We chose Aspinwall for a complete HVAC system for a two unit residential building. The communication, responsiveness, and professionalism from all involved was exceptional. When the installation date arrived, it went smoothly and efficiently. The technicians got right to work and were quiet and respectful. Overall this company is a pleasure to work with. I was called earlier in the day and advised that two Aspinwall service reps would show that day. I was then texted approx 30 min prior to their arrival. They arrived on time and were cordial and professional in assessing my plumbing issue. I received a quote within 48 hours as this was not an emergency situation.

Heat was not working properly and Jake was our service technician. He quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed the heat! Now we are nice and warm. Thank You Jake and Aspinwall! Im a newer customer and I have always had great service. 👍

Called to replace a radiator valve. They came and said this they cannot do and then I received a bill for a $200 diagnostic fee. Im okay with paying a diagnostic fee, I just wish that it is informed when I made the call.Update: After calling to pay, they reduced it to $159

I use this company every year when its time to service my tankless hot water heater. They are super responsive, professional, and the cost is reasonable. They are also accommodating, for example when they worked with my tenant to schedule the service at her unit, but agreed to send me the invoice as the landlord.Their services make my life easier. The blower motor in the heat exchanger AC/heat unit had failed. Our condo maintenance team recommended Aspinwall to fix this. I contacted Aspinwall and after reasonable ~10 days waiting time two technicians came and perform the replacement.However, the price for this job is outrages!While talking by phone and scheduling visit, I said that I need blower fan motor replaced and asked how much it would be. I was told that ESTIMATES are free but DIAGNOSTIC visit is $199, that the price of replacement would be known after the diagnostic visit, and I should send heater exchanger information beforehand. Thus, I sent heater exchanger info to Aspinwall.During the visit, technicians confirmed failed blower motor and said I have two options:1. Either I must pay $199 diagnostic fee now and schedule the repair visit, which would NOT be earlier than in two weeks,2. Or they could replace motor right now, but total price would be $950, because they have a replacement with them “by a chance” (well, I SENT heater info to Aspinwall). To sugar the pill, if work is to be done immediately, they would not charge ADDITIONAL $199 for diagnostic .It was clear that even technician was uncomfortable telling me such outrages price.So, I had a choice to wait for 2+ weeks in an apartment without heat at the end of October, or pay $950, thus, I had to agree on this outrages price.Being a technical person myself, I know that the average price of such a motor is $100-150.The labor time was under 2 hours. It means Aspinwall labor rate is $400 per hour!It can be argued that job was done by 2 technicians and the rate is $200/hour PER PERSON, but this was clearly one skilled person job. Thanks God, Aspinwall did not send 4 technicians!It is obviously a predatory pricing and / or price gauging and felt me feeling bad.My rating for quality of job done is 5, but for the unfair pricing I give 1 star

Aspinwall team did an efficient job removing our old bathtub/ shower unit and installed a new walk-in shower, along with 2 new toilets and hot water heater in just 2 days! Good company quality work although it may take a month for them to pencil you in be as detailed and specific explaining your situation to the receptionists as they are not technicians so the more information you give them it works out better for everybody.

Good experience with Aspinwall recently. Just had them come out for a routine HVAC, furnace, and AC service. Good communication with the day before reminder, and was texted when the tech was on the way. Friendly tech who clearly was knowledgeable about the system. Work was done in an appropriate time and they cleaned up afterwards. Will definitely come back in the future for any HVAC issues, and likely try them for plumbing as well.

I love the fireplace insert that I had installed. From the quote process & selection to the installation everything was professional and well executed. Mike gave me great recommendations and a fair quote. Paula was always responsive to my emails. Surprisingly, the appointment didnt start of well, as I had a scheduled window for plumber to show up and it passed without hearing anything. I called, was told that the scheduled person called out sick and they job had been assigned to new person with a later time. She apologized for not calling me. Well that time also came and went with no one showing up. I called again, and was told that the new plumber was running behind but someone would be dispatched. Someone eventually showed up. Unfortunately all he did was really complain about the previous work that had been done by the same company. Eventually, another plumber showed up (actually he was one we had originally requested) and he was terrific as always. Andrew is absolutely the best and a real professional. We have used this business before and this was the first time we had an issue with plumber showing up as scheduled. I will give them another opportunity for sure, as this was not my usual experience with them. All other experiences had been very positive.

Aspinwall Baystate has done an excellent job of keeping my residential HVAC system running well over the years. They are easy to talk to over the phone and return service calls very quickly.I recently called them for a condensation leak I started to experience. I got an appointment quickly, and the technicians showed up right on time for my appointment window. This happened not too long after Aspinwall was in for routine AC maintenance, so they sent over both the previous maintenance technician and an additional expert. This demonstrated a commitment to making sure jobs get done right. The technicians quickly identified the culprit as a drain pipe that became loose and misaligned, did a great job of explaining it to me with a photo, and talked through the fix they implemented. Best of all, they covered the visit under maintenance warranty. I couldnt say for sure whether something related to the maintenance caused the problem or not, but this was an excellent good-faith gesture and commitment to a quality outcome.Ill be coming back for all of my AC maintenance/repair needs.

We came home from vacation to no hot water. Frank came on Monday and determined that our tankless hot water heater was dead and needed to be replaced. He was back first thing this morning (Tuesday) and completed the job efficiently and professionally.

Jake Williams did an excellent job repairing my Air Conditioner Compressors. He came on a 90 degree Sunday night and made the repairs quickly and effectively. We were all very appreciative.

These guys are pros. They were punctual, the appointment was at 10am and they actually rang the door bell right about that time. The level of communication before and during the appointment was very good. The company send me a photo of the technician 30 min before the appointment. They were wearing masks all the time.The appointment took about an hour and they said I call back in 6 months in case of any issue. Definitely going with them again.

I used this company to fix my gas fireplace. Dennis did a great job. He identified the problem which had to do with a sensor, and cleaned the sensor, cleaned the entire fireplace, and even fashioned a bracket from a piece of metal to bypass an annoying valve that always had to be jiggled to turn on the flame. He also took the time to give me a tutorial on how the fireplace actually works, of which I understood a portion. Very pleased with the whole experience.

I am now about 18 months from my central HVAC install to my house so I can write about the process for selection of the company to what its like once the project is paid for.I did extensive research and comparison shopping before picking Aspinwall Plumbing and Heating to install central air in my home. Lou proposed a whole home solution to meet our unique needs and John J the salesman went through the house and we agreed on the various details of equipment placement, etc..First issue was the plumber refused to mount the tankless HW heater in the agreed-upon location, picking another location instead because his work is like art and he didnt think he could do it in the back room. Mind you-- I had architectural drawings for a whole house reno that included the HW tank in the orginally-agreed upon location that had to be redone because of the plumber moving things. I decided just to give them a mulligan and agreed to let the plumber put it where he wanted...a little case of the salesman over-promising for something that tradesman wont deliver...oh well. Plumbers who have seen the work since then tell me that it could have been done where I orginally wanted it, it just would have been harder....Next, the install dragged on for months and was very disjointed. I think it would have been helpful to have one project manager to oversee all aspects of the work start to finish to keep things coordinated, keep things moving, be accountable to the client, communicate etc. That was a big lack.Weve have a couple of unsatisfactory things since the job was done.1. In the winter time the kitchen sink hot water is scalding hot when it first turns on and takes a minute or two to cool down. Very, very inconvenient if you think of how many times you quickly turn on your kitchen sink. The owner, Lou Mazzini, offered a mixer as a solution for an extra 6-700$. I found that offer insulting given I had just spent tens of thousands on his company--to be asked to shell out hundreds more in order to not burn my hand.2. One of our three bedrooms does not cool well in the summer or heat well in the winter. They installed a booster fan during the first summer after the project was completed when this issue became glaring. This was done because they came out and measured the airflow in that room and it was woefully inadequate. That helped somewhat but the temperature difference is still quite apparent between rooms that are supposed to be in the same zone. Now they have proposed another solution for a few thousand dollars more out of our pocket. Would you like to pay tens of thousands of dollars for central air in your home and then be told you would need to pay more for it to work right?3. There has been an issue with an electric outlet that they installed next to our air handler. Theyve thad the electrician out several times to work on it or repair/replace it. This last time the electrical subcontractor sent the bill directly to me and I forwarded it to Aspinwall. Chris Mazzini, second generation owner, has informed me that he asked them to bill me directly. Additional cost to repair a faulty system was never discussed ahead of time. An invoice by email was the first notice we ever got of this. Im all for paying people honestly for their work, but a surprise bill for hundreds of dollars to fix a newly-installed component does not seem right to me. Oh, and this last time they worked on it they tore up some sections of walls without saying anything. And Chris asked them to bill us without saying anything to us until we got the bill.I really wanted to like this company and waited for a long time before leaving a review hoping they would get things working right.Will update this review if things change.

Only downside is they feel a little expensive but I suppose the responsiveness and quality makes up for it.

Very good communication and great service. We had Aspinwall supply and install our mini-split system. Chris came to our house and went over several system options and forwarded us cost breakdowns for all three. Once we decided the option we wanted we scheduled the installation. The Aspinwall crew (Jake W., Tommy S., Ryan T., and Antolin P) showed up on time and were very friendly and courteous. They explained everything being done and cleaned up after themselves. All in all we are very satisfied and would recommend them to our friends and family.

I wanted to revise a prior poor review that I wrote, but it wont let me so just wanted to send over a new one. I had a comedy of errors that wasnt just with Aspinwall, but some other plumbers as well. I had called to bring my gas vents up to code in order to replace a washer/dryer. After a few issues, miscommunications and unresolved repairs, the owner of the company did call me- he listened, he was very profressional, we even laughed about a few things and at the end of the day he fully righted the wrongs that I experienced. I was originally a very frustrated customer who felt they were taken advantage of, but Chris fully fixed the issue. Due to his leadership, I would recommend using Aspinwall as accountability and trust is huge in running a business. Even with my frustrations, the plumbers on site at the time kept cool and were nice and professional. I would give them another shot if needed.

My Lennox thermostat is dead and need to file a warranty claim and get it replace.All along I have trust in Aspinwall and thought the company is doing honest business and will be upfront with me regarding any cost/rates of for the job. They never mention anything about labor fee so I thought it was all covered under the warranty claim. I got to admit it was part of my fault for not asking for clarification.In addition, I got charged for the times where the technician has to make multiple trips to my home due to miscommunication between Aspinwall and Lennox regarding how the warranty claims process supposed to be. The process should have well thought out before the scheduled multiple visits in which caused inconvenience during this pandemic period.Overall, it was a very bad experience and got overcharged. This will be the first and last business I will do with Aspinwall.Updates: I got reached out by Chris (the owner) to understand the situation. At first, I thought it was just a business call for justification and clarification. However, Chris stated that the company values its customer experience and feedbacks and decided to waive all the fees. I didnt see this coming as this is above and beyond my expectation. It is rare now a day to see a company takes their customer feedbacks solemnly. This has changed my perspective and I will look forward to calling them again for any future services.

Aspinwall was very helpful with a recent plumbing issue. Andrew came to my condo to evaluate what exactly needed to be done to stop the leak in my shower and bathroom sink. He called me with updates and estimates before completing the job and was able to fix both issues in a few hours.

The downside is that Aspinwall replaced all major hoses in our Whalen system compressor units in our apartment about 2 months ago, and one of the new hoses burst, ruining part of a newly-installed wood floor. But, they sent out an employee at 10 PM last night, who quickly admitted that the hose was defective, and replaced it. He also left a large industrial floor fan to dry things out. Installing a defective hose (it was pretty obvious that it was defective) was a mistake, but they did respond quickly to fix it.

Gene and his staff are great. Extremely thorough and professional. I wasnt able to be home while they did their work but I had no worries leaving them in my home alone.
