The best chicken curry on this side of town or possibly in the world because I have never eaten better! It is so good that we get double so we can eat leftovers too!A meal for two is about $10 depending on what you get! All authentic cuisine and there is a large shop with lots of Southern Pacific produce and grocery items there too.It is hard to do their food justice in a photograph. Absolutely delicious!
Fun fact, they actually combine leftovers with the next day food.. Unproffessional and not healthy. Your welcome!
ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!! And the best customer service with excellent selection and beautiful outfits. They have all kinds of wonderful things
Great place with good Indian clothes. Decent price compared to other Indian clothing stores
A very eclectic store worth exploring. Found the perfect gold shoes for a Halloween costume.
First time in, great selection of products us Pacific islanders would possibly like. Especially the little hot food they prep inside. 👌🏽👌🏽
The curries are pretty authentic and taste good but the biryani is horrible! Bordering on unpalatable, the biryani was grossly under-seasoned and was anything but a ‘lamb biryani’. Who puts barely-cooked chopped tomatoes and onions in a biryani? Seriously??…might as well throw in some lettuce, cucumber, white sauce and call it ‘Indo-Mediterranean Lamb over Rice’. The lamb chunks were well-cooked though. The lone star is for the homestyle-cooked curries.
Love it here and awesome selection with friendly customer service
Very friendly people, the lady behind the counter was so sweet and helped me find exactly what I needed. Huge selection of herbs and spices it smells so good in there.
Went into to get some quick groceries, most of the people working there werent wearing masks, so walked out immediately
Love this Indian store!!! Has Fiji food please go check it out . Free chai !!!!
Its a hit or miss and prices dont seem to be consistent, for the cooked food. The main cook doesnt have the best attitude, she seems to have a chip on her shoulder frequently. I decided I will stop supporting the restaurant side. The store section is pretty decent though. They could be more customer friendly but Id support.
I love this place.
Corner market with surprisingly large selection of indian goods, with hot food also. They have good prices, quality merchandise, clean shop. Frozen, grains, spices, vegetables, tea, and more.
This tiny shop is just packed with an amazing selection of Indian, West Indian, African, & SE Pacific Ocean Island foods. I found everything I need for some Indian meal ... & some lovely chaat (snacks)! 😋
It is very good place but sometimes the items are hard to find and some staff don’t seem helpful.
The store has groceries and other knick knacks and food from different ethnicities. It could do better on cleanliness
They got international groceries from India, Pacific Islands, Africa, Nepal etc. Best place in town to shop for all the spices and meats.
The hot food section..they need to start cooking fresh hot food because heating up leftovers for weeks is not good.I know because I watch Gordon Ramsey’s kitchen nightmare and that food section in namaste is a NIGHTMARE! Hopefully the owner of this place will see this comment and changes.🙂
Bough $18 worth of ghee which smell was unbearable when I tried cooking with it, they wouldn’t refund me the money. Not helpful no reason to go back.
Fresh curry leaves, whole spices, 40 types of lentils, frozen foods that only have instructions for deep frying, a to-go buffet, cheap goat meat. This grocery store is now a part of my regular rotation
I order delivery food from Namaste Bazaar almost weekly all through the Covid quarantine and it is the highlight of my lock down. The alluring aromas and complex flavors transport me to another world of Indian-vacation-fantasy, all while I am stuck at home because of Kate Browns directives. This place is delicious, and serves some of the best food on Portlands east side.
Great little spot. Only place where I could find fresh curry leaves.
Great spot for all you need to cook indian foods. They also have a restaurant with many delicious options to choose from.
Great Indian, Pacific Islander store. Not only can you get the stuff for dinner, but if youre in a hurry, they have an in-store deli. Terrific food.
Great selection of Indian groceries and a yummy takeout menu/like a buffet. Terrific low prices on groceries.
Good indian food and groceries
Good prices. Just a little crowded and uncomfortable to shop around.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. My family will not be supporting this store anymore since the last time the owner rang up our groceries and pretended he had already gave us a receipt when he didn’t. When confronted about the missing receipt, He finally re-rang up all of my groceries knowing he was caught purposely over-charging me.
A bit pricey but great shopping for all your islander wants and needs
Love the Kitchen and the Hot To-Go food and made-to-order Naan- THANK YOU!! Get in here! :)
Not that great, I wouldn’t recommend it
Make sure to read expiration date. These people will sell expired food/items to avoid waste and amass profit. Which is extremely deceitful and greedy.
The mart is decent. You won’t find all the things, but find few rare spices at reasonable rates. The food court is awesome. Had the most delicious Samosas in a long time. Loved it.
Wonderful store!! Even has a small hot buffet in it! So glad I discovered this gem!
This is an Indian market carrying home and personal care items in addition to a good selection of food items as well as a cafe. The food was delicious!! There are a few tables and you can carry out too. If youre not Indian or familiar with the food and culture, its a cool place to browse and find some unique items or gifts. They do carry Indian traditional attire. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I saw a gentleman taking the time to carefully help a lady select the right sari.
My go to spot for a number of items, plus the food court/menu is solid. The owners and their family and staff are all great people. If there are items that you are looking for and can’t find, be sure to request, and they will do their best to carry them in store or direct you to where you can find them.
Homey kinda bazaar... food from the island found here 😋
Love this store ❤️. Their prepared food is delicious!
We bought indian clothes from there..its cheap but the owner does not like us opening or picking items to check the quality etc. Plus he didnt tell us the Tax inclusive price..so the price as to what he said he charged to what was actually charged on the card was different by $4. Its just $4 but I would still prefer be the owner could tell us the tax inclusive prices. But on the plus side the clothes were super nice
Certainly not a Bazaar They did not have any Ceylon tea. Good selection of usual Asian spices.
Went here a bunch of times. I go here to eat curry and the food is worth what you pay! There are several options of curry to eat. All the employees are very welcoming and such hard workers, they put a lot of effort in making the food the best they can. They may not be big in business but they are sure big in quality (:
There’s a wonderful charm to buying a delicious home cooked meal from a family owned convenience/grocery store. The Goa chicken is delightful and has just enough spice for me at the Medium option. The rice is perfectly cooked and the Naan is doughy and fluffy. You can order it on Postmates or stop in and meet the charming woman who cooks it!
Ordered garlic nan, hot goa/coconut lamb curry, mild chicken tikka masala, and pankora for my friends and I. Sooooo good, highly recommend. Will likely order more from them next time Im in Portland.
Only Desi grocer this side of the Willamette! Got most of what you need, and their hot food counter continues to expand. Sister to the excellent buffet on Sandy.
Lots of interesting foods. Im glad I tried their deli. They also have some interesting items from the Pacific Islander community.
Good for small quality stuffs
Im Islander, Namaste Indian Bazasr store Have almost pretty much my favorite food, N Good people...
Love this place! So many spices and delicious ingredients. Unheard of prices. Really! Spice cost is down by 2/3 or better compared to other stores. Way less chemicals in everything because natural is beautiful and people from some areas of the globe practice life naturally and it is a WoNdErFuL thing!
Is that a Spanish lady main cook?? she has an attitude which I dont like.
It can be a little cluttered, but you cant beat the variety of spices and dal they offer. Prices are generally reasonable and they also have a small collection of fresh produce, including curry leaves and chiles. Best-smelling store in town!
My wife and I love this place! We order take-out at least once a week. The food is delicious!! The grocery selection is good too. Its awesome to be able to get spices you cant get anywhere else.
Pretty good selection, kind of a grim vibe. There was a kid at one of the tables of the mini-restaurant at the front of the store. Not looking away from her phone when I entered, she said Food or grocery? Since I was the only other person there, I though what she said might have been directed at me. Grocery, I replied. She continued with what she was doing with the phone without another word. Not sure what she would have done of Id said food but I cant imagine that it would have been done with much enthusiasm. When I was done shopping, I went to the cash register. Phone kid eventually noticed me and left the table to ring me up. I could tell that she believed that each item I was purchasing that day was specifically chosen to make her suffer. We were both glad when I left. Hard to know who was happier.
This place not only has amazing food it also has a great selection of groceries to shop through. You will not leave this place disappointed!
I love this market it has an amazing spice section, beauty products that are highly effective and affordable. Today I also ordered lunch to go. Best Vegetarian meal Ive ever had in my life. This place is a wonderland of Goodness in Gateway.
Amazing spices and ingredients, fantastic hot food to go!
Food is great and Lots of Islander stuff to buy
Nice friendly workers. Lots of island stuff. Hot food not bad.
Interesting and funky. And they have one of my all time fave hard to find items and Im not telling you what it is, because I want to be able to continue to get it.
I like this store because it has my kinda island merchandises other that everything in there is expensive, so if you are an islander go check their items out otherwise just hop online and shop for cheaper prices.
They have a very good selection of spices here. They have Kashmiri chili powder which I was so happy to find!
Not a lot of variety of Indian foods. I couldnt find mint water or orange blossom water. They do have a buffet & takeaway food area which had excellent butter chicken
Very tasty. I tried several of their hot food options and loved every thing! Ill be back for sure!
Love the islander merchandise. Kind employees that are helpful.
Do you like McDonalds? Then this might be the Indian food equivalent... Very bland food for Indian cuisine. The buffet is gross and doesnt look very clean. I tried this place twice just because i absolutely love Indian food and wanted to give them a second chance. Never again!
The only Indian grocery store in 10 mile radius in Portland North East side. I loved it. That have yummy freshly cooked snacks too. Almost all major Indian groceries are available here ranging from produce, frozen food, daily utility items, spices, deserts and much more. Now I dont have to travel 20 mile to Beaverton to buy groceries. Prices are also right and affordable.
Called just to ask if carryout food came with the usual chutneys. Unintelligible yelling then hung up on. Cool cool cool.
Wonderously cozy place, with lots more than expected, and the lady who runs the place works hard.
Delicious food moderately priced :-)) every dish I have tried I have thoroughly enjoyed. Although I appreciate the complimentary chai I would have to say they lack Vegetables! The deli is part of a store full of ethnic foods and textiles. And for me its all about the location, location, location, being in Gateway makes this food a staple in our home and work.
Great hot food and groceries.
Good store in this area for Asian items. The person at the counter is very responsive and nice. He told he just took over the shop recently and working on improving....
Lot of good selection for groceries. Nice staff
Ive just spent a number of years in India and was hoping for something spicy. Thank goodness they added a roasted green chili included. For those of you who are afraid of spice, youll be fine.
Like always..AWESOME!! Luv this place.
Great local store with friendly help. They have so many items that cant be found at a regular grocery store. Spices in particular are a great value compared to the tiny jars at the big supermarket. Went there for paneer, methi and curry leaves but found a bunch more things I wanted to try. Restocked my coriander, masala spice jars.
Fun place! All the spices youll ever need or want. Fresh curry leaves too. People are so friendly and omg, the food is great!
The staff are very nice and some of the items can easily be made vegan. the dishes i had were great! also the store has lots of great products i havent seen elsewhere.
Simple and delicious dishes to eat right there or take to go. Also a fun selection of exotic food items from India. If you are in the area and looking for lunch this is my new go to.
It was fine cheap but a little messy/disorganized
My first visit. This is a great place for a light meal, dipped in garbanzo and deep fried. I also found (foil?) wrapped microwave meals in a wide variety of flavors, and at a good price.
If youre buying your spices anywhere else, then youre probably broke now. Large selection of goods from India, including clothing...and knock off thug gear...and amazing hot food area.
One of the best indian food places and prices are really good.
Its ok.
Indian snacks are the best snacks
This place is awesome and convienent to our neighbor hood and the staff is great! And i love the food and have such a huge selection of other goods. i really do like this place!
Good food, expertly service, good price. No ambience- its in a market.
I bought a plate here. Its a good restaurant.
Awesome place. Loved the tikka masala with rice...yum
Great place to buy Indian grocery under one roof..very friendly employees...
Fantastic selection ood authentic spices AND a small restaurant with delicious food, both meat and veggie. Recently remodeled with more products.
Great spice selection. Nice people.
Finally, a good Indian grocery/restaurant on the east side. Good prices, friendly staff, and good food. No longer have to trek to Beaverton to grab staple goodies.
The cafe has a great selection of chicken and vegetarian curries to choose from and fresh naan from their tandoori oven is absolutely perfect.
I absolutely love this place. Its a grocery store for Indian and Pacific islander goods, and boy do they have everything! 💓
I dont know about the restaurant but the store has a great selection and great prices.
Interesting place ....but I will have to come back because I ran out of time....but I really liked the atmosphere....seems really friendly...and parking wasnt too bad..😳
Very small place price is very high and the food they have over there is not good. The section for cooked food has food from 2 days ago maybe we tried and got sick.
