Recently was discriminated upon due to a medical condition at this store. An older guy with white hair, I believe to be the same guy mentioned in a comment below, would not ring me up because I have a medical exemption from wearing a mask. The problem with this is, that the patron right in front of me checked out and did not have a mask on either. The store clerk did not say a word to him and served the patron without hesitation or question. When I approached he asked why I wasn’t wearing a mask and I replied that I have a medical exemption and was vaccinated. He then replied that he didn’t care and that I should be wearing a mask regardless. Of which I replied, “well I guess we have different beliefs.” It was at this moment he decided not to serve me.His issue was NOT with me not wearing a mask and he wasn’t expressing his concern for public health. Rather, it was him inserting his political views into a situation because he felt empowered for once. If he was really concerned about the masks and the public health his response to me mentioning how he served the guy before me that wasn’t wearing a mask wouldn’t have been “I don’t care about the guy before you, it’s what you said.” It’s sad that this country has become this divided that a fellow American won’t even ring you up for some booze so you can go enjoy your Friday night.

Visiting relatives in NC. Sticker shock: totally absurd pricing in the state controlled ABC stores. Another reason government should not be allowed to interfere in our marketplace. Republican legislature here is apparently not conservative as they claim to he. That said, this particular store carries a very good selection of bourbon and rye whiskey.

Previously the staff has been somewhat helpful over time however have always carried themselves with an air of attitude. This morning I went in, no other customers in the store grabbed 1x bottle and as I was10 from the counter an older dude with all white hair (no name tag) said I had to leave the store because I didnt have a mask on. I said I actually have an exemption for not wearing a mask he replied I dont care, In Raleigh everyone must wear a mask I said, oh, in Wake Forest they dont he said I dont care about Wake Forest, they should be wearing a mask I asked him did you just say Wake Forest should be wearing masks? He then said Yes, I feel sorry for everyone in Wake Forest, they all should be wearing masks, everyone should be wearing masks, I replied, so your not going to ring me up? to which he said No! and walked away. That state employees self-righteous political views should be kept to himself.

They hooked me up with a really cool bottle of Clase Azul Tequila. The store doesnt always have everything in stock but I believe thats more because of the NC liquor laws. Ill keep going back because the staff are usually friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.

Liquor stores should never run out of Remy 1738.....smh

Very welcoming staff as they were personable, knowledgeable about their products, and happy to assist. Unquestionable in-store cleanliness and a well rounded environment. There are enough reasons to continue returning to this location whenever Im in that area!

This ABC is kinda far away from my home, but I will go there because they have a wider variety of liquors that I look for. Very nice layout and nice helpful people.

The staff at this location went above and beyond that of County and government employees to provide a level of customer service that would surprise you as if they work in Private Industry. I enjoyed my shopping experience I was free to browse without any adverse conditions such as being followed throughout the store and suggestions were given to me by store employees very surprised very impressed I strongly recommend if youre in the Raleigh Wake County area to visit this location.

Neat, clean, organized, uncrowded, well stocked and easy parking. Also great place to get empty cartons.

I am not a liquor drinker, more of a beer and wine gal myself, so I needed some assistance in finding a present for a friend who loves gin. The employee who helped me was very patient and extremely helpful! Im very grateful for his assistance!

Wake County ABC stores are surprisingly well stocked and run. This one in North Ridge is better than most.

Christmas Eve Day. J-u-s-t a little bit busy. The bourbon I specifically wanted was only available in a larger size than my budget allowed. Huge variety of brands, so no problem making a substitution. Employees were friendly, helpful, and well informed. For a state-run retail business, NC ABC stores, at least the one near me, is vdry well managed.

I think people should be excited about where they work. If you don’t want to talk about the greatness that is Alcohol (when handled responsibly of course) then you should be working at a Toy-R-Us or a Belk. Saying “no, sorry” to every question I ask is not a appropriate response for someone who walked in excited to visit Sandy Forks ABC store.If you’re tired, don’t show up to work. I do not mind being upsold on anything especially alcohol, and I’m leaving empty handed. I guess I’ll go somewhere else, but if you were looking for help or assistance in this ABC place, you went to the wrong location. This is after I got great recommendations from all my friends in the area.I’ll check back, hope they revamp the staff for a more exciting experience.

This might be really the only ABC store I avoid. I went in with my friend and we grabbed what we wanted to buy. When I got to the counter the guy was rude as hell. He didnt say hi how are you no nothing. All he did was stare at me until I gave him my ID. I dont have any issues what so ever giving my ID because I work in an industry that we have to card people as well, but however what I dont like is when I let him know that my chip was malfunctioning and I needed to swipe my card. The debit card had my name on it and picture, but even with that he still had a problem with it. The other cashier even told him I could swipe my card even if it was malfunctioning as long as my ID and debit card matched and they did! But the guy didnt care! All he did was continue to try to guard the card reader like I was going to steal it. He was definitely the worst person I have ever encountered. He should honestly not even work there if he cant be friendly and give nice customer service!

Ive always loved this liquor store in relation to the others in North Raleigh/Wake Forest. The selection is large; staff is friendly and efficient. That is, until a recent Saturday night encounter with a white male cashier whom Ive never seen there before but who is clearly either a racist or an extremely bitter and unhappy person. I wish I had gotten his name but my husband convinced me not to engage him in a confrontation. If he doesnt like his job and has a problem serving people of a certain ethnicity then I suggest he find some other employment. Preferably one that doesnt deal directly with the public because his attitude is atrocious.

I understand its state law, but as a 31 year old with a great deal of white hair, its frustrating my purchase of alcohol being denied due to an expired ID. I have never had a drivers license and think it a little too much to ask me to spend $30 at the DMV (which is already a pain to get to and back, not having said license) to prove I am who I am and of legal drinking age -- especially when it is more than apparent I am over 21. Anyway, I get its law and they are required by law to refuse sale in such a context. Wishing I had some alternative option, though.

Shelves well stocked. Cashiers aggressively checking you out like waiting is a global enemy. Cant ask for more from an ABC store.Could use a bit more parking though.

Hands down best ABC store in Wake County, and arguably the biggest and best in the state. This is a large liquor store with a huge, diverse selection of liquor. If they dont have it, they can probably get it. The employee are super friendly.

My buddy Vlad was in the market for a vowel to soften up his slavic surname when we stumbled upon the Wake County ABC store. What an unexpected surprise. More hard spirits than a Hatian cemetery. It looked like my grandmas formal sitting room with so many bottles of cure all (croup to angina)...no prescription necessary...and they no longer ask for proof of your church denomination! If you are forced to purchase a gift for you heathen yankee boss or in-laws...or need a special ingredient for an exotic recipe (the alcohol cooks out you know) then I highly recommend the Wake County ABC store.
