I needed armored riding pants and Rascal (her name) at the Portland was over the top helpful. The ones I wanted are low rise - not good when riding - so I had to try one a few before we found a pair that suited me. When I arrived at the checkout, it turned out they were on sale at a hefty discount. I left the store one happy customer. The next day, I went on a 250 mile ride on some extreme twisties and the pants, it turns out, were a good choice.

Happy with all my interactions with everyone. They have a pretty decent stock of stuff available with a good return policy. Check them out online and reserve for in store pickup or home delivery if you dont need it right away. Staff is always willing to help you find what you need and advise you of youre uncertain.

Found a decent pair of riding jeans there just today. They were at a pretty good price, too.Ive actually bought quite a bit of gear there recently as Ive gotten back into riding after taking a long hiatus. Its always been a pleasant experience.

The guys and girl at Cycle Gear are really great. Supper helpful and just all around good people. Not pushy or always hovering around you, but always close by ready to help if you need it. Solid knowledge base between them all and if they dont know something they make the effort to find out. The make realistic recommendations based on what your looking to do or achieve with quality and dependability in mind. Theyre not just trying to push the most expensive stuff on ya. These are the reasons why I pretty much only buy from them and even if I could pay a little less ordering online its worth it to me to keep going back. Hard to find people like these. I came in to buy a few birthday presents for my employees kid and.... like normal, ended up roaming the store. I ran across the helmets with built in communications. My current helmet has always hurt my head and my phone doesnt fit my handle bar mount so I took the opportunity to upgrade. I hated trying on several helmets knowing that each would have to be cleaned by your staff. The young lady doing the cleaning assured me that it was no problem. She helped answer my questions and also checked me out when I was came to a decision. Ive been using Cycle Gear for about a year now and have received great service each time.

Tire changes are a breeze with these guys! Also parts assistance is spot on and fast. I was on hold with Yamaha and CG took care of me before I got taken off hold!

Came in asking for help with a battery. One of the employees guided me to the battery area and pulled out the same battery I brought in and told me it was $130. I thought that was kind of expensive and asked for other options, where he was completely unhelpful and unable to answer any other questions.I bought the battery but it rang up at $160 plus tax, not the $130. I then took it home to find out it did not have the proper terminal hardware to secure it. I then drove back to the store where the employee who helped me very unexcitedly says oh your back... As I return to the counter.I told him the expensive battery I bought didnt come with the proper connection. He then spends 10 minutes rooting through old terminal connectors from vore batteries before returning with the old ones I dropped off from my battery earlier.Summary: horrible customer help, product bought was expensive and didnt even come with the right parts so it required multiple trips and using old parts.

I went in the night before my eRider Basic Safety class to get boots, gloves, and a jacket and had absolutely no idea what to look for. The salesperson I worked with understood what I needed and set me up with great beginner gear without trying to upset me. I was a little nervous to go into Cycle Gear as a woman who was starting from zero knowledge as I’ve had really bad experiences being in similar situations in a male-dominated sport, but all the staff were really friendly, did not make me feel less than due to my lack of experience, and made me feel really safe and like I belonged there. I highly recommend Cycle Gear to anyone in the Portland-area and I can’t wait to go back when it’s time for me to buy a helmet and upgrade my other gear.

I was here about a week or two ago getting a halogen headlight kit for my sportster. The trainee was very helpful on the phone when I called ahead. After I got there they were very helpful finding the right part, they even helped me install it!

Great experience. Needed new MX boots after my Fox comp 5s fell apart in less than a day of riding. Cycle gear had alpinestars and even matched prices for a great deal!

I ordered a pair of tires which were delivered directly to the store - the ordering process was super easy. I received an SMS from the store letting me know the tires had arrived - so much better than getting a call from an unknown number. Rascal helped me when I brought my wheels in - shes stellar, she grabbed tubes quickly, confirmed rotation direction on the wheels and got everything ready for the techs to mount the tires. The next day Rascal gave me a call to let me know shed get my tires mounted before the end of the day and then I received another text from her when the work was completed. Super smooth and easy as well as delivered ahead of their 48 hour turn around commitment. Rascal again, was great helping me pick up my wheels and checked the installation with me - and even offered to help me carry them out to my truck. Ill keep going back to Cycle Gear with this kind of great experience. Its great to have proper motorcycle experts representing such a broad range of merchandise with really fair pricing (unlike dealer prices which are out of this world!). Thanks Rascal and Team!!

The folks at cycle gear portland are knowledgeable, engaging, and professional. I am new to cycling and and am trying to learn as much as I can about safety necessary gear and maintenance. These shops have average quality components with steep prices, I normally buy here when I need to try or see the clothes or other components. Normally you find better prices on line. Personnel is very knowledgeable and certainly can give you assessment and recommendations if you are new to the sport.

Helpful staff answered all my questions. Luckily they had exactly the products I was looking for in stock, so it was easy to compare side by side to make my final decision.

Great experience shopping at this Cycle Gear location in Portland. Super friendly and very helpful and knowledgeable staff. My wife bought her first helmet, wasn’t sure if the fit was too tight or just right, the sale person took a lot of her time to explain in detail and show my wife that she had the right type and size helmet for the shape of her head. She asked my wife to wear the helmet, walk around in the store for 15m and come back to see her. After 15m she had her take her helmet off and checked for red marks/indentations on my wife heads, they were none, proving the helmet was tight (good safety) but not too tight. In the process I got to get a pair of boots I’ve been needing and my wife also bought a riding jacket was hoping she would get. All in all a great shopping day thanks for this cyclegear store.

I came in with my son and daughter to buy myself a helmet. Found exactly what I wanted and the salesman who helped us whom I cant remember his name, was great. He sold me a couple of accessories as well. Very friendly and pretty quick in and out the door.

Very unhappy with the way me and my wife were treated at this store follwed around and watched like we were thieves the entire time whoever the short female employee was she was especially rude and quite frankly out of line . im a new motorcycle owner and have many questions, i was there to purchase a helmet, jacket and boots but after the first two minutes in the store i felt unwelcome and uncomfortable, i was not going to spend money somewhere i was tteated like that no way . ill never go back not me or any of my freinds
