I rented a storage unit here for a few months, and had a positive experience. Their access hours are convenient and they have carts available for use to move things, which made the move in/out process easy. Reserving and cancelling was a breeze, as it can be done online. I only had to go in once to speak to an employee when I first rented, everything else was done online. I had a question past office hours one time, and the general manager answered my call promptly and was able to help me.

Rented a van for 24 hours..It’s smelled so bad I couldn’t ride in it.. The seat odor left our clothing smelling like cat urine.. totally disgusted and they offered no apologies nor compensation..My wonder is what are cleaning policies..?

I have a storage there and also rent trailers a lot. They are always friendly, helpful and efficient. I have a business and couldnt do it without these guys. They are awesome!

Service was adequate, had to run separate transactions on my card because they could not products purchasing with the rental of a trainer. Items in store were not priced and I dont questions were directed.

I got to the store for a hitch install and the person no had spoke to never actually booked me (the call center). Despite a shortage on hitches, they happened to have the one needed for my car and got it installed. They were very pleasant, straight forward about the situation and ultimately got the job done!!

Very poor customer service. The younger staff try their best, but the manager is a poor example. He left a bunch of people standing in line and literally ran out to get vaccinated.Someone in the back will come out soon as they are done. Really? Also, investing in new card readers would help. Often dont work. Too bad its the only one in town. Ill purchase boxes elsewhere!

A lady working here called me about a truck being returned late, I told her we had issues with the storage company and the truck would be a little late, but we promised to get it there before close.. She told me the truck was do to go out the next day, and as long is we got there before close we wouldnt accrue any extra chargers.I dont care about the extra charges that they already took out of my account, but to call and leave a message and say you didnt speak to me, and/or honor the employees word that spoke to me is dishonest.

This Uhaul location was very helpful and friendly. The general manager really made sure we were taken care of for our cross country move and it made a huge difference in a stressful time.

They messed it up my order! I did make a reservation 3 weeks before date I asked for 26” truck. And few weeks later I’m ready to pick truck up from uhaul. End it up they told me that they not have 26” for me but I can see outside they do have 4 truck of 26” and they decide give me 20” which all my stuff won’t fit. Then they give me small trailer box and still won’t fit anything. End it up we have to pay more money for big trailer. We have to get 2 big trailer to make everything fit in! And cost me more than 26”!!! They just not care like cold heart when I reserve 3 weeks before date! This is worse case ever I have! You rob my $200 more! F$&k you uhaul!

Pretty disappointed in the workers on Sunday February 21, 2021. I arrived at 455pm to return the trailer. Unfortunately a employee blocked the return drop off area preventing me from parking and dropping off the trailer. The other employee told me to wait for it to move. They locked the door and took off leaving me alone with the trailer to unhook myself and unable to return it that night to get some money back (I used cash) also the online return wasn’t working. Waisted 20 minutes on the phone to figure this situation out the next day and have to drive back to this location to get my money.

We stopped by this store a couple of weeks ago and purchased $75.00 in moving supplies. We realized we were going to need more boxes so we returned to the store today. As soon as we entered the lot there was a small traffic jam due to the poorly designed lot. We pulled to the far left of the lot to allow two customers to exit. We had our windows down and overheard the Manager (Jim Pena) rudely telling one person that they would have to back out since the drive around the building had no exit. Then Mr. Pena proceeded to yell at us! He asked if we were coming or going (dumb question since we had just pulled in from Hwy 69) and to stop and allow the other customer to exit. He was extremely loud gruff/rude! It would have been much easier for the customer to back out if we had been allowed to park first. I told Mr. Pena there’s no need to be rude and he replied “neither do you.” Great customer service U-Haul!My wife and I decided we weren’t interested in purchasing anything else from this store (or U-Haul) so we unloaded the supplies we purchased previously and returned them to the store. As luck would have it Mr. No Customer Service Skills Pena was at the counter when I returned the supplies. I told him I had intended to purchase more supplies but after the way he spoke to us in the parking lot, we wanted nothing to do with this store. I told him he acted like an **s and that it wasn’t warranted. He replied “keep on” in a threatening tone. I told him to refund me so I could just get out of the store and he replied “it would be the highlight of my day.” I told him I intended to contact corporate and let them know how unprofessional he behaved and all he said was “I’ll just tell them my side of the story.” I did contact the company President (Mr. Ashdown) but I suspect nothing will ever be done. My advice is to stay away from U-Haul if they are going to employ a person like this to manage a store. We were also planning to rent a truck & car hauler for our upcoming move but now we will go to Penske.

I was hesitant to go here after reading some of the negative comments. My experience was great. The person at the front helped me make a reservation on a truck. I was in and out. The return was as easy too!

These guys are great! I rented a trailer today, Scott assisted me. I have worked with this location for years, rented trucks, trailers, had a storage unit...as always, they are professional, efficient and provide solutions to my needs. I love going in there, even if there is a wait, they greet people, and make sure the we dont have too long until we get service. Great ratchet strap downs too! I have used U-Haul for over 30 years, and this place is a top location with great friendly, helpful people!!!

I have had a couple great experiences here. They installed the hitch on my Subaru quickly, and I have done a couple pickups and drop offs with trailers for my motorcycle for when I return home for breaks between school years. All has gone smoothly, pickup and drop off is easy. Highly recommend making reservations online though, then when you go there in person, they pull it up, you sign a few papers, pay up, and youre off! Will come here again.

First time I have ever drove a big truck and I am so excited about this. Good price and the move is no big deal now. Hope I can get from point A To point B without any problems. The storage unit is ready for my delivery of my apartment stuff. I know I have some men around to move my apartment. So the cost is 20$ for 24 hours plus 79 cents a mile. U-haul place is 3miles down the road. The storage is 60$ for 3 months. Plus its next to the gas station so excited about that... Lunch time and some beers are great when you spend the day at a storage unit. Love my life. The only part that is missing is another place to live but it will be fine. Im a survivor and that is the key to life.

AMAZING!!!!! I cannot say enough positive things about the manager of this location or his staff. I had a horrible experience dealing with another location and was referred to this site as service recovery. I came in with a bad attitude and a lot of stress and they were pleasant and helpful and fixed everything. I was smiling by the time I left. If you have to rent a truck, I recommend starting here first and saving yourself the headache.

Bit of a wait. I reserved a storage unit last week, and when I arrived it was not actually reserved and no units that size were available. The employee on the phone had told me it was reserved, while never actually reserving it in the system. On the other hand, the manager Jim did the best he could to fix the situation. He was nice and friendly. It sucks to have 2 separate 5x10 units instead of 1 10x10 unit, but there wasnt much he could do since that was all that was available. Not really the best situation after a big move.Update: Rented the storage units for a month. Theyre good people and helped me several times. Id recommend them.

Ive used this U-Haul for 2 local moves and 1 one way for moving a large vintage stove last weekend. Jim Pena has always been a great help, fair, and reasonable. I appreciate his costumer service.

This place has a large variety of trucks, I have always been able to get what I need. If youre buying boxes for moving, their boxes are less expensive and stronger than both Home Depot and Lowes, and they have lifting holes in all of their boxes, I only mention that because Home Depot boxes dont even have holes to lift the Box.They have rolls of 20 inch wide plastic Wrap and I suggest to anyone moving to use as much of this as possible because it sure makes your job easier and they have plenty of itThe only thing I would say bad about this place is that its a little bit hard to get in and out of because the front parking area only holds about 4 or 5 cars and it can get very tight, and you can only enter from the East.

Went to U Haul on a Sunday morning trying to get a car dolly or car hauler trailer. Time was of the essence because my dad was stuck on the side of 69 in Mayer. Figured renting a trailer would be cheaper than paying a tow into Prescott. U Haul has the slowest process from walking in, to creating a contract in the system, then to getting the trailer ready to hook up to vehicle. And you know what on a Sunday morning and U Haul being the only open business of this kind, I can have patience and wait, but when the employees mess around with my time for 1.5 hours and I walk away with them telling me I can not rent a trailer because the computer system wont allow them to select the physical trailers that were on their lot. Very disappointed! I did not give only 1 star because I simply do not understand the computer system. If it were the employees choosing to make this transaction difficult (then same on them) or if the system is that ridiculous. I cant say I have any issues with anyone in particular at Prescott location but everyone seemed to lack the knowledge to override the system so I could drive away with one of the trailers they so clearly had available. My vehicle can tow 7,000 lbs, U Haul tested my electrical and everything was great and ready to go. Not sure what happened exactly, but I know I walked away upset and stressed.

I like the location and the temperature controlled storage (other than the left hand lane turn issue). I have used this place multiple times due to these features and for various reasons. Setting up new contracts has not been without hassle and customer service has not met my expectations. The phones often roll to corporate and we have spent hours on the phone for simple requests. The response from local management seems unconcerned and insincere. If it were my business, I would add staff to make sure calls for my business are handled well. The facility itself seems well kept and I have noticed staff spending a significant amount of time with customers trying to explain things well. If there was a competitor with the same features, I would try another facility due to the poor response from staff, long wait times and watching customers served out of order of the line. Small town though so I’ll try again and hope for a better experience next time to be treated as a more valued customer. Corporate customer service did do a much better job of listening and apologizing for short-comings which I appreciate.

It was difficult to make an appointment, waited on hold for more than half an hour multiple times. Asked for the full to hitch install. My fault for not checking on pick up, hitch was there, ball and pin were not, wires are not connected. Unable to reach anyone at the store to help rectify this problem. Very dissatisfied.

Worst service i have had in Prescott! Pulled up to front to get propane was completely ignored by staff. Finally got the guy on his phone playing games to respond and tell me to go up front. After 30 min of waiting! someone comes and said someone lost the key the other day! So no propane for me. If i was the owner Id have a staff meeting and put a fire under that crew.

I am very happy with a service and the attitude of this uhaul location. I moved from San Diego and used uhaul few times. I had to have some work done on my van and always it was done quickly and professionally. Jeff who did the wiring was very helpful and very professional in what he had to do for me. 5 stars for Jeff.

It was busy and I expected about an hour to get everything...I was out in under 25 minutes. Scott helped me and he was totally cool and very efficient. He definitely went above and beyond and really respect that. Great job to everyone at the Prescott uhaul.

Had to make an emergency move back to Prescott from California. Needed to store all our worldly goods until we found a new home, and U-haul gave us a free months storage with our truck rental - really a lifesaver! The staff at this location are great - helpful & efficient.

It says to to others why I hate this place. Hate is a strong word.So Id rather not feel hate for this place.I do feel very disappointed with the people and place they all work in.In fact I will not want to deal any of my business with U-haul after been treated so unprofessional in my life by these folks.I ordered a part from them Tuesday they told me it would be rushed ordered and be in no later than Friday. Amazon told me it be here with in 2 shipping days.Dont want to point fingers or say his name. Other than its only 2 letters and he told me he was the manager. So Ill use __ for his name.__ told me I would be called and kept informed as to when it came in. Guess how many calls I got? 0. Not one. I took time to speak to him personally Friday after noon. He told me they would call. No call. Before I called and spoke to a gal on the phone that as rude both times. When I talked to __ another employee from behind the counter spoke up and asked. Who did I speak to? I told them a rude woman. His reply was We dont have women working here and smiled while looking at the others.They were acting a bit hyper and possibly on something.Thanks for not taking my money in advance is all I must say. That is the only thing I can say possitve about this.I have always had good dealings with uhaul in my past in all the different states Ive ever dealt with.I just wish they followed threw. Obviously they had no idea what this meant to me since I am leaving the area.Costumer service with a phone call would of changed everything. Even if they told me sorry we could not get the part.I hope u-haul reads this because Im leaving this same review on many apps including U-haul main web page.

Went online at 5am to rent a 6x12 trailer in Prescott where our storage is located while at the Marriott in Prescott. Called just before arriving and found that they didnt have any 6x12 trailer even though their website allowed me to reserve one. Now were in a panic trying to deal with 2 vehicles and a rental truck with only 2 drivers. Dont know why uhaul even has a website because its not accurate or ever up to date!

They refused to provide any info regarding what size units they have.... unless they have availability.... So how does one know if theyre worth calling? Waste of time.

Great staff. Very informative. I needed a hitch installed on my new van so I could pull a uhaul trailer on my next move. It was done in a timely matter. Also, I have rented uhaul In the past at other locations. This location told me to check with my insurance company to see if I’m already covered to pull a uhaul trailer. Turns out I was covered, so they help me save $70. The other locations never mentioned it and charge me a daily rate. This location also sells bike racks, steps and other equipment. Great store. Thanks for the tip guys.

We stopped by this shop to ask for suggestions about mirrors for better veiws hauling our new trailer, the guy sold us mirrors that are supposed to clamp onto out existing truck mirrors. First, We opened the box and it was missing a mirror, 2nd we asked the guy for help or at least an explanation on how to install them and he replied we dont have time to help you, theres instructions in the box. Terrible customer service!!

Management promotes identity theft. I rented a Uhaul and the desk worker took photos of my drivers license with her personal phone. When I asked her about it, she said she was required to by management. This is despite the fact that Uhaul has specific ID upload page on their website for you to do it yourself.

My son had rented a cargo trailer to move back here. He told them hed drop it off in Prescott Valley. When he went to the closest one to us to return it he was told no more room. Need to take it to another location. The other 2 locations in PV didnt answer their phone. They suggested he take it to the main lot. Which was here. The 1st employee he spoke with here. Not helpful at all told my son you need to call and get it okd. The other employee, Brandon, said Ill take care of you I can tell youve had a frustrating experience trying to return the trailer. And he did. He took care of us. He is the only reason I am giving it 5 stars.

Dropped a trailer here after a one way rental from the East Coast. Needless to say I was tried and irritable, and the place was busy. That said the agent was friendly, accessed the rental on his phone, unhooked everything for me, and emailed a return receipt...all in about 5 minutes. Very professional operation unlike like some uhaul places Ive been to. Highly recommended.

WHAT A DISASTER! I called this business for my 2014 Jeep to have a Tow Hitch installed. They said no problem, and I asked if they screwed up the wiring, would they fix it, they said, Yes. They installed a very UGLY installation compared to the Regular Jeep Installation, and on my first trip to Sycamore Canyon Overlook, the Jeep would NOT START! We got a ride in from the Middle Of Nowhere, and I went to U-Haul and told them the JEEP WOULD NOT START, and I needed to get it towed in, it left is in 100 degree weather STRANDED, and my wife has M.S. The OWNER replied, WE ARENT A TOW SERVICE! PISS POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! So, I had it towed in and the Jeep Dealership TRIED TO CONTACT U-HAUL, and THEY WOULD NOT RETURN THEIR CALLS!BEWARE, 0 CUSTOMER SERVICE!

The star is a minus star. as a pro mover with a major van line I treat my customers with respect, however on 10/5/16 the u-haul rep came out screaming at them and threatened to call the police if we werent out of there in 5 minutes. he was the same person who rented the unit to my shippers and was told that their things were comming in a truck and trailor combo, he said no problem. we had the truck and trailer in and were preparing to unload when he came out screaming, his manner was of a threatening and violent nature. my shipper lady seemed very frightened, as shes not a large person, and to top it off a senior citizen as well. my gent shipper kept trying to calm the situation down, but the u-haul man juat got more aggressive, so we left. it seems that this u-haul will tell people ANYTHING to get a space rented, yet use aggression and disrepect after. also I believe the uniform shirt he was wearing should be a turtleneck type, as the tatts on his neck are generally the type seen on gang members. rent from budget, ryder, enterprise, or penske if you need a truck...at least you will be treated with the respect a customer deserves, noy like this u-haul.

The problem with this U-Haul location is that it can only be accessed going one direction on AZ Highway 69. There needs to be a turning lane so customers can turn left off of AZ Highway 69 to access the business.
