I loved Hoity Toity when it was on Broadway and I was glad to see it move into the District so we can keep the District alive, but...the new hours are very difficult. They are not open on weekends AT ALL. The weekday hours are 10:30-5:30 or 10:30 to 4:30 so if anyone who works a 9-5 job (thats probably a LOT of people) - theyre out of luck. Also, the store used to have a very chic, boutique feel to it but now there is so much stuff crammed in the space it feels less boutique and more like a typical thrift store. The other thing is, the door signage literally has like 6 things plastered on it that made it the most unwelcoming entrance ever - it was almost comical ONLY ONE SERVICE DOG AT A TIME SURVEILLANCE NO RETURNS DUE TO COVID WATCH YOUR STEP CLOSED FOR EASTER and a couple of others. There was no please/thank you/sorry or any of the other modifiers one might use to make all of that sound a little softer. The CLOSED FOR EASTER was extra annoying because it was two days prior to Easter, and they already have such short hours to begin with. Overall, Im disappointed.

We went here to sell some of my sons clothes. The lady was the rudest person we have ever spoke to. She would not sell the clothes unless they were free of fuzz and lint. Sorry sometimes clothes catch things in the dryer. When she complained we looked at the clothes and there was one piece of fuzz. We have never been so disrespected in our lives. This place is not as innocent as it seems. I would avoid at all costs. I will make sure everyone knows what happened in this store and to just donate your clothes. This place will screw you over in the end and proceed to treat you like trash in the process. Used to love going here. That rude lady ruined it. Will never be back to this disgrace of an establishment.
