to do on the water. Made for an excellent first experience for a few of them and a fun return to the water for others. Will come back again!

Nothing but good experiences with Alder Creek. Friendly and helpful staff at the 3 locations we used this summer (Ridgefield, Tualatin and Dayton). Rental prices on par for the area. Kayaks and paddles were in good working condition. (We used our own PFDs.) I definitely recommend AC if youre looking for a relaxing flat-water paddle.

I would give Alder Creek 6 out 5 stars. Super helpful. Everyone is experienced. Great selection. Dont go to REI, go here instead. 😄👍

Fathers day weekend we rented a double kayak from the ridgefield boat launch near the bird sanctuary. it was a spectacular location and a very affordable outing. the people at Alder creek were very friendly. However, the website read that there would be a bit of instruction, that never happened. luckily my husband and i had kayaked before but never tandem. we spent the whole 3 hours trying to figure out a rhythm a bit of instruction would have made the outing much more enjoyable. we figured it out though and will rent from them again

After years of floating by the Jantzen Beach Alder Creek rental location, finally reserved a few kayaks for a family visit. Had a bit of a last minute issue and their customer service was divine! Easy to reserve and even easier to navigate a problem because their family owned business puts customers first! Well be back!

The area is very nice and we didn’t mind too much carrying our own kayaks to the water, but the kayaks are generally in bad shape : torn pads, broken foot holds, 3 of the 4 of us had paddles that were too short for adults, and two and half paddle sets didn’t have the rings that block water from running down the paddle (my husband came back soaked from this.)

They have friendly staff who recommends the suitable routes to you. They are also cautious about social distancing and cleaning in COVID times. The rental location is behind the store building.

Family of 6 rented 4 kayaks from a very friendly and helpful staff. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time watching two deer come out of the shoreline woods to greet us (about 20 feet away) culminating with some excellent local Ridgefield pub cuisine . Great family memory!

It was so easy to schedule a rental, receive the rental and get into the water! We had a BLAST on the Tualatin River and spent 2 hours kayaking leisurely. It could not have been a better experience!

Easy to book online. A friend and I went stand up paddle boarding at the Ridgefield location. Staff was great. Beautiful wildlife, saw a bald eagle. I would definitely go again. The one major downside is the powerboats that create wakes and disrupt the tranquility of the experience, but that happens almost everywhere.

Great place to rent Kayaks and very affordable, but kids at park need to do more work like carry kayaks to and from the water for you. we rented a double one which was heavy, and awkward for my wife since shes disabled on one leg.

All the staff were very helpful with all my questions, and ultimately helped me pick out the best kayak for me! They also had a couple Thule parts in stock that would have otherwise had me waiting a couple months to get out on the water, and even helped me install them when I picked them up.

Great time kayaking at Ridgefield! Very nice kayaks and gear. Dylan was very helpful and friendly, especially for us 60+ folks who need more help getting in and out of the kayak. We loved our paddle south and saw several blue herons, a group of 10 vultures taking turns munching on a dead racoon, and cows grazing, sunning, and wading on the shore. Dylan was very attentive and was right there when we returned to help us disembark. Will definitely return and hopefully experience other Alder Creek Kayak rental sites. Thank you!

Larry Webb is the owner and a very likeable guy! I came into his gallery with questions about registering my jet-skiis, because beyond the awesome inventory they assist in Marine registration. He did not try to sell me a boat. But when Im ready next year to get one, Ill be buying it with him.

The pedals in the kayak were broken so I had no place to rest my feet. I was very uncomfortable. Cut the paddle short.

We were having problems with our Hullivator and we were told to go to Aldercreek kayak and canoe company. Our service with Matt was the finest! We learned more about our hullivator in the 15 minutes he was with us then watching hours of YouTube videos. We highly recommend Aldercreek Kayak for any of your kayak and canoe needs. They really do care!

I enjoyed my first experience at this facility. The boat was ready when i came at my appointed time, the young man helped me in and out of the kayak and told me where the wildlife area is located. He even ran after me with my sneakers that i had left in the shop. I will return as I feel the rental prices are reasonable and the service was great.

I booked two kayaks for a Sunday two-hour kayaking trip with my friend. Will helped us get in and out of the kayaks, and was very friendly and helpful. There was very little current in the part of the river where we were, so this would be good for beginners. We saw a heron and a ton of Canadian geese. The only caveat I would have is that this location is not as pretty or scenic as some other places (like the Tualatin location) because its in a more urban area. That said, it was a great way to spend two hours!
