I’ve been brewing my own beer since 2005. This place has a great selection of ingredients that are always fresh. You can order online and pick up in the store while you grab a beer at the brewery there which is awesome. The staff is friendly, helpful and I’d rather support this local business than order my stuff from an online retailer. They also host classes for beer and wine making. Check them out for sure!

Great brew shop next door to Raleigh brewing! When following google maps its hard to tell where the entrance is. If you see picnic tables just park! Its the door in the corner up the stairs. Make sure to order your grain bill online for store pickup. Its great to roll up and just grab your recipe!

There’s many brew supply stores to choose from and we’ve tried quite a few of them. ABS is hands down the best of the best. We are in Virginia, and it blows us away that we can order grains/hops/yeast/etc in the evening. The next morning there’s an email with a tracking number and following day it’s here. Fresh, crushed perfectly and ready to brew. Any time I’ve called with a question, I get a fast, honest and helpful answer. We are in our tenth year of home brewing and there is no other place we’ll buy from !

The staff is extremely patient and respectful to all their patrons. I was purchasing my second recipe and the staff multi tasked between myself, a gentleman with a speech disability and another who purchased a thermometer and later realized it was broken. The thermometer guy got a new one right away (with integrity), the speech guy got everything he needed for his operation (through patience and understanding) and I got all my ingredients with no hassle. These people are the best.

Im not sure Ive ever left a review before, but I feel that ABS has earned my loyalty. They have excellent selection, extremely prompt shipping, and the one time I had to use customer service, they went above and beyond. They are tremendous to work with and I very highly recommend them to anyone that wants homebrew supplies and assistance.

I love my little local homebrew shop. Theyve been doing an especially spectacular job during covid with extremely easy online order and pick up, one way markings on the floor, masks, etc. Plus the extra care of the fun decorations on all the bags. Keep up all the good work!

Ive shopped ABS in person, online with pickup, and online with shipping. All three have been great! They carry a solid inventory and have a wonderful staff. Ive been homebrewing for 25+ years and theyre my favorite shop yet. No need to look any futher.

Support your local homebrew supply store!!

I just ordered grain and yeast from these guys. Now, I know its risky to order yeast in summer. However, the yeast I received was extremely well packaged and cool to the touch. Also, it was dated as only a few weeks old! I have ordered brewing ingredients from many many online suppliers and have been let down with old yeast many times. I have never had my order so fresh, well packaged, and delivered so promptly. I live in Central New York and received my package in 4 days. Shipping was also very reasonably priced. These guys are my new go to company. I wont look anywhere else unless they are out of something. Great job.

I may be 300 miles away but ABS has become my LHBS. I placed an order yesterday at 3PM. At 4:30 I got a notice that it had shipped and is out for delivery 1 day later. Awesome job ABS! Cant wait to stop by and say hi next time Im in Raleigh.

Great customer service. After UPS lost the original shipment, Atlantic brew was awesome and sent out another package very quickly. Really appreciate their help and promptness. Always happy to support a local business when they are as nice as these guys.

Truly great people to deal with, especially online. 8 dollar flat rate shipping, they get your stuff out very quickly and if you’re in North Carolina you have it the next day. They add cold packs for yeast at no charge, everything is packed extremely well, and the one time I have had a missing item it was corrected quickly and with a sincere apology. Honestly not much more you can ask for in a brew shop, whether you are local to raleigh or ordering online. Love these guys.

Picked up my homebrew ingredients this afternoon during COVID-19 Stage 2 restrictions and the pickup they offer seems clean and safe for both customers and employees. They require everyone in the door to wear a mask and have everything ready for pickup right near the main entrance to the shop. As always the ingredients look great and I cant wait to get started. Solid homebrew store, always have what you need

We went for the first time today to get a CO2 tank. The gentleman was very rude. They all seemed like they weren’t happy to be at work. I get it’s the day after Christmas and they might not want to be at work. We will not be going back.

I was here today and had added some general comments about some of the equipment I was buying on my contactless order. They did an excellent job of walking me through my concerns and made sure I had the necessary add-ons to my wort chiller and confirmed some of my choices for Pilsener brew since I couldn’t consult with them in person.Top-notch help and product availability!!!

Absolutely love this place. Amazing selection of fresh brew supplies at prices that cant be beat. Staff that are knowledgeable and approachable, not to mention helpful. I drive an hour and a half away to make it to this shop, and would drive even longer if I had to.

ABS was everything it lived up to. I have been researching on how to brew for months now and I FINALLY talked my wife into letting me try it out. I wish I could remember the guys name, he was tall (like 66) but he was fantastic. He didnt try to up sell me whatsoever, I told him what I wanted, and he provided it for me. Cant get easier than that. AND he gave me a killer recipe for 10% Hard Cider, which is brewing in my new set up as we speak. I would highly recommend ABS!!

My go to homebrew supply store. Very friendly staff, fast shipping and grain could be ordered by the ounce which makes recipe building really easy when you don’t have the space at home to store extra grain sacks. Really good prices and takes about two days to get to me in Connecticut.

Three years ago I started brewing again - extract kits at first, then to all grain. Early on I found Atlantic Brew Supply (ABS). Even though it is a 2 hour plus drive for me, I dropped by and at first was a little overwhelmed by everything on display. I told them what I was trying to do and asked for advice on how best to do it. Right then I knew Id come to the right place. At their suggestion, I took one of their classes - it was hands on and exceptional. They took the mystery out of the process and demonstrated how you really can make exceptional beer. I figured out what Id need, and the staff steered me in the right direction. Without their patience, encouragement and willingness to answer my countless questions, I doubt if Id have progressed to the level I desired.The quality and quantity of equipment and ingredients they have in stock are on par with the largest online retailers and at competitive prices. No matter how traditional or esoteric your next recipe might be, they have the hops, yeast and grains youll need. Atlantic Brew Supply did not have the yeast I ordered online, but they called immediately after my order was placed to let me know. They explained to me the quality control procedures they practice and the yeast I ordered was past it’s shelf life. Best customer service I have experienced as a home brewer now that I have to rely on purchasing online due to lhbs going out of business in my area. The customer service alone will make me place future orders with them and I will tell all other homebrewers about them. Thanks for reaching out!

ABS is awesome. I dont understand how someone could say that staff is not good. Maybe you had a dud of an employee, but I encourage you to revisit the shop. I usually come in when I have about an hour of free time because they are so good at answering all my questions. The guy you need to see is Tony, he is always more than welcome to take out a chunk of his day to answer your amateur to most complex questions (hell never act like any question is stupid questions though). The service is the main reason I am loyal to this store.

I just moved to town out 2 months ago and was looking for a go to place. I have shopped at Atlantic and America Brewmasters several times. Atlantics selection and prices are good, but the the staff we less than helpful. Which I thought was odd given all the other good reviews on here. They couldnt answer my question and seemed reluctant to assist me. Luckily I had my smart phone. Thanks Google for all your help on my latest batch of beer, because ABS staff sure couldnt. Also every time I have been to ABS the check out was quite pushy about trying to sell me more stuff. I know its a business, but this guy was obnoxious. If Im in the area an need something in a pitch I will pop back in and grab it, but I rather head over to American Brew Master personally.

If you all read the reviews, you notice Mike West provided a 1-star review a week ago BUT someone elses review from 9 months ago references a Mike West review (that has apparently been removed). Im guessing that reviewer is correct in that Mike West must own/work for a competitor. Im wondering if Mike Jones is one as well.My husband is the home-brewer in our family so Im often just the bystander when we get beer supplies. However, Ive learned A LOT from the folks at Atlantic Brew Supply, especially Tony who is a never-ending source of information and inspiration when it comes to designing the next beer. Im always treated with respect instead of some girl who doesnt know anything about beer and nobody minds my questions. They almost always have what we need in stock. The prices are on par or cheaper with everywhere else Ive been and we always leave happy. The employees are always supportive of my husbands home brews and give him great feedback; theyre really good at troubleshooting (like over-carbonation for no apparent reason).Unless we are in some sort of weird time crunch or cant get to ABS, thats where we will always go!The only cons I can even come up with would be that sometimes the check out process is a bit lengthy, but thats usually because employees are busy helping other customers. And beer questions are never that simple and quick to answer. We acknowledge that if we want to get in and out of a store, a brewing supply store (of any kind) probably isnt where we should be shopping!

Not the hardware supply they used to have. Great grain supply though.Someone from the store has contacted me in reference to my experience with this review and visit. Everyone I have come in contact with was very helpful, knowledgable and pleasant.They even helped me with some used equipment I bought elsewhere without the slightest hesitation. Got to give them 5 stars, if for no other reason than to bump up their overall score.

Only brew shop I went to more than twice cause none came close to abs in service, selection and general quality. In particular, the service is nothing short of stellar and the stores atmosphere is by itself worth the trip. I never went to both Raleigh brewing and abs and I only twice went to abs without one or both of my daughters, very kid friendly.

Recently got into home brewing the past couple months and ABS is the only brew supply store Ive ever been to, but its exceeded my expectations. Staff is always helpful with any questions you have and wont try to force you into buying anything they know you dont need, prices are better than competitors, great ingredients selection on grain, hops, yeast, etc. I love brewing my own beer and dont envision stopping anytime soon, so as long as Im in Raleigh ABS will have my business.

ABS is new but theyre off to a great start. The selection of hops, yeast and grain is fantastic. They even have larger packs of hops and sell grain by the ounce and sack. The prices are very reasonable.But the service is another reason to go. John is a great resource for homebrewers. He knows the product well and can also provide some good recommendations to help you reach your brewing goals.Its great to have another homebrew shop in the area (especially one thats closer to me). This place is only going to get better as they continue to fill up the large space they have available. Check it out. I cant wait until the brewery opens.

Spent countless hours drinking delicious pint after pint of RBC beer while shopping and learning from this incredible staff. I dont leave many reviews, but this place deserves all the stars, so I came here to leave one of my very rare reviews, and was quite perplexed at one of the most recent reviews bashing this fine establishment. As a home brewer and beer lover, I have frequented all of the breweries in Raleigh regularly, and have always admired what a close knit group of people brewers are, which is why I find it odd and rather curious that Matt Bowling, brewer for Crank Arm, would come to a fellow beer establishment and bash on the crew so harshly (never once have I ever felt anyone here has an ignorant opinion, nor have I ever felt forced to purchase anything. As a matter of fact, they seem to try down-selling me to save me money almost every time I come in). Not sure if there is some beef Crank Arm staff has with RBC or ABS, but this just kinda seems like a smear campaign. Come on Crank Arm and staff, youre better than that.Aside from that, these people are great. I mean, where else can you sip on a beer while shopping and receiving free information from fellow beer nerds. I also see that sometimes people have to wait longer than they think they deserve. Perhaps they are busy a lot of times, but that just goes to show what a great place this is to shop. I dont mind the wait, I will just grab another beer, pick the brains of these beer geniuses, or sit down and color a pretty picture. Im tellin ya, they have it all!

Great homebrew shop! Ive made some online orders before, and have had beyond exceptional service working with them. When I had an issue with a product, not of their doing but the manufacturers low quality control, they went above and beyond to correct the issue for me. When I was in the area I decided to stop by, and was floored by the organization of the store, and they friendly staff. The store staff is just as helpful and knowledable as their online operation, and keep the pressure off when shopping, not pressuring to make sales, but to help make decisions.Atlantic Brew Supply is at the top of my list for homebrewing, and have got themself a customer for life.

I have been home brewing for just over a year. I have been to all of the local shops here in Raleigh for supplies, and ABS is hands down the best one out there in my opinion.They may not have boxed kits on the shelf, but they will put together any of their recipe clones for you on the spot with fresh ingredients. They will also help you design a beer, when they are not too busy.I will admit sometimes they can spend a little too long with customers, but since they have added more staff it is less of an issue currently.They toil endlessly to make sure the ingredients are fresh including making sure yeast has not expired.All of their staff is knowledgable and can help you with any question you have, heck they even have a person who specializes in probiotics! If for some reason I ever had to leave the area I would sorely miss this store.

Found this place while searching for homebrew stores in Raleigh.Ive been to one other store in the area and I must say that I was rather impressed with this place compared to the other that I visited. It is like the Super Wal-Mart of Homebrew stores.It is very large and has a ton of equipment and supplies for sale.Specialty grains sold by the ounce and their prices are competitive with online stores and blow the local competition out of the water. 50# sac of American 2 row for $39!! Doesnt get much better than that.Will be buying all of my supplies from here from now on.

I just cant believe that I wasted so much money and time (before I knew of Atlantic) with their competitor, American Brewmasters (I used to work there at Brewmasters, and even with my employee discount there, Atlantics prices were still better, but Brewmasters is so horrible compared to ABS for many reasons!
