My wife and I did our Open Water certifications with Randy in 2016. Since then, weve bought lots of equipment, obtained several specialty certifications, attended quarry socials, had equipment serviced through AirTech, and been on several trips through Gypsy. Weve had nothing but great experiences; the shop staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful, and the instructors have all been thorough and patient. Gypsy rocks 🤘

Welcoming & knowledgable staff. I learned to dive with Gypsy (Randy) in 2017. I moved away shortly after to work in the dive industry and occasionally needed to buy gear. My mom (non diver) would shop for me & the staff were always patient and honest with her regarding gear, products, etc... AirTech serviced my gear recently for a fair price & they did a wonderful job. Great customer service from Lauren, Billy, and others. I’m so happy this gem exists in Raleigh!

Our instructor, Eric, was super knowledgeable, patient and encouraging with my husband and I as first time scuba divers. We learned so much. Cannot recommend Gypsy Divers enough!

After my brother got certified at Gypsy a year ago he begged us to come down to NC from MD to get Open Water Diver certified - saying that training there was better than anything we could get locally. Gypsy did not disappoint!My wife, two sisters, and I all got certified together in a private class. Billy and his staff got us all outfitted - going above and beyond to get us all our gear ordered and right for us (even overnighting gear that was unavailable in shop so we could have it in time for lessons). They were always on hand to answer questions, tailor/fit gear, and share experiences. It is a lot of fun just hanging out in the shop.The lessons were awesome. Eric was our instructor - and he made the lessons fun. Serious when needed, playful during skills practice, and worked with each person to keep all trainees comfortable and to help us overcome discomfort when we got overwhelmed. Transformed a family of lets get certified so we can scuba on vacation people into lets go diving every weekend advocates.Gypsy is awesome. Highly recommend working with Billy and Eric to get geared up, trained, and in the water.

Excellent shop with absolutely great people and fantastic service

I, my husband and two children all were certified through Gypsy Divers about 7 years ago. We bought two complete sets of dive gear as well as upgraded some of those pieces since purchasing. They service our BCDs and my husband’s regulator and always do a great and timely job. We have gone on a couple of their dive trips and had a great time. We always enjoy interactions with the crew at Gypsy Divers and have complete respect and trust in them all. All that to tell you that Gypsy Diver is a great business and we highly recommend them.

Gypsy Divers is a very professional dive shop and dive training business. They have a very good policy for you to ensure you have the equipment that meets your needs. Dave, the owner has a tremendous amount of experience and he is very easy to talk to and get recommendations on where to dive. The in-house scuba service shop is top notch with well trained technicians and great repair and servicing offerings.The Gypsy Divers trips I have been on were a lot of fun and very well organized. A group of us took our daughters to the Aquatic center to introduce them to scuba. Lou made our visit fun and interesting. Thank you so much for giving my daughter this small taste of an exciting adventure. Awesom place! Well established shop with lots of inhouse options, and knowledgeable staff. Pool is on site and is over 11ft deep so your pool time is easy and practical if your learning and jus getting started in Scuba or refreshing skills. The shop is definitely a dive shop and gives you that feeling with the decor/environment not just a retail setting. My class experience went well you could tell they were in high demand and busy with training. Rental gear is used but quality scubapro i didnt encounter anything damaged or non functional. I did purchased my own equipment in order to take advantage of the free classes option and warranties. Certification dives were at Fantasy lake which is a good place to visit even had a large cookout that coincided one of the days. I always felt part of the group and welcomed not as if they were there just to take the money. I am a big price comparison person all other retail locations had exact pricing. I appreciate the environment and the confidence in my open water and nitrox certification process. I have yet to experience their touted service center but wouldnt expect less being one of the largest on the east coast.

I go out of my way to take my kids here for swimming lessons. Its amazing how much they learn from the very qualified instructors. I wish it was closer to my house, and wed be there year-round.

Very professional and courteous. I came here to have regulator serviced because another shop on other side of town had let me down. Improper servicing caused seal to blow and could therefore not participate in second boat dive.

Great dive shop with a professional staff. Airtech did excellent job on my regulator.

Took my gear there for a rush job for snap decision dive trip. They did good work, but it was definitely expensive for a rush job -- and extra $10 per stage. However, one of the things I liked is when I picked my gear up, they let you jump in the pool to make sure its all working. I tooled around for about 30 minutes to get my weights right and do some skills refresher. Good shop; Id use them again. Might even forgive them for being SSI vice PADI.

Im an independent PADI instructor and have to say that without Gypsy Divers it would be hard, if not impossible, for me to condict any open water classes. Having a classroom, equipment and pool all in a single location make it easy to condict open water classes. Thanks Dave, Billy and the rest of teh crew!
