Best place in RI for art supplies. Student discount is nice. Only gripe is they recently changed hours and havent updated Google yet.

If you need anything do start or finish you art project, this is the place to come and get what you need, great price and the service is fabulous

This is a great art store. While they may not have everything, they do have quite a lot of supplies. The parking lot is small and had no room this day I came here, but I found plenty of on street parking, and there are several side streets near by. I was greeted the instant I stepped in the door and was directed to where I needed to go. I needed some oil paint supplies, and they had 95% of what I needed. The staff is very friendly and occasionally checks in on you if you look lost, which is great in my opinion, and the store is clean and well lit. I recommend this store all day and will be back for sure!

Yikes! I have no idea what store the other 5 star reviewers were visiting but - for clarity sake I am writing about the Blick on Wickenden Street. Stock was average, prices above average, parking was tight or non existent. Store was tiny & dirty. I really wish there was an independent family art supplier in Providence that has what people actually need and not owned and operated by a smarmy corporate chain that has confusing sales tactics, ever changing price schemes and irritating employees. One can only dream :)

One of the most variations of art supplies Ive seen since Pearl Paint closed. The store surprisingly sells Montana aerosol cans, however, they are well above market price as well as Molotow and Krink markers.

They have all different kinds of art supplies and some crafting things. This place is amazing! The staff are wicked sweet also and very helpful! Love this place!

Easy access off RT 195 - this place has it all. Located near RISD and Brown University. Blick has a selection of quality papers sketching materials and all the pens and inks and brushes you would require. They have Clay and oil paint frames and several kits for a younger artist. They are right across from the coffee exchange on Wickenden Street in Providence Rhode Island.

Blicks in Providence has an amazing panoply of art supplies at very good prices. I shop here with confidence that I can find what I need and also see the newest products. Its a small shop but I like that it isnt overwhelming with aisles and aisles. The shelves are highly organized with friendly and knowledgeable staff to help if you have a question.

My husband and I had a small project to complete. Neither of us have any art skill or knowledge but the employees helped us out a ton in choosing paint and tools.

Blick art store is the best. Their paints are minimal in price and you can find what you need. I prefer paint that is very thick and they had the mediums I needed for a very frugal price. The canvases are high category and ready to use. Highly recommend.

Helpful, friendly staff. Try checking online to see if your item is in stock in the store. Went there for Copic Markers only but saw lots of paint, pastels, pencils, dyes, canvas etc. Limited, free on-street parking. Small parking lot but I think its for employees.

All the art supplies imaginable crammed in a relatively small space. A bit of a wait during Covid era as only 9 people were able to be inside at a time. I was surprised at the low prices and ended up spending 60 bucks when my intention was to only check this place out. Parking may be an issue for those without a bike. Extremely recommend.

Due to delays I got there early evening, but they did not have my item on hold and told me it is policy to keep only for a day. Except I had called earlier that same day. Its such a small store, how difficult can it be to just place one item aside for a struggling mom.

Was asked if I needed any help. When I told the employee that I did, infact, need help, and that he should show up to my fishing boat at 3am on Monday he laughed at me.

Staff is very kind and helpful. Store has a good variety of supplies. Although some items can be expensive, with the membership card you could possibly get a discount. They have good deals and sales sometimes. Parking can be difficult to access, not many spots.

I was not happy with the available stock, especially the pricing which was quite different from what they advertised online. When I inquired about this discrepancy, the assistant manager was really loud and testy, as though being over the top would intimidate me. Absolute waste of my time, theres no point in going in when I can order better prices online from other merchants.

I purchase my artist oil paints, and brushes, online from Blick Art Materials. I paint only landscapes. I find the costs for artist quality branded oil paints, and brushes, are far less costly at Blick Art Materials, than any other place.

Excellent selection of art supplies. Oil, water, acrylic and enamel paints by various top brands. Full line of markers, pencils, chalks and more. Turps, thinners, spirits and other thinners and cleaners. Full selection of canvases as well as parts to repair and build your own frames. Highly recommended. As far as prices they are in line with other artist supply stores.

Beware. Because of the mask requirements which hide faces they act extra paranoid about shoplifting and will follow and harass whoever they see fit. Must be so exhausting for them!

This Blick is located in a kitschy part of Providence near Brown University amongst art galleries, antique stores and coffee shops and bars. Street parking is available. My daughter is a budding artist and we enjoy making the trip down here. The selection is plentiful.

1) selection was poor, especially canvas2) prices were higher than online. A few items were lower, but most were $5-$10 higher3) some staff was weird and annoying4) store dusty and dirty5) parking lot was tiny and littered

Great college town art store. They have it all and then some. Staff is super knowledgeable and help a with smile every time. If you are an artist, its the place to go.... Or just to drop in and smile. Go for yourself and check it out.

I go there all the time, they have everything I need. The people are super friendly and welcome you with a smile when you walk in the door and are open to any questions you have. I go there for the great deals on markers and paints. They also have good prices for their graphite, Tom bow markers, colored pencils, and so much more. Awesome place for any artist!

Pretty good selection of paints, colors, and quantities for a small store. Prices are reasonable, and you can even beat online prices with a student or educator account.

Polly was very snooty and didn’t offer much help or make me feel like a valued customer.

Not very helpful staff. I walked in to pick something up and had no idea where anyone was and just stood there for bit. And when I finally saw someone, noone approached me, even though I was standing at the front register. I had to walk up to them to ask if they worked there to get any help. Good assortment supplies though.

One thing for other customers to note is the price online can be different from the price in the store. I would suggest anyone who talks to the customer about the purchase-in-store-pick-up-curbside gives them a heads-up if there is any price discrepancy. So I don’t have to buy a stapler that’s twice as expensive as the one online and can’t do a price match because I don’t have a blick card.But thankful for their service in this difficult time. No return until when they reopen again.

Xenophobic & judgmental staff. They need to not be so suspicious of everybody. I will take most of my business to Amazon. I never get that vibe from Amazon ;-)

My wife shop here all the time. Lil pricey but good quality. But dont get caught taking any pictures.. Or you will be in trouble as one store clerk told me while taking a picture of something I was going to buy for my wife later. ☺

One of the best art supply stores I have ever been to. From basic craft type materials to very advanced paints and brushes, if you cant find it here then its probably not available. Did I also mention that their staff is very friendly and accommodating?

Its difficult to find a Blick store, and this one is a 50 minute drive. However, its always worth it. Its small but well stocked. Plenty of mediums to choose from and I wish their sculpting inventory was more fleshed out. Preferred rewards is a free sign up and well worth it if you expect to visit their physical or online store, even infrequently.Parking can be a hassle. Located near brown and the financial district, so there are plenty of nearby attractions if you want to make a day of it.

Very cool store! Super friendly & really helpful staff. They really took the time to help my 13 y/o son about sketching pencils The store was clean and the set up was eye catching. I really enjoyed browsing their markdown & book sections. I totally recommend Blick Art!

Been to this small store a couple of times, its all right for the most basic of supplies. The Jerrys Artarama nearby seems to have a much wider selection, but it is a bigger store. Blick is like an artist gift shop or maybe convenience store. I got what I needed (mini sketchbook), not wanted (pilot g2 pens) and thats what matters.Side note: Did feel like I was being watched, but it is a small store so the employees were hopefully just hoping Id ask them something and give them something to do.

My favorite place for art supplies. Staff is extremely knowledgeable and willing to help with any advice. Prices can vary but theres usually some pretty good sale items. Its a great place for restocking your supplies or even just browsing. Easy to get to, small parking area next to the building as well as street parking.

The staff is really friendly. Its a tiny store but they are usually good about keeping a large inventory of art supplies. Its a bit on the pricey side but welcome to the art world because most art supplies is not cheap.

A wonderful little art store to get your fix on supplies. Very relaxed atmosphere without having salespeople shadowing you. Decent discounts on media/supplies, whether its a large canvas you need for your latest project, or just a mechanical pencil for your blueprints.

Staff are helpful and resourceful. Prices are a lot better than the RISD store. Also their is always a sale, so you will definitely be walking away with a hefty bag full of amazing art supplies.

For art supplies and more, Blicks is the place to go in Providence. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Demonstration classes are available. Its one of their smaller stores but well worth the visit.

This may not be the biggest Blick store in the country but they almost always have what you need. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and super friendly.

Has everything you need and can order anything extra. Friendly, non-snobbish staff is great! Theyve got demos on Saturday afternoons. Reasonable prices.

I love this Blick store. It is just the right size, they always have what I’m looking for, and the employees are friendly and helpful. I also love that they always seem to have a deal going on, so coming here is (although a bit further from the RISD campus) less expensive than the RISD store.

Ive only visited the store once, but the was a wide selection of objects to purchase that it appeared to be impossible to leave empty handed. I went in looking for items specifically and was told to sign up for the rewards card. I did, and it also saved me $20 as it automatically gave you the online prices in-store! Would definitely return again for any of my arts and crafts needs!

Great shop, has everything an artist needs student or professional. And customer service is very chill & helpful with finding the things you need especially if you dont know what exactly it is youre looking for, theyll help you figure it out also giving info about all of the items along with pretty good advice on which ones to buy

Its a wonder why art supplies are so dang expensive, but the guy we had helping us was fun, friendly, and smart. Couldnt ask for more. Everything was clean if a little disorganized. For example, the paint brushes were all jumbled together despite having ~15 sizes, each with a different price. The paints were not labeled but had a confusing price guide near them. If it wasnt for the guy helping us, we wouldnt know how much our purchase was until we got to the register. Still, I recommend Blick Art Supplies for high quality.

Great selection of materials! High prices but frequent markdowns. One star for customer experience. Blicks website reports a 9:00 opening time on Sundays, but this location opens at 10. This is correct on Google Maps so I should have realized, but the staff at the Providence location made me WAIT OUTSIDE in cold March weather when I showed up at 9:57. I work in retail myself and would understand if I had arrived say... Fifteen minutes before official opening time. But for three minutes AND given the incorrect information online, itd have been just as easy and a lot less rude to open the doors and let me start browsing while they finished opening. Ill likely be using Blicks website in the future.

As a working artist out of Cape Cod. I drive 2 hours to go here as the level of supplies are top notch. Also, the staff is super knowledgeable.

Without fail, Blick/Utrecht in Providence is my go-to art supply store for best brands of paints, prices, parking, convenience to the highway.

This building may have changed names/ownership, though it remains a wonderful place to get your art supplies. They have competitive prices, and always beat out big box stores.

1) Dishonest pricing practices. They caim to match the store price with the web price which is totally untrue. Every single time I bought something at the storethe price was higher than online.The store explanation is the shipping charges that are charged online are added to the store bough items. However there are NO shipping charges with purchases over $35.2) Selection is rather limited, mostly aimed to student and lacks some of the high quliaty items needed by professional artist.3) Blick online change prices dramatically without any logial explanation. For instance, some Old Holland oils went from $37 (August) to $47 (November). However Old Holland has not chaged their prices and there has not been any US/EUR fluctuation to justify that increase.

Its so much closer than other ceaft stores. They specialise in drawing/painting mediums. And they have some super cute little gift ideas.

Supplies are somehow limited and they do not carry high quality items /brands that can be found at other Blick stores.Staff is usually very friendly, however they do not have hands-on experience / knowledge if you need help / information on some products.Mayor issue is their obscure pricing practices, even if they claim they match the price with the online Blick store, they do not and on some items you may end paying twice as much as online.Bottom line, unless I need something right away, I prefer to place my orders online and save a LOT of money.
