From transaction to service absolutely terrible. Trying to charge me double for an oil change “offering a free change for applying for their credit card” that I reluctantly did after hearing bs about a “premium” filter they used without asking me supposedly costing $80 alone. Getting my tires rotated even worse not only did the tech leave OIL STAINS in my tan CLOTH interior but also breaking and scratching my hub caps none of this being told to me, I found this out on my own once getting home since it was 6:50pm when I picked my car up and it was very dark out. They obviously tried to cover it up by parking my car far from any working lights in the lot hoping I would not notice. Will definitely be in today to get this fixed, I do not pay my car payment to have incompetent people ruin it.

Called on 9/11/2021 around 1:45 pm about what we thought was a blower motor that needed to be repelaced in my husbands car. George (manager) told me to bring it right over and they would get it done same day as long as there werent any issues. We had it over to them in less than 15 minutes. It took them about a half hour to call me and tell me that in fact it was the relay and not the blower motor. They told me they would install it and call me back. A little after 5 they called and said the car was done. We went and picked it up. Both George and the assistant manager Tom are so friendly and knowledgeable.We have been coming to Pep Boys for years since the old Midas/Matrix closed years ago. We have seen numerous manager and assistant managers come and go. I really hope George and Tom stay!Any other garage (we called a bunch) including the Ford Dealer couldnt even get my husbands car in to look at it for anywhere from a couple of days to a few weeks, so having it back the same day was a great thing in our book!!Thanks again!

Staff member was helpful. Purchased a seat belt shoulder pad. Price in computer did not match shelf tag. Staff attempted to override price but could not do so without managers code and no manager in store on Sunday.Staff was able to take 25% off price in computer but I still spent more than item list price on shelf. Not a good practice to get repeat customers.

The fellas did a great job with my brakes and oil change for my Range Rover. When I need more routine maintenance done, I will definitely go back. The prices were less than half of what the dealership would’ve charged me. Appreciate them!

I do love the manager of this location, however the technicians here are very unskilled and inconsiderate of proper care to your vehicles. From oil changes to any physical labor on your car. They will find a way to mess it up and not own up to their faults. Very unfortunate but go at your own risk.

I scheduled to have an inspection done online. It asks if u would like a technician to call to discuss anything prior to bringing your car in. I checked the box and never received a call. I called four times to the service department and nobody would answer the phone. When I was standing at the service desk I watched service employee just shake his head like it was an annoyance that the phone was ringing. He stood there on the computer the phone was located next to and never answered the phone. Three separate times while he was at the computer. Except for the first time it rang and he shook his head he never even acknowledged it was ringing. My car ended up failing inspection bc my passenger mirror was missing. I fixed the mirror and scheduled another appointment to have it reinspected. I once again checked the box the receive a call from tech that I never received. When I showed up for my appointment I was informed the tech that inspected my car wasnt there. He left early. He had to be the one to do the reinspection since he did the initial one. Guess dialing the phone is as much as an inconvenience for them as answering them phone. The only things nice I can say about that place is the employees were friendly.

This place has terrible technicians that will not own up to a mistake they made on my vehicle. they put some parts in wrong and it was giving even more problems with my vehicle. Lost out on over a thousand dollars and they never fixed the initial problem just tried finding everything else To fix. I finally went to a dodge dealership who fixed the problem immediately. Problem being they put my parts in wrong! Been great every since...Please I warn everyone to avoid going to this shop. They have no idea what they’re doing!!!they’re just guessing!!

Ordered tires and set up appointment for a week later. Got there and no tires. Tried to upsell me different tires. If I wanted the tires the service advisor was trying to sell me, Id have purchased them to begin with. Went back the next day and the tires were there. Said it would take 45 minutes to an hour. I left two and a half hours later.

Terrible service. Had an appointment at 11:30 for an inspection, battery check and oil change. Called them at 3:20 for an update. Said they were working on it now. They called me back at 4:05 and said they did not receive my registration that I emailed them at 11:30 while checking in. Fine. Emailed registration again. Did not hear anything. Finally went over there at 5:45 and was told they just started working on it. I asked whats the point of an appointment? The guy said that just guarantees you a spot for the day and then tried to act like it was my fault because they didnt have my registration. Why is it that I only heard they didnt have my registration until 4.5 hours after I dropped my car off?? Why did it take all day for a simple service? What happened to the people with 2 or 3 oclock appointments? Did they even get their car back the same day? Terrible, terrible service. And from reading other reviews it seems this is a chronic issue here. Definitely will not be back. Do not go here unless you are okay with not knowing when or if youll get your car back that day.

Always fast and provide quality work. Although I will be in soon again. Just got a oil change Jan 8th and my oil light is on already. I also juat got 4 brand new tires back in March and my light is also on. Maybe I just dont know how to reset it. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️. I would give 5 if the pep boys along rt 100 got a 21st century makeover. Sheesh they literally have things on the shelf from when the store opened. Its literally stuck in the 1980s. My favorite place for the quickest fixes is pep boys. Please upgrade the store!! It may get even more business.

Disappointed: would give no stars if I could. This location is the worst. Went in to get tires, was set up with an appointment to get tires and oil change done. I called confirm my tires were in, and was told that they were not. I asked when would they be in, I was initially told by Tom that he didnt know. I explained that I needed these tires done, rearranged my work schedule for this appointment. The excuse he gave me was the person who ordered my tires was new and he didnt know that it would take this long to get the tires in. I asked Tom to call and get a tracking number so they could track the tires, he initially stated they were coming from New Jersey and they couldnt track them, but they were coming FedEx. Finally he said he would call and check, and call me back. Once again I called them to check because I didnt hear back from them, and basically got the run around again. He said that the tires would be here between Monday and Wednesday of next week. I expressed how disappointed I was with all of this and I was going to have to go and get tires somewhere else. Tom then started to give excuses, and basically told me that it was because my tires are rare. Most SUV have 19 or 20 inch rims. Again another excuse. So disappointed with this place. I should have known better to go back to this place. We had issues with this location before. On more than once. They even lost the keys to one of cars before, and it took them 3 days to find them. Here a tech took them home with them.

After having two tires pop on my way home from work, I found myself stranded on rt. 73 with only one spare tire. My sister was able to get the spare on, then drove me to Pep Boys with the removed wheel/tire to see if they would put a new tire on. Keep in mind, they close at 8 and it was around 6:45 by the time we got there.Despite having had no notice of our arrival and just an hour and fifteen minutes til close, the guys graciously took care of the tire and had me out of there in about an hour. My sister was then able to replace the second popped tire so I could get home.The next morning I dropped the car off so they could replace the spare with another new tire. It was a 3 hour wait, but it was a Saturday and I had no appointment, so that was to be expected.

Scheduled an appointment for 11am to get two tires changed. They told me my appointment was at 1230 while my email says 11am. Supplied the tires myself and after over an hour and a half my vehicle is still outside. What is the point of having an appointment when you have to waste the day waiting on two tires to be done. Absolutely horrendous location. This is unacceptable.

On Thursday September 5, I stopped into inquire about an oil change. The service desk worker said it would be well over an hour, I did not have time to wait..at approximately 2 in afternoon.... by the way there was hardly a car in any of the bays and guys standing around... I assumed they must have had appointments,.... leads me to today September 13, made and had appointment at 2:30. Understand it was a lot busier then previous visit. But I thought purpose of an appointment was to cut down on time. Once checked in, now discussed with what the Rep says at least hour to finish service. Well 35 min later finally took in car. After Rep asked what car I was here with. I didn’t have the time to wait really today .. hence appointment! So one hour and 20 min later for just a oil change with appointment... this will be my last time here I keep giving opportunities to this business.... I go other places with appointments and hardly ever have this issue.

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE place. Dropped my car off to get the back breaks fixed, a hose for my windshield wiper fluid, a tire sensor replaced and to get coils and spark plugs changed. My car was PERFECTLY running when I dropped it off. With only the “tire pressure sensor fault” coming up on my dash board. Payed $1210 to get into my car and it wouldn’t even make it out the parking lot. My check engine light was on and my car was putting TERRIBLY. They said they would look at it tomorrow .. I know I will NEVER use a pepboys again not even for my parts.

Stopped in for parts for a friends car andbon the way I loose my shifter peg (on my Harley) the gentleman behind the counter made sure I had a workable fix to get me home .. For 1.50 ... But he spent plenty of time with me to make sure I was good before I left ... Probably his smaller sale of the day ..but he definatly made sure I was just as important as his biggest sale of the day... Hats off once again .. You guys are really great!

Here is some advice Pottstown Pepboys, if you have a technician not show up...contact the people who are scheduled for service on their car that day and tell them, dont wait until they are standing in front of you expecting their car to be fixed. Simply put youre terrible.

Ive had an issue with expired inspection for several months. Stopped in to get the inspection done. The car passed safety inspection but has a check engine light on for O2 efficiency. Had it diagnosed the 1st time at this location and was told to see the dealer because of an open TSB. The dealer wants my first born just to diagnose it. Brought it back to have this location do the work and was told it would be diagnosed. Dropped it off around noon and called back after 7 pm. I was told the mechanic left for the day and did not tell anyone what the issue was. Matt seemed nice and advised me that he will reach out to the mechanic and get back to me so I can bring it in and get it resolved. Its been almost a week and no word back from Matt or anyone on the team. Not very impressed with this location.

So I never give a review. Well three days ago I made appointment for today at 8 am. I drop my car off at 8 am. I called back 1:58 pm asked on the status of my car Matt the manager told me it was 2 cars away and it would be done In an couple hours. I called back 5:35 pm asking the status of my car. Matt answered again and told me it would be done by end of day. He also gave me attitude when I asked what was going on. He told me the days not over yet.. At 6:10 I decided to take a ride over to see if the took my car in, they did not. I went in talk to very help employee that got me my keys and car papers. He then told me didnt matt call you. I said no, he said were not getting to your car today. I took my keys and car. I have read alot reviews on here and it seems matt is a problem at this location. I my self am store manager and cant believe ever make customer wait 12 hours for phone call. I also know how to fix cars. So matt should lie to his customers its not good business. I lost whole day of work because of this. Its kinda sad I was looking for car shop since I moved here. Guess its not. Matts pep boys.

Paid more for a battery than other places thinking they would honor the warranty if ever needed. I was wrong. Battery went bad and was leaking. They wouldnt honor the warranty because their machine said it was fine. Bought a battery elsewhere and my car runs fine. Businesses always brag about warranties until they have to make good on them.

If your inspection fails and you take the car to fix it yourself they charge you a second time to inspect it. These people seem trained to scam you. Failed my car for a strut and want to replace the entire strut assembly when it only needed a 100$ strut. On top of it they water 200$ to install a 20min job. Stay away!!

I ran over a nail on my way home at 7pm and called them. They said they could take care of me if I got in by 730. The guys were nice and accommodating. Their service was fast and they dealt well with having to get approval from the fleet company even as they were getting ready to close. Very pleased.

First of all I get people make mistakes. But first they put the wrong tire size on my wheels. No biggie, came back the next day when I noticed and they put the right size on. Great!... Except, they didnt balance the wheels properly, maybe not even at all. Which then gave me a wheel shake when driving on the highway. Went to a different shop to re-balance the tires. Now its drives butter smooth. Look at all the bad reviews here! This location sucks for auto work, either the mechanics just dont care or pepboys doesnt pay them enough. Probably a little of both. Worst experience I have ever had. My boyfriend called to schedule an appointment for tires for Sunday at 11:00 am the guy said on the phone that it would take 1 to 2 hours. We went and dropped off the truck saying we needed it back that day. We left for two hours came back and the truck didnt even move and wasnt even touched. As soon as we went in and asked how long it would take the guy got an attitude right away and said it will probably be done by the end of the day. You told me I could have it all day. He was a very unpleasant person to talk to and had a very bad attitude. He said it should be coming in next when the guy gets back from lunch. I dont know what you want me to do you said I could have it all day. We got the keys back and left. That will the the last time I ever go back there considering this isnt the first time I had a problem with them. Completely unprofessional.

We stopped here because my tire pressure light came on. We were on a long trip, so we needed to have it checked. The guys there refilled the tires and recalibrated the pressure light so it wouldnt stay on for the entire trip. Very service oriented and we left feeling sure wed make it to our destination without further concerns about out tires. Great job guys!

My go to place in the area. Service manager Anthony is very nice and not after the bottom $$$ which is comforting as they will work with you on getting the best deal. I had an issue with my car and he rode with me in the lot to hear exactly what I was hearing. Most places wont do that or have the time for it. They also take coupons and are very patient when processing them. Ive taken my cars here for years and will continue to as they do the best job in the area. I also love the online scheduling tool and pepboys rewards. Only negative is waiting room needs a major upgrade. Nicer chairs and variety of snacks would nice if your waiting for a long pickup

They always have what you need and the staff are very friendly. It usually takes a little while for them to come over to the Checkout Areas, but I think its because the store is understaffed. They make up for it in service though: making conversation, giving advice, helping people (older people) carry things to their cars. Good business, good people, cant go wrong with that.

I took my car to Pep Boys today for an inspection. I was impressed because I had called ahead and they could take me right away. My car had previously passed inspection a month earlier at a different garage, but I wasnt able to get the stickers because it didnt pass emissions. We fixed the issue and the garage couldnt do an inspection as soon as I had liked so Pep Boys seemed to be the best option. The inspection took only an hour and 45 minutes or so to be completed, but I was surprised to hear that I needed to put in almost $700 to pass my inspection. Before labor. But dont worry, it passed emissions. Im curious as to why it passed completely at one garage to needing things like new wiper blades and bulbs. Oh, and we touched this one thing and this screw fell out. We need to replace that, too. Brake pads were needed, too, but why werent they mentioned at the other place? Thats the only reason I gave 2 stars rather than 1. It took 30 minutes for them to put on my emissions sticker and move my car back to the lot. I guess their text message conversation was a little more important.

Some of the staff seem bothered that you are there and they do not appear to want to be helpful. I would rather drive just a few more minutes to Advanced Auto Parts where I feel like the employees want to be helpful than spend my money at this Pep Boys.

The boys working in here were so nice. Had a headlight out on a night it was pissin buckets outside. Couldnt fix it with a replacement part. Had to be soldered and taped. Seemed to me like Minor electrical degree was needed to fix it...lol. But the guys lent us some pliers, black tape and a pair of scissors to strip the wires. Got it rigged to make it home safe and sound. Never rushed us or made us purchase something to use the lot and tools. Thanks Guys!

While their service was friendly it took a while for my vehicle when they realize they couldnt do what I needed them to do it took them a while to contact me so they had to keep my car even longer and they are extremely overpriced prior to this experience I went in for an oil change and the cap was torqued and rather tell me they just changed the oil not my filter I was told by the next person who did my oil change that my filter hadnt been changed in quite some time when I had just had it to Pep Boys 3 months prior

Since they brought back the speed shop things have really been great here. I dont get much from it, but the higher flow of customers allows inventory to be refilled faster and keeps things fresh. Staff is great here and the store has everything you need to work on a car. Service is usually quick for light service i.e. oil changes, tire rotation etc. Its all Ive ever had done there.

Went in for tire replacement and when questioning the service manager I was addressed by a very hostile attitude . I suggest your human resources gives these employees some customer counseling in their training . I would have taken my vehicle elsewhere had the vehicle not been up on the rack . On August 18, Sunday afternoon I met a male manager for a flat tire repair and did explained to him that I was deaf. He was at shock. I repeated saying this three times without he pulled out a sheet to write or attempted communication shortly he looked at me when I say please look at my face then he bolt I waited for his normal respond as he could say something to any hearing person suddenly he repeated twice to tell me I need to make appointment for tomorrow morning. There you could see two then three repair men’s talking inside the garage windows. My thoughts was are they on break or something else?How would you treat a tourist with a flat tire on a Sunday afternoon (two pm) as I’m wondering why. Shouldn’t pep boys provide service when they’re open for automotive services in parts and repairs?Do they understand ADA law in providing assistance with communication for the hearing impaired?

I get all my automotive needs there. Stuff always on sale. Their service center doesnt give you the feeling they are charging for unnecessary work. Theyre pretty honest and have always done good work for me.

I have gone here 3 times since getting my new car in April. First time they were fine no problems. Second time I got an oil change before I left on a long weekend on the way there my low oil light came on, I called and spoke with a supervisor and said to check the oil if it is low get it looked at where I was if not bring it in when I return and he would take care of me. I checked the oil it was low but enough to get home. Rep from pepboys told me after they looked at it that the filter was not out on correctly. I said fine and appreciated his help, everyone messes up. Well I just got another oil change around the beginning of Nov. And it has been less then 3,000 miles and my low oil light comes on again. I called and requested a supervisor I explained my story he asked if I could come in Tues? No I work I cant do that, today and tomorrow were booked so I have to wait until Sunday to get this taken care of he was not helpful at all nor did he give me any advise. That was my finally straw I will go there Sunday to have them fix their mess and after that I find a new place for an oil change.

Store employees arent very knowledgeable in the automotive field, products & services could be consider pricey & it seems as if they never get new products BUT AT THE END OF THE DAY its still a solid automotive store! Its also a better experience if you sign up to be a rewards member!

I dont think the staff could be less knowledgeable about cars and parts for them. Three different times I called and asked if certain parts were in stock at their store. And I drive all the way there and of course the parts I needed arent there. Its a shame because the speed shop has a decent selection but the staff just doesnt know about the items they sell. Today I called looking for a distributor hold down clamp for a ford 302 and the man on the phone assured me they had some. I double checked with him and he said he had two different styles for my 302 and I could come down and pick which one I wanted. I get there, they didnt have the part again and then two employees made a joke of it between them. Its just ridiculous. Who runs a business like that? Stay away from this store.

Usually shop here when needing basic vehicle maintenance. They have good prices for parts. Accessories and such can be more pricey then elsewhere though. 3 star rating is due to in stock issue Ive run into a few times here now. They seem to be out of basic things more often then having what I need. Glad Walmart is across the street so it isnt far if I have to go elsewhere.

I went to this shop to patch a tire on my car, which had about 70% tread left. I was quoted $20 and a 45 minute wait time. After looking over the tire Pep Boys decided the tire was not repairable. Ok, no sweat. I decided to buy a new tire and have them install it. While taking my donut off the car, Pep Boys broke one of my lug nuts. They said the lug nuts were put on too tight, which caused it to snap, which is ridiculous because I put the donut on by hand with no power tools. They charged an extra $50 in labor for a new lug nut to be installed, which could have been avoided if they were not careless with the job. Two hours and $160 later I was able to leave. Will not be returning for any future business.
