This company is awful. Several bad experiences over the years. From placing an order and PAYING, only to drive there and they claim they sold the inventory. Call to place an order, they have to “check with warehouse and call you back.” Then they don’t call. Call back, “hey what happened to the phone call? Do you or don’t you have the boxes?” “Uhh, well it’s Monday...uhhh let me check with the warehouse and call you back in 5minutes.” Well, it’s FRIDAY and guess who hasn’t called. Try Best Price Boxes, they are much better and appreciate your business

Last time I used CPS, I got charged .40 per box on 4 x 4 x 4 and 32 ECT, not even heavy duty. If you buy here make sure you check what they are charging you because they are quick to price gouge. Highway Robbery - you can get these much cheaper online.Barry is and was the only reason I work with this company. Wont be buying boxes here unless I am in dire need. You can get them cheaper online and for a much lower price, even factoring in shipping. Ludicrous.
Co-founder Ralph answered my call, put me on hold until another associate picked up and put me on hold and another associate picked up and put me on hold for Ralph to finally pick up again and say I dont know you keep calling, we dont need your service and hung up on me. I would never want to do business with a company that treats potential vendors this way and wasted 11 minutes and 51 seconds of my day.
Was the worst experience I have ever had with a Budget third party company. I called a week prior to booking the largest box truck they had with a lift gate. Ralph the owner told me he had several available and he would go ahead and reserve one for me. I was moving a MS patient from Charlottesville, VA to Raleigh, NC. When I arrived to pick up the truck Ralph and his employees were unload boxes out of one of two 24ft box trucks with lift gates. The truck he had was fairly new looking and the other truck was not at all in renting condition. I ask the guy in the office which truck I was getting he said the raggedy one which I thought was a joke at first. As I go to pick up the truck. I turn the key and to start the truck. I let the truck run for a minute or so and the oil, engine and ABS light are all on and will not go off. Tom one of Ralphs employees tell me that the lights are always on and there is nothing wrong with the truck. I go to the back of the truck to see what else is wrong with the truck and open the door. Wood is missing from the rails, there is a large whole in the corner of the truck with duck tape holding the fiberglass together, and the floor of the truck has several chipped pieces. I thought I was getting pranked, but they reassure me that there is nothing wrong with the truck. Finally i get the truck back home and decide to call roadside assistance. The mechanic comes to me before I leave for Virginia and says This truck should not of been rented nor should it be on the road. He then says can I wait until they have another truck available and I said I leave at 4am in the morning for Virginia. He points out to me that the oil is leaking, the engine is miss firing, and there is a huge whole in the box of the truck (the duck tape). He then gives me the Emergency Roadside Assistance number and I let them intake operator know what is going on, the mechanic gets on the phone and also tells the operator that the truck shouldnt of been rented with all the damage on it.I wish i could show you all the video, but these photos will do.

I love this place!!! The owner is a bada** ex marine, so they run a pretty tight operation. They always have what we need, and if they do not typically carry it, they order it and we can have it in a few short days. Their prices beat any other supply store or online service. Barry is who I usually deal with, and he is so very kind, professional, and expedient in his services. Our company wont use anyone else.

The guy there for Budget Truck tried to scam me SMH
They are running a Budget Truck Rental Service there which is horrible! They gave me a broke truck I brought it back to them and their roadside service said that it was nothing wrong with it. Then when I took it back the check engine light came back on and began to lose pressure as I drove it. Then once I got to my destination and began to return the truck would only drive 5 miles per hour. I was almost 100 miles away from home and they never brought me a replacement truck or tried to accommodate me at all. It has been 5 days since my incident and I still have not gotten my $250 back. When I asked for support the guy running the store for Carolina Packing said that I should of gotten the insurance! WoW... Run from these people! DO not rent or buy anything from them because you will not get any support if anything goes wrong. They are money hungry and suck at customer service issues!.
Didnt meet the owner, but the other guy working there did a great job and really helped me. The only problem here was they moved in the last couple months and Google didnt show the right spot when trying to get there. They are at the end of a row of warehouses just north of where the dot currently is at 4013 Atlantic. Theyre at the end by the budget trucks. They did me right, but I didnt actually meet the owner (which by the way is a new owner as of a couple months ago so it might be a different person than some of the above reviews). Good luck moving...we all know it sucks.
Been buying boxes from these guys for several years for my confectionery business. Great personalities, great service, and the boxes are top notch. Never had any issues with them.
Barry is the man, he makes it happen, super easy to email ahead of time and pickup orders quickly.

I should have read the other two reviews. I am an owner of a firewood company and I needed shrink wrap. I called the order in. They insisted that I provide a credit card for the two cases. They never once explained that there are no returns and that there is a minimum order. They charged me $80 a case for shrink wrap that I can get ANYWHERE else for $30-$50 a case. When I arrived to pick it up, I tried to only take one case. They informed me that they had already charged my card and that there are NO RETURNS. I stated how can it be a return when I havent even picked it up yet? They said I had to take the two cases. I later tried to call the manager on the phone becuase I was upset and I felt I had been severely ripped off. I was told once again that there are no returns and that there is a minimum order of $150. It doesnt say that anywhere on their website under their terms. I pointed that out and he told me to shut up and stop my bitching and to bring it in since I was so concerned over the $50. He was going to still charge me $150 for one case of shrink wrap! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. I am going to keep the shrink wrap just because I dont want to go in and deal with such horribly rude people ever again.

EDIT: It has been five months of using U-Line with no issues. The owner here decided to give Carolina another shot to, again, try to save on shipping. We called on Wednesday to place our order. I have about 30 clients who are waiting on packages from us, and we need to get these out ASAP. They guaranteed our boxes by Tuesday of the following week. An employee spoke with them on Thursday, again, to verify Tuesday arrival, and we were on schedule. Yet, when Tuesday came, no delivery. We called them, and they assured us they would be here the following day. No delivery on Wednesday. We call them again, and they assure us they will be here the following day. At this point we ask them, how can I be sure they will be here tomorrow because you told me they would be here the last 2 days? He says they will be here. He doesnt know that we can hear the guy in the background saying he doesnt actually know if they will be on the truck for tomorrow delivery. HOW FRUSTERATING! We ordered from U-Line, and they will be overnighted, as usual. We will be refusing the order from Carolina and NEVER using them again. If we treated our clients the way they treat us, wed be out of business.I am very disappointed with this company. I work for a small business in Raleigh, and I oversee the shipping department. Weve shipped thousands of packages over the last year. Originally we were using U-Line, but their shipping charges were so expensive. We switched over to Carolina to save on shipping charges and to support a local small business. Our boxes would takes weeks to be delivered and when they were finally delivered, after several calls, it was by a rude employee. When we dont get our boxes on time, our clients dont get their orders on time. It makes my company look bad. We pride ourselves on our excellent customer service and turn around time, and when we dont have boxes to ship our orders out with, it presents a challenge. Its not just the amount of time it takes to get the boxes. The customer service is less than satisfactory. Especially since they boast about their customer service on their website. We have been promised delivery times that never happened. We have been promised return phone calls and never received them. This has happened multiple times. As of today we have decided to discontinue our work with Carolina and instead absorb the costs of shipping with U-Line. At least this way we can be confident we will receive the right order, on-time, with a company that has great customer service.I hope they read some of these reviews and address the issues. We would much rather support a local small business, but until these issues are resolved we dont have the option.
Promised delivery date and every day it changed to the next day. They dont care and just blame the trucking companies. How can you confirm a delivery date and then every day say no it will be tomorrow. How does a company like that stay in business.
I cannot even put a star for this company. The owner is completely rude and unprofessional. I ordered 2, 10 lbs of white crinkle paper over the phone, they told me that it would arrive to their warehouse in 3 or 4 days and they would call me when the items were ready for pickup. By Tuesday I had not received any calls, so I called to find out what had happened to my order, and they told me that was coming the following day, I had a tradeshow that week so it was too late for me to pick up the boxes, I then asked them to ship it to the trade show location, the show was 10 days long and I never received my order. Back in Raleigh, almost a month after I made my order, I went to pick up my boxes to their warehouse and to my surprise the paper was pink instead of white!The owner told me that this is what he had received and if I didnt want it was ok, he was not going to waste time on a $60 order and that I should try ordering from Uline, then he hung up on me.Great way to conduct a business Mr. Carolina Packaging!
Rented a trucks fora one way trip and showed up at 4:15 and didnt have any issues. As far as renting a truck didnt have any issues and will use them again.
Been buying packaging from this outfit for 18 years. They ship us on a weekly basis boxes, bubblewrap, tape and stretch film. I dont need packaging expertise, they provide it. Stretch film is full gauge and lasts us twice as long. We recently started using there warehousing program for our printed boxes and they deliver same day as ordered.
BE CAUTIOUS! It clearly states on their website We Guarantee the Best Price and Service. I told them that ULINEs pricing was much better, but I wanted to support a local business. I was told by Ralph that CPS would match ULINEs prices. After picking up a recent order for a bundle of shipping boxes, I noticed a higher price on my invoice. I asked my sales rep about it and was told Industry wide price increase. Uline lags about 2-3 months behind. Tks Then, I checked the actual boxes I had and CPS had substituted a lower grade box that ULINE was selling for .78, and CPS price was .99. 20% higher is not the best price!I dont have a problem with paying a bit more, but I do have a problem with backdoor price increases, and pushing inferior grade boxes on me so CPS can make more money. If I wanted a 32 ECT lightweight box, I would have ordered it. When I addressed this with my sales rep I was told Thats the best we can do. If you cant use, bring them back for a full refund. Thats it. No apology for giving me the wrong one or why their Guaranteed lowest price doesnt really mean guaranteed. Also, the entire staff (the 3 persons Ive dealt with) are not too proficient at customer service.Now, Im left with no option other than go back to ULINE. The quality of their boxes is better, their customer service is far superior and I always get what I order.
Ralph was extremely rude when I showed up to pick up the moving truck I had a reservation for. He told me he didnt know when it would arrive but I was welcome to stand around and wait. Even though they were closing in 10 minutes. I then found I have never had such poor customer service or rude treatment from a human being. Never do business with this company or individual.
Rented a 16 foot Budget Rental truck here. It worked very well for our purpose.
