Quite the store. If you are looking for a wig, this is the place to go. They have someone to assist you with your selection and trying them on. Also sell a variety of hair products and dyes.

Variety is good. Clean and friendly. And this braiding spot up the street is the truth!

Love their selection of extensions. I got two in the past and it was 40 per pack. Now I’m shopping for a wig and I saw it last night. Hopefully it will still be there on Nov 3rd. My husband picked it out. He says it screams Attitude and is bold. I also found a blond one that I love! It’s a shoulder length bob parted to the left side. It was the only one, in that style. I guess that’s really popular. It was such a good price. Like $54.99. Somewhere else it would be like $80. I love their selection and prices. The young lady that helped us was very nice. Everyone is nice. It’s the positive energy and overall vibe I always get in the store.

They were very nice. There was a girl who helped my sister and I find some really nice wigs. She was very helpful and knowledgeable. I do plan to go back.

I was specifically looking for scarves to celebrate Black History Month. I almost passed the shop however I took a chance to shop at Urban Beauty Supply. I am absolutely thrilled that I checked it out. I purchased 7 scarves with beautiful African print and I am pleased.

They almost always have what Im looking for and at decent prices. Also open on Sundays!!!

I truly like this Beauty Supply. The people are very helpful, its well organized, and they have some of the best products. The owner has always been very pleasant and helpful. I moved away, but couldnt hardly wait for the place to reopen during the Pandemic while visiting.I call it my store... for when Im ever in town.

Go to place for hair and beauty supplies. They have a mass variety of ethic products that are hard to find elsewhere.

They have every kind of hair accessory imaginable; from wigs to hair clips and shampoos, conditioners, etc. There is staff available to assist with trying on and styling wigs. They will also special order for you if something is not available. Pleasant staff and very helpful.

So much things to choose from.. From wigs to makeup. I never can just go in here and spend under 10 bucks lol it adds up pretty fast because its alot of things you see and dont need and just want it lol

Not what I thought it would be

I am in License cosmetologist I came into the store for the first time literally just to get eyelash glue for individual lashes as I’m looking at the some hair my daughter is standing next to me and touches one of the wigs and the owner or the manager I’m assuming he’s the owner African-American guy with dreads starts yelling at my daughter about touching the it she didn’t damage it she didn’t do anything she literally just touched I WILL NEVER SHOP AT THIS STORE AGAIN

This store is the best store I ever seen in my life. The owner is incredible. His team is so professional they take care of your every need. If he don’t have what your looking for in his Poughkeepsie store he will call his other store to make sure you get what your looking for the same day or next day. I guess he got multiple stores. The owner and his family are so friendly and knowledgeable about Black hair and the products they sell! They also have another store in Peekskill run by the owner’s sister that’s also really nice! This store has it all! The owner is fabulous. When they didn’t have the hair necessary for my daughter to get her hair crocheted the next day, he made sure he got it from his other store which is in another town. They are so helpful and actually care about your needs! Great place to shop for all kinds of hair products.

I found what I wanted

The location I visited is in downtown Waterbury, CT.The worst customer service ever had everything I waslooking for spent over $100 on simple hair needsvery clean and easy to find. I did not enjoy the checkout process due to rude customer service literallytrying to provoke an argument. Last words from thecashier were “I just lost one my lost”! He definitelylost a customer was my first time in store and will bemy last time spending money and didn’t expect it witheverything that is taken place in the world.Researched this store because I wanted to spendmoney with African Americans but this was not agood choice for me. If you want to be spoken to in arude manner literally yelling and telling me how hewould take items from this store and bring them toanother store with an $8 mark up! Bad business!!!!WILL NOT SPENd MY HARd EaRNED money WithRUDE SERVICE!!! Shop and do not ask prices you willbe okay especially women! Be aware of RUdE CASHiER

I went into each of them but i was very amazed when i walked into URBAN BEAUTY. Let me start by saying the store is BLACK OWNED. The customer service is the best and the store was very clean. i will be coming back.

I was delighted to learn that there was a black-owned beauty supply store in Poughkeepsie, and I had a great experience shopping at this store. Between the wide selection of products and the courteous staff, I felt right at home.

I been going hear quite some time now and it’s really unfortunate to say I will not be returning or supporting this black own beauty supply anymore. And it’s really sad because I live about 30mins away from this shop and I take my time to walk all the way to this beauty supply because it’s black owned and I want to support my people. But I can’t do that anymore because the people he haves working for him are really unprofessional. Don’t get me wrong the owner is really nice and sweet but the girls he haves working for him are rude. Change the staff and I might change my mind and come back but until then sorry I will be buying my little miscellaneous things online or in Newburgh.

In particular they have the, rare find, Bomba dreadlocks Faux Locks Soul 18 in NORMAL colors (1, 1b, 2, 4 & 1b/30).Ive been trying to buy this hair for about a year now. Im from upstate NY and I had to drive an hour and a half to get to this store, because NO BEAUTY STORE sells this hair in what appears to be in all of new york state.6 months ago I called the Bobbie Boss headquarters and requested a list of distributors because there was nothing upstate. Mainly Brooklyn and queens, but when you call its all the same story, the distributor didnt send it to us try next week.This hair is the best dread hair and the most durable faux locks on the market, hands down. I only know this because I was forced to reuse this hair for over a year, waiting for a local store to carry it, and it is still holding up. It looks more natural as the months go by.Shout out to the sales associate Romel. He didnt think they had it, but this dude search the entire Bobbie Boss hairline until we both found this buried treasure at the bottom of the rack. He got on his hands and knees to help me pick out NORMAL & NATURAL colors that us more mature professionals need to be taken seriously in corporate America.Romel did not rush me or dismiss my needs. He even listened to me ramble on about why this hair is better than Nulocks and Bae locks. He matched my locks with what they had. I was treated very well. It was my first time at this store, and only came because I was recommended by 2 people, one on the street, and the other worked at a competitors store.I was in a rush and Islande got me in and out of there. She even quickly found the exact lip gloss I was looking for, the one with a stick applicator. Elf lip gloss is over rated. It burns my lips, leaves a white line residue and is madd expensive, $8.Urban Beauty Supply has pleasant workers to promote their vast inventory with excellent customer service. Bigg-ups to Romel and Islande. I dont know either of these people and I had to ask the for their names just so I could mention them in this length review.Im soooooo happy that my search is over. Now I can start replacing my old dreads with these new ones.

I have been to wig spots from here to the Slawson Swap Meet in LA. First, it is actually OWNED by black folks who know their product and there selection of wigs people actually want. It isnt the Asian guy at the counter looking at you like your trying to rob them.type of spot. I want a lot of them. Their prices are very fair. I got ripped off by another spot right down the way on main. Best place on Hudson Valley
