I went in to Clayton Homes in Garner North Carolina to inquire about a purchase on a double wide. The sales associate informed me that it would take up to a year with everything going on due to the pandemic. Before leaving she did tell me of a property that was already in the works when the potential buyer had to back out. I told her that I would be interested and fill out an application. Before filling out the application a deposit was required to hold the house. This is what I was told by the sales associate that a deposit holes the house so others cant purchase it .The deposit was made, application was ran & I was a few points short from getting approval that day but was assured by the finance lady that I needed to pay off a credit card to boost the score. Once it generated back through the credit bureau she would pull my credit again to get approved for the home. While I was waiting for the credit bureau to regenerate the paid off credit card I was not informed that the mobile home company could take another deposit an application for the home. I found out two days before the credit bureau regenerated that the home had already been pre-approved for another buyer I just want others to know how disrespectful I think this company is, NO morals & NO integrity. Couldnt even pick up the phone and make a simple phone call to let people know the house goes back on the market for other potential buyers if your not approved the first time. I was under the impression that being I had put a deposit down, the house was on hold for me and I could wait for the score to go up. Not the case at all. I have turned down other potential offers thinking that Clayton home had my back and that I would be approved for this home. Now my kids and I have to wait longer for a home and I wasted two months trusting someone that didnt have my interest at heart. That 2 months could have been 2 out of the 12 I now have to wait. Pray you dont get screwed Buy Mobile Home sellers.

Originally we were frustrated to say the least. But we will say that through the many barriers and battles the dream we had is becoming reality. In the end things worked out. I would just say make sure there is clarity and understanding as in anything. Overall with the frustrations things work out in the end with time. The team was helpful and listened after discussion back and forth. We are great full for the team coming together with a plan in the end and working together. Despite barriers I would recommend them and due diligence to reach the agreement. Friendly staff. Communication was tough at times but worked out.

This review is for the Raleigh office only. Was contacted by rep when I requested information online. He was on vacation when I came to look at the homes and I spoke to 2 women in the office. Left my information with them because she was working with someone else and told me there was no need to wait around, they would contact me. I never received a phone call back. Very disappointing. I went to Oakwood in Burlington and had a great experience. I’ll be doing business with them instead.

We are enjoying our new 2021 home from Clayton Homes in Raleigh! We appreciate the attention to detail and the friendly interactions with our family. Everyone from Lisa to Jackie to Karl and his crew to George to Stephen. We say “Thank You!” to helping us with a new start in our lives and a dream coming to fruition.

I went to this place with high hopes it was nothing over than unprofessional I get it’s open house Saturday but I made a appointment and told them what homes I wanted to look at they were not there they wanted me to start paperwork without seeing the house they told me I couldn’t get the home I was looking for until next year I called every single one of their stores to see if the house was in stock to see what it looked like no one answered the phone I left a message and go no call back the only person that was helpful was the number on the website

I visited today during open house I was greeted by Mrs.Jackie she was helpful and very informative. She was also very kind, I look forward to working with her to purchase my future home.

I would give these people no stars if I could. I called to schedule a time to look at models and meet with someone, explaining that I was in town for work. They refused to schedule a time for me to come in. Stating that they were only open on Saturdays for open houses for buyers without a clear plan. Take your business elsewhere.

I purchased my first home with Clayton homes and I could not be happier with how smooth the process was. They helped me every step of the way and answered every question I had. Rick and Robert were awesome with the whole process from start to finish. Even after my house was delivered they still checked in on me to make sure I was pleased with everything. I highly recommend going to see them if you are looking to purchase a home! Rick is a great salesman and knows his information, he goes out of his way to make sure his clients are satisfied!

My husband and I went there this past Saturday. Jackie Taylor was the agent assisting us. She was Funny, great sense of humor, but also informative and professional. She showed us 3 homes and we loved all 3. She was able to answer our questions and guide us in the right direction. Not pushy or forceful at all. We decided to do the paperwork right then and there. Not sure if a lender has approved us yet, as we won’t know until Thursday. Nevertheless, We will do what needs to be done to get into one of their beautiful homes. I went to Clayton homes, as a first time home buyer with so many questions, and I was greeted by Robert B. who patiently answered my many questions and showed me and my Fiance a few models he thought would work well for my family needs. He asked all the right questions and he was very professional. I absolutely fell in love with the units shown and left with homework towards the right steps to make it a reality.

I was both nervous and excited when I walked in Clayton Homes. I had previously met Jackie when I inquired about a home already set up. The entire staff was friendly and inviting. I asked Jackie if I could look at the homes, and had no problem letting me look. When I described what I was looking for, she took me straight to the one I purchased!! It was fun to look at, and to dream of being in it. She knew how excited I was, and made everything effort to show my sons what I was excited about. My 17 year old was about to leave for Basic Training, so I was emotional about everything!! The paperwork was easy for me to understand, and Jackie kept in touch to keep me at ease while I was waiting on my loan approval. In less than six weeks, my oldest son and I were moving in, and having fun decorating. My youngest came home from Basic to find his new room, and a home to invite his new brothers. Jackie is fun, loving, and knows no strangers. I would recommend Clayton Homes and Jackie to anyone. Shes family to us now.

Started over 3 weeks ago. On a Wednesday a realtor recommend Rick at Clayton Homes in Raleigh. She called and asked him to come look at the property to give us an idea of the best place to put a home. He told her we needed to come and apply first. So we took a day off and did just that. Heard back from Vanderbilt the following Monday. Rick called my husband and said he saw we were approved and would go look at the land he would call us back on Wednesday. No call. We called Thursday said he was too busy to go look or call back but he would. Friday we called him, left a message with Jackie. No call back. Saturday we go there. He showed us a double wide( we wanted a modular), he still hadnt went to look at property. He got Bob to show us on a computer where we could put it. Said they would go look at property and figure out payments and call on Monday. No call. Wednesday (2 weeks in) we called them. They asked if we were still interested in the land. What? Seriously?. They would call Vanderbilt and get back to us. then they called the realtor with an offer for the land (still never looked at it). Owner immediately counter offered same day. No word from Rick for two days about the offer. my husband talked to Bob he was going to call back Friday morning. No call. Friday afternoon I called Vanderbilt. They had yet to hear back from them. Now over 3 weeks and still no word from anyone at Clayton homes. They just will not call you back. Loan is good for 3 months. that leaves us 2 months to find a home we like and sell the one we are in. I would advise everyone to avoid this place like the plague.UPDATEWas contacted the call home office the discuss my complaint. They never returned my call either

Place is great! Jackie Taylor helped me and my wife, we went in there just to get some options on buying our first house and she made our experience amazing. The sales people are very nice and accommodating, but the quality of the home leaves much to be desired. I purchased a modular home thinking it would be the same as a stick built home but its not. Nothing in the home is standard -- fixtures, plumbing, electrical, doors -- so dont expect to go to Home Depot for a quick plumbing fix. Nothing makes sense and it causes extra frustration on every level. If I had to do it over, I would talk to an actual builder.

I purchased my home from the Raleigh, NC location in late August. From the very beginning and throughout the process, these members of the sales/maintenance team; Jackie, Lisa and George, have worked tirelessly to help me get into my home. The first hurdle was getting permits and inspections right at the time when the city was using a new system and then Hurricane Florence passed through. Lisa worked to get my house inspected and Jackie got it delivered to site just before Florence came through. As inspections were passed, George spearheaded the repair process and with some help from others, he has completed every repair that was needed. Once an issue was identified, it was promptly addressed. I always felt Jackie, Lisa and George were doing all they could to make this experience as stress free as possible and I am very happy with the service I have received from this Raleigh team.

Robert Bulla was awesome. Went here with a friend whos in the process of purchasing a house. He set her at ease enlightened both of us with knowledge and we were both very impressed. I suggest anyone and everyone to come visit the lot and check out all that they have. You will not be disappointed and they have something for everyones budget. If I was purchasing a home I will be back myself. 2 thumbs up all the way around.

DONT EVER BUY FROM THEM. THE COMMUNICATION IS GREAT IN THE BEGINNING THEN NOTHING. ROBERT IS JUST AN AWFUL SALES MAN ALL AROUND. NOT GIVEN WHAT WE WERE PROMISED. THEN CALLED MY HUSBAND AND ASKED WHY HE GAVE HIM A BAD REVIEW....REALLY?!

I bought a home from them in 2016. The whole experience was frustrating. They never followed through to ensure I received what I wanted. Then the AC unit didn’t last for one year. 6 months in it started to fail. They sent their warranty tech out who said the builder failed to put enough freon in the new unit. Needless to say, 6 months later, after the warranty was expired, it wasn’t working again. Hired my own technician who said the unit had multiple leaks, was not repairable, and had to be replaced. Bottom line: Over priced for terrible quality. Even worse customer service.

I went here in the past was wanting to buy a home with the company never heard back I had to be the one calling to get answers. My parents went as here as well was trying to get home with the company and they were supposed to get a call in a week or two and my mom always called and they said someone will return the call to you and no one ever did. Bad customer service! Homes are too expensive for the cheap material inside the homes. I do not recommend anyone buying a home here.

Jackie was GREAT!! My wife and I stopped up on a busy Saturday afternoon, and were literally just looking with little to no intentions to buy. Jackie still was very patient, took her time, showed us multiple houses and floor plans and was extremely proffesional. And she may have convinced us to sell our current home!! All the other staff we ran into were just as curteous and prompt, and overall it was a GREAT experience.

Although we haven’t made our decision yet, Rick Garloff left us with a pleasant reminder that they’re a top pick.He was resourceful and polite. I’ll be sure to ask for him when we do come back!

Mr. Robert Bulla was a blessing to our family by helping me buy my first home! My family was unfortunately a part of the Gentrification process in Durham NC and was told we had to leave our rental home ASAP not having but 60 days to transition to the overly price housing in the Triangle area. Mr Bulla told me he would help in any way he could so I would be a home owner and that he did!!! I have to say it was a roller coaster ride being put out of your home without enough planning time. But Clayton Homes, Robert Bulla and the team came to the rescue!!! Thanks so much again!

I’ve been trying to reach someone for 3 months now. Leaving voicemails for each extension and when I finally did get someone to answer he wasn’t very pleasant. I’ll try another location or just a different company. I believe all the negative reviews up here. Do better!

I tried to visit this location on Saturday May 21st. I have visited four other locations across NC. These other locations treated me very well and as if I own the place. I couldnt ask for better treatment. Upon entering the Raleigh location office, I was ignored. Not even a someone will be with you in a minute. When I finally got someones attention. I ask if the houses were open so I might see a few. His response was No, people come in on Saturdays and steal stuff from me all the time, so no, you will have to wait . I ask how long the wait would be. He said 10 to 15 minutes. I said that would be fine. To which his response in a very curt voice was excuse me, what did you say . Needless to say I left and wont be returning.I wouldnt give my business to someone that treats customers in this fashion

My experience so far with Clayton Homes... I started the process of buying a home with Clayton Homes back the 1st of May of this year. My VA loan went through with no problems (with the exception of Clayton Homes making a mistake with the county in filing paperwork for the perculation test that held up the approval of my mortgage by at least 4 weeks) and construction money was released by my mortgage company to start construction on my home on August 3rd. Now it is November 3rd and the only this that has been done in the construction of my home is that my lot has been cleared. No home is being built yet. No foundation has been poured. No services have been plumbed. Nothing... They tell me that they are waiting for engineering to finish my foundation plan. How long does it take to create a foundation plan? Especially for a house they already have plans for on their website. The claim of the video that they have in their showroom (in Raleigh, NC) is that they can build your custom built home in a matter of a couple of months vs stick built custom homes which take many months to complete. Let me just say that my experience is much different than what they portray in their showroom video. Take it from me, if you buy a home from Clayton Homes, you had better be a very patient person, because you can expect it to take a lot longer than what they claim. Ive been given a proposed completion date and closing on my home for the end of December. Im not holding my breath.11/30/16 Update. The frustration continues with my experience with Clayton Homes. Getting someone out to take care of warranty work is like pulling eye teeth. Do yourself a favor and bypass Clayton Homes if youre looking for a modular home. I heard good things about Nationwide. Check them out.10/29/18 Updating my review to 3 stars. The after the sale service has improved enough to warrant it.09/25/19 Updating my review again and reducing back to 2 stars. Never followed through on a promise made.

We went there and all houses were locked. We have been looking at mobile homes all day and all open. We went inside and asked to see houses and the guy said no i cant just let you go. You have to wait for me. So we did about 20 minutes. Then he wouldnt show us but 2 houses which were identical. Not impressed. Wont go back!!!
