Been here twice over the past couple of years. A fairly good selection of items, but the overall energy of the place feels too off to want to return a third time. They seem to have stigma against anyone that isnt clearly middle class new age women. Being the only alternative/androgynous presenting person in the store at the time, Ive felt very rushed and unwelcomed when everyone else was getting kind one-on-one assistance. There are plenty of other open-minded and less expensive places around here that sell the exact same items.

As a baby witch who is not even sure with 100% going through with this, this store was not too helpful. The lady there explained things a bit too much and was very like insistent with worshiping deities, which would be good for some, but not for me. It was very cluttered and loud. I wouldn’t go again but if you want to I don’t blame you, hopefully you would theoretically have a better time there than me 🍂🍄

I have been coming to this shop since I was a kid and its always an amazing experience. Tarot and Oracle decks for days! Candles, books, and a wonderful owner. Stop in, buy some crystals, youll be glad you did 💖

Fun, catchall store for beginners. Its a bit off putting listening to someone elses Tarot reading go on while you browse. You cannot avoid hearing it either. Overall, good for crystal seekers, home/altar decor, and incense finds.Pay close attention to posted signs and store hours. Expect to queue outside as the store has a small capacity limit and COVID has made that even more evident.

My first and second time shopping at Moonshadow. Once I entered, I can feel the good welcoming engery 🥰, the staff ( Owner ) just brings out the extra loving engery to it... Took my time looking around and bought 4 items. Im looking forward to coming back again to shop. Much blessings to you ❤️

Tried to walk into the shop but the door was locked. An employee (or the owner, no clue) opened the door to tell me they were at capacity and it would just be a couple minutes. Cool, no big deal. So Im visibly pregnant and I have my 3 year old with me, standing outside in 100° weather for about 20 minutes. I gave up after my daughters cheeks began to turn bright red. Huge bummer because I needed literally one thing and drove all the way across town to get it, but again, I get it with covid. We were parked right outside the front door. I got in the car just in time to see 2 young girls walk in with no problem. Literally nobody left the store (again, Im parked right in front of the door), so apparently capacity was suddenly not an issue. Disappointed, extremely frustrated and now on my way to a different store with a cranky, overheated 3 year old. Thanks, moonshadow.Edit to respond to owner: I wasnt waiting in my car, I was waiting directly outside the shop door and giant windows for 20 minutes. I got inside my car after I gave up and watched 2 girls walk in with no trouble literally right after I climbed in. Again, I understand having a small space. I absolutely understand and appreciate the caution with the pandemic. I dont understand how nobody exited the shop and yet suddenly the capacity was not an issue.

Staff seem fairly knowledgeable. A bit disappointed that I gave the salesperson two pieces of tiger iron and got back home to find only one in my bag. Not sure if I was charged for two or one since charges are by weight and I dont own a scale. Still, happy for the one piece.

Love this little shop here. Always amazing obscure well crafted items for the ones not taking the beaten path. The owner is one of the sweetest and knowledge people you will meet. Highly recommend!

I highly recommend this store to anyone who practices, or is interested. I have all good things to say about it here, I like that she remembers me from many years ago, she always asks me how my legs are doing, a few years back, I almost permanently ended up in a wheelchair in a bad accident. I have all love and respect!

The line was out the door we had been waiting long before 5 they still let us come in after 5 because we waited so long to get in. It was so nice very grounded store.

Moon shadow was the first metaphysical shop I found ( by accident) when I moved to Portland in 2001. Never needed another! The owners were always eager to help you find what you need from herbs, books to more. Roy and Kathy (?), Ive missed you since I moved back Miserablssippi.. I think my partner bought you out of Egyptian statues!

Been a patron for nearly 20yrs. A Portland metaphysical staple. Great Covid safety practices. In so many ways, this is a safe space for learning and investigation of Pagan practice and supply.

Definitely sheild before you enter, especially if tarot is being read while you browse. Its an intense location with alot stored energy. Hurts the head after about 15 minutes. Good selection of herbs, oils and stones.

Ive been coming here since I was a small child with my grandmother. Its nice to that theres still a place that I feel like is apart of my heart and is grounding to stock up on the supplies I need.

I started shopping here in the mid 90s when they were upstairs of a cafe and always loved the place. Always friendly servuce and wonderful people. I moved away in the late 90s and have only been back a few times. I am happy to see they are still around but in a different spot.

This was the first store I came to when I moved here from the south and the only place I was able to find lodestone and a mystic star pendant. I love the atmosphere and how friendly they are.

This has been one of my favorite rose city originals since I was a magic-curious tween and Deborah is a wonderful person to talk to. I always walk in on a whim and leave with a little more pep in my step after visiting. Definitely recommend this sweet little gem~with inclusion to those who don’t partake in any sort of magic or pagan practice, there is an extensive selection of jewelry, herbs, swords, and fancy trinkets to browse.❤️

The owner is preposterously sweet and gentle, and the selection of goods is hard to beat. For any practicing Wiccan, youll find so much of what you need for essential rituals here. Will definitely be coming back in the near future.

This store is wonderful. I took my son in to get some supplies. My mom was in Wicca when I was a kid and I really missed some of the things I learned from her. So I started researching and ready about the craft and got up the nerve to go to a store I was not familiar with, boy was I amazed at how welcoming and kind the owner of the shop was. She was very helpful helped me find my way around the store and made some really amazing suggestions for me and I have been in love with my choices. My 4 year old son is even getting interested in what Dad’s doing. I am so thankful this was my first stop on the journey. Definitely a must visit store.

Small shop but leave a lot of time to look around; youll need it. They have candles, tea, stones, books, live readings, really anything you would hope.

Add a great Terry reading while I was there and found some great magical items I didnt realize I needed till I saw.

Ok so I came in to buy some Wicca stuff I love it btw I got two books and a necklace but my necklace keeps twisting does it mean anything it’s a pentagram and out of no where the necklace just keeps twisting and I’m not jumping or anything just walking or sitting down does it mean anything?

Moonshadow is a great metaphysical shop with pretty much everything you could ever want for your practice. I got two pendulums when I went there. However, several of the objects such as incense, candles, and notebooks could be purchased at regular stores possibly at a lower cost.

I love this place. Huge herb selection, wide variety of tarot cards, and helpful staff. They really know their stuff. They arent pushy, theyre friendly and genuine. Ill definitely be coming back if I can. I got a small cast iron cauldron, lots of high quality herbs, and some lovely crystals. So far Im still in love with everything I got.

Very busy today as it is Solstice. Lots of goodies for Ritual here.

Debora is so sweet and kind, we had the best conversation and I found some awesome books there. The shop is diverse and eclectic, I especially appreciated how the book topic sections were organized with related tools and other products. I am touring the metaphysical shops while in town and I def recommend Moonshadow, great vibes!!

A wonderful selection of items at great prices. Friendly staff that are open to answer questions. There has also been a tarot reader there every time I’ve been in.

Just went here for the first time, and my experience was amazing! Debora didnt have the tarot cards I needed (they were in high demand), but was so generous and offered to call me when they were back in stock. She was also a wonderful source of information and easy to talk to. Michael gave me excellent advice for beginning my spiritual journey, and the tarot reader who was in was so kind and open-minded. I am looking forward to coming in again and picking up my cards/obtaining some crystals! If youre in the area, I highly recommend this place.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! Youll be so impressed at the wonderful beautiful spirited woman that owns the shop and helps customers! I went in with a friend and I had so many questions and the sweet Lady that helped me i believe was the actual owner and she took her time with me and explained all kinds of crystals, herbs, candles, pendulums and so much more! Ive had a pretty bad experience at this store. Bought several pieces of jewelry and spent good money on them only to have all the stones fall out within a week. I brought them in and showed the owner, she refused to even give me store credit, was very rude and Insisted it was my fault.

I visited the shop a couple weeks ago. Its very eclectic but I felt very comfortable there. Loved the energy and the shop owner, she was very knowledgeable AND helpful. Huge tarot card collection and references for the wide selection of herbs. My favorite witchy store in the Portland area

Such a quaint shop. Loved the selections. Priced are moderate I suppose, yet I am not sure of the realitys of such things since I dont know the new age market too well. Go take a gander, its worth itHope this helps.

I bought some candles here for a great price, and they were actually much higher quality than I had assumed, when the candle ran out there was nothing but a small piece of burnt wick. No wax or residue.

Everybody here is so nice and the shop smells so good. Prices are reasonable and customer service is top notch.

I have been shopping at this store for over a year now, regularly for my supplies. I appreciate the care and quality of the items, especially the herbs and tinctures. The prices are fair and equitable. I appreciate the owners dedication to the needs of the customer, they are willing to order things in a timely manner and let you know when a replenishment order is coming in. I like that the sourced herbs are mainly organic. There is always something new each time I visit but I can usually depend on the things I need being there already too. This isnt a well loved business for nothing. I will continue to visit for as long as I am able.

Heres an idea: notify Google and your own website that youre going to be closed on Thursdays so people dont trek across the city on transit, only to learn you arent open. :(Ive been a loyal customer for seven years, Ive let the old fella be mean to me, I have spent a good amount of money, but Im not happy I trekked three hours to a closed store.

Its a two hour walk from where I live to this store. I was hoping to check it out and see if it was the right place for me, unfortunately there was no posting on Google saying that they would be closed so I walked halfway across town for nothing.Not to say I wont be back on another day to check it out, but it was very disheartening. Will post secondary rating when I have visited properly.Sad day, sad experience.

Showed up at opening (11:30am on a Wednesday) and the store was still locked with the lights off, no trace of a human anywhere inside. Waited for 30 minutes and still no one arrived to open the store. Wish I got to check them out - closest metaphysical store to my house but guess Ill be heading to New Renaissance.

My favorite Portland shop to get spell supplies and oils. I like the selection of books, candles, and mortar/pestels. Nice pendulums too, and I love looking at the jewelry!

Always a must stop for me when I am in town.... she has everything I need when I need it from herbs to candles to tools and books... a welcoming energy when you walk in and I alway leave feel better than when I went in ;)

The energy in there was very weird. My two friends and I, plus a stranger all got bad vibes from the place and left immediately. Either the objects in the store are tainted with negative energy, or the people in the store are carrying negative energy and might not be aware of it. Either way, the shop needs a purifying salt bath.

Its a nice small little shop that will have almost anything you need with staff that is great to be around.

I really love this shop because it has a great location and the salesman is very friendly and informative. I bought 3 crystals, a tarot deck, and a lunar/solar calendar the first time I went in. I hope they pick up because he said he wishes it were busier.

The owner ( Im assuming) is so nice every time I come in. She remembered me and always has a nice joke to crack. Will be there again soon!

I went for essential oils, they have a wide variety. Didnt look at much else but it appeared to be very eclectic.

Rode a bus 40 minutes and found out they are closed on Thursdays. Nowhere does it mention this online. I actually stood outside the store for at least 20 minutes before I noticed the sign, because their door is covered in random things. I will give them an updated review if I ever go back but as of now my whole week is ruined, and I was already having a terrible time.

Everything felt wrong about this place. There were a lot of herbs and crystals, but not a lot of athemes or wands. I did not see a single alter either. I would not recommend this place to a wiccan.

The store was great, slightly overpriced. Also the owner seemed uninterested with my questions and wasnt very helpful.
