Scott Dickinson is an amazing design consultant and an absolute delight. I met Scott via a chat on the Ethan Allen website. He was able to answer all my questions. He was respectful and honored my ideas for the design of a living room, family room, and additional area in a new home. The best part was the way we collaborated and came up with choices that exceeded what I would have done on my own. Scott is talented, energetic, and fun. I would highly recommend him as a design consultant.

My husband and I were overwhelmed with the choices, though we knew the quality was what we wanted. That’s why we chose Ethan Allen initially. However, working with Scott Dickinson is what made the experience truly five star. I cannot thank him enough for taking time with us, listening, getting right to work and helping us to put together a beautiful new living room that I know our family will enjoy for years to come. We were stuck with a design conundrum and really needed a way to see how pieces would fit in our space and Scott not only delivered, he exceeded all expectations. From the first meeting in the store, to continuous great communication and culminating with a superb design and renderings we were very confident that we would not regret this purchase. We wouldve loved to be able to take all of Scotts suggestions, but he was also super graceful in considering our budget and also in helping us negotiate some different fabrics that better suited our tastes (and tactile preferences) Scott has a distinct eye and did such a great job incorporating so many elements, textures and colors into his design for our space. My husband and I couldn’t be more pleased with our experience working with Ethan Allen Design Consultant, Scott Dickinson. We were fortunate enough to find Scott through the online chat feature on Ethan Allen’s website. We are building our first house and needed furniture for several rooms (living room, dining room, eat-in kitchen, master bedroom). After walking through countless furniture stores, we were very overwhelmed. That’s when we found Scott. We told him about a couple pieces on Ethan Allen’s website that we loved and he ran with it from there. He built out each room in his design program and it felt like we were actually walking through our new home! It was so helpful being able to visualize different pieces in the space and then see different fabrics, color schemes, etc. His eye for design is top notch and his responsiveness was much appreciated. We couldn’t recommend Scott enough and we look forward to working with him again in the future!

We had used the online Chat Option to inquire about a living room sectional. It was our extreme good fortune to have had Scott Dickinson, of the Portsmouth, NH, Design Center, answer. Excellence in his use of 21st Century technology contributed to Scotts ability to design our living room furniture & accessories in record time. His responsiveness was outstanding. However, it was Scotts personality, creativity, vision & drive that were the primary factors in our success. We live 2,650 miles away & have no Ethan Allen Studio near us. Scott quickly got to know us & our tastes through calls, texts, & e-mails. He expedited fabric sample shipment & was on the phone with us during our one visit to a distant Ethan Allen Design Center. Scott is always upbeat. His good humor pervades all interactions. He was easy & fun to work with. His Customer Service skills are unequalled in our experience of furnishing past homes. Amazing in store service. Sofa and chair were custom made so delivery took a little longer. Delivery service superb, very professional and friendly. Be aware that upholstery is custom made and colors varies. My chair was a lighter green then I chose, but I still like it. Furniture is high quality.

Overall a wonderful design and shopping experience! I had the privilege of working with design consultant Scott Dickinson to create a warm and inviting space for our new home. Scott was able to start from a completely blank space and pull together a cohesive design scheme fitting both my aesthetic style and functional needs. He took the time to create 3D renderings of the space with multiple layouts and furniture options. He has a great design sense and is very professional, addressing all of my questions/concerns. Scotts attention to detail and open communication made the process very enjoyable! I am super happy with the end product and would never have achieved it without Scotts help! Superb design services at Ethan Allen in Portsmouth, NH. We worked with Scott who was outstanding! He listened to all of our suggestions, concerns, and questions and came up with a design and furniture and fabric options that will take our living room from very bad visually and functionally to something beautiful and useful. We want to commend Scott Dickinson for his great help as we moved into our new townhouse. I met him by chance on the phone and he was able to recommend great fabrics, coordinating pillows and coordinating pieces for several rooms. We have loved all the colors and types of fabrics and the all of the pieces! Not only did he reach out on his days off, but he did the research to ensure we were able to take advantage of sales and free shipping. Now that we have our lovely new, very light colored fabric, sectional, Im so glad he strongly suggested the insurance plan. It was great to work with someone that not only knows so much about what Ethan Allen has and is also a very great guy to talk with.

My mom used to always buy Ethan Allen - good quality! It is a bit expensive, but worth it. I got a couch with a matching chair, and just love them both. I had a couch for about 15 years that we took apart with the new one coming. We were very impressed with all of the components that went into making the couch sturdy and comfortable for many years. I recommend Ethan Allen furniture highly!

Absolutely LOVE my new sofa and chair with ottoman! Wasnt sure where to look, also considering since it had to be online. But saw a link on AAFES for Ethan Allen furniture and the Bennett Roll-Arm sofa looked very simple but elegant. Great find, and reasonably priced considering the quality of the sofa and chair. With great quality youd expect to pay more, but very affordable. My son enjoys the sofa as well, says the living room looks very homey.

To me, a sign of a great interior designer is someone who really listens to your story and then can bring that vision to life - Scott Dickinson did just that when helping me to design and decorate my parlor! Working with Scott was such a pleasure. He was patient with my many questions, made suggestions when I asked to make changes and was attentive and available! I had a wonderful experience working with Scott Dickinson recently, an Ethan Allen designer based in NH...all the way in Atlanta! We connected virtually, as I had been trying to accent my dining room with a mirror and IMd Ethan Allens website for advice. I asked about one of Ethan Allens mirrors and Scott went above and beyond in his responses. He sent renderings of my dining room (after I shared a few photos with him) and helped me to quickly realize and articulate a vision that elevated my dining room in the right way. I was going for clean traditional versus the ballroom effect you see in many formal dining rooms. Scott got it right away and suggested a mirror I hadnt even been considering. That was the one we purchased! We are so excited about it. Scott also helped me to see that antiqued silver accents with a bit of crystal would elevate my space in a brightening, lovely way, versus the antiqued brass I had originally been considering. Exactly what I wanted! Great service, a fun, personable demeanor and wonderful design aesthetic. Thank you, Scott!

We found ourselves in need of a new chair for our family room and Sheila Schnydrig made the process very pleasant, guiding us through color choices and styles that would be harmonious with the rooms vibe. We talked about all the aspects of the room and we are excited about how our new chairs (yes we decided on two) will look. Working with Sheila was like working with a friend, a knowledgeable friend. Im hoping that we an do more with Sheila in the future. She takes the time to find out what you like and will take as much time as you need to find just the right piece.

I reached out to Scott via email/chat for help with a design project in my home. I had viewed his work on Ethan Allens website and loved the projects that he had done. It was a challenge as I was adding a rug to a room that was already completed in every other way. He had to work around color, fabric and size and he absolutely nailed it! He gave me 6 or more choices w/ design boards that showed how everything worked together and also offered his design expertise as to which ones he thought would really work with everything in the room and why. He then helped with with a lamp for another room and was equally as helpful even though it was a small purchase. I am thrilled with the results and I highly recommend Scott for any project you have whether or not you are local to Scott or across the country. He has a great eye and he is so easy to work with. Check out some of the rooms he has designed on EAs website - they are candy for the eyes! We are moving to Colorado and Scott is in New Hampshire - I will definitly reach out to him for help with our new home!

I worked with Sheila to buy a dress for my home. This was the first piece of investment furniture I have bought, so I was nervous going into the shopping process. But Sheila made it all seem so easy! She was great to work with and provided great insight when it came to color options and for the item. Will definitely go back to her for any other needs.

I worked virtually with Scott Dickinson, who was fantastic. He took photos in the showroom of fabric samples and wood samples, which just arent realistically shown on the website. He even found an additional discount, not publicized. I love the quality of Ethan Allen Furniture and now love the online experience.

Perfect from start to finish.

I walked in and there was a lady sitting right at the front of the store. She looked up, sized me up and down and then went right back to her work without a word. I am a 30 something hard working professional wearing Sunday afternoon clothes. I wandered around the store alone and then I heard the bells ring signaling another customer had just entered: “hello! Welcome to Ethan Allen. Is there anything specific I can help you find?” Curious I peered around the corner and found a couple in their late 40s-early 50s. I had a questions and spent 15 minutes wandering around trying to get someone’s attention but they were all too preoccupied to even look up at me with other more “established” seeming customers. I finally had to interrupt someone and ask my question. They were very unhelpful and essentially just told me to go to the website before returning to their other customers. I am filling an entire new house (that I bought myself) with all new furniture. I’ve spent over 20,000 on furniture already and needed another 15,000 more worth to fill out my home. I have a very decent job and make a very decent living. Unfortunately, You lost out of making a decent profit due to your sales people/“designers” snobby, judgmental attitudes. Also if they were actual designers and had wanted to help me plan out some of my rooms and had treated me like a real customer, I probably would have spent more. It’s not even about money lost, you should retrain your employees to not be so condescending and judgmental—it’s just not nice.

Scott Dickinson helped me plan my room design using a virtual consultation. He choose from the colors and styles I described to help me pull together a look with coordinating colors and styles. I was very happy with the whole experience.

Scott did a terrific job helping us with living room furniture. His attention to detail and use of visualization software is very impressive.

Sheila was amazing in helping us find the Kingston bed we were looking for, listening to what we wanted and then helping us pull together a whole new bedroom - including special November discounts. We shopped MANY furniture stores of all types looking for the right bed to give my daughter and future son-in-law for a wedding gift. We knew that this was the right bed because of the look, flexibility of choices, quality, and price. We knew it was the right place because of the attentive service (not overbearing) that Kim and other staff gave us. (One of the stores we shopped was even another Ethan Allen-- which we left to come to this friendly and helpful Portsmouth store.) We cant wait for the bed to come in.

I’m very honored to write a review about Tina. I met Tina many years ago when my mother was shopping for a dining room set for my housewarming gift. She was very helpful. After speaking with my mother and I she knew exactly what we wanted. She is a good listener and is very good at interrupting what a person is looking for after she initially speaks with them. She even stopped by my new home to make sure all the pieces would fit properly before placing the order. A few years later I stopped by Ethan Allen looking for new living room furniture. Again Tina came up with great ideas. She took time to help me select fabric and the style of furniture I wanted. She is a good problem solver. When I ordered my new living room furniture I also wanted a buffet to match my dining room set but a lot of the pieces in the collection were discontinued. Tina came up with an innovative way for a buffet. She does think outside the box, is very patient and never rushes anything. She puts a lot of thought, time and effort into what the customer is looking for. I always felt that I was the only customer in the store!! I would recommend Tina without a doubt.

Scott helped me furnish the living room of my dads new house -- particularly challenging because Scott is on the East Coast, I am in San Francisco and Dads house is in Portland, OR. He was amazing! He introduced me to fabrics that are not on the EA website, helped to choose coordinating styles, laid out the room and listened to the challenges that we were facing all the while using the EA website, email and text to help the vision come to life. I, for one, usually design on my own, and at times, for others. However, life sometimes gets in the way. And then you renovate. And more life gets in the way. And sometimes you just cant think. You know what you love. But suddenly you have no idea. So grateful for Tina Forrester. Ever describe what you like to someone and have them suggest something thats nowhere near what you were thinking? Not the case with Tina. She listens. And she gets it. Shes patient. Shes creative. She thinks outside the box. Shes resourceful, shes on your side, shes respectful, and shes there for you.

I have had the luck and honor to have met Erica Leighton and Tina a few years ago, and will say that working with them along these years has been a great experience! It has been a gradual process where they really took the time to understand my style and helped me express myself in my home. Yesterday my young adult son and his girlfriend came into your store to shop. They were dressed casually but appropriately for shopping. Your sales staff never greeted them nor interacted with them at all while they were shopping. However, when other older or more well to do customers came in they were greeted immediately and given all of the attention they needed. Interestingly my son and his girlfriend can well afford the furniture in your store but will not be buying there. Thankfully, several other furniture stores were happy to interact with them professionally.

Erica provided exceptional assistance with master bedroom furniture floorplan. Both Erica and Tina helped wood finishes, upholstery recommendations and accessory suggestions that work well with my eclectic style.

Our designer, Erica, was so very helpful and accommodating. She listened well, and made recommendations that gave us choices but reflected that she understood what we wanted. We got the chairs we wanted within the time frame given to us. Our only regret was going to so many furniture stores before Ethan Allen. We could have saved ourselves a lot of time had we just gone there first. We will do that in the furniture as we need additional pieces of furniture.

Outstanding staff and great customer service. Our designer Christoff was excellent to work with. He made wonderful suggestions without being pushy. I love the quality of the furniture Ethan Allen offers. My last order came in wrong but my sales representative got right on the phone and ordered a new piece. They made it and shipped it in record time. Their customer service team is the best!

Expensive, without reason. This is the sort of place you shop for furniture to show that money doesnt matter to you. Unfortunately that seldom buys you comfort, with a couple of high backed exceptions. The Chesterfield chair was nice, but for the price of a good leather couch Id rather have a good leather couch. Try Jordans instead.

I was in the market for a new couch and, having purchased sofas from Ethan Allen in the past, I decided to go to the showroom one afternoon. I was greeted by a warm and friendly smile upon walking into the pristine showroom. I had the good fortune to be set up with Christianna and, as they say, the rest is history. Christianna was kind, patient and extremely consultative. With Christiannas help, I picked out the perfect couch with the most beautiful fabric, some gorgeous throw pillows and even bought a rug! I will forever more consider myself a loyal Ethan Allen shopper and hope to work with Christianna again the next time I need new furniture. Thank you Christianna, and Ethan Allen, for all of your help. I love my new furniture!

Tina Forrester has a great eye, is very responsive, and it was a pleasure to work with her to select style, color and fabric.

Bought several rooms of furniture during the first quarter of 2018 as well as window treatments for 5 windows. Ethan Allen has some new, somewhat informal styles that appealed to us for a second home in southern Maine. It is fairly expensive furniture, but the quality is there,and the styling can be somewhat unique. Watch the delivery times; theycan be on the long side. The warehouse people worked with us withregard to a complex delivery.

Christianna was an absolute delight to work with! She is professional, knowledgable, detail oriented and a great communicator! Christianna is a true asset to the Ethan Allen Design staff and we now consider her our go to personal design professional!

Well designed showroom. Designers all have art/design background so the advice they gave is great. Price is what you expect but you get what you pay for. Beautiful furniture and a really good design plan.
