I feel duped. I had a squeaky subfloor and old carpet. I told Will repeatedly that the sub floor was my main concern and he assured me that the new carpet would help or keep it at same level but was worth a shot. Well, the carpet is installed and the squeaks and floor are somehow worse than before! Squeaky and uneven in places. Called will to complain and he said that he never said it would help and that it can sometimes get worse…a fact he never mentioned. Now I’m out $4k with a squeakier subfloor and a carpet I don’t need. Do not go here . Ever .
Be aware of smooth talking Will--installer cut corners on the carpet --wanted to charge me an extra trip feeWill accepted no resposibility for the lack of job done correctlydo not not go there--do not purchase--be careful of great ...Will
Will did a great job at helping us find the carpet we wanted for our first home. He even went the extra mile to get me a vinyl checkerboard floor for my race room which I am very pleased with! He is a straight shooter and doesnt beat around the bush. Support local espically in times like these and go ask for my guy Will! I will make sure to also send all of my friends there! Thanks again floors-a-lot
Friendly staff good prices and warehouse full of flooring to choose from
Great experience and great value from beginning to end felt like you were dealing with family, they go the extra mile. Installers were professional, on time and did an excellent job. I did a lot of shopping before I selected Floors a lot, I had a large area of water proof laminate installed and they know a lot about what they sell and truly seemed to want my business
Shout out to Floors A lot for doing such a fantastic job! Service was absolutely amazing and they did an great job on our floor. Staff was very friendly. I would definitely recommend this store to all my family and friends for their flooring needs!
BUYER BEWARE. NOT ONLY IS THE WORKMANSHIP POOR, YOU CANNOT TRUST THEY WILL INSTALL WHAT THEY SAY! I will post pics later. I am still working with Will to hopefully get my install done properly, and get what i ordered. I will update this review if they fix their mistakes. We recently bought a house and the previous installer we used wasnt available to to the install this month so we decided to go to Floors-A-Lot. Their products are the fine, exactly what we would get at any other store but we also had them install the carpet. HUGE MISTAKE! We had them do stairs, a small hallway and 3 bedrooms.Overall the carpet is loose, not sure if the installer didnt use a stretcher or doesnt know how to use one. And every seam is extremely obvious. On the stairs, each step was a different piece of carpet with a VISIBLE SEAM at the base of each riser. one tread width was cut about 1/2 short and a chunk of carpet was wedged into the gap. Some of the pads are cut almost 2 short of the edge of the step. some of the steps have enough loose carpet around the tread you can pinch the carpet in front of the step.In the master bedroom we had remodeled the closet and moved a wall, the tack strip was left where it laid and pad and carpet were laid on top. In one corner there was about 1 inch of extra carpet against the wall. Another corner had a tack strip that wasnt nailed down, another corner was cut an inch short with a small piece wedged in against the wall. in the closet there was a corner that didnt even have a tack strip and the carpet was about 1 inch too wide.In the other bedrooms: there is extra carpet against the walls, the carpet comes loose from the tack strip, there is dirt and construction debris under and around the pad. the carpet is raised in the doorways and it moves when you push or step on it.The worst part of this entire experience is the pad. we went and felt the pads and pick a 10# pad, but after reading other reviews of Floors-A-Lot, I was suspicious so i went down and asked for a 10# pad sample to compare, since they left so much pad showing in my house. there is no way what was installed was 10# pad.I went down to the store to make a plan to reconcile these issues but the installer wont be able to do it until next week because he has other houses to do. BUT HE HASNT FINISHED HIS INSTALL FROM 3 DAYS AGO! I guess since they already cashed my check im not a priority.I dont have lot of hope for my carpet to be done correctly and think I have just wasted my money because I will have to get someone else to come in and fix it. What i really want is my money back, I would even remove and return this carpet myself if it meant I could get a full refund.
They did not install the pad that was in our contract. They used the wrong tack strips. They didnt nail down the track strips, they didnt cut pieces evenly and would stuff carpet into the gouges to try and hide it, they didnt stretch the carpet, the stairs were done all wrong, it looked terrible and felt terrible- like the pad didnt go to the edge of the stair, the carpet didnt reach the wall. When we tried to work it out with the company they refused to admit they did anything wrong, instead they told us we should be grateful we have such nice carpet. We reminded them we paid for the nice carpet and we wanted it installed correctly. It was a fiasco, the refunded us the labor on the stairs, and the cheapest version of their pad. We are stuck with the cheap pad under the carpet. We called a different installer, he came out, we didnt even have to tell him what went wrong, he saw even more than we did and couldnt believe they are still in business. He in one afternoon made it so we could at least move into our bedrooms. He had to reorder more carpet for the stairs to redo them completely pad and all. Floorsalot was an awful company to work with and their end product is shameful and their business practice seems very crooked and shady (like we didnt get the pad written in the contract, and they were upset that we lifted the carpet to verify-granted them not tacking the carpet down made this very easy to do....but they were caught, they didnt do what the contact said-which is the only reason why I think that we got a little of a refund. So disappointing! To respond to their response... all we were offered was the difference between the pad we paid for and the pad that they installed. They had the same installer come in and only repaired one area which he still did incorrectly. We hired an independent contractor to come in and install the correct tack strips and stretch the carpet + completely redo the stairs.
Drive past the big box stores and check these guys out. Great service and nice people. Prices were very comparable to the National chains.
I really lucked out on finding Floors A Lot in Puyallup, WA... Great service, Great people like Will and his office staff. All were very knowledgeable and easy to work with, not to mention great pricing. I was very satisfied with the carpet and new kitchen floor work. Joe one of the carpet installers went out of his to make sure the job was done right. Highly recommended!
Extremely helpful even though they knew I wouldnt be making a purchase with them. Excellent stock. In the future when I do need flooring I will be purchasing from them.
We bought a floor a while ago for our house from floors a lot so when we took over a hair salon we decided to use them again ! They were helpful and friendly picking out floors but we had never used them for installation boy was that a mistake ! They suggested this water proof scratch resistant vinal beautiful floor ! The first small room turned out great then they went to the huge waiting room and the seems r all crooked and noticeable and they didnt seal most of them there r gouges cut out of the corners of the door ways and cuts its already starting to curl up ! Then they didnt finish the trim and when they were only half way done they charged my credit card double what the estimate was without consulting with me when I was told half down and the rest when finished ! Then the sweet sister of the owner Will was so rude about the complaints and concerns we have ! NEVER GO TO FLOORS A LOT! You will get raped! They could at least of worn a mask! Ugh!!!!
Floors a Lot has a new owner and all is lookin up. We had a bad experience with a big Box Store and went to our local Floors a Lot. They were timely, had great products and and a great installation. We are very happy with the vinyl floor the installed.
On first day of install I heard nothing from the store and installer showed up around 10. (A lot later than I had expected) Got tack strips and padding done and went to get carpet cut. Installer measured the floor and said hed be back in an hour or 2. (That was about 1)Around 4 when I hadnt heard anything, I called the store. Turns out that the Home Depot measurement I provided wasnt sufficient. And when the estimator came out he didnt take even one measurement. The issue was they were going to need more carpet than initially thought. And I was going to have to pay for it because in the wording of what I signed, I owed more. So I was going to have to pay not quite $200 more because the estimator didnt actually do his job and take measurements. Finally the installer came and did one room, because he said he would. (Keeping in mind there was one guy doing the work, for about 1000 sq. Ft.)The next day we had talked about arriving at 8. He finally showed up after 10 and had gotten to an accident. I was sorry to hear but why didnt anyone call me and tell me he was going to be late? The job got done. Ill end up paying a little less than Home Depot for probably nicer carpet. They could also get me in the schedule faster than Home Depot. It ended up costing me more than estimate because of their oversight and one person installing took awhile. We had gone here because a friend had them put in carpet in 2 of their houses without issues. The only reason why they got 2 stars was because the installer did a good job and it got done (eventually).Oh and the leftover scraps of carpet & padding have been sitting at the top of our driveway for almost 5 days waiting for someone to come get it.Bottom Line: I wont go back and I dont recommend them.
I recieved good service went out of their way just to find me a trim piece that was discontinued and by gollie they found one thanks
Wanted a local business to install carpet in my condo on South Hill Puyallup. Stopped here. Im really bad at names, but the lady who initially helped me was awesome. She helped me find 2 that were the right price and color. The guy who measured was right on time. When I came in to make the final choice, the main guy was also very helpful. I was on a pretty tight timeline, and was assured that it would be installed before my new tenants were scheduled to move in. When install day arrived, found out that they forgot to add the master closet in the total square footage ordered. Oops. They were in constant phone contact with me and found a remnant that was very very close to the carpet I had ordered. When installed, you could barely tell the difference. All in all, despite that one snafu, I was very satisfied with this company.
I would never do business this company. If you can run away. I purchased close 6000.00 worth of high end carpet from these guys. They day they installed the carpet his crew destroyed the carpet so bad that the piece that I had ordered for an area rug was used to replace the bad piece that they cut all to hell. After several conversation and months they agreed to order another piece of carpet to repair the for the fourth time the area that they originally screwed up. they then ordered another piece and it was flawed, they then order another piece and the texture and color are different . So here i get to walk upstairs and look at a mismatched carpet with the worst seems that I have ever seen on an install. RUN AWAY THIS COMPANY IS THE WORST
Its been about two years since our install and the carpet is bulging near the walls and seams. I called to ask them to correct the issue and they said their service is out of warranty, meaning they wont stand behind their work. Very disappointed with their service.
Wanted to support a small business- but this place is a COMPLETE NIGHTMARE- had carpet installed in 2010... Saw all the seams from day one (they told me there was nothing they could do about them...)- they also left all the old carpet and padding in my driveway- even though we agreed theyd dispose of it. About 6 months later- carpet was being pulled from the tack strip so I called a new company in to fix it- he told me my carpet padding (I paid extra for 10#) was actually 6# at best- maybe lower... He tore me out a piece of padding and I took it to 3 different carpet places- all techs said it was between 4-6# padding.Called Will (owner)- after some fighting and threatening to sue- he had his guy come out- pull up all the carpet- and put down new padding... Still awful... Still see all of the seams... Ive had to have it re-stretched twice in a couple years... (Floors a lot told me thats normal- except the carpet in my family room has been there since the house was built in 1997 without a single seam/bump). Both techs Ive hired to come out and re-stretch it have told me theyve had to fix many carpets floors-a-lot did. I probably can only make this carpet last another year... (6-7 year lifespan??)Do with this what you will- but it makes my stomach turn walking upstairs to the carpet they laid... Couple thousand dollars of wasted money :((Posting today because I just spent a few more hundred dollars today to have it restretched- again...)
Great price, installer did a beautiful and amazing job.
I needed to get a condo on the market asap. Great price, fast service!
The older guy talked too much and didnt listen to my needs. I walked away and went to another flooring store.
Great place friendly people
Good help and very professional
Great service
We had our carpets done about 9 months ago and I really just did not like the quality of service for the cost. The more I look at the job the worse I feel about what we paid. Shop around before signing anything.
