Excellent coffee, great breakfasts on the go if you dont feel like deal with the crazy lines of the more popular breakfast places. Their breakfast burritos really did a great job of tiding me over for a long time, especially as I generally have a hollow leg.
To begin, I cant stress enough that the food and drinks were amazing, they tasted wonderful! There were only two downsides to my visit. The first downside being they were out of bagels, yet they were still there on the chalkboard menu, a menu that can easily be changed by simply striking it out, or erasing it. But this isnt really much of an issue. The second one being the service. Most of the staff there was extremely friendly except for one. This was the woman who was at the register for my significant other and I. She had a complete lack of social skills, and my girlfriend said made everything feel depressed. While nobody can control what may be going on in her life, she shouldnt be in a position that requires social skills. After my girlfriend ordered, I was going to order and she simply stared at me, not any sort of and what can I get for you? She clearly didnt want to be there. I was debating making my rating a 3/5 but simply because the food was spectacular I am keeping a 4/5.My recommendation, put this staff member in a different position such as in the kitchen, a busser, or something that doesnt involve much customer interaction because it clearly isnt her forte.
Old Portland lunchtime staple! Great food. Super fast. Friendly service.
No wait. Just counter service and tables. Price is good. Cappuccino was excellent. Filtered coffee was lousy, had to leave behind.
Reasonably priced, delicious coffee and food! They offer a variety of traditional coffees and some fun coffee mixtures. We got a large iced coffee with AM and SF caramel and the Snickerdoodle iced coffee. Neither drink disappointed, highly recommend trying this place out.
I came here for a coffee and a sandwich to support a local business instead of heading to Starbucks. The food and coffee are good, some of the staff make you feel like youre bothering them just by ordering something. Not friendly at all from my few visits. Restrooms closed, passive aggressive signage posted throughout, and nowhere to sit inside, I guess Ill go back to Starbucks!
Beyond perfect for a breakfast in Portland. Right next to our hotel thx Portland regency. Healthy & comfort food too! And reasonably priced :)
Better than average coffee, and generally good breakfast items...several tables in a very informal setting so we had no problem getting a good place to sit.
This place is amazing and the staff is 1000000/10. Would recommend to anyone. Jersey Joe sandwich is fire.
Why do we punish ourselves by allocating breakfast sandwiches to just the AM hours? As if we needed to reward ourselves for getting up early but make that reward really mean something by not having it at other times of the day. This place makes me rethink that breakfast sandwiches for just breakfast policy, there breakfast sandwiches are simply are outstanding. Sure the coffees good here but where this place stands out is those amazing selection of sandwiches and baked goods. Ingredients all taste, they use just the right amount and keep it simple as it should be. Combine all that with extremely fair prices and a staff so friendly they make you think about giving up your career and learning how to be a barista just to hang out with them, and you have a win.
Sweet find while walking around looking for coffee. Plenty of specialty items - give it a try.
Very cute and they had some good stuff.
How can a place in the middle of old port be closed Saturday and Sunday..................Also, I’m vaccinated and they asked me to wear a mask
Great breakfast sandwiches and solid lattes. Recommend ordering online - they turnaround super quick.
Best hot chocolate Ive ever had. Not too chocolatey not too milky
I recently enjoyed a Cobb salad fit to feed a family. The sandwiches and salads that make up the menu are varied and all tried have been good. Its a really comfy place to sit and enjoy a meal. There are maybe a half dozen tables inside and a couch with coffee table. A couple had a dog (pet not service) with them and were not thrown out, so take that for what its worth. I heartily recommend.
The food is great and the prices are cheap! The salad portions are huge. For $8 you can’t beat the price or quality anywhere else in Portland. One of my favorite lunch spots. Plus, they’re dog friendly which I love!
OMG the ladies that work there are fantastic, they did everything they could to make my experience there great. Top of the notch customer service. I still have to mention the food, because those sandwich I ordered was truly appetizing.
I have gotten their sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich on an English muffin and their heath bar latte and they were both fantastic. We came to Portland on our honeymoon and everyone here has been so nice. We love this little corner spot.
Good food. Nice atmosphere. Really liked it. Real fresh food
Great place to get a sandwich. Never had a bad experience and staff is always very friendly and efficient.
Love this place. Such a great chicken ceasar wrap. Not every sandwich on the menu is a home run but I urge you to give it a shot more than once. Youre going to find something you love, and they do it very very well. Great ingredients and a really great menu. Order ahead if youre coming in for lunch, it gets pretty busy
This is the first time Ive tried the Crooked Mile (I work in the Old Port) and I was very impressed! The sandwich I ordered (the Jersey Joe Italian) was delicious and the ingredients felt high quality. The service was fast and friendly. I would highly recommend this spot to friends.
Great little weekday breakfast & Lunch spot. Eaton or take away. Popular with local office workers. Lavender lemonade is a favorite. Sandwiches come with chips or fruit.
Love this shop! superior product, and better prices than the chain stores, and warm friendly employees. So many great reasons to go to this coffee shop
I stop by here two or three times a week for lunch and sometimes for a breakfast sandwich.Always a fun and great attitude from the staff who are always happy and willing to accommodate any food prep the way youd like it.The price is right in line with what youd expect but the quality of the product is higher than what you might expect. It can get very busy and cramped around noon time... if youre able to I would strongly recommend getting there at 11:45 or 12:45.All lunch options come with either an apple or a bag of small chips... Bonus!
My husband and I stopped here for lunch- his cranberry chicken bog sandwich was pretty good but my curry chicken salad sandwich was flavorless! The coffee tasted burnt and like church coffee, but they had great iced tea and lots of flavor to add, which was was nice. The staff clearly hated working there and were not pleasant to interact with. I would definitely recommend going to another sandwich joint if youre looking for lunch.
🙁 ☹️ 😔
This place is absolutely amazing! Love their snickerdoodle latte! Been there the last couple of mornings never disappointed.
Had a wonderful snickerdoodle latte. It was the best coffee Ive had since moving to Portland a week ago, and weve had a lot of coffee! Also had an absolutely delicious bacon egg and cheese muffin. Divine. Will be back!
They really do have the best breakfast sandwich in Portland (that Ive sampled, at least). And compared with the portion size, its a better deal that the sandwiches found at many breakfast chains. What else is there to say: it pays to buy local!
Just had THE best coffee of my life! The Snowflake was wicked good!
I went in and was barely acknowledged by the 2 employees there--it was about 4PM on a Friday afternoon. The girl working behind the counter looked sad and miserable and did not make eye contact. No one asked me if I wanted to order, so I walked right back out the door. There were no other customers present and no one said anything to me before I walked out. Was really excited for a sandwich but felt so uncomfortable with the vibe. Someone give the sad girl a hug! Or tell her not to bring her issues to work.
Excellent staff, great coffee and sandwiches!
Good coffee drinks and they have bagels with tofutti
Where the locals are eating. While its true that the Peninsula is inundated with great places to eat, some are more apt to be tourist hubs than others. The Crooked Mile, with its unassuming storefront and location that is *just* far enough away from Market/Exchange/Middle, humbly serving up some of the best breakfast sandwiches to be found in Portland AND, I propose, the best salads. (Their sandwiches, soups, and cafe drinks are lovely too. The cookies! Soft, chewy, home-y.)The layout is a tad awkward, with a line of lunch-breakers (or pre-workday-ers) that often reaches the door. The seating is at a premium; however, your first bite of a sausage-egg-cheese sandwich or crisp cucumber slices will reveal precisely why this place is busy. It deserves to be. The salads and sandwiches range in the $6-7 range and are generously portioned (I am a glutton and I could happily split a salad from here) and always have fresh-tasting ingredients. The plating is top-notch.Thank you, Crooked Mile, for doing what you do!
Great coffee and service with a smile. Love it here.
One of my favorite places to grab a sandwich in town and top cafe for relaxing, working out grabbing a coffee Im there Old Port. Great staff, great vibe!
Great wraps and salads. Fresh and delicious.
I wasnt pleased at all. The young man waiting on us was very friendly, but did not know the menu or what what they had left in stock at all. I ordered the pumpkin soup off the board and he rang it up only to tell me oh ya I forgot, we are all out....well sir then erase it off the chalk board. I then ordered the jersey Italian, the bread was so hard I almost chipped a tooth. The tomato soup tasted like it was from a campbells soup can. There wasnt anything that felt fresh or original about the place. We sat inside while we ate and the 3 staff decided to have a singing contest amongst themselves....they were very loud and obnoxious. The sad thing is this was highly recommended to us and it did not add anything to our wonderful Old Port experience.
The food and staff are great, I have been coming here for ten years.
Some of the sandwiches are not impressive. I ordered the chicken cordon bleu and was shocked and actually dismayed at what their take on a chicken cordon bleu is. I was expecting a meaty, juicy grilled chicken breast topped with bleu cheese and breadcrumbs on toasted sourdough bread but instead, I was presented with an untoasted Wonderbread sandwich with four scraggly pieces of what looked like a [starved] chicken breast, a dozen tiny bleu cheese crumbles, two walnuts, and this paltry offering of cordon bleu was suffocated under a bush of dry salad greens and an overload of raw red onions. And Im supposed to eat this?I tried to muster the courage and appetite to eat the sad sandwich, but I just couldnt put it out of its misery. I returned the plate uneaten to the front and apologized, saying that this wasnt what I expected, and requested the same sandwich my sister ordered, a vegetarian mozzarella on baguette. I even left a $5 tip because I was thankful they were going to give me a new sandwich at no charge. But, alas. It seems luck was not with me that day. I was brought a mozzarella sandwich... on the same weird Wonderbread sourdough. My sister looked at me with sympathy as I resigned myself to eating the pasty pale flavorless bread. My sister is a saint as we traded one half of each sandwich with each other so I was able to have at least one half of my sandwich with the bread I wanted. This sandwich was sufficient, but lacking somehow. Perhaps some more pesto or better yet, BACON, would have perked it up to perfection. Im willing to give this place another try, maybe for breakfast instead, but Im hesitant, especially if its anything like what lunch entailed. Also, they have a major obsession with balsamic vinaigrette, which to me smells like sweaty feet and tastes just like them too. P.S. Balsamic does NOT need to go on EVERY sandwich! But they will go out of their way to make it right... well, MOSTLY right.
I got a coffee. It was a good coffee.
Great sandwiches and salads. Really great service.
Crooked mile is the best coffee house in town. The food is great, the coffee is great, the prices are great, and the crew is amazing!
Delicious breakfast and lunch options.
Great food. Lovely people.
Breakfast sandwiches are very good and also the gluten-free bread is delicious
They need to update the hours of operation to reflect true hours. Looks like they don’t open until 7:30am site says 6:30!
Good sandwiches, always a bit of a wait at lunch time.
Good place to grab lunch, but then do breakfast as well.
Small coffee shop that has many coffee /tea options and has great tasting artisnal sandwiches/soups. Not open on weekends which is a bummer
I love to stop by on my way to work and get an everything bagel with their veggie cream cheese - which is really plain cream cheese with veggies heaped on top! less than $4.
Pleasantly surprised with the delicious speedy lunch
Great atmosphere there. Very nice people
Nice place to hangout away from the storm.
Eclectic coffee spot, check out
Great iced tea and lots of flavors.
