Wyatt and team are outstanding. Has taken care of me on a few occasions from a new bumper for my Gladiator to tires, wheels, and a lift kit. The folks here really speak Jeep and know the demands and needs for the trail. If you know what you want, expect great service and outstanding pricing. If not, they can expertly guide you to the rig of your dreams. From mild to wild, this is the place to go for your Jeep!

Wow. What a solid place. Efficient, effective and fast. Very professional with excellent service. I highly recommended Grover McNair and his fabulous team.Luis and Jennifer are incredible. They are very honest and very helpful. They will always put the customer first and they take extra care of every single person. I truly believe they treat me as they would treat a member of their own family. As a woman who does not know very much about cars Im a cliche, I know, but I feel like Im in good hands every time I take my car to them for a regular inspection, for them to help me with a tire leak, or regular maintenance. you cant beat their location theyre only a five minute drive from Brier Creek.

I took my vehicle to McNair for a state inspection. It failed due to a bad tire and an exhaust leak. I had these items fixed and took the vehicle back 2 months later. The mechanic showed me where the exhaust was rubbing on the oil pan, which I appreciate. However, they failed the vehicle again, this time due to a missing vacuum line which was not mentioned the first time. I think the mechanics are knowledgeable, but there seems to be too much variation on how cars are inspected. It is a waste of time and money to have to keep getting retested because the mechanics doing the test are not consistent. Aside from that, the general attitude is mostly ambivalence towards the customer. I dont think the receptionist enjoys having a job interacting with other people. I will have to keep an eye out for a better shop that is more consistent in their work. It may be that they only want to work on larger jobs or performance vehicles.

I have been having some issues with my car at another car repair business and had some questions with the repairs. I had previously brought my vehicle in because of an immediate concern, so I called and spoke with Grover regarding my current car issues. He clearly explained what was going on, his opinions on the matter and exactly what to ask the place I brought my car. I fully intend to switch shops to come here in the future and really appreciated Grovers help and expertise.

Honesty. Quality. Value. Grover did all my maintenance on my MX6 from 1990-1998, helping it last past 250,000 miles. Always did what the car needed and never tried to up-sell me. Their experience saved me money over dealership maintenance because Grover and his team knew how to do the job and did it faster and better.

I went to McNair for my annual NC Safety Check. My MINI failed the check because one of the parking lights was out. McNair told me that they could fix it on the spot for $100 and send me on my way. They said it cost so much because they had to take part of the car apart to get at the light. Since I have a regular shop that does all of my repairs (they just dont do the NC Safety Check) I declined and took it there. When I went to my regular shop Reliable Import Service (those guys are incredible by the way) I showed them the light that was out and they told me that it would be a few minutes. The owner came in with the bill and said it was all set. I took out my wallet and looked at the bill and it was $0. I looked up puzzled and he said it took about 30 seconds and laughed. I told him about McNair wanting to charge me $100 and he just shrugged. Go figure.Because of this I will never go back or recommend McNair Performance ripoffs to anyone... I would beware...

I needed a car inspection and checked on line for one closest to my house. I called and they accommodated me very quickly and Jennifer was very professional and courteous. So was the inspector. I was in and out in about 20 minutes, a lot faster than most other places I have been to.I intend to start using them for auto repairs.

Ive never had anything but a great experience going to McNair. I dont know what happened with the reviewer who said the receptionist doesnt like working with people, as Jennifer has always been very friendly whenever Ive called or gone in.The mechanics are friendly and know their stuff, and Ive never had anything pushed on me that I dont need. They even told me how to troubleshoot an issue at home, myself, saving me the money required to have them do it.I definitely have no problems recommending McNair to anyone!

I love McNair Performance!! They have ALWAYS gone above and beyond my expectations. Their customer service (especially Jennifer) is top notch. I would recommend McNair to anyone looking for a reputable and affordable auto repair company. Once I found them (approximately 4 or 5 years ago) I have been with them ever since. Im sure we have all encountered less than reputable auto repair companies, so it is refreshing to know that I can put my vehicle (along with my daughters) in their capable hands and know that they will do anything and everything to ensure that the vehicles are fixed properly, are safe to drive and at a reasonable cost. I will NEVER use another auto repair company for any of our vehicles.

Just went in for a car inspection, was quite pleased. Staff was friendly and polite, vehicle was left out front for me to easily access and drive away. Got an appointment next-day and was in and out in 30 minutes. At my inspection last year, a different mechanic tried to tell me I had a cracked exhaust manifold. After getting a second opinion my vehicle was passed then, but I have been paranoid about being scammed similarly this year. No worries from McNair Performance, if you are looking for a fair, honest, and professional service, this is your shop.

I took my Mazda 6 to McNairs about a month ago to have the alignment corrected. The chain store I usually use couldnt seem to get it right after trying 3 times. Finally I went to McNair and lo and behold my steering wheel is straight again! While I was there they also pointed out loose exhaust components also from the chain store and, that I was due for an inspection in 30 days. Great experience all the way around, fast and friendly but most of all honest.

Great, honest auto repair shop. McNair Performance came recommended from friends and employees. I recently had my 2002 truck serviced at the dealership which told me I needed $900 dollars in steering components to pass NC inspection. I took my truck to McNair and they completely resolved the steering issues with a simple adjustment to the steering gear. Before I arrived, Grover had listened to my issue over the phone and assured me that the steering components in question hardly ever needed replacing. He felt confident that only one of the components would need replacing in a worst case scenario. He quoted me $434 and when he was finished a few hours later the bill was less than $150 including an NC inspection. Grover and the people at McNair get it. They understand that long term business success lies in doing proper, quality work and not in excessive, unnecessary charges/work.

Grover at McNair Performance is incredibly honest, skilled, and calm in the face of a crisis. I ran into a situation where my cat got out of her carrier and wedged her body underneath the front passenger seat; when I tried to pull her out she got tangled up in the wires. I called the nearest car repair shop in a panic, and McNair Performance said they would be able to take out the passenger seat if need be. Grover spent at least a half hour trying to untangle my cat while also unbolting the seat as gently as possible so he could lift it up and we could extract her without hurting her. My cat is fine thanks to McNair Performance immediately helping her! Even better, he didnt charge me anything because he just wanted to help an animal! And he put my car back together perfectly -- even the parts I had torn out before going over there. If youre looking for an honest person to work on your car, this is the place! I would definitely go back there for car service - everyone I encountered there was so nice and helpful!

Went there to ask about some preformance mods for my truck to find out they no longer do preformance work and apparently haven’t for two years. It’s literally in the name and advertised on their website that they do preformance work, huge waste of my time won’t be back. Editing my review to clarify this is about Mcnair preformance not “Jack your Jeep” as it seems they bought out McNair.

I recently took my car to McNairs for a flat tire I acquired very close to the shop. There was a bolt in the tire. I was informed that the tire could not be fixed after the mechanic had a chance to look at it. Their recommendation was to replace it. I asked them to put the spare on which I was charged $34.33. I then took the tire to my normal mechanic. When my mechanic took a look at the tire he could not understand how McNairs came to the conclusion that my tire couldnt be plugged. The bolt was still in the tire so there was no way they could check to see if there was too much internal damage (which I was told was the reason it couldnt be plugged). The tire was repaired for $20 and I was on my way. While I greatly appreciated the fact that they took my car quickly, I feel like they did not have my best interests at heart.

Took my car in for an NC inspection. They mis-entered my cars information in to the system for emissions twice and failed my car twice. Because the information was incorrect, they were failing me for an emissions part that did not even come on the car (from the manufacturer). I openly disagreed with them and instead of actually trying to troubleshoot the problem on their side, they just failed it, charged me and told me to take it to the DMV for inspection. Went somewhere else, information was entered correctly, and that part was listed as N/A (not applicable) because my car didnt come with it. All it would have taken was a little common sense and troubleshooting. If they cant get something as simple as an emissions inspection right, nor take the time to really understand what was going on, I wouldnt trust them with anything else more complex.UPDATE: To respond to McNairs response: There were 2 issues the first failure (I accept that). When I returned, the catalytic converter issue was resolved, however the second issue was not something another inspector let slide. They had the appropriate information and used common sense. A modified car can still pass inspection as long as the modifications dont inhibit the safety or emissions components. My car was not modified (after cat was installed) to circumvent emissions. For a Performance named company, I cant imagine you would have any reason to say a modified car is either problematic or reason to fail an emissions inspection, across the board.

It has been an absolute pleasure. Thanks to McNair Performance my little ND Miata is now handling like a dream. Its been a while since Ive been assisting Formula Ford car set ups for race days, but never have I been invited by the garage guys to sit in my car while balancing suspension or tuning alignment until today. Thats proper! Its obvious these guys know what theyre doing. Its a shame these gem like shops are so hard to find nowadays..If you want your pierced tires repaired goto a tire shop, if you want your cars inner soul tuned to your style and preference with typical racing anal precision youve come to the right place!I will travel a thousand miles again for my next upgrade. Thanks McNair Performance

Took my car in to have a couple tires mounted. Apparently one of the studs was cross threaded and the entire assembly needed to be replaced. After having all of this done, the car was returned to me with a dashboard lit up with warning lights. If there are issues that werent there before, why would you give it back to me just for me to turn around and tell you there is a problem? Additionally, they hadnt reset the TPMS, which had to be done as well. Turns out they installed something incorrectly. So after all of this was finally handled, I got an oil change a few months later and was informed that my control arm bushing was destroyed on that same wheel they had worked on. My car is 2 years old!Now I will just take it to the dealership, which I probably should have done from the start.

I stopped by this repair shop to check overheating problem of the car. When I checked the car myself on the road before I went to the shop, the cooling fan did not work. The receptionist talked with the engineer right after the technician inspected the car and come to me to tell the engine was burned out because there was no engine oil and no coolant, and there is too much problem to fix it. There was no mention about the cooling fan. If I wish, the receptionist said, they can try to replace the engine cap with $2000 if I leave the car. And added there is no guarantee, it may cost several thousand dollars more later to fix the bottom part of the engine. When I asked whether I can drive the car to my home shortly if the engine oil and coolant are filled, the receptionist denied to do that mentioning its impossible. And they strongly recommended to junk the car without charging any cost. Then I decided to tow the car another garage. They charged me $109 for the inspection only.I called AAA to tow the car to another repair shop. The engineer found that the cooling fan only did not work and replaced with a new one and filled the engine oil only not coolant. It took only one hour. It works well now.

So this holiday was supposed to be a great time for my friend Taylor who just recently got engaged. After her fiancée came home for thanksgiving break from Ft. Bragg (hes done two tours in Afghanistan) and they went to visit family in Tennessee he proposed to her. Upon driving back she realized her wheel bearing needed to be fixed on her vehicle. She took it to McNair Performance on Westgate in Raleigh where she was quoted $580 for the repair, parts and labor. Then everything took a turn for the worse. McNair Performance called her multiple times with increases in the estimate stating vague reasons and were belligerent every time Taylor asked questions. Upon telling her the price had now increased over 300% to either $1,500 or $2,000. When Taylor notified them she did not want them to do the repair because the cost was too much they told her that because of the work they had already performed (work she had not consented to nor approved for them to continue with) that the price for them to put her car back together so she could take it would be $459. Let that sink in. They are charging her 80% of the original estimate price that was supposed to include the repair parts and labor to just have taken it apart and put it back together. It gets worse. Upon being notified of the situation, her fiancée and father tried to reason with McNair and even agreed to meet them half way. The owner would not budge and when we all went to get the car today McNairs owner told them he would not take a debit or credit card (which they take in normal course of business) and that it needed to be paid in either certified check or cash. McNair closes at 5 PM on Fridays and her fiancée had left Ft. Bragg early to pick her up and bring her but upon getting to the repair shop it was 4:45. Her fiancée then asked if he could go get cash and come back and pay the amount and the owner told him they close at 5 and if he wasnt back by then he would have to pay two days of storage since the next day they are open is Monday. This is not only a case of a business trying to take advantage of someone because she was a 23 year old girl who presumably knows nothing about cars, it is completely unethical and a terrible way to do business. Now on top of having to pay McNair the almost $600 with the storage fee they are going to have to pay the $850 to get it repaired at Lexus. Im not sure about you, but it seems to me that McNair has a warped sense of business and holiday spirit by extorting a young couple who just got engaged and essentially robbing them of their hard earned money that was going to allow them to go and visit their family for the holidays.I implore anybody of my friends in the Raleigh area, please share, repost, do whatever you have to do to make sure McNair Performance can never practice their unethical extortion tactics on any other client that is unfortunate enough to go through their door.
