So I want to first say this is a great place but its more pub than lounge or chill place to smoke. I think its great place for anyone from 21 to upper 30s cause of the vibe. Best eye candy of all the cigar spots in Providence (Karissa is a firecracker), ownership is wonderful and; you can tell they care about the product they put out there, service is chill theyre friendly enough and theres a huge selection to pick from. My buddy is a regular and they knew what he came for as we walked in and that speaks huge for me. You could dress or dress down if thats your preference. I was in love Ol Blue Eyes aka Frank Sinatra night. Theres live music and the people in here are great. I could see making this my weekend spot.

If youre in the mood for a classy and relaxing place with a Speakeasy vibe, then this joints for you. The subtle smell of cigars permeate the dark leather seats, which adds some richness and intrigue to the drinking experience. I really loved this place. Id like to see more of variety on the drink menu but no one will have a hard time finding the perfect spirit to enjoy there-Im just being picky. Looking forward to a return visit.

Was treated very well here. An Improvement on the previous bartender there from way back... this woman was professional, courteous, fun, and just good people. Had and took home a couple good smokes AND she helped me out with a humidor issue that had been nagging me. Very gracious and I feel rotten I cant call her by name here because she deserves props and personal acclaim.

It was so humid outside that the humidor was literally a misting system, which can harbor bacteria.The prices were average and the selection was decent. Id say it was like a 25 sq ft room.The exhaust system was very inadequate. There were typical house fans mounted high to blow the air around, because the load on the building system was undersized. These fans were coated with years of cigar smoke butter. Everything caked a nice carmel brown.I stunk so bad after being in there for an hour, that I had to wash my clothes twice to get the stunk out.The beer selection and prices were also decent. They did carry some local brews which I always think is a nice touch.The employees were outstanding. So friendly, informative and made us feel welcomed. We talked with them most of the night which made the stay worth it.

Hanleys is a great place in Providence to grab a quality cigar and a few drinks. Music nights are good and staff is super friendly. It can get a little crowded, especially on the weekends but if they can work it out youll find a spot. Definitely recommend.

Great cigar lounge! Ale House Cigar Bar is a favorite spot to enjoy a great cigar and an accompanying libation. The staff if beyond friendly, very attentive and know their stuff. They offer a wide selection of cigars including the popular brands we all know and love, as well as pricier, higher-end, boutique brands. The staff is very knowledgable both of cigars as well as liquors. Speaking of which Ale House offers a great selection of beers ranging from run of the mill all the way to better quality microbrew types. Aside from beers, the selection of scotches, whiskies and Ports are excellent. A patron will certainly find a cigar and drink that pair well with his/her mood and taste. The atmosphere is very inviting with comfortable leather barrel chairs, and decor feels both luxurious and historic at the same time, very relaxing. Centrally located in downtown Providence, parking can be a worry, however, there is typically plenty of street parking, and numerous paid lots surrounding Ale House Cigar; Ive never experienced any problems finding parking. Every so often Ale House offers dinner events, sponsored by a specific cigar brand. These special events required prepaid reservations and are catered with fantastic food rivaling what one could find at several of Providences very best restaurants, truly outstanding! Stop by for a smoke, you will not be sorry.

A cozy little cigar bar! They have a good selection of drinks, but dont serve food. Dont let that dissuade you though, theyre fine with you getting takeout delivered or bringing your own food in. Their humidor is well stocked and the staff is knowledgeable about their selection of smokes too.5 stars, would definitely recommend!

Excellent enviornment! The staff is great and very easy to talk to. They help you pick out a cigar if you would like one and the walk in humidor is extensive. Overall I enjoyed my trip a lot. I also really liked the lounge set up and the option for bar seating.

Love the ambience and the place. Choicest of cigars for my friends. I dont smoke, but my friends enjoy it here.i had poutine here which was great. Lots of choices on the drinks menu. Though food options are available i guess only on the weekends.

Completely unprofessional bartender tonight. I believe I recognized the woman as a customer falling off of a stool drunk in a past visit. I knew that day from casual conversation that she had worked the day and was still there drinking. I was surprised she was still employed there tonight after seeing that incident. I am in town monthly and service is usually excellent. Tonight I was feeling I was a burden for coming in with my guests as soon as we arrived, a smile vs a dirty look goes s long way. We then overheard the bartender loudly complaining about a former bartender to another guest. She again sounded intoxicated. Then after that guest left, we were actually told to leave before midnight after arriving at 11:30 p.m. Please stick to the professionals as I would for my business.

Went here with a group of friends after another bar celebrating our graduation. Cigars are usually a fun thing to do on a day like this. We were denied service although we are all well over the age of 21 and the staff on hand rudely explained that they do not have an ID scanner and that they base who they serve on “judgement.”I found it rude and unprofessional to not serve all customers equally and to treat older gentlemen in nice suits better than a younger client with the misconception that they may spend more money than us younger ones, which is not true at all. Truly sad to see such a judgmental staff, especially during pride month and grad season when they should be celebrating new customers in.Would never go back and would never recommend this place to any of my friends or family, which mind you, had plenty of money to spend there. Poor business decisions on the part of this place. Not worth your time when there are many other cigar lounges in the Providence - Boston range that are much more of a relaxing, fun atmosphere as a cigar lounge should be.If I could rate this place below one star, I would.

Best cigar bar around, we come from South coast Mass

We had high hopes for this place, but sadly our first experience wasn’t impressive. My wife and I went with some friends of ours, another couple. We were able to find seats easily enough and after about five minutes the waitress came over to tell us about a cigar and spirit pairing they were offering. She then said, “and gentlemen, you can go over to the humidor and you’ll be let in to select your cigars.” Now, my wife is an aficionada and our other lady friend also enjoys cigars; we found it surprisingly presumptuous and a little narrow minded that the waitress didn’t make the same offer to the ladies in our party. This annoyed my wife and our lady friend who then promptly marched to the humidor to pick out their cigars.Despite the tall ceilings, a ventilation system, and the fact that the front doors were open, we were surprised at how smokey the lounge remained. The bar wasn’t especially crowded, but we didn’t get as many check-ins or refills from the wait staff as we had hoped. It seemed that the older gentlemen in fancy suits got more attention than us 30-somethings looking for some after dinner drinks and cigars.Overall, we were disappointed and do not plan on going back. This is a shame as we had been going to CigarMasters on West Exchange Street for over a decade until they shut down a few weeks ago.
