The only real knock is it does seem to be slightly over priced, however this may have something to do with the diverse menu they offer. I always like to find places with a variety as they offer. I went with the Treehugger which is biscuits and gravy with vegan sausage which I enjoyed. I have tried some vegan sausages from grocery stores and they arent as good as theirs. Admittedly, regular pork sausage is much better but I havent eaten pork in almost 2 years. Apart from the actual food, the customer service was very good. Considering they are more of a grab n go type place it is nice to see that they train their employees to provide outstanding service. Everyone in the store was friendly, which is what you want first thing in the morning. I have been in several places in Raleigh where the employees almost act as you dont exist. Great customer service is the key to restaurants and Rise definitely embodies that.

We found this on a whim, when we needed a quick breakfast. The location is great and the outdoor seating is perfect! They are friendly & efficient. You order on an iPad and can customize your order smoothly and seamlessly. The menu there also included drinks in the cooler as you enter. Grab it then. We each got the avocado & egg biscuit and shared a blueberry glazed biscuit. The servings are generous & delicious. Highly recommend this cute, corner, quick-service place.

Rise is my favorite Donut/Biscuit shop in town. I used to go every Sunday. They switch up their menu quite often, so you pretty much always have something new to choose from. Their biscuits are phenomenal. They try and add a culinary twist to the featured biscuits and boy are they great. My go to is the chicken biscuit with local cheese. Best chicken biscuit in town by far. Attached is a picture of their red velvet cake donut.

The food is tasty. Can compliment their donuts and biscuits. Can totally echo the less than awesome service. I ordered online for curbside pickup because I had my sleeping baby in the car with me. Tim answered the phone and brought my order out. Just seems genuinely unhappy and like I inconvenienced him for taking advantage of a service (curbside pickup) that is printed on a chalkboard sign in front of the building. The whole interaction was about 90 seconds long and he wasn’t overtly rude or anything, just inconvenienced. This is actually not the first time we’ve experienced service that was just “off” at this location, but the last time was at least a year or two ago and I don’t really remember the details, just that the Cameron village location is just different. We usually go to the morrisville location and have had no problems. This most recent experience, and the fact that this isn’t the first time I’ve left this location with a sour taste in my mouth prompted me to write this post. I can understand anybody having a bad day, but “not excellent service” has been a consistent experience for us here.

Today September 5, 2020 my husband and I visited this location for breakfast. We ordered online and we arrived we waited patiently for our order. During our wait I decided to ordered a Creme Brûlée doughnut as I have never had one before and I saw in particular that looked delicious to me and requested specifically for that item. The doughnut was located in the back on the left, I saw the manager/owner didn’t give me that one, he actually gave me the one in the back on the left, I asked if I could please have that one. He then informed me that he cannot give customers the particular donut that they want, That he didn’t have time to get the exact item that I wanted and that the store was too busy for him to get me the exact donut that I want. I felt that was very rude and unprofessional and I felt belittled as I am a paying patron that is asking for a specific item and to be denied that after I have paid for service was very inconsiderate. He was very indifferent and acting as I was bothering him. When I left out of the store I saw him bringing actually walking out of the store to bring customers their orders but he couldn’t have time to give one client or customer some thing that they are asking for? So I guess my question is is this a policy that you all have to where you do not give customers items that they want? And if this is I really do think that there needs to be sign stating that customers cannot get particular items that they want, especially something that is on display. Customer service was horrible today and I don’t know if this manager/owner was having a bad day, but it’s not acceptable behavior to inflict on paying customers.

I ordered the biscuits and gravy, it had green onions on it and cheese, you dont need to add anything to sausage gravy. I hate when people take a simple recipe and try to add to it, just leave it alone. Also youre supposed to have bits of sausage in with your sausage gravy, not gravy with a piece of sausage on top, thats not sausage gravy. Also when its a to go order put the gravy in a small container instead of on the biscuit. If you want good biscuits and gravy go to Hardees, its cheaper too.

As someone who grew up in Winston-Salem, the home of Krispy Kreme donuts, I was skeptical to try a new place, especially one who specializes in cake donuts. However, I was very impressed. Although they have multiple locations in North Carolina as well as scattered in the south, I considered their donuts fresh and more local than Krispy Kreme. When I went with my family we got six donuts to try as well as different kinds of biscuit sandwiches. They were all delicious. If you are looking for a quicker, delicious spot for breakfast or even a sweet treat after lunch, they are open till 2 p.m. I highly recommend their sprinkled donut, it is a classic but delicious!

Entire store employees are wearing cloth mask which are not cdc approved to prevent Covid-19 but yet Management is highly judgemental and freely shows hostility with no regard to consequences and readiness to scold anyone without a mask. Care of my personal time was not shown to be cared for. Lack of empathy and abrasive rudeness is all i receive from the moment i walked in until the moment i was handed my food to deliver 15 minutes after arriving to the store. After driving 5 minutes. Does it really take 20 minutes to make 2 breakfast sandwiches and put 2 more donuts in a bag. No respected gentleman or lady should eat here if you value your time and practice common courtesy and respect.

I am greatly dissatisfied with the service at Rise, in particular the treatment of customers by the cashier who is a white guy with a bald head. He severally mistreats customers, my first visit (late March - Early April) he had called the police on who he had described as an irate delivery driver. I did not witness the events preceding the call but I was there when he told the police officers I dont want him cited, I just want to make sure he never comes back here. Funny how he called the police and then told them how to do their job. Using the police as your private security is unacceptable especially during a pandemic. Its incomprehensible how he attempted to escalate a biscuit order into a misdemeanor. Two months after that scenario I revisited Rise thinking hed just had a bad day. As soon as I walked in he stood at the register and told me to use the tablet on the wall to order. The next customer was told the same thing then pointed to the sign that said we could order with a human. The cashier was very snarky when he replied That sign is true when Im not busy. This situation could have been handled a lot differently but he seems more interested in managing customers then interacting with them. Also, the digital ordering doesnt have special instructions so I cant request that my eggs be cooked with salt and pepper. I did not order food and refuse to return to the restaurant. It seems like he applied for a back office, non-interactive job and walks in everyday with a disdain for customers. I dont expect enthusiasm but I do expect for myself and other patrons to be respected and serviced on a transactional basis at the least. This restaurant is a 2-min walk from my house and Id rather drive somewhere else just to avoid the cashier.

Ya’ll need to learn that the customer that is there in person is always first. The guy that seemed like the manager on duty at 10:00 was super blunt and rude. (bald white guy as referred to in other terrible reviews). He seemed irritated to be taking my order and was demanding with everyone coming in even yelling at times. He was hanging up on customers that called after having a rude tone with their question. I love rise at other locations i’ve been to, this was just a super bad experience. I waited for a long time which is understandable but wouldn’t be as bad if the service wasn’t terrible. I work in customer service too and I would never act the way he did. I would say his name but he didn’t have a name tag. He does not need to be a manager. I have no idea how y’all have so many one star reviews singling him out and have not fired him. (the only good interactions i saw were between a woman that was cooking and a couple customers, she is good and deserves a promotion) but not to mention only one worker was wearing a mask when there is a mandatory mask order in Raleigh!! Y’all- don’t go here unless you expect to be dissatisfied with the customer service in every way possible.

Our food at the Cameron Village location was fine, the only problem I had was the way we were instructed to order. When we walked into Rise, we were told to place our order on the kiosk. There was no other customers in the store but us. We were confused why we would have to use a kiosk since they were not busy, and especially since we all were in the middle of COVID-19? While we were trying to figure out how to use the kiosk, another customer came in and the lady took their order in a matter of seconds. This makes zero sense. When we are paying $5-$6 per sandwich I dont want to enter the order myself. I feel like thats what Im paying you to do. Very frustrating. Not sure if we will be back.

When Rise first opened, I thought the service and food were excellent, however lately, they seem to be losing their edge. I went today and waited 9 minutes for a biscuit with only 4 other customers there. I first got my order, but was missing the side of cheddar tots as well and had to go back to the counter to ask. I finally got second half of my order, but then got to work and found out theyd given me a chicken biscuit instead of a bacon, egg, and cheese. They were also out of creamer for coffee, but didnt say so until after Id placed my order. While I was waiting, I watched them give an order to the wrong person (both customers had the same name but with different last initials, which they ask for when taking names for this reason). Then the worker proceeded to run out of the restaurant to get the order back from the wrong customer and then just handed it straight to the original customer, when it looked like itd been touched or rummaged through.I witnessed the manager scolding the employees as well, saying We only have 5 orders right now and yall almost lose your minds. Ive tried to be calm and patient, but I just dont know. To be fair though, another order was placed with the name Mason remake and I watched the manager go and speak to the customer saying he realized the same mistake had happened before and apologized for continuing to mess up his order. Overall, I was just really unimpressed today and may not go back again.

Its alright. Price point is a little high for quantity of food and options are somewhat limited. Its good, but nothing to go outta your way for imo. One specific critique, the girl who takes your order tells you if you want lettuce and tomato on your sandwich you have to put it on yourself. Which is so bizarre because they literally make the sandwiches from scratch. The chef, who was very personable, corrected things afterwards and said they should be putting it on for you when they make it so she would need some correction in training on that. Also, her customer service was very flat like she could care less about being there. A smile goes a long way. :-)

To make things more efficient, I have tried calling the store to place my order on my way there. This way, the food can be cooking while Im en route, and once I arrive, I can simply pay and walk out with my food. Efficient! In and out! You can do this with literally *any* other restaurant in Cameron Village. But, every time I call, I get this guy Tim on the phone. Tim refuses to take orders over the phone and insists theres no line and to just come in. Each time, when I get there, a line has appeared, because, go figure, other people exist, and want to eat there in the mornings. Tim and his team at Rise in Cameron Village were easy to work with and did a great job preparing, delivering, and even setting up the donuts on the tiers and platters we provided. I found the biscuit pretty small considering it was nearly $6......the cheddar potatoes are basically over sized tater tots, and you have to spend nearly $3 just for 4 of them.....and its $3 for a basic coffee, they claim free refills....which is pretty funny considering its a grab and go joint with no seat down seating. An undersized biscuit, pitiful side portion and coffee cost $11.80......way overpriced for what it is. It tasted OK, but certainly not worth the money. Left hungry and went and got a slice of pizza. Despite hearing great things from other people about Rise, I was unimpressed. The biggest disappointment was the INSANE price. My meal was $8 and change for ONE biscuit and a tea to drink, which came in a bottle. After paying that much for breakfast I was fully expecting to be blown away by the food, and I was not. The biscuit was so dry my mouth hurt after taking bites. I had the honey chicken on a classic buttermilk biscuit. The chicken was okay but really had no flavor other than being plain ole fried. The Minute Maid tea they gave me in a bottle was nasty.TLDR: The biscuit was dry and overpriced. I do not recommend Rise. Through the whole process David, the manager was on top of it, called me like he promised to and ended up hand delivering our food! Most people will just offer you a refund and an apology but it was sooooo ahhhhmazing to see a manager actually care and he knew we wanted those hashpuppies and made it happen! Awesome customer service David! Love love their food and the employees at Rise Cameron Village!

Great biscuits and donuts. Even with a line out the door never takes more than 10 minutes. Cant get enough of the chicken biscuit with avacado and white cheddar... Makes it hard to not Branch out to the rest of the menu.
