I found a new favorite Bookstore in Provo tonight on Center street! Such an amazing store, so many books! I can’t wait to go back & buy more!

Pioneer Book is one of the best independent bookstores in the West. They really support the local writers.

This bookstore is a gem. The cute counter at the entry is even surrounded by book walls. All ages ought to be able to find books they love here. Even better, I learned that they update their online inventory every 20-30 minutes. Ill be coming back for sure, and might even browse the inventory online ahead of time.*Book donations are accepted too.*

This is my all time favorite bookstore. Ive been going for years and steadily collected a fantastic collection of all sorts of books from here. The best part about pioneer book is going without knowing what youre going to get. Almost every time I find something that I didnt even know I was looking for. Some of my favorite books have been random ones Ive purchased from here! If you know be books or cute little shops in downtown Provo or just browsing through interesting things then you must go here!Btw they gave the most amazing book desk of all time!

This is an amazing hometown bookstore! The business model is perfect and the selection of books is outstanding. I love clearing out my own bookshelves and getting store credit so I can read new things. I love that they also carry books which have been out of print for some time.

I love this bookstore! staff are very helpful and friendly, they have a great selection at fair prices. if they dont have what you are looking for, they can add you to a text list to get notified when it is in stock (or you can order it through bookshop.org and still support them).

A great place to get used books. Their prices are good and the staff is friendly and helpful. Ive been going here since I was a kid and knew the original owner. You can still feel good appreciation for books in the ambiance of the shop. Its well decorated and had that awesome book smell.

Its got that perfect independent bookstore atmosphere. The selection is always good and the staff are helpful and do know about their catalog most of the time. These are readers! They also have an amazing collection of collectible and vintage. Love going in here when I can.

This is basically my favorite place ever. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Atmosphere is 10/10. Their selection is great, they almost always have what I’m looking for, and if not, they make being on a waitlist SO easy. I recommend this place to ALL my friends.

Pioneer Book is a lovely shop that I have gone to write in off and on for years. The staff is always friendly and the shop is very well organized and is very tidy. The selection is constantly changing as you never know what is going to come available. That said, they do offer a rewards program and give you the ability to flag titles you are looking and put them on hold. I will always recommend them.

My wife and I come here every couple months to browse the cycling inventory and enjoy it every time, picking up ones that weve heard about, filling in a series, buying for a friend, or just picking up a book that looks interesting.Rewards program is nice too.

I love this place, it is fairly priced, they have a great rewards and birthday program! This bookstore it very organized which makes finding books Im looking for very easy and if they dont have it they will give you a notification when they do get it in. The staff is very friendly.Just so people who have never been here know they have 2 floors, non-fiction and kids are on the 1st floor and fiction and YA are on level 2.

Their classics section is huge and includes some books back to the late 1800s. Great for vintage book collectors. I found a copy of King Solomons Mines which I couldnt find at my local Barnes and Noble, I was very pleased about that.

This place is incredible. Their rewards program gives you $10 coupon for every $50 spent, and they have lots of rare books and out of print books. The books are fairly priced and they have whole sets for sale. They also buy books for store credit. We will definitely be returning. I can see this place becoming a great way to kill a Saturday afternoon.

Great place to walk around and see if you find a book you like. They offer great promotional deals but their books are going to cost you more than a thrift store, but less than Barnes n Noble, just be prepared. Glad this place exists!

This is a fantastic little shop! I am positive that if I lived in Provo this place would be like a second home to me! I love books stores and ones like this with great selections and older books make me feel at home! I think I would have really enjoyed being a librarian if I was actually good at managing books! Mostly I love to read books and this place was great and the young lady that was working the day I was there was really kind and we had a nice chat about the area and she gave me some recommendations on places to eat nearby and other places to shop. Not only that but she showed a genuine interest in me and my travels! If I am ever back in Provo I will be back to Pioneer book and if you ever find yourself in the area you should stop by!

Cutest bookstore. You may not find the popular novel you’re searching for, but you’ll definitely come away with a hidden gem of a read you didn’t know you needed. Cute and cozy atmosphere, delightful selection, wonderful experience.

Extremely rude shop owner. I asked him if he worked there, and he stared at me. I started trying to ask if he had any of a specific subject matter of older reference and he cut me off and kept walking.I talked to the other staff to find out he is the shop owner. These other positive comments are most likely fake, almost certainly. I will NEVER EVER buy a book from here!!!

I adore this place. Easily the most organized used bookstore I’ve ever been too. Browsing their shelves is one of my favorite things to do. I’ve found so many hidden gems and beautiful books there. Staff is kind and helpful and always friendly. Pioneer Book is a treasure.

This is a great place, but it needs to be said and heard that the books here are donated. I could be wrong and will edit my review if so.What this means is that there is a limited selection on books here. You cant find everything you exactly need. That being said, they have a very large and vast selection on books already, and everything is well organized. Its not hard to find something youre looking for.The staff has been helpful and kind each time Ive gone. Theyve also implemented a good system to keep track of guests visiting the store to keep from over crowding.Not the perfect bookstore, but also nothing wrong with it, and its rather quite charming. Worth a visit.

Had a wonderful experience at Pioneer Book. Well organized and clean, with a great bookstore charm. The employees were so kind to my young daughter and made her feel special. Pioneer Book is a model for what used book stores should be. They have a good variety without diluting the quality of the selection. Their pricing is really reasonable, especially considering the quality of books youll find. While I was there, several friendly staff members ask if I needed help. The isles are wide and the store is clean. They have several nice leather armchairs and an area for children. In short, you could spend a day here. Incidentally they have a huge selection of LDS literature if youre looking for that, including rare, signed, and out of print works. This is certainly the best used book store in the county and possibly in the state.

It’s been several years since I’ve visited Pioneer Book and it will take a century or more before I go back. The book selection is sad at best. If you’re looking for a stripped down version of Sam Weller with an illiterate staff, Pioneer is the place for you. If you need a bookstore fix, in Utah County, go visit Donnie Morris at Confetti in Spanish Fork. You’ll find someone who’s read more than a meme or Tweet to get info and find books worth purchasing. The used books were in worse condition and 20% more than Benchmark Books in Salt Lake City.This all being said, if you’re a cliche who is in your late 50s, just got an arm sleeve tattoo, tried yoga twice, then you’ll feel right at home at Pioneer. I counted 4 of those wondering Eastern Religoin section. The only section with customers.

Ive been here once before and never knew there was a second floor! I loved the second floor. Lots of books in great condition at very good prices. Ill probably be going back soon!

Well organized, has a good bookstore vibe. Isnt dusty or musty like other used bookstores Ive visited. Paperbacks in junior fiction were generally $4.95 which seems like a fair price to me. Would definitely recommend!!

Ive bought here before and recently donated some books. Super people there and the store has changed. Its all lit, beautiful shelves, tastefully decorated.

Super cute shop with tons of selection. They are very helpful. They also offer a reading challenge which is a blast. If you read 40 books of different categories in a year, you get $50 in store credit. Overall just an awesome shop.

Has an amazing selection of a variety of genres of books. Classy, vintage atmosphere with a great ambience and music choices by the employees. This place is amazing. They have a phenomenal selection of used books and their layout is so cool. They have made bookkeeping and selling an art. (The Christmas tree made from books each year is beautiful and pay attention to the font desk, check out how it is supported!) When I go in, I don’t want to leave. The staff is so friendly, it is super inviting, and the selection is outstanding. (Don’t mis the upstairs portion.) Plus, their prices are great. I’ve been going to this place for over 20 years and Scott, the newest owner, has really stepped it up. Go and give them your money, they deserve it. If more places were as invested in their trade as the peeps at Pioneer Book, the world would be a better place. Go here, buy a book, get smarter, and support local business. GO NOW!

Very disrespectful! have been long time customers but we asked a question and they said “we can hear just fine with a mask on”. For a bookstore that sells LDS literature, they are not kind and very rude.

This book store is one of my favorites!!!I have spent loads here. They always have a fantastic selection and it is all very well organized. The workers are incredibly friendly, helpful, and patient. A few of them even remembered my name with me not even remembering I gave it which shocked me but was awesome. They have really great sales all of the time and their customer rewards program is way cool giving you a $10 coupon for every $50 spent which I get a lot and take full advantage of. :) You can even stack them up and use multiple if you have them on the same purchase. I’ve had free purchases because of them before! My only complaint is that they aren’t open later and for longer hours so I can have more time there when I go. All in all this is a great bookstore and a MUST visit. Go check it out and don’t be afraid to ask the workers any questions! 😁

They have a good selection of books. We had a stroller and couldnt find a good way to get to the second floor without climbing the stairs with the stroller.Friendly atmosphere and if youre willing to spend time looking you might find a good book to read.

I love this place! It’s the perfect comfortable spot and setup for a book store. Everything is organized by category and there’s an upstairs! If the used book you want isn’t in their collection you can get added to a text list and they’ll message you when it comes in! I’ve done this twice and gotten the books I wanted at a great price! The best bookstore in Utah! Great staff, clean store, awesome prices, and wonderful staff. The selection of history books is wonderful, ranging from president’s memoirs to Irish history to the history of libraries. I have bought many gift books here (including a book of a zombie Haiku, philosophy books from both east and west traditions, and several classics). Go and get lost in the aisles!

Pioneer Book is my favorite place in Provo. I cant help myself but walk out with at least 3 new books every time. The employees are quick to ask what Im interested in and recommend books and also help me find books Im looking for. Ive spent some afternoons reading in the corner because Im mesmerized by the possibilities of being surrounded by so many books. Pioneer Book is quaint. Its quiet. Its magical.

Adorable book store. The employees are so helpful and kind when giving help or book recommendations. The books are sold for very reasonable prices and they have an enormous selection. A great place to visit if you want to find your new favorite book!I also highly recommend the poetry gumball machine upstairs. For a single quarter you get a poem written by a local post.

Probably the greatest part of Provo. Whatever genres you enjoy, there will be a book for you. The books are all in excellent condition and listed at great prices. The employees offer great customer service. There are frequent sales and promotiond, even for your birthday.
