James was amazing. Macbook stuck in a reboot loop and he ran hardware diagnostics over the phone with me then worked with me in person for the better part of two hours until we finally got it. Saved my critical files

Customer service was great, they’re kind guys... However, I ended up paying ~$250.00 bucks to repair an old laptop screen, I should’ve just bought a nice monitor haha. You leave a down payment of around 50 bucks while they “search up a good replacement” and than pay the rest when they’re done working on your PC. My laptop was returned with screws and screw covers missing, the new screen is dim and not fitted correctly, also didn’t have the right drivers. I fixed these things myself, and didn’t even want to take my laptop back in to have them replace the missing screws. I’d just look somewhere else frankly.

So I had to pay an extra $99 for the phone being repaired and what they didn’t tell me was the phone is shattered more than it already was. Then when I picked it up it wasn’t even repaired at all. So I highly suggest no going through the cougar store. If you want the same thing to happen to your device. Bummer, I really trusted that these guys had fixed my phone by now. I had to wait a month for it to be fixed.

One place, just to run the diagnose would cost $50 and it would be ready in 3 days or $80 to have it done within 24 hours. Another place charged $100 (just for diagnose). Finally cougar tech had good reviews so I brought it there. $50 for the diagnose and they would do ASAP. I took their word. Nathan called me next day morning and tells me is ready for pick up, no extra charges. They fixed it.They won’t charge extra for non exiting issues. You can trust their price and diagnose. Good job.

I asked them if they could help me open up my laptop and do some dusting and they told me that theyd charge me $50 for it. Its a total rip off.

I was having frustrating problems with the screen on my iPhone 11. Certain keys weren’t working and some apps wouldn’t open. I took it to CougarTech Repair, and Derryck was fantastic in helping me get the issues resolved same day. He was resourceful, patient, and consumer-oriented. It was a very positive experience. I’ll go back there for sure if I have future problems. The whole staff seemed great!

The service was fast and friendly. If youre not familiar with BYU Campus, there is free visitor parking across the road from the wilkinson. Had to ask for directions once in there, but was able to find it.

My phone wouldnt charge and died in the middle of an update, I was really concerned about if it would be functional even if it could charge since the update was stopped right in the middle, and CougarTech was so helpful! They cleaned out my charge port and charged it long enough for it to finish updating and my phone works great now! And they didnt charge me since it was just a charging port cleaning which was great customer service!

I had the absolute BEST experience! They were so helpful and patient! WARNER IS THE KING!!! If you go, make sure you ask for Warner, because he is hands down the best. I would trust the Cougar Tech with any of my tech needs. They are so knowledgeable and kind! 100/10 experience.

They tried their best to fix my laptop under warranty, and when they couldn’t they were so helpful!

I went in wondering if I had to pay for my corrupt system and left having paid for their corrupt system!The staff are great. They are friendly and capable. However! The data transfer and recovery pricing is archaic and honestly ludicrous.They backed up my data (a drag and drop procedure) and then held it hostage. To get that data put back onto my fixed drive I had to pay $50 for 15 gigabytes! I asked who I could talk to in order to try negotiating the price (very uncharacteristic of me) and was told that they dont know why the prices are the way they are and in their mind it is very unfair.There is some serious injustice going on at Cougartech repair and I feel very uncomfortable because of the way they take advantage of their customers. This place has potential but they SERIOUSLY need to update their data transfer policies. I cant imagine how I would feel if I had lost a terabyte of data (a common hard drive size) and ended up paying over a thousand dollars just for them to drag and drop.

I was pleasantly surprised when I brought my laptop in to get a 2nd opinion, after Best Buy told me I needed to get a new one. They were quick, transparent, and so much more helpful than Best Buy Geek Squad. I just paid a $50 diagnostic fee and when I came back 2 days later they had fixed it, with no extra charge. Good as new! And I was convinced I was going to have to spend SO much more! #blessed

My macs keyboard completely stopped working and I brought it to CougarTech. After about a week they gave me a quote for almost 500 dollars to order and replace the parts which threw me off. However, they then called me a few days later to let me know they had searched through Apples published warranty policy to make my case and were able to get the parts under warranty, making my entire repair completely free. Theyve been super helpful and communicative throughout the whole process, not to mention saving me 500 dollars!

If you want your electronics fixed quickly they are slow right now. They also failed to tell me beforehand that they would charge a diagnostic fee, which wouldve lead me to not have them check out my laptop because the problem wasnt worth the 50 bucks I had to pay for them to not be able to fix it.

Justin at CougarTech was super friendly and helpful. We went in with a time sensitive issue and he was able to resolve it in just a few minutes. It was the easiest and cheapest repair experience we’ve ever had. Thank you!

The staff at Cougar Tech were really helpful and willing to work with me. They were friendly, courteous, and very accommodating, even though I came in right before the store was about to close. They cleaned out my phone port for free in a matter of minutes, and now it is working great! They also helped me find a charger for my phone that wont break as easily as the normal Apple iPhone chargers. I would highly recommend them.

Ben was amazing! Actually, everyone who has worked there has been wonderful. I almost dont want to write a good review because I want to keep their amazing services secret, but the word has to go out. They are phenomenal for retrieving data -- in fact, I let the techies know in my district, so everyone in my district is going to come here-- and everything else. I am so grateful for them. A virus had worked its way onto a 16GB SD card that I would use for pictures on my mission in Ethiopia, and when I put it into my camera, my camera said that there were NO PICTURES left on the card. I saved it, and didnt touch it for months after I got back from my mission, but just brought it in to Cougar Tech, and Warner was able to help me out! He took my card, looked at it, cleared off the virus, and SAVED ALL MY PICTURES within maybe 10 minutes! Turns out the virus had put ALL of my pictures into a hidden folder, which is why I couldnt find them. As far as this little issue goes, it was huge for me and Im happy. Warner is the man. :)

Brought in my laptop that wouldn’t turn on, had no idea what was the problem or how to fix it. Other tech repairs said they would charge me $50 just to run diagnostics and even then they couldn’t guarantee that they’d be able to fix it. Cougar tech checked it out and fixed in in less than 15 min. Phenomenal service!!

I came in because one of the keys on my laptop wasnt working. The guy at the front desk was really nice and took the time to do some diagnostic work on the laptop before having me leave it with them. He was able to determine what the issue was and said that they would look into getting a new part for my laptop. I heard back from them in a couple hours and they gave me detailed solutions to the problem. I decided to not have Cougar Tech work on my laptop but their service was great and they didnt charge me for the diagnostics. I would definitely take my computer in again if it needed repair.

The staff is very friendly and patient. There is a diagnostic fee of $50 (quite expensive) if they crack open your iphone (not sure if its the same for computers). However, they can check for surface level issues for free including a 5 minute automatic diagnostic check. Make sure you specify which check you want!

Id give them 10 stars if I could. My laptop suddenly died on Sunday night and I took it in to Simply Mac first thing Monday morning. They told me Id have to wait 10 business days to hear back about the diagnosis and THEN they would order necessary parts and THEN they would fix it. I was going to have to start over on so many projects and papers to turn them in by deadlines before Id get my laptop and data back! And it was going to cost me a lot- which is scary as a student. A friend recommended I bring it in to CougarTech- I didnt even realize the BYU Store had a department that fixed computers so I took it back from Simply Mac a few hours later and brought it in. They helped me immediately and answered all my questions, letting me know Id only have to wait a few days to hear back. Well, they called me the NEXT day to tell me what was wrong and let me know they had ordered the part and theyd get back to me in a few days. The NEXT day they called to tell me it was done!! I couldnt believe it! And the best part was that it was under warranty so even though I would have paid significantly less at CougarTech anyway, I didnt have to pay a dime. They saved me SO MUCH TIME AND STRESS and I would 10/10 recommend them.

My phone had broken down completely, I couldn’t get it to update or restore, and neither could the apple store guys at Fashion Place.I had been working with the BYU Tech guys through out this whole adventure, and when I had zero hope of getting my phone to work again they were able to work some magic and bring it back to life!I can’t say enough awesome things about BYU Tech!!! They were so helpful, and so optimistic, and eventually where the only ones who were able to fix my phone.Thank you again!

Excellent, professional service! My daughters iphone was stuck in a boot loop. I brought it to Cougar Tech Repair to be diagnosed. They were able to test it and work with Apple to determine that it needed to be sent back for repair/replacement. They provided a loaner phone and a week later Apple sent back a replacement phone. Very quick and efficient service. Thank you!

I was having problems charging my iPhone and decided to see if they could help me out at the Cougar Tech Repair. Turns out all my phone needed was a quick cleaning. Tom helped me out and he was super friendly and quick. I was in and out in less than five minutes and the service was free of charge. I highly recommend this place.

Unfortunately, I have needed to call request help from CourgarTech Repair two times now for help with laptop problems. On both occasions, the individuals who came out to help me were very kind and helpful. More recently, I needed computer help a couple weeks before the semester started. The workers warned me that they would be especially busy and that it might take a while for them to get to my computer. Within two or three days they had checked out my computer, resolved the issue for me, and contacted me to pick it up.There is a $50 diagnostics charge you will have to pay to have them check your computer. If its a quick fix and they dont have to buy expensive parts, thats all youll have to pay. If they have to buy a new screen, new drives, or a motherboard for your computer, they will waive the diagnostics fee and you will just pay for repairs.

Update: review changed to 5 stars. They didn’t give up. 5/5 is now well deserved for addressing the problems and providing great service. Shout out to cougar tech.They tried.Computer wouldn’t boot. Took it in, and Cougar Tech said it was a motherboard issue so I bought a new motherboard from them and had it installed. Took the computer home, still dosnt boot. Decided to take it back, they ran more tests and they decided ultimately “We don’t know what’s wrong”.They took time to try things so I guess that’s worth 2 stars.

My sons iPhone SE charging port started being super glitchy to the point that the phone was barely functional, and we were sure it needed to be repaired or replaced. My son took it to CougarTech Repair between classes this afternoon to get an estimate... and it turned out the port only needed to be cleaned, which they knew how to do. (We would have been afraid we would mess up something sensitive.) Bryce cleaned it for him quickly, and didnt even charge him. He just saved us the cost of a repair or new phone. Were super grateful and will come to Cougar Tech first if we have any future repair needs!

Would not recommend.They took three weeks to get my laptop back to me, told me they worked on it for 45 minutes and couldnt find the problem. Sent it home with me, and it crashed again.Took it back. Again, they did not fix anything. There seems to be one guy there who knows his stuff, but they have so much inventory that you will be lucky if he ever sees it. Instead theres a bunch of college kids who arent experienced whatsoever who are trying the things that I find on Google, for free. They charge a $45 fee just to look at your computer (even if they dont fix anything).There are better options in Provo for cheaper and with more trained and timely professionals. Dont go here just because you are a student and its convenient. There are cheaper and far more convenient options.(I recommend Mark who owns CareWare Computer Care. He charged only $20 for diagnostics which went toward the fix. Had it fixed by the next morning. Oh, and he will come to you.)

Just got my iPhone battery replaced there and it was painless. Good service, good people, and fair pricing. Id recommend them to anyone!

CougarTech saved my skin this week! My laptop fell out of the car and the frame bent in such a way that the power button was stuck pressed in. Me and some friends tried several things to make it work (BIOS, power settings, etc.) and none of the solutions lasted for more than a few uses. I took it to CougarTech, and in 5 minutes they bent the frame back in place, and you can barely tell there was damage in the first place. Theyre fast, have great service, and are super helpful :)

These guys were awesome! Super nice and they got my computer done in about 24 hours which was great! And it works well now :)

They give bad time estimates. “We’ll call in a couple days” turned into a week and a half. “You should hear back by the end of the day” turned into another whole week. “It’ll be ready in no more than an hour” turned into almost 3 hours. Customer service is very helpful and professional, and pricing give good student discounts, but it’s super frustrating to be given a time schedule that is never met.

This was AMAZING!!!! I had a harddrive that failed (power port or power supply) and within an hour they had it placed in a new enclosure and working again. They texted me immediately upon completion. The simple, expedited fee worked and I got it returned quickly despite them being very busy. Would HANDS DOWN come here again.

Cougar Tech was quick to provide me service and very friendly. The technician explained to me everything he did on my laptop and, because the issue was fixed over the counter, it was free of charge!

Used them a couple times, each time it takes way longer than it should. Last time had them replace a hinge in my laptop (it broke the system fan or I wouldve left it), and they spilled some adhesive on the keyboard, leaving little bumps, and also messed up the mouse buttons.I took it back in to get the mouse buttons fixed and they halfway fixed it.. basically just go somewhere else. Overpriced, slow, and sloppy.

They are certified by apple and they are very helpful. They helped me send in my iPad to apple and it was done very promptly. Although apple took longer than expected to return the iPad, they answered my questions when I called and kept me up to date about the state of the iPad. They also called me immediately the iPad arrived. Generally, Id say theyre professional. I havent repaired anything else with them but my friends always have positive things to say. Id definitely go back again if I need to.
