Ive gone to this store my whole life for auto maintenance. Its a shame they are going out of business. If only they got the help they needed when they needed it maybe they would still be in business. I got new tires, replaced wiper blades and headlight bulbs changed. Great price. Really fast 5/5 stars. Thank you!!!!
Rip-Off only.I got a tire screw puncture so my tire had a air leak after I removed the screw. I took my car to Pep Boys to reapir the wheel... they almost perform an oil change without authorization. At the end, they recommended to change the whole wheel because the puncture was near the shoulder of the tire. However, the puncture was in the fixable area. They just wanted to rip me off.
Staff member Clinton was very helpful. Attentive, patient, and knowledgeable. He took his time to help me with my Honda CRV, gave helpfull advice, and helped to buy necessary appropriate supply. It was a very satisfying experience.
Service was good (4 tire replacement). My last visit took very long but I suppose that depends on the number of other customers in front of you.
Great service center.. they will let you know the cost upfront and also alternate in case the first option does not work. I went there with flat tire and they allowed me without appointment and they fix the flat tire + inspected all tire @19.99+tax. Not sure if cost is up to the market but service is good.
It took over 4 hours to change one tire. Since the TPMS Warning was on after changing one tire, I asked them to check upon the low tire pressure. I was told that they could not help. Just unbelievable and will never go there again.
Perfect place for maintenance till now the time that I have been there had a good experience...
Excellent. Fast, Friendly, and economical - what more could you want?!
I scheduled an appointment online for an oil change and tire rotation. When I arrived they asked, just the oil change? I said “and the tire rotation.” They said ok.I waited 3 hours and they didn’t do the tire rotation! I considered giving 2 stars because at least they didn’t charge for it (they weren’t trying to swindle me, they just didn’t do it). But this is the second time this has happened at this location and today’s wait was ridiculous. Disappointed!
Was awesome everyone there was very courteous and professional 👏.
This place is a joke. It took them over 3 hours to change one tire. And I had a scheduled appointment!! This is probably the reason they are going out of business. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worse enemy!!!
Brought my car in to get the DRL checked, charged me for a new bulb and after an hour and a half told me that I might have a problem with the ballast or the headlight assembly itself. Did not get to the root cause before throwing new parts at the problem. Would never return. Would NOT recommend.
Would be nice if you could update your profile on google with new updated hours. Because according to information on google you suppose to close at 8pm. But sign on the door states that you close at 6pm. Wasted my time driving to your store just to find out that you decided to change your hours of work.
Job was OK they put shocks and struts on my van disconnected the battery without telling me van wouldn’t startAfter I got it back call to let them know no acknowledgment of what they did I was going to have them work on my engine thank God I did not unsatisfied with the work that was done never will go back management should look over that company in Princeton Day they’re overcharging and work is not quality never return there one star that’s really too much had to changeBattery reconnected didn’t understand what they did to my van but it would not start or drive for about a month until I replace the battery never go back don’t recommend it
Called ahead and picked up two truck batteries for a company vehicle. Staff were helpful in selecting the battery and also alerted me to the current promotions that were available. I ended up saving a bunch of money on the batteries thanks to their work. We also have a corporate account which made paying for them quick and easy.
The price was reasonable and the imployees was helpful
I was picking up the part that was ordered from another store. It was on the counter 10 min after I called.Good job guys.
I came in for a routine oil change after I had just bought a used car. I was helped by a man named Oscar who took time with me to explain the other services my car needed without making me feel pressured or like he was trying to sell me something I didnt need. I know a lot of mechanic shops try to upcharge people who dont know anything about cars, but here Oscar made me feel understood and valued. I will definitely be returning to this location for his honest advice and excellent service.
Retail side is closing soon service side will remain open
I dont want to give one star for the work they performed on my Subaru forester 2014 vehicle. I approached them for some minor grinding sound during July. They spoke about tire bearings bushes stuff and charged me a huge amount of 1200$. it was told it will here some noise and takes time to adjust. A big shock for me is when I approach Anchor Subaru at Rhode Island for state inspection. My vehicle failed state inspection for the same reason. Anchor Subaru told Pep boys bluffed me and messed with bearings with wrong work. I am just thinking about making Pep boys responsible for their bad work. Some one suggest how to do that.
Perfect. Joe is an especially knowledgeable and helpful associate.
This place looks like its closing.
Came in because my battery light was flashing after getting a new battery and alternator at a Pep Boys in Delaware earlier in the day. They told me they replaced the alternator. I drove 15 minutes down the road after this repair and the battery light flashed on again. I called and the guy who answered told me that the mechanic said the car was learning the new alternator and the battery light would stop flashing after a cycle. He also added, honestly, that does not sound right but feel free to call back if you feel uncomfortable. I again asked if it could be something besides the alternator, they assured me it was definitely a faulty alternator put in at the other location. After consulting a couple other mechanics not from Pep Boys, I learned the make and model of my car does not do this. Im sure it was a line to get me not to come back late on a Sunday. When I took it to a different Pep Boys I was told I received a faulty alternator. (Eventually I took my car to a local shop and found out the problem had nothing to do with the alternator. It was an issue with the bulk head connector). After visiting 4 Pep Boys in 3 days I had gone through 3 new alternators.
Everyone was very helpful. A minor issue was resolved quickly.
I went in for a few items. Manager Sherry was very nice.
Found out no longer pep boys they changed the prices over price pep boys is only the service department and any item inside of the store is not pep boys not the same take it to AutoZone
Just purchased a new set of Cooper A/T 275R60-20 tires on Cyber Monday for my 2008 Dodge Ram 1500. What a deal B2G2. I had been shopping around for awhile for a good priced tire since my truck has 20s. Installed in less than 2 hours and that included an alignment. Thanks again will definitely use you guys again .
Would give zero star if its an option! I changed the battery in Feb. 2020, then it was dead again in Aug! Only few months after and I barely drove it, except a weekly warm-up for the engine. Pep boys asked me to towed to their shop then told me the battery was LOW! They declined to take any responsibilities for the dysfunctional battery and insist me to pay the full bill for the tow and some other labor fees! Unbelievable way of ripping off customers! And it is not the the first time I experienced this kind of bad service. Will never go there again. Definitely not recommended.Response to the owners reply:I have already reached out the customer service center. And I got a phone call claimed to be the manager of the local shop. The whole conversation was just about him trying to convince me I have to pay the tow and labor fees ALTHOUGH he agreed this is not my whole responsibilities. I dont see the logic in this. I dont see the reasoning behind the case that I got a list showing the battery was diagnosed by pepboys then I got stuck on the road and it appeared to be a dysfunctional battery, then pepboys claimed no responsibilities for any fees involved in this incident.
You are better off going to a trustworthy independent company for tires.I was on a business trip and had a flat came in to get it patched and they said it could not be patched and then said a BF Goodrich Rugged Trail A/T 265/70R16 111T would be $375 plus balancing. When I decided they were very nice and got me my truck. I then went and looked for the tire and they “forgot” to put it into the bed.I just had the tire patched and if I had had to have it replaced it would have cost $250 with install and balancing included.Never going here again for anything!!!!!!
From my phone call to make an appt until I drove away with my new headlight, my entire experience at Pep Boys of Princeton, NJ was fantastic. Everyone- was friendly and helpful and even the waiting area was pleasant and enjoyable! No kidding. It was especially nice to be helped but a young lady-Jen? I will definitely make return visits there. So if you need anything for your car 🚗 or truck or whatever you drive, go to this PEP BOYS and you won’t regret it!! Keep up the good work and keep smiling!!
Found what I needed. Friendly staff. 🙂
Yep I left many pay checks here but that is what happens when you own a car. Staff is really helpful and theres always someone who knows their stuff so over the years I keep coming back for both parts and services offered. Except for my 1986 rust bucket they dont want to touch it 😀
Went there after an accident and needed assistance with some parts and needed it to be fixed. Greg from pep boys went out of his way to help us buy the correct parts and install it! He was super quick and knowledgeable on finding the solution and thats exactly what we needed.Definitely recommend going here and ask for Greg you wont be disappointed!
From the time I spoke to Jen on the phone until checking out and picking up my car, my experience here was nothing less than great. Jen was professional, engaging, accommodating and went above and beyond. Needless to say, this was my first trip to Pep Boys and most certainly not my last.
The classic Pep Boys has remained the same, but different somehow... You can still get the basics in-store (oil, transmission fluid, most kinds of air/oil filters, general tools) and the parts desk is still the first point of contact to specific auto parts....but now most of the in-store products are throw aways (car scents/seat covers/go faster parts) and aesthetic materials with higher markups. Still, they have improved their online presence and its easier to order parts online from them.
These guys say an oil change takes 90 minutes! I hoped that maybe they were just setting expectations so they could be better but no. It’s been 90 minutes and the car isn’t done. My husband recommended this place as he has had other work done but never, ever again for an oil change. This is crazy!
This is the fourth set of tires I have purchased from Pep Boys. I have had great service from the other three, hopefully these are no exception. Car seems to drive way better since the tires, brakes and wheel alignment.
A little frustrated at first just with everything.. but then Jason, and Greg made it right. Their great guys. I felt like they were doing there best and in the end it all worked out and got done! Thank you again!
Definitely should have checked the reviews before I came. I had a great experience at the Jersey City pep boys, so I naively thought this place would be similar. Upon entering, I approached the employee behind the register. He rudly informed me he was helping a different lady. No problem. A few minutes later another employee arrived at a different cashier and I approached him. The original employee barked that the lady he was allegedly helping was next. Strange. A few minutes of the original employee standing around later, he said he can help me. Makes no sense. I asked for the oil change, and he quoted me a price that was not in line with the normal Pep Boys price. I challenged him on it, and he refused to admit his mistake. I promptly left and will be visiting another place to service my car. No way Im leaving my car in the hands of shady people like that. I dont need them finding imaginary problems with my car!
I would rate this place ZERO, if it would be possible. Never in my life I leave any comments, but this time ...Towed in the car, that cranks but not starting.Next day received a call from them and gentleman said That car needs new engine, $5.5kI drive this car everyday and sure the engine is fine, even though it has 200k milesEnded up taking it to private small shop, they changed the distributor cap, $120 and car is running againWhat is that? Scam? Or you don’t know what you doing? My honest advise, do not waste your time and money if any repairs needed... this place only to buy parts, max. I personally never ever will do even oil change or tires thereAnd... almost forgot to mention that they tried to charge me more then Required, since they realized that car will not be fixed in their shop.At the end, they got my 90 bucks for... how you call it?... finding the problem? Enjoy it, hope you become very rich one day
I had a 10am appointment for an oil change. I got there are 9:45. I didnt get my car until shortly after 11. I had to go to the service counter and ask if there was an issue because they hadnt called me yet. Oddly enough, my car was almost ready. It shouldnt take over an hour for an oil change. I need to reconsider where to take my car for service. It probably wont be Pep Boys.
Dropped my car off to have 4 new tires installed..got the call that it was ready.. Edwin & Samantha were great- very patient... picked up my car- ran an errand and headed home. While on my way home, the front end started shaking and there was a banging noise... Pulled over to find out that only one lug nut in the left front tire was tight. Thankfully had my tire iron and could tighten them to a safe point. Got home and my husband finished tightening them... come to find out, he checked the rest, and while they were more than hand tight, they all needed to be tightened. Call and spoke to Samantha to let her know, she apologized and said that she would speak to the tech that did my job. Mind you, that could’ve been a very bad outcome, and not once did she offer anything in return.. only an” I’m glad you’re okay”.. we just downy $737... and not even an offer to take any $ off or issue a credit. Glad I wasn’t on 95 when it happened.
Three weeks for a part. I offered to get the part for them after waiting a week (overnight from eBay for half the price) and they said I’d still have to pay for the part they ordered if I wanted to do so. Picked up the car after TWO MORE WEEKS (a 3 week wait without a car) and they charged me an additional fee to check the steering, which was not disclosed over phone. Plus overcharging me for steering fluid. Drove car home and it’s making a new terrible clunking sound in the steering, in spite of them telling me the steering was fine and charging me to check it out. Go anywhere else.
Very bad service!!! I will give zero star if the option is available. We bought four tires from Amazon and they were delivered to the Pep Boys Auto Parts & Service at Princeton, NJ for tire installation on May 24, 2019. We received two text messages on both Friday (May 24) and Saturday (May 25) to confirm that the tire install appointment is between 2-5 PM on Sunday, May 26 (see attachment). We skipped the long weekend activity, arranged our weekend accordingly, and got to the Pep Boys Auto Parts & Service at Princeton, NJ a little prior to 2PM on May 26, Sunday for the appointment. While we were told that there is no appointment in the record for us, and the store dont have time for the day to install the tires at all. We were simply asked to make another appointment and come back at a weekday. This completely messed up our schedule for the week. We are very disappointed. We cannot help wondering, when we reschedule the appointment, the Pep Boys Auto Parts & Service may still tell us, there is no appointment record at all.
Was traveling to Princeton from a few states away on a Saturday evening, and hit some serious car problems right outside of town. Pep Boys was able to take a look first thing Sunday morning and had us back on the road by lunch on Monday. They took great care of us and made sure we knew where things were along the way so we could make plans to extend our lodgings, etc., for the extra night.
Fast service and they had everything I needed for my car.
The staff was very friendly. They were kind enough to help me take a look at an issue I had and correctly diagnosed it.
Pretty good. I got my oil changed there one time. It was much more expensive than Walmart. Twice as much really. They do provide free air to fill up your car tires.
Great job on my new tires, wheel alignment, oil change and wiper blade replacement all in one place! While my car, I call Mr Rogue was getting his spa day, I was able to walk across the street to eat and shop at the shopping center.
Jen and Greg were amazing. Jen answered the phone and quickly guided me initial steps. Then Greg took over and resolved my issues in 1 hour 20mins. Thank you guys!
I wanted just balanced my tires. They told me, they are not gonna do that, because my tires thread is a little bit lower and he want me to buy set of 4 tires. I told him, this is not a reason, I want only tires balancing. Then he said, that my tires are too big for this cars, and he is not gonna do it, until I will buy new tires. Then he make offer for me with new tires and with same size, that I have on the car. Idiot, he just want me to buy a set of 4 tires to make a money. I say goodbye. Then I go to another pepboys shop, and they did balancing without problems
This place is so unprofessional. I am extremely understanding but the lack of respect for time is just awful. Unfortunately, I had a rental that needed to be serviced. One man claimed that he thought we had left so he didn’t put the car as a priority that they would service it. Then when the oil change was finished I was made aware of the tire having a nail in it, but I explained it’s a rental after all and not my responsibility. I made it very clear I had to be out of there to go to work at 3pm. I was given my keys, I’m looking around the parking lot my car is still on the lift and not even taken down. I had to wait about 15 more minutes just for them to bring it down. Honestly, idk who is running this place, but they need to get it together. Not sure if it was because it’s billed to enterprise or what is going on, but just the lack of organization would make me never bring my actual car here.
Brought in my beat-up mid 90s Ford and got an honest appraisal for a brake-line repair that was just too much to invest in the car at that point. I had a crazy week at work so the back and forth over the repairs and then waiting for a salvage tow lasted over a week. Despite me not paying a cent for the estimate, these guys and gals were super patient and helpful. I definitely would not hesitate to recommend friends to bring in a vehicle and I expect Ill be headed there way again at some point in the future.
Called to inquire about a replacement battery and asked if there was a good time to come in. Was told that I could come in right away. Car was dealt with very quickly and professionally. I was charged exactly what I was quoted (batteries are installed for free) and staff were very helpful/friendly/professional.
Greg was very helpful. He answered all of our questions. We had to wait a long time but he made sure to give us updates.
Went in for service: oil change, tire rotation...Service was efficient and professional. Service manager Zane, was very helpful. I decided to send my daughters car in for service before she goes back to school. Again Zane was helpful with the tire purchase and installation. Im not one to write reviews, but in these difficult times we live in, its nice to receive a smile and honest work!
Worst repair experience ever! They refused to warranty poor work performed by another Pep Boys. Very smug and arrogant staff. I will never go to another Pep Boys again. They are now dead to me. Details sent as requested. You can’t make it right you wasted 2 days worth of my time. Refund me the amount I was charged and regain some credibility for your business.
Ive been taking my vehicle here for several years and for the most part Ive had positive experiences. They can be really inconsistent with their wait times, even if you schedule it in advance, but what is most important to me is having an honest mechanic. I have friends who used to be mechanics and I usually check any major diagnosis with them to ensure Im not being told my blinker fluid is low. This Pep Boys location has been, to the best of my knowledge, straight forward and honest with me. At times theyve even advised me on what I can do myself (such as replacing headlights or an oxygen sensor) and what tools Id need to get the job done.
Easy shopping experience.
This place has terrible mechanics. I had a new battery and starter installed and one day later as I was driving, had total power failure and would’ve gotten into an accident if I wasn’t driving on an empty road at the time. This nearly also caused a car fire since the engine was smoking. I had it looked over by a mechanic who I trust and he confirmed that they screwed up on the installation. I’ll never buy anything from this place.
The salesman was very friendly and helpful. He looked up the correct size wipers for my car, which were even on sale and answered any questions I had. Then after purchasing them, they were installed free of charge. Great customer service!
I had a battery replaced here. I later discovered that the battery cover was replaced incorrectly and I was lucky it hadnt fallen off. Im going to have to go in and put things back together correctly.I also have had my oil changed there. They forgot to reset my electronic oil countdown so I had to go back later and have them reset it.I will not be going back there again.
Im actually not a huge fan of Pep Boys but Ive had some great experiences with the staff here. They seem to be honest and willing to go out of their way to help you out.The prices are fair and reasonable.
I needed a lightbulb replacement but these guys were going to charge me $60 to install them. If I wanted to spend that kind of money, Id go to the dealership. They quoted me $120 for bulbs and installation. Anyways, I went to AutoZone in Hamilton. They figured I had a burnt out socket. I bought the socket and lights for a total of $60 plus a mail in rebate for $15. After I installed the socket and lights myself they were really dim, so I went back and AutoZone replaced the lights with different ones and installed them for free. Sooooo...... you can imagine the high cost I would have paid at Pepboys. It would have probably been a total hassle. No thank you.
The PepBoys are the best! My wifes car had a flat with a nail in a bad position. I called Samantha and she arranged to get the car in and the tech to look at it. We needed 4 tires because of the AWD, nail puncture and tire tread remaining. We needed to tow the car in earlier for the tires and Samantha accommodated that. We picked up the car and Jennifer was at the service counter. Both Samantha and Jennifer were professional, courteous and knowledgeable about the situation and repairs. My wife felt comfortable and we were very, very happy with every aspect of this experience!Kudos to Samantha, Jennifer and the Boys at PepBoys - well keep coming back here! :)
Greg over in service at the Princeton nj store did a great job explaining the problems my car had and helped me get them fixed will definitely be back! GO GREG!! Highly recommend seeing Greg if you go in to the store or a gentleman named Jason that helped me at my previous visit I had
Ive been picking up parts here for years. Recently got a battery for my F150. I wanted a specific one that their website said was in stock in that store. They searched for a while and finally located it. Other stores might have given up.
Great experience! We needed a company vehicle serviced with a new battery quickly and the service time was so helpful and pleasant. We were seen that night and even offered to use a coupon. Weve been to this location prior for minor needs.
Got tires shipped from Amazon to this store for service. Have visited them twice but they still havent got the tires installed. First they said amazon gave them a different time. The second time they made me wait two hours before telling me that they didnt have sticky tire weights in stock.
I have done oil changes at this place for several times. They are very helpful and provided warm-hearted help to fix the flat tire of my car for free. I can feel that they really care about the customers. Would like to come here for service in the future.
Extremely unsatisfied! Made an appointment for 9:30 am arrived on time to drop off the car for an oil change. Came back 1 1/2 hours later and noticed the car seemed to be in the same place. Checked on the car status to find out... it had not even been looked at yet. Finally got in for the oil change at 11:30. I was now late for other things in my day. What is the point of making an appointment if its meaningless??? At any time, an update of your off-schedule was never shared ... my time was never considered ... not going back!!!
The service advisors know their stuff! They have very good knowledge in cars. Every question I asked they always had an answer. Very helpful! I’ll be coming back again.
For service their techs are at the pay grade of changing tires and nothing more. Even with that they broke my wheel lock while putting on new tires, and the manager took no responsibility. The folks behind the counter are good people, but bad management and poor service techs outweigh anything a nice person behind the counter can overcome.
Dave the auto mechanic in Princeton is AWESOME. He helped me out with something that should have been very simple but was really difficult. He went above and beyond and I appreciate him! He won me back to Pep Boys!
I bought a part that broke before warranty expired, and they refused to honor that warranty even after having taken my phone number down at the time of purchase. The management lady was extremely rude.
So heres the deal. Ive heard bad things about this place, heard the staff can be kind of rude or disinterested. I myself went in a few weeks ago for a headlight and found the part, but was brushed off by the staff. So when they were the only place in the area open and I really needed to buy and install a new battery, I didnt want to go. But I needed the battery then and thereThe first guy I talked too said the only thing in stock was $186 and they probably wouldnt be able to install it that night because it was close to closing time (it was a bit after 6 and they closed at 8, so this seemed strange to me). After I pushed a bit, he said he could ask the guys in the garage. Eventually I got to talk to Hugh, a member of the staff in the garage, and everything improved.Hugh:Found a $125 battery for me, and assured me it would not be a subpar battery for a lower priceCompleted the maintenance so that I was back home by 730Found me a coupon so I paid even less!Talked to me about Hamilton, the CD playing in my car, which had nothing to do with my car but made me smile.Hugh is the MVP of this story. If I need more maintenance, I might honestly ask for him. #goHugh #thanks
I had a simple break pad and rotor replacement at this store in August and have been driving mostly around town. This weekend I had to drive to Maryland with my partner and dog in the car. The brakes started squeaking and performing poorly on the drive when we arrived there was a horrible burning smell.I took the car to another pepboys to immediately saw that the Lawrence store had installed the wrong pads! Not only that, by the time they saw them, they said left pad was partly HANGING OFF!The Maryland store put the correct pads on for free, but had to resurface my nearly-brand-new rotors already with barely any use. Im less mad about the lifetime of my new rotors being shorted due to carelessness than I am about the risk to our safety. Unbelievable! It would have been so dangerous if it had fully detached or seized up on the road.
Just avoid this service if you dont want to be fooled. They will break your car and then charge you to repair what they damaged.I brought a rear bearing hub with me and asked them to replace it. That procedure takes no more than 30 minutes.Initially they told that me it will cost $230 (which is too much for that work). Then they broke my brake cylinder and told me to pay for new a cylinder. I refused to pay for the damage they caused. After that they told that the work took more labor time and my total will be $500+I left my vehicle there so I had no way to calculate labor time.I had to check reviews first. Worst service ever experienced.Update 26 Sep 2019After this replay I sent my contact info and they promised to contact me in 48 hours to solve the issue. It was more than a week ago. No one tried to contact me. One more time poor poor poor service.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Dropped car off just after 1pm. Simple job - the new tire in the back seat needs to be put on the front driver wheel. Super simple. Was told it would take a couple hours. Walked over to the mall, saw a movie, came back. Over 3 and a half hours later and the car hasnt even been moved. What the hell??!
Sale tags on items are misrepresented, they are really tedious rebates. Staff looks miserable, very unhelpful. Best part is i came to buy headlight bulbs for my car. It was night i asked if they could install them for me, it was an easy access to the bulb. They said its $20 per headlight labor fee. So a $25 set of bulbs will cost $75?? Went to Autozone, paid $24.99 and they happily installed them for free. No wonder Pep Boys is not doing so well.
Good first experience! I bought 4 new tires online from simpletires and had them shipped to pep boys in Princeton. Installation only cost $66 and alignment $60. The brake inspection showed no need to change the brake pads yet, contrary to what my Honda dealer said. It took 3 hours, but I did not have an appointment. When I pointed out a charge for the brake inspection despite my coupon for a free one, the service person readily removed the charge.
Update: recently tried location again and had a great customer service experience. Still haven’t used online ordering again though.Ordered something online for in store pickup. Got an email saying it was ready to pick up - even then waited a few hours, then went to get it. It wasn’t there, and the cashier was far more interested in what was on their smart phone than me. Gave two stars instead of one because at least there was a more expensive version of what I was looking for in stock so I was able to leave with my problem solved. Have had the “your order is ready for pickup” lie happen before at other pep boys locations before too. There are plenty of other auto parts and service stores in this area that have taken good care of me, so I wouldn’t bother with this place.
Pep Boys spent about one hour with my car before calling me and informing me that my repair would cost upwards of $1000. Knowing the general cost of the repair I was looking for, and the labor required, I refused service and picked my car up immediately. My dealership is doing the same repair, plus more, for half the price. They were in shock when I told them what Pep Boys wanted to charge me.Pep Boys did not so much as bat an eyelash when I told them the difference in quote... They clearly knew they werent being honest or truthful.
The people in this store were amazing. We had a tire with a gash in it late on a Saturday night. It is a weird size tire, almost impossible to get. They didnt have it in stock, but called around to several other tire stores nearby to help us find one - even though they made no money on the sale. I only wish we lived near this store so we could use it more often.
I need an appointment. They called me and asked if I could reschedule. I rescheduled my appointment for an oil change. I got there 15 minutes early. It still took them two hours to do an oil change even though I had an appointment at 2 oclock. My car wasnt ready until after 4 PM and then they both face lie telling me was because they had to check the brakes
They always have what Im looking for and the employees are very helpful with a pleasant attitude. Prices are also very good.
Excellent & thorough service. Our car repair assistant Trevor was FABULOUS. Tyvm.
I went this shop for oil change recently and I brought a coupon $21.99 for oil change up to 5 quart conventional engine oil.First I was told my car has to use synthetics oil which is $65, he said conventional oil will damage my car.but I knew my car always use conventional one; then I was told my car need over 5 quart, but I knew my car only need 4. They also charged me extra shop fee which is illegal in NJ, but they said they always do. Dont come to this shop, there are full of lying and cheating.
Very helpful and careing that I found what I was looking for
Great service especially on weekends when I prefer to go. Service is timely, and facility is clean, hot coffee for customers. All my questions were answered promptly. Just ask for the Boyz, theyre there to take care of all your car needs.
Our company has a business account. We appreciate the attention the Team at Pep Boys provides us. Thank you for your continued service.
VERY DISHONEST PEOPLE. That day I had a flat tire and stop by, handed key and then left. 20 mins later the guy called telling me the puncture was on side wall (which WAS NOT), and other tire had worn out (only 14K mi on it), and tried to scam me to buy a new pair of tire. I refused since I couldnt recall seeing any nail on the side wall.Fortunately I made right decision. I patched it elsewhere later.Thank you for trusting the boys? Big sarcasm.
This place can be pretty busy so I made an appointment and got right in. They were quick to assess the problem I described. He problem appears to be fixed. Ive been to a few other shops to resolve this issue so, Im keeping my fingers crossed that they fixed it. This has nothing to do with PepBoys, but with my experience elsewhere.Nonetheless, I am happy with my experience, service and overall cost.UPDATE 1/16/19So, after a year and a half of dealing with this problem with other shops, Pep Boys has solved my problem. Thank you Pep Boys, you rock!
Ordered something online that said this store had it in stock, when I went to pick it up I was informed that the part had to be ordered and wouldnt be in until Thursday, when I asked the manager, Al, why the site said it was in stock, he was rude and said that that it wasnt his problem. the rest of my order wasnt picked either, very poor customer service. if I could give this place negative stars I would.
Came in for tire fix with nail in it. After an hour they told me I needed a new tire. I told them I did not have enough money to get a new tire at the time, they refused to put air back in my tire and charged me $10 just to put doughnut on my car. I took the tire to my mechanic, he was able to plug and fix the tire and said the tire was fine and charged me $10. This pep boys place just wants to get you in and rip you off. I would give them 0 stars if I could.
My go to place for routine service. I once took my 7 year old C32 here to get check engine light prior to inspection. They did great job replacing an air pump. Great place, good people, reliable estimate and follow through.
I booked 2hrs ahead of time and they were able to get me in over lunch. The oil change took a little long but the service was great
Pep Boys more interested in teaching me a lesson about making an appointment than helping out. took 6 hours to get a battery replaced. We had an emergency, and needed a battery replacement on a Saturday. I drive my husband to work at a school district at 5am in the morning, so when the car went dead two times in 24 hours, we realized we had to get it done. I had made an appointment for Monday, but had to go in anyway. It took 6 hours, and the guys at Pep Boys were really interested in making sure I knew that I had made a mistake than helping me out. Its a 15 minute job to replace a battery, and they kept telling me that there were two cars in the bay ahead of mine and mine would be next. Then they said, well we told you to make an appointment. Bah! It was awful.
I went in for tires. I was desperate for all 4, wire showing on 2 of them and one leaking air. I explained to the service tech that I was broke, and he was super understanding. He somehow found a way to get me back on the road with all new rubber, as well as a free oil change (I hope this doesnt get him in trouble). So yeah, 5 stars. Treated me well, hooked me up, got me back on the road.
