I had asked for a spiral perm do to the length. I asked for my hair to be cut AFTER the perm so I dont have fish hooks at the bottom. I told her what rods to use and to altenate to reinforce the curl and use grey an white for the bangs. U see Im a hairstylist by trade for 20yrs and I have natural curly hair but, no body near roots. She said she was the master designer. The next day I had chemical burns on back of neck, breakage due to perm. My hair was all one length in great condition and all virgin.( no chemicals)) Im not a happy camper. I told them about the 24hr patch test. When younger I never had a reaction from perm solution. Obviously I needed a test patch. I was told they cant patch test everyone. Thats B.S. They can sue the salon for neglecting the patch test. ITS A MUST DO WITH CHEMICALS.
I ordered something online and unfortunately it didn’t fit so I had to return it to this store. I went to the first register I saw near the mall entrance and an older lady folding clothes took a minute to even notice me. When she finally turned around, no customer service whatsoever… she didn’t even bother asking if I’ve been helped or say hi and she had her mask pulled down to the point that her nose was out! I had to tell her I wanted to return something. She scans my item and receipt then rudely tells me I need to take it to the online return section of the store. I ask where it’s located and she points it to me. Never felt so disrespected in my life! The younger girl who eventually processed my return at the “online” department was great and had no issues with her. Anyway I am so angry & Just really taken aback by the bad experience from the older lady. Stop hiring people who don’t care!
I was here today and was treated so great by the staff. My son was messing around being a toddler being mischievous he got a paper cut on a tag. They quickly jumped into action and before I know it, hes all fixed up and happy! I loved the way they made me feel. Also, I was trying on some clothing and while I was in the dressing room I could see one of the staff members mopping the floor outside. Pretty impressive id say 👌Keep up the GOOD JOB
My customer service experience was fabulous. I accidentally left my keys and sunglasses on the counter and the sales associate made sure that she put them aside for me. Much appreciated 👍🤗👍

Its not a high end department store but the prices would suggest otherwise. First time in years that I bought something. The only reason that I bought the item is that it was in the ballpark of what other name brand stores would charge. Without the discount it wouldnt be even worth talking about.
We hit a great sale and were able to get my mom a beautiful dress for her grand sons wedding, us some.

We were looking for pants for my husband. They had them in the right length we were having trouble getting pants at Fred Meyer they dont have pants in indifferent lengths like 3o long.
They honored an advertised price.Beware that they dont open until 11:00 a.m..
Needed a new pair of shoes for a wedding, barely had anything in stock and what they had in stock wasnt available in anything larger than size 8 or 9.
Our trip to jcpenny went well. Everything seemed to be in place and tidy. Prices were fine.

The lady in customer service was great. She helped me locate a price on a seahawk shirt. There was noting like it & it had no price tag. Took her a bit of research but she found it. I was very happy, especially when I found out it was on clearance. Purchased some other items & was on my way.

Very good customer service in the womens department. Not so much in the mens Department. We were overcharged for an item we were buying and when we brought it to the young mans attention he acted like we were putting him out for needing to correct it.

Since the re-opening of JC Penney things have changed. They send you coupons that arent honored when you shop. They have sales that the customer service people are unaware of (results in being overcharged & a return trip to correct). This has been my store if choice for many years so I was quite disappointed.
Two registers on either side of entries. In this mall the womens and mens department are in separate locations within the mall. The womens sector s currently has 60-80% off in the clearance side.
No security walked in and someone was running out with some clothes.

I had ordered the wrong size online. The employee that handled the return was very kind and helpful. We first check to see if they had the correct size in store. They did not. She let me know which JC Penny my size was at. Which was too far away. We proceeded with the refund and hit a snag with .com. she located the transactions and was able to give me the refund. Which I turn around and spent double the refund 😉

This was a nice store that was clean and well stocked. The employees were really friendly and very helpful! We found what were looking for plus a few extras and enjoyed all of the holiday decorations and merchandise! This was our first trip to South Hill mall and we will definitely be going back!

Was there when they opened. Was with a friend that needed to get tee shirts for her husband. Good quality shirts as for the Stafford ones. All cotton and thick like they should be. Very impressed. The only strange this was the mens dept was separate from the others. At the opposite end of the mall. But, the lady and other employees where supper nice and very informative. So I will be going back, good discounts. 😊

Its a great place to shop the latest trends and it wont cost an arm and a leg! Id rather go to the stores and feeling the fabrics instead of buying online. Try on the clothes, look at the toys and other wares.Online is ok for some things, but Im a old fashioned kind of guy, open the door for ladies, smile and greet people, and having physical stores to go to.Check out my YouTube channel Chaos Entertainment for great gluten free food.
Service was great for my online pick up. The system is a bit flawed. Associates cant get more than 1 order at a time. I thought I could save him time but he said thats not how you system work. Less steps for your associates is really what it should be about.

After going to the clothing JC Pennys we were told that the household appliances are in the other JC Pennys...we went there and couldnt find the appliances we were looking for.
This a review for their photos department. We had an appointment at 4. We actually started the shoot at about 4:45, it took maybe a half hour. And let me tell you, with 5 wiggly bladders and my wife, it was a feat of endurance.Anyway we were done by 5:15 and I took for 4 kids over to the Disney section (instant regret) while my wife finished the picture picking and paying process. We didnt finally leave until 6:30. Even after my wife said she wanted one digital album they insisted on designing cards and collages because they had to. Well I dont think we HAD to wordsmith a Christmas message on cards we clearly were not going to buy.Also, my kids are the best, they pulled out a bunch of the stuffed animals and played kindly for most of the hour we were waiting, as we left they cleaned the place, leaving it better than when we found it. Theyre mom is doing such a good job.
If JCPenney wants to not go out of business, they need to lower their prices.
Trinity and Maria in the JCPenny Salon have made my year! With amazing care they gave my mother a haircut for her hair after 18 round of chemo. My mom went in feeling defeated and came out feeling like a warrior. JUST AMAZING SERVICE!
Worst customer service. The cashier was slow and would not stop talking and telling the other cashier what to do. waited 10 minutes and dropped $100 worth of clothes and walked out. Will never return to this ancient relic of a store.
I brought my husband a free things. Something was wrong with the sleeve on one jacket. I took it back for a even exchange WITH THE RECEIPT and the young man in front act as if I stole it. I spent OVER $300! Then a young lady named Emiley came up and asked what else did we buy I said on there I brought Champion for my son. This young man turns around and says NOT IN THERE, THERES NO CHAMPION, in an accusatory way with his back turned! I held my peace. I was then asked about the pajamas I brought. My husband and I described them to a tee PLUS my husband had on a coat that I purchased. He took off the coat so they could see it was on the receipt. Longer story short. They double the same item which the actual one I brought wasnt on there. I believe that young man name was Jeremy. Ill update it with a right name. He went to help other customers he was so polite to them. He didnt even apologize to us. He just rolled his eyes over his shoulder! I will call up to the store today because this truly is bothering me. I dont play the race card unless this is what Im feeling 😯😕
Kirsten went above and beyond helping us out. She went all over the store putting complete outfits together, including all accessories and shoes. She was AMAZING!! Then Amanda was very sweet to us during checkout. Very impressed and seriously felt like we had the royal treatment.
I am disappointed with Pennys. I use to be able to walk in and see what I wanted to buy almost immediately. At this time they carried tall girl pants and jeans. Then they changed and appeared to target the younger people. I do think JCPenneys carries quality items!

I couldnt find the underwear models
This review is for the photo department. We ordered Christmas photos in early December. Included with the order was a frame. The frame did not come with the photos as they were supposed to. On January 3rd, we received a notice the frame had arrived. Upon arriving at the store, the frame was not there and we were informed it would be shipped to us. The frame was sent to the store and we were informed that we could be charged for shipping to our residence. The store changed their hours and did not place it in all major public locations, so a third trip to acquire said frame (planned with other errands) left us without the object. A lot of broken promises here. I’d recommend avoiding speciality purchases from the photo department or just going somewhere else.
Lots of good sales. Nice range of sizes. This store even has a Sephora Store in side of it. The store is always clean and organized.

I went shopping at the JCPenney store in the South Hill Mall yesterday and bought quite a few things that were on clearance... I do have to admit they have a really good clearance going on right now. But I bought a couple of shirts for my husband that were too small so I went back today to return them. So Im standing in the mens line waiting to return it and the clerk was helping somebody at the register and she looked over at me several times smiling and saw me standing there with the bag in my hand and nothing else. So I stood there and waited for my turn, and just as she was about to finish up with the person in front of me, she looked over and said to me, Are you here to return that? I answered yes, and she told me well you see that blue bed over there, if you walk towards it and take a left at it you can go all the way down that aisle and thats where you can return whatever you have in your bag.Now I had been standing in line for almost 5 minutes at that point, and there were already several people behind me in line. As I turned to walk away, I mumbled and said, I sure wish you told me sooner instead of having me stand in line for 5 minutes, and one of the customers that had been standing in line behind me said, she did that same exact thing to me about 30 minutes ago.Customer service in the mens dept...smhThe lady that did my return over at the return desk was great!
I really like Penneys
This JCPenney store is divided into two separate stores. First one is womens clothing shoes and jewelry. Second one is menswear and housewares and appliances in beds. I love to shop at this JCPenney mainly because of the customer service! If they go above and beyond, and theyre always willing to help you find what you need.
Everyone is really nice and friendly... i dont like that the store is split up in two separate places.. other than that Ive always had a great experience with everyone being so helpful.

Very large spaced out displays in their furniture area with so many different styles to choose from in the bedroom section. Some of the same brands as we saw at Macys but half the price.

Took my husbands ring in for repairs. They called us and told us that they could not repair it. So we decided to come pick it up because another store said they could fix it. but they had already melted our ring down within 2 days of letting us know. Im still so mad!! They didnt have any right to melted down my ring!
Went to the optical department. Janine was the one who waited on me and she did a fantastic job. Left totally satisfied with the service she provided.
I had my daughter in laws hair done at the salon and it turned out awful. She has platinum blonde hair and just needed a root touch up. I asked prior to bring her if anyone there would. E experienced to do that. The lady gave her an appointment with a designer named Stephanie. She didn’t leave the bleach on long enough and it came out a yellow. So she toned her hair several times. She told her to try the purple shampoo when she got home. This made it even more dramatic of a color difference. But what makes me so mad is there were brown spots that I found in her hair. These spots would have been seen while she was drying her hair since they were on top. I don’t understand why she didn’t just tell us that she didn’t have experience doing this and told us no that she couldn’t.

Total lack of customer service, my wife had to resort to doing her own overhead page to get any assistants and she had to do it twice. Finaley someone shows up and acted like she was put out because she had to do her job.
The clerks were great. Especially Taylor. She volunteered to hunt down some things for me. Lots of real bargains on summer tops and shorts!

I had a haircut at this salon last night. They didn’t completely blow dry my hair because they charge for that. So I didn’t get a good look at my hair before leaving. I went home and had a nice night with my family. This morning I looked in the mirror and saw how uneven my hair looked. I straightened it thinking maybe it just dried funny. Nope! It is horribly uneven. Will not be going back here!!!! Ugh
