Ive been going here for years to get my hair. They are very nice in here and always accommodating..

I go here often. Usually able to find what I need. Close to home making it convenient for quick pick up. The owners are nice and I havent had any problems. Helpful with questions and locating items.

They said that they close at 8:00 its 7:44 I just pulled up and they are closed I rushed here to get items and was very disappointed they need to update their hours of operation

Came here on a Sunday, at 1:20pm (hours show 1pmTo 5pm sundays) only to be yelled were closed as they were locking the door

Prices are reasonable especially compared to the beauty supply stores in my area. I went to buy braiding hair and was unsure of which product to choose. The young lady assisted me in my purchase and also educated me on the different brands of braiding hair. Will definitely purchase from here again.

Nice Selections...Friendly Ladies, Always One Who thinks your taking a bit to long on deciding your like. So she,ll keep asking you everything okay? When I know she feel Someone may be boosting.SMH

Idk what people are saying on here. The prices are actually very reasonable and Much cheaper than other stores nearby. They have a large selection of crochet and human hair, hundreds of wigs to choose from. The people here treat me very well, I have been coming here for years to buy my hair after I found out how cheap I could buy hair here. The man is Black and his wife is Asian. I think this is the only black-owned Beauty supply in Portsmouth.

Hands down the Absolute Worst Beauty Supply in the area. 1. They complain about you being indecisive (come on were all human, it happens... and they should be the most understanding with that matter) (it was this cute nail polish that I thought was $2 but ended up being $4.50, so I decided to put it back to get 2 more equivalent priced items instead.) (And as I did the Woman loudly sighs Jesus!) (Not cool) (that kind of turned me off from that point) 2. They watch you like a hawk. 3. They get mad when u ask them if theyre okay because they huff and puff when asked questions about certain items. I dont know if they are husband and wife? Its a Black male and a Asian old Female. The old Black male carelessly dropped my bagged items on the counter; I then told him to be careful because I had 3 nail polish in the bag. They asked me to leave... Loudly and Rudely (mostly the Male) Shrugs.... They the ones loosing Money 😉 hope this helped to all the people looking for at least good service and reasonable pricing ... But in all honesty, I guess if you do happen to go in there... Just know what you want already. Dont ask many questions. Give them your hard earned money. And just leave.... but they will be watching you through your whole shopping experience (mostly the Woman)

They dont assist you in finding anything but will gladly follow you around, also tried to ring up my item for more than what it was priced as on the tag and then didnt know how to reverse the charge so she RELUCTANTLYtook some cash out the register. I will never go back, they also dont do military discounts and made me feel like a criminal. Easy in easy out... always have what I need

The below actually occurred four years ago when I first moved to this area. I initially posted it in Google Reviews under “Victory Shopping Center” but have since found there is a specific page for “King’s Beauty Supply”. There is no expiration date on verbal abuse/public humiliation. The only thing I would add to the original account below is my deepest regret for not contacting the Better Business Bureau immediately after this. In hindsight, the words “lawsuit for slander” race to mind. If only there was something less than a 1 on this scale.I had the WORST SHOPPING EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE at KING BEAUTY SUPPLY, located in Victory Crossing, right next door to Tropical Smoothie. If you are shopping for a beauty supply store, heres my advice: DO NOT GO TO KING BEAUTY SUPPLY-unless you want to be treated like a shoplifter. While wig shopping on 5/10, I made the mistake of going in there. I entered to find a line of customers being helped by the owners/employees at the front. I made my way to the wig section and saw a sign posted saying no cell phone photography. Since I wasnt prepared to buy that day, I knew I wouldnt be able to snap any pics of the wigs. I took my notebook out of my purse and jotted down some quick reference information: style, color, brief description so I could remember it. I had planned to come back and purchase it-if it was still there. There was no price tag so I went to the front and asked the Asian female for a price check. She followed me to the back and when she saw my notebook asked me what I was doing. I replied that since there was no picture taking allowed, I was jotting down some information. She flipped out and raced to the front where she told the Black man behind the register, the owner I assume, that she caught me writing things down and said that I had 20-30 pages of notes (so much for her X-Ray vision). He accused me of being some sort of beauty supply store spy (whatever that is), and started going off about how I was trying to pull something and then publicly humiliated me by asking me to leave in front of a store full of customers. I tried to explain that I was taking notes for my own use so I could identify the wig when I came back. He yelled that I shouldve asked first. Huh? Asked to use my own property? He went on to say that I disrespected him by coming in and not asking about writing things down and that he had been in business for 20 years and if I didnt realize that what I had done (whatever that is) could be damaging to him, then he didnt know what else to say. I left. I HAVE NEVER been treated like a criminal while window shopping in all my life. The owners of this establishment may have been in business for 20 years but they know NOTHING about how to run one. To say that they are unprofessional-as well as beyond ignorant-is the understatement of the year. Theres a beauty supply store on every corner, it seems, in Portsmouth. FIND ANOTHER. Going to one where you can be treated as if you broke the law for simply taking down some reminder notes is NOT an option. Heads up: THEY ARE CRAZY! He accused me of trying to damage his business, Think Ill just leave that to this review.In response to the owners response below: Only further illustrates my point above. if I had been able to locate the page for your joke of an establishment four years ago, I wouldve put it there rthen. Could only find Victory Shopping Center. Dont have to worry about me returning. Wouldnt spend a dime of my hard earned money there and will tell as many people as I can how CRAZY you are and disrespectful to customers. MY FRIENDS AND I WENT INTO THE STORE BUT PRIOR TO THAT WE HAD LEFT A DIFFERENT BEAUTY STORE WHERE WE PURCHASED LIPGLOSS AND EARRINGS, WHENWE WENT INTO KINGS BEAUTY SUPPLY THEY GREETED US YES, BUT FURTHER INTO OUR EXPERIENCE THINGS GOT OUT OF HAND, THE CHINESE OR KOREAN OR VIETNAMESE WOMAN APPROACHED MY FRIEND POINTED TO HER POCKET AND SAID YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR THAT AND MY FRIEND TOLD HER SHE BROUGHT THAT LIPGLOSD FROM A DIFFERENT STORE SO THEY ASKED FOR A RECEIPT WE SHOWED THEM THE RECEIPT AND THEY WERE STILL NOT CONVINCED SO THEY TOLD US TO GET OUT AND HAVE A NICE LIFE. OTHER CUSTOMERS SEEN WHAT HAPPENED AND WAS DISGUSTED BY IT SO EVERYONE LEFT OUT. SERVICE QUALITY WAS LOWER THAN POOR IT WAS HORRENDOUS THEY TRIED TO POTRAY US AS THIEVES HER HUSBAND MENTIOND OUR APPEARANCE AS WELL SAYING HOW WE CAME IN THE WRONG WAY LOOK AT US HOW WERE DRESSED IT WAS HORRIBLE I FELT RACIALLY PROFILED HONESTLY IF YOU ASK ME DO NOT SHOP HERE THERES ANOTHER GREAT BEAUTY SUPPLY STORE IN THAT SHOPPING CENTER GO THERE BUT NOT HERE!!!!!!!

This store is always well stocked and you can always find a bargain.

This store usually has everything you will need for your hair and beyond. the customer service here is great as well

Customer service is horrible here! I bought the wrong hair and tried to return it the next day. The hair packs werent open & I had my receipt. They told me I couldnt return or exchange. They didnt try to work with me at all. Do not go in this store unless its the last option.

I have never received such horrible customer service in my life! I tried on a hate and I was treated as if I was a criminal. This is the worst beauty supply! The prices are unreasonable and most of all the customer service is horrible. Dont go there at all!!

The experience was very bad so I was looking at a wig and I picked it and and gave it to my grandson because I saw another one that I liked so the Chinese or Korean lady was saying do u need help I said no I see what I’m looking for so as I was putting it back she snatched it from me and I said I know what I am doing and then she started screaming “get out”, ”I’m going to call the cops” and then the Jamaican man came over there and said get out before I call the cops - very bad experience
