They really romance you at PVDonuts. The donuts are so beautiful you want to buy them on looks alone and then SURPRISE theyre amazing, tender, light, bites of heaven! Both their brioche and their cake style donuts are fantastic which is a rare find, I try donuts in every new town I visit and usually places are team cake or team yeast. Way to bring the talent guys, Im so glad I made a special trip to visit!
I like the brioche style donuts and the filled ones a lot. Almost all the ones I had I loved. If you think you don’t like these, try a different “category” because I wasn’t a huge fan of the old fashioned ones at all and thought I didn’t like them here until I tried the brioche ones. Some of the donuts are incredibly sugary and not my style but kids probably love them.It has a very childish theme inside but it works with the place.
Honestly these are probably some of the freshest donuts I have ever have. The freshness and quality is there! Loved the yeast donuts and the cake donut. I would say that the flavors are not what I was expecting, a little underwhelming but overall really great donuts. The store and merchandise is also extremely adorable!
Their donuts here are the best and the service is one of a kind. They have a great selection and the prices are very reasonable too.
OMG! So mouth watering good. Best donuts I have ever had.
My wife said she brought home donuts. They weren’t donuts! They were 2lb slices of heaven! The maple bacon donuts (not sure of the real name) were like a slice of heaven. Outstanding! Honestly never had better.
Very delicious and absolutely worth it! My family and I went around looking for breakfast and we decided to grab some donuts. We could have not picked a better place! Extremely decadent treats and very friendly atmosphere, the cashier I had was very nice and helpful, also patient when I was trying to figure out which goodies to get. Would definitely make this a regular visit whenever we come back, thanks from Chicago!
Absolutely delicious donut creations! We made an out-of-our way stop to Newport. They have cake donuts, filled, kosher and flourless options. Every donut looked enticing. One of my partners in crime had a carrot cake donut which he devoured. Maple bacon donut and a Hostess - inspired donut were inhaled by the others. Mine was an apple strudel donut which took quite some time to consume but I loved every bite.
The donuts are amazing and the monthly menu is fun and we always look forward to when the new one comes out. The pickup window is genius. I love it. My mom is sick and is indulging in all her favorite things right now. PVDonuts was one of her requests this weekend. She wanted the blueberry and I got the purple cow. I hope I have time to go back for the July menu because they were delicious!
Good not great donuts.Loved the unique flavors and lots of variety (brioche/yeasted, cake, and flourless donuts) but wasn’t too impressed with the taste. (It may be because I prefer a regular yeasted donut.) The flavors were great but it was really heavy. Also had to wait on a long line to get in. Def order ahead for pickup
A must-visit when in Providence, it was less than an hour after landing at BOS that a dozen pre-ordered rounds were unboxed, the fact that PVDonuts continues to sell out daily during COVID-19 a testament to quality that remains unparalleled anywhere in America. No lines in 2020, though Social Distancing has done nothing to slow down Paul and Lori Kettelle’s creativity or ever-changing list of scratch-made flavors, it was along with two adults and a child that Baked Apple Pie was divided, fluffy Brioche standing up well to fragrant filling both here and in the case of Pumpkin Puree as well as Cookie Butter.Still impressed by PVDonut’s multitude of styles, the rarity of seeing Fritters, Crullers, Cake, Old Fashioned and Yeast in the same shop not lost on a connoisseur, it was beneath a Cookie plus Maple Cinnamon-Sugar that Dough remained airy, though so too was the case with one-day-only “Friendsgiving” featuring Fried Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, Cranberries and Stuffing.Personally favoring Old Fashioned Donuts, and happy to see three on the November menu, it was following Blueberry Cake featuring no mix but fresh local Fruit that “Oreo Cheesecake” took center stage, its texture crumbly yet melting with expected richness while a version with Caramel and Pecans was equally delicious.Showing well with Carrot Cake, though Walnuts or Raisins would have added to the effect, seasonality was spotlighted with three more Pumpkin Donuts, the Brioche and Starbucks-riffing Cake both enjoyable while the sliced, filled and loaded Pumpkin Cannoli Old Fashioned was a work of art.
Love this place, absolutely delicious brioche doughnuts. Tons of options to choose from as well. Good coffee, and friendly staff!
The hype is for real. The brioche style flavors are the best donuts I have had in my life. I will say their fritters tend to be a little more thick with a higher dough to crust ratio I usually expect. Their crullers are very good, though they are a bit heavy for a cruller, which I expect to be lighter and airier. 4.5 out of 5 with the ding on the items I mentioned before. Google doesnt allow increments of half a star, so Ill round up to 5. This establishment deserves it.
This is the most dangerous place in the city. If I worked there Id be fired in an hour for consuming product. That said - if you are looking for exceptional donuts this is the place. I keep trying different flavors thinking that there has to be a bad one - so far nothing. But I will persist and keep trying different flavors - I feel I owe it to the world to make sure!If youre on a diet you shouldnt even go on this street.
First visit, so many options! Family of 6 loved every donut we tried so far! Traveled 30 minutes from Wrentham, MA an learned about pre-orders and will do that next time. Just order the day before and skip the line to collect from the pickup window. They serve local Borealis coffee - also worth grabbing. Now excuse me as I collapse in a food-induced coma 😴
I just want to give a huge shout out to PVDonuts! I had a pretty big pre-order scheduled for my daughters birthday party. The day before her party, I was notified that someone in my daughters class had tested positive for COVID and therefore she would have to quarantine. I naturally freaked out because I had 44 donuts on order. I reached out to PVDonuts, explained the situation and asked if I could reschedule my order for the following Saturday. PVDonuts was EXTREMELY accommodating and understanding of the situation and had no problem rescheduling the order for me (even outside of their cancellation policy). I truly appreciated it and it showed that their level of customer service is beyond great! Plus, the donuts were AMAZING as usual!! Thank you PVDonuts!!
Only two donuts available to choose from, donut we ended up with was a bit hard.
Today there was a longer wait than usual, but well worth it. We picked up a dozen donuts to bring to friends on Cape Cod for the superbowl. Staff is awesome and they make the most unique and fantastic donuts Ive ever seen!Best of luck to the owners on their continued success! My fiance and I have an appointment to talk about having them do our wedding cake so well see you soon!
Nope just nope. Terribly Un-organized staff. A pickup window with no signage? I waited in line before the store opened just to be told to go back outside to grab my order? There isn’t even a number to call to clarify anything? Last time I will be picking up from PVDonuts. Sad since our office loves them. How are people who arrived drastically after me, leavening before me? I placed and paid for my order a day prior. I sat and watched a woman go back and fourth with my order forever. If your going to implement a system? How about you make sure it works well?
First time there, appreciate the careful running of the business and steps they have taken for everyone involved. The donuts are Really Good!! Service was excellent, and appreciated the help provided because it was needed for me at times. Happy that they have flourless options, brought home some twix, and maple walnut doughnuts. Also for me had two each of red velvet waffle brioche, cookies and milk, and dulce de leche. Works of art they are. Will be back after the 1st, 2021.
About the best glazed raised I’ve had. Succulent and soft.
Amazing donuts. We pick some up each month of a selection of their new monthly menu. My son and I look forward to it, as it’s become our thing we do each month. So good and very filling.
They got the best donuts hands down and the service is pretty amazing. The service staff are friendly and their prices are fair.
Im not a big donut guy but this place is pretty special. The donuts are huge, fresh and flavorful. The flavors change every month which makes for a new experience each month. The service was friendly, courteous, and patient. There was a line on Wednesday morning, but that just tells you they are doing it right.
Good experience this morning visiting PVDonuts. Long wait line outside to get in, and once inside many donuts were sold out (approx. 11:00AM on a Sunday). The donuts we did get were very good, with the brioche donuts being the best ones out of the range of sampling we tried. Definitely recommend preordering the day before in order to skip the line and guarantee you get the donuts you want.
I don’t give 5 stars often, but this place deserves every one of those stars. The artistry put into these donuts along with the unreal flavor makes this place a must try. I would say out of all the amazing donuts in this photo to hidden gem is the stuff donut holes that they don’t put out that you need to ask for.PVD nicely done today as always! The Mexican hot coffee donut hit the spot! Thanks
There’s a reason the line is out the door! Huge donuts with inventive flavors. Pumpkin macchiato was my favorite! But they offered a variety so there is something for everyone. They even have a few vegan options. Get there early if you can on the weekends, the line is killer and some flavors sell out.
Amazing donuts!! I liked that they had a variety of dough types. You can get a cruller, cake doughnut or brioche based. They also have gluten free options. They are a little pricey but you get what you pay for. Theyre nice and doughy and they come in many interesting varieties. This is a great place if youre in the mood for something extravagant. They do have some that arent as fancy but thats not their MO. They have surprisingly good seating for a small place, although Im sure it gets crammed in the winter. Go very early if you want to make sure to grab a favorite. Ive gone late morning-noon time on a Saturday and they still had a lot to choose from. Staff is friendly too!
Gluten free donuts? Yes please! Specialty flavors that change every month keep me and my partner coming back for more
Arrived one hour after opening to find a line of ~20 people down the street. Line continued to double in size behind us. After over 45 minutes, we finally were able into the store which allows 4 shoppers at once (including kids or accompanying people who may not be making individual purchases...). We were able to be very quick while in there, while another pair alongside us took several minutes discussing each donut with staff. Distancing and masks were well practiced during the entire experience. Staff was friendly, safe, and fast. Expensive- to be expected. Donuts were original and yummy but very heavy. Also, appears to b some sort of pickup/order ahead program that kept staff busy and people were going ahead of the line. Also, most people in line would get 6-12 donuts, while others may be several minutes getting 24+... have to think this behavior contributes to the long, and cold, wait.
Their donuts are delicious and the variety of flavors offered is always fun. Its always a bit crowded with a wait time, but the food is worth it. We always stop here on our way back from Massachusetts road trips.
The people are friendly. Plenty of options to choose from. Fresh made in house. You cant go wrong. Definitely worth looking into. I know my wife and I will visit as often
They have some really creative donut flavors and pairings. The flavors were ok. Ive had similar before in other places. The PBJ donut was really good however the oreo muffin was very very dense. I didnt like that one so much.If you go later in the day as I did, many of the flavors are sold out already. Boo.
All the employees were so grumpy, snapping at customer after customer. Their attitudes really turned me off of the place. The cruller was so soggy that we threw it away, and the coffee milk donut tasted more like salt than coffee. I get that the donuts look good, but Ive given this place plenty of chances and it just plain sucks.
Try the everything bagel donut! It’s an interesting combination of flavors and probably the best donut I’ve ever had.
Really cool place. The location is a bit strange I feel like it belongs somewhere else idk why. But its a very hip crowd there. College student vibe. Very cutesy place. Parking around there can be stubborn. The donuts are pretty pricey. But its the only nice donut place around so I dont see why not take advantage of it. Cool place to get some cool donuts. Highly recommend if youve never tried before. So many different donuts and what not.
What an experience. This is beyond your normal gourmet donut shop. They’re artists. An edible museum exhibition to fried dough. Entire meals in/on one donut. Coffee is delicious and the staff is friendly. We drove an hour from Massachusetts and it was totally worth it. With their seasonal and monthly menu changes, further visits may be required every month!
Fantastic flavors! Very creative! We tried an pumpkin machiatto, Snickers filled, and blueberry filled. Let me start by saying their brioche donuts are by far one of the best brioche donuts Ive ever had, the pumpkin machiatto paired well with the brioche. The Snickers was tasty but I didnt care for the filling very much. The blueberry filled was also good, it reminded of a blueberry toaster strudel in the best possible way. Will definitely back if Im ever in Providence again.
Amazing donuts. Some really different things. What I got was great! Service was very friendly too!
Is any donut worth getting up early Saturday morning, standing in line for 25 minutes on a cold day? Simply. Yes.What can I say, PVDonuts not only has a creative array of face-sized donuts, but they’re to die for. My favorite were the Strawberry Shortcake and Maple Bacon donuts. But it’s hard to go wrong. It’s a fairly small place, so you might or might not get a seat. Consider yourself a bit lucky if you do.Service is friendly and pretty quick.Go go go go go!
Best Donuts bar none no one comes close.
First Timer! Stopped by PV Donuts last weekend after hearing from countless friends how good their donuts are...or should I say full on dinner plate size topped to the max and bursting with ingredients donuts! I was planning on getting just the one but ended up walking out with a box of about a dozen! You really cant make the wrong choice, each and every donut was perfect and absolutely delicious. Its a good thing I dont live next door or I would be here every morning! A truly must try!
This place never disappoints, we go once a month to try the variety of amazing flavors and specialty donuts and coffees that they have. I suggest everyone tries this place. Can’t wait for next month to see what they have!
My wife and I recently planned our small wedding in Rhode Island, and to continue or non traditional theme, we decided to have donuts served instead of cake. We have a specific place in Maine that we love and we were trying to find a place to match that in Rhode Island and PV Donuts absolutely met our expectation and blew it out of the water. We ordered around 65 donuts in total to make sure to account for some people possibly wanting a couple. That being we definitely had a handful of takers at a second, even though these donuts were huge! They were so great my family took the leftovers with them. My personal favorite was the maple bacon, but there wasn’t a single one that I tried that wasn’t amazing. We placed our order online just a few days before the wedding since the menu was being updated that week, but everything went very smoothly with our planner picking it up and we couldn’t have asked for better. We’d recommend PV to anyone!
PVDonuts has been my list for the longest time. This morning I spontaneously decided to go there (I live in Massachusetts, about an hour away). Arrived around noon and had to wait in line for maybe 15 minutes, which based on their popularity is not a bad wait at all. They were sold out a good portion of their flavors but more than half the menu was still available and it looked like they had small batches to replenish stock. The variety in flavors was nice as well. They also have vegan options, though those had sold out by the time it was my turn. Overall the experience was better than I expected, definitely worthy of the 5 stars. As for the donuts.....my God. Theyre HUGE!!! I got 6 donuts to sample and each one was delicious. Definitely not an everyday thing, but absolutely worth the drive for a once in a while treat.
Friendly staff, fun food options.
I have had many, MANY donuts. Too many in fact. (Or is there such a thing?) PVDonuts brioche base is unlike anything else I have ever had. #BestIEverHadThe brioche base is so good that I could eat it even without the glaze and crazy toppings. Their bricohe donuts have serious HEIGHT. The donut is pillowy soft on the inside, with beautiful, light, crispy frying on the outside. Every bite a delight and every donut there is delicous. This review is long overdue, but some person favorites over the last few years have been the Dunkaroos, Cookie Butter, Brown Butter Waffle, and the Cardamom Cruller.P.S. You can order a day ahead if you dont want to wait in line! They also post donut special to Instagram so you should follow them!
Wonderful donuts that are reasonably priced, even cheaper and better than Knead! However, I felt very rushed in the store to order by the staff, they also werent very talkative.
Ill be honest and I know this isnt for everyone but I walked in there like it was April 2020. Taped off lines, 6 person limit, masks, do not touch signs everywhere. It seems to be the only place in weeks that are still living mid covid but also the donuts were...ok. nothing to write home about
These are good donuts, dont get me wrong but, I think they are heavily overrated. A lot of their donuts are brioche and very heavy, the brioche donuts are kinda bland, especially the glazed. Their cake donuts however, are phenomenal. Id say if youre in town and down of donuts, try them but, dont go out of your way to try these.
Overpriced donuts an terrible customer service.
They need another person who treats good the people costumer service 0. They was talking about the people in front of me ..and they giving attitude to every one .. donuts 5 star really good the best on town but sorry 0 because for the attitude ..
SO GOOD. Massive donuts, tons of options.
Id say Im a donut connoisseur given Ive had them all my life and tasted the best of them in LA and throughout the Pacific Northwest. I will admit these donuts are delicious and worth the experience. The tiny shop is located in residential part of Providence, so theres plenty of street parking available. We stopped in on a rainy morning and waited about 20 minutes in line, which gave us time to feast our eyes on the display donuts showcasing each of the few dozen or so options, including a few gluten-free types. The flavors are all lined up and labeled clearly, so you can easily decide what you want or maybe not because they all looked so good. They offer both traditional cake raised donuts and brioche style yeasted donuts. I prefer latter which is big and fluffy. Price of the donuts range $3 to $4.50.We ended up getting the blueberry short stack, matcha cheesecake, berries and cream, cinnamon roll, chocolate truffle, strawberry lemonade and traditional blueberry cake donut. Everything is incredibly yummy, perfectly sweet and none of them disappointed us. I can really taste the flavor they intend them to be. Both blueberry short stack and chocolate truffle are work of art. The tiny pancake stack with small inserted tube filled with maple syrup on top of a blue berry donut is a clever concept. The surprise kicker, is that it is jelly filled so expect an extra reward in every bite. I really like the texture of the yeast donuts. I loved the subtle matcha flavor of matcha cheesecake. I thought cinnamon roll was okay, too dense for my taste buds and blueberry donuts a bit average.Overall, Id say this is a must try spot in Providence to experience good quality and unique type of donuts. They even rotate their menu every month. It definitely made an impression on me that I came back a few days later.
Disappointing experience..Waited in line in the rain for vegan donuts over an hour before noon and regularly downloaded and checked their app while in line to confirm that they hadnt posted that they had run out (they state they will update it with status updates). Once getting inside, I was informed all sold out...
Many different ways to have your donut craving fulfilled! My favorite was their blueberry cake donut! 🍩😍
These are some of the best donuts!! I usually dislike cake donuts, but theirs are amazing (love the blueberry and carrot cake). They also have so many fun flavors of different style donuts. This is definitely a place worth visiting. Very yummy! One of the major draw backs is that there is often a line. I would recommend pre-ordering online a couple days in advanced so you can skip the line. If you aren’t pre-ordering, then I’d recommend going earlier in the day so they don’t run out of the type of donuts you want. Another draw back is that they do these awesome special donuts, but you can’t pre-order them. You have to get them by waiting in line at a specific time.
Have traveled from NY for these donuts, theyre that amazing. They get busy but thats because they make delicious delicious donuts. So fresh and creative. Great Vibes too.
Fresh fluffy fun for the family. Worth every minute in line to snag a donut that is sure to please everyones sweet tooth. Wherefore youre a brioche boy or a gluten free gal these doughs are sure to please. Wash them down with a fresh, hot coffee. Follow them on Instagram for their test flavors. Get their early or order ahead. Youll be glad you did.
Pick up ordering available in advance on their website and available for 8am sharp next day. They send confirmation of your order promptly and their Menu of donuts is spectacular!!! I love the maple bacon and the dunkaroo is unbelievable !!!
I’m simple so I have only tried Vanilla Sprinkles, Cinnamon Monkey Bread, Vanilla Sprinkle Donut Holes and Coffee Milk. All were exceptional. Only place I can think of comparing PVDonuts to would be Allies Donuts in NK. And Allies being a RI staple could never touch what PVD is doing. Allies has a HUGE selection and a bigger operation but I look for the places like PVD. Hands down best donuts I have ever had. The doughs they use are always moist and perfect to bite into! Only think I have found it the frosting will fall off in large flakes when you bite I to the donut. Leaving you “tweezing” the frosting off the plate with your finger tips haha. If your near a microwave throw it in for 8-10 seconds it should soften the frosting up enough for it not to Happen. The donuts Holes you won’t have that problem with because you should be shoving that hole thing directly into your mouth and drowning it with Milk 😂😂.Pros:-Outdoor seating in nice weather-Reasonably Priced-This place is One of a kind!-Offers an assortment of drinks-COFFEE-Great selection (BUT GET THERE EARLY!)-Call to Order! Not sure what the minimum is.-Location is directly off 195Cons:-Not a lot of indoor seating when is, slightly crowded.-Donuts go QUICK. By 1-2pm the selection is small.-Not many “Simple” donuts. Like chocolate frosted with sprinkles, strawberry frosted with sprinkles. I’d love to see them come up with a blueberry glazed with vanilla frosting and cinnamon sprinkled on frosting🤤.-And honestly some of the staff at register can be impatient and rude. This is when there is nobody behind me in line. What I think is this place is Amazing! Hopefully they branch out! Maybe a place Northern RI and Southern RI. They need to be able to have more on demand though! Maybe a bigger kitchen somewhere else? Because I Love the location. Get some Tacos then head over and get a donut haha. But I love this place and can’t recommend another place over them for what they offer!
Great customer service and great product! I look forward to ordering donuts off the new menu every month for a “taste test”. I’ve never been disappointed ordering from PVDonuts and look forward to future collabs and creations!
Creative, delicious & beautiful donuts! Not to miss if you’re a donut lover!
Donuts are fantastic. Unlike any donut youve had before and definitely worth the price. My previous review stated that the incredibly long lines made it next to impossible to get near the place. After monitoring the busy status on google maps there are actually some times where you can hop in line with only about 10 or so people in front of you so you only end up waiting 15-20 minutes. Its definitely worth that wait. I still wouldnt wait in the crazy long line for an hour by myself, but if you bring a friend you can manage to stay entertained for the time and then get to enjoy it. Getting there for when they open and waiting a bit in line is the best way to be able to get in and be able to pick from any donut on the menu. Later in the day when the line may be smaller, the selection may be as well.If youre looking for something to do and an amazing start to your day hop in line with your best friend or SO and get some donuts and a nitro cold brew!
Flew up here from Charlotte to enjoy the weekend. Most of the state doesn’t require mask so we left it at the hotel and went out to breakfast and what not and heard to go here. Checked the website and no mention of mask. Went to preorder and website wouldn’t let you. Showed up this morning and was told no mask no service. Left without donuts. Pathetic service, like no mention of anything they require until you show up. Thankfully we were not the only couple turned away for no mask. Numerous people left after us too once I realized the mask requirements. TLDR: requires mask, website won’t let you preorder, no mention of mask on website.owner decided to chime in below with links not from their website like I explained. went down the street for other donuts and coffee. no mask required at those places. imagine having to go to google and instagram to get news about your business. You are blaming the customer for this, im glad I didnt support your business and hope I inspire others to refrain from visiting.
Totally worth the wait. I’ve never been here when there wasn’t a line(or near winter) I don’t know when the line starts but you should get there early because not only will you get your donuts faster but you’ll have a better chance at getting a donut since they do run out. GREAT donuts and they serve coffee. They’re many to chose from and you can order a box.
Such awesome donuts and great customer service. You cant go wrong with anything in the menu!
Really, really good doughnuts. Gotta get there early as the more popular choices get sold out early. Long line in the morning
