Inquired about a new oil supplier/boiler service contract. Gave me a price of $194.95 for a year as a new customer price. Was told that the price would increase only $30-40 for the following year. Signed up based on that price and the service Petro offered. Called up a couple days later and was told that after 5 years the full retail value of $550 would be reached for the service contract, a $70 increase, yearly. That is the literal definition of a bait and switch. The original conversation was recorded and supervisor listened, no mention of the $550. Was then told that, Well the contract is negotiable, we work with you on price for that. Why would a service you offer be negotiable? That devalues your service when you dont have a standard price. Cancelled service immediately. Do not let them win you over with their low priced service contracts. They do that because delivering oil is their main source of profit and before you realize that every year it increases $70, they will have already gotten 6-8 oil deliveries out of you before you catch on and cancel completely. What a racket.

Great job as always with Petro Home Services. The lady I spoke with went up and above to get my oil tank filled before it’s due date. I recently had knee replacement and I’m on the mend at home which is requiring my heater to operate more than usual. My wife was scared we would run out of oil before our next scheduled delivery! She made sure to have an earlier delivery to set our minds at ease. Thank you for all your help!

This company is the best. They drug their oil hose up the highest driveway on Jacobs Creek Road to get the job done. My mother never ran out of oil despite the snow covered driveway. The delivery man was polite and friendly even though this was of the toughest deliverys. Thanks Petro!

We have had Petro for a long time after trying so any other oil companies. Their service team is amazing. This service call turned out to be a severe case of EUE (End User Error) aka I forgot that No lights turn on when the boiler is idle and I freaked out because I went to basement and saw no lights. Technician arrived on time and showed me everything was as it should be. In addition to oil, we used them for plumbing service.

Petro thank you for sending Dan to service my unit my house was cold and my thermostat had stop working it was lock up ...I replaced the two battery in the unit but was unable to make correcting the setting so I called for service...Dan arrived an took at the unit within in two min. had it going...it was program over 10 years ago never had a problem an I did not know what to do or forgot what to do because had lock up....Dan showed me how to program the unit if it lock up ...inspected the unit and heat unit made my family very happy.

I reach out because my AC wasnt working. The woman that took my call was very polite and helpful in scheduling an appointment. I was able to have an appointment quicker than I expected. On the day of my appointment, Rob (310) was timely and very helpful. He took time to explain what the issue was and options. I would definitely recommend them to diagnose the issue. We havent gotten pass that stage yet so I can not speak to the quote or replacement yet, but fingers crossed.

Petro is a great company. They are very professional in every area of the support that they provide. Prices are a bit on the high end. But as the saying goes you get what you pay for. I would highly recommend.

Over several decades I have had nothing but positive experiences with Petro (formerly Nassau Oil). Even when Petro informed me that they could no longer offer me a service contract for a unit I rent out because my tenant did not purchase her oil from them, the explanation of why they had to cancel that contract made perfect sense. The tech are always polite, knowledgeable and very friendly. When there is a problem, they always explain in detail just what it is and promptly go about getting the problem solved. I have nothing but good things to say about Petro. The oil prices are a little more than others per gallon, but you do get what you pay for in service.

We have been enrolled in the yearly service plan for years and years. We got a call to remind us to set up the appointment, and asked for a call ahead to be alerted when the technician was on their way. We got a call the morning of the appointment letting us know that the schedule was backlogged and the time window would shift to later in the day. We got another call within the new window to let us know the technician was on the way. The technician was Rob Durham (#310) and he was quick and courteous, explained what he did, and was also a good sport about keeping our cat from sneaking out the door.

He had the part my furnace needed in his truck, so he could fix it right away.Petro employs excellent technicians, as far as Im concerned. I called the company on a Saturday, because our AC drainage was clogged and we were about to leave for a longer trip. I was told that they would be charging $159.95 for their service on weekends. When I asked what further costs I might be facing, I was told that it might cost more if they would have to do major repairs and replace some parts, for example. They then sent a technician on the same day, who arrived within the scheduled time span, was very polite and took care of the problem quickly, since I could already tell him what that problem was. No new materials were needed, and the whole thing took no longer than 20 minutes. So far, so good.The unpleasant surprise came with the invoice: I was charged $288.90 for that service, including $17.95 tax. When I called the company, I was told that the additional $111.00 were the price for cleaning out the draining pipe. The $159.95 were just for coming out on a weekend day and obviously didnt include a single minute of work time. Princeton prices? Where I come from, this is called a rip-off.

Our furnace went out and the landlord called Petro. Tech #310 came, Robert Durham. He was polite and very professional from the time I opened the door to the time he left. He did efficient and great work.What I noticed most was what a kind human being the tech was. He was very thoughtful. My husband was admitted to the hospital the night before and Robert not only wished him well, but asked for my husbands name so he can pray for his recovery by name. It brought tears to my teenage sons eyes. Being a woman and a person with disabilities, it can be scary when repairmen come to the home, but Robert made me feel safe with his kind smile and all around humanity. Petro did the right thing hiring this tech. He should be the standard all repairmen look up to and strive to achieve. Thank you! Edit: I took off a star because another tech came to complete the job and he was rude and just didnt do the job. I complained and no supervisor has contacted me after 3 days. So the good is from that particular tech and the call center. They are polite and professional as well.

I’ve been a Petro customer for many years so when my AC was not working in the morning I called Petro to have it checked out. The tech Rob Durham 310 arrived by 3 pm and quickly resolved my AC problem. Very satisfied, tech was friendly and did a good job.

The customer service representative was very patient and understanding. Received and immediate appointment. The repairman is always on time and courteous. Great company and personnel.

Service came out quickly after I called about an oil leak. Dan was very nice and professional. Afterwards, the tank crew came out and they did a great job disconnecting the tank and hooking up a temporary. They left the area clean.

The Petro service technician was quickly able to determine why the furnace was leaking. We are now waiting for parts to permanently repair the problem. The technician was very qualified and professional.

Our Petro guy was super friendly even though he had to be called out here on a cold Sunday evening. He diagnosed and fixed our problem in record time too. Additionally, he put shoe covers on his shoes to protect our floors. We hope there is no need for another visit other than a routine service call, but in any case, we want him next time.

After a positive initial plumbing service call, follow-up for needed additional service has been spotty at best. 24/7 customer service means someone to speak with (customer service people are extremely nice), but the plumbing department is entirely unavailable on weekends, so 24/7 is misleading.

I have worked with Petro for decades and have had only the best of service any time I have called. If they needed to come out; they came out quickly. Since my Dad was also an oil burner man; and a teacher of it to many, I know and understand cold weather woes. In fact, o ne of the men who came to service my burner was taught by my Dad.

Petro Home Services is certainly not the least expensive company, however, they provide top notch service very quickly. Wonderful staff.

Great company if you want to run out of oil and have no heat, and then it takes days for them to come in fill you up. Didn’t happen 1 time, but 2 times in less than a year. Terrible company and they don’t care. Apparently they have some system that doesn’t seem to work. I would give them zero stars, but that’s not an option.

I came home from work to find furnace not working after checking thermostat, water level and reset button I called for service. The dispatcher was curteous and was able to get someone out within 2hrs. The service repairman was able to diagnose the problem and was also curteous. Both saying thank you for choosing Petro. I did have a service contract that helps as well.

Petro is awesome! Our heating system was not working when we woke up in the morning. We called Petro and they scheduled a repairman. Within 3 hours the professional repairman was at our house. Problem fixed within the hour and everything was back to normal. Thank you Petro.
