We have two Subarus and have been using Barstow Subaru for service. It would be nice if the waiting room for Subaru customers was in the Subaru building. It seems strange having to go to a Chevy dealer for Subaru service. The sales people at Subaru are pleasant, they know the features and are not pushy. Our past Subaru dealer had sales and service in the same building, we were told the Subaru building is almost completed. We will be in the market for a new Subaru next year if all goes well, hopefully Barstow Subaru will be finished. We really like the service staff but they dont know a lot about the models. Subaru cars are the best for north country weather and road conditions. We recommend Subaru and Barstow to our friends. Stay safe, wear masks.

I have now purchased two cars from Barstow, when my first was totalled, the same day I went back to Barstow. Good people, (realize that Ive bought my past two vehicles here) just be aware that if you take your vehicle to them they will most likely do additional services that you didnt ask for without confirming with you-this ends up being costly. I thought it only happened with me but in talking with friends others have had the same experience. They will do extra things without confirming with you and youll pay.

Poor & indifferent service. Took them over 2.5 hours to change oil, refill a/c fluid and replace a brake bulb. the main concern was noise coming from my rear brakes. Was told Id be updated with the diagnosis and would be given a price quote. Brought the car in at 12:20 and didnt hear anything from them until 2:00 (Had to go to the counter and ask them what was going on) took them several moments to even acknowledge that I was there as the man and woman that were working were carrying on a casual conversation while I was standing there waiting to be helped. After inquiring they came up with a laundry list of issues and that the rear brakes needed replacing for well over $1,000. Needless to say I declined having that done (they didnt even have some of the parts in stock) and asked them to just finish up with the oil change and a/c fluid. Finally at 3:00 pm our car was ready. My father happened to be with me and was unhappy with the level of service (rightfully so) and made a comment about never coming back. The service advisor shrugged off the comments and said Im sorry to hear that. There was no attempt to rectify the situation and satisfy the customer after we had drove from over an hour away to get our car serviced here (we have been customers for a couple of years now). The indifferent service, excruciatingly long wait times, and lack of care for customer satisfaction seals the deal for me as I will not be returning. Im sure Ill get a weak cookie cutter response from management apologizing and asking me to call them. Please dont bother. You dont need to work on cars you need to work on your service department and how you run it. Oh, and they werent wearing masks during COVID-19. Very professional.

My check engine light came on and I didnt have an appointment, yet they took the trouble to pull my car into a bay to hook it up to the computer to check out was going on. Ended up just being a loose gas cap and they didnt charge me for taking a look at it, even though many dealerships wouldve.

Barstows treats us like family when we take in our vehicles for service. They take my vehicle in quickly and return it to me in a timely manner washed.

I have purchased two vehicles at Barstow Motors but both have been used and both Mazdas, which is not even a make they sell! On both occasions they just happened to have just the car we wanted at just the time we wanted it. The prices were decent and the salesman friendly (Charlie House both times) and easy to work with. The first vehicle, a Mazda Protege, had a mechanical issue pop up a couple months after we purchased it and they took care of it for us no hassle and no charge despite there being no warranty.

Called Barstow Suburu from a distance for my sons stranded vehicle.Ken was very helpful in getting the car in the same day, checking it out, and repairing it. Great friendly service!

My wife and I were driving through Potsdam and decided to stop and look at the new Subaru Foresters even though we knew as Canadians we would not be able to purchase one in the US. A salesman came out and answered all our questions even knowing he could not make a sale, showed us the accessories, the entertainment center and everything that you want to know before purchasing a new car. As usual, I got good service at Barstows. Bad news on my car repairs, but looking at the real possibility of trading. Sales team and service team treated me well, as they always do.

Quoted a price; got the work done only to be invoiced for more than double the quote. Part of the invoice was charging me more than an hour and a half for labor. However from the time I dropped my keys off to the Service Desk and then getting a call that my car was done; it was less than one hour.

Always soak a person for the most expensive part first. 620.00 later after they said the throttle body would make ny engine light go out, its still on. They reset the code before i got there to pick it up and told me there were no more codes and there was nothing wrong. Almost a month with them looking at my car and nothing. Its a subaru, isnt that what they deal with for crying out loud. P2097 is definitely a code. 3 different obd scanners came up with the same code. But not Barstows. Youve seen the last of my car!

Very helpful and professional. When I asked about a long scratch and if it could be buffed out, someone checked it out and buffed it out. I was only asking about what could be done and didnt expect their help.

I have bought my last 2 vehicles from Barstows. They keep the business clean efficient and friendly. They have free WiFi, coffee and snacks while you wait for your car and gave my car a quick complimentary wash. I really love that you can drive your car right in and don’t have to get out in the cold.

Two exceptional sales experiences.I purchased a used Buick Verano for my son three years ago. Barstow said they would fix a door seal and replace the partially worn tires if I purchased. Like a new car when I picked it up. The car now has 80k miles, 30k by my son, and we have only done oil changes. Fair deal for both parties.Was looking for a used pickup for most of last year. Barstow received a trade in last fall of a used Silverado HD2500. Again, Barstow told me the several minor things they would fix, including replacing two of the tires that would have passed inspection one more time. Very fair deal.PS: I am NOT a Chevy fan. I AM a Barstow family fan. Of the 20 cars I have owned, my only previous Chevy was a new 2000 Malibu that was a TPOS. Went through front brakes and rotors every 10k. At 37k miles, only 1k miles after the 36k warranty ended, it needed a new head gasket. It needed a new alternator at 45k miles.

Scheduled an oil change, they said it would take 20 minutes. I waited for over 2 hours and the skipped 3 cars ahead of me. I expect to have my car taken care of at the appointed time slot. Not 3 hours later.

Visited with a friend. His car has a problem. Slight clicking noise when turning. I believe its a CV axle. Thier subaru factory certified blah blah blah. Im sure thier good guys but they heard a tapping noise thats coming from a Crystal that hangs from the rear view mirror and I believe they dismissed the problem. So I go with my friend and after 5 mins of driving we can recreate the noise in a left turn. Repetitive clicking under load at normal turning speed. Now, they did wave the inspection fee and told my friend to bring it back if it makes the noise. So over all the experience was good. Cant always find a problem the first time.
