I ordered some light bulbs from Kirkman Lanterns. Prior to finding this Company, I searched on Amazon, local light/lamp retailers. No luck!!! Finally, a friend recommended Kirkman Lanterns. I found the perfect bulbs with the help of a charming Lady. She even sent me a picture of the item with the dimension.

W.T. Kirkman was something I stumbled upon online while diligently seeking out a source for high quality and actually daily use working kerosene lamps and lanterns. Not some decorations or cheap reproductions, but the real thing. I was born and raised with kerosene lanterns and lamps. Yes, we had electricity at home, but my grandparents home still had the original wood burning stove in the kitchen despite electricity coming of age and oil lamps were never out of fashion in favor of electric conversions. Be it working outside at night, in the barn with the cattle, or when the power went out, the kerosene lamps and lanterns always had their place. Still do today.W.T. Kirkman proved that they produce the real product and I have the experience to know the difference. Ive purchased two from W.T. Kirkman so far and am looking at four to five more in the near future. Mr. Kirkman is a fine representative and craftsman. I highly recommend W.T. Kirkman.Edit: 12 June 2018: Here we are 5 months after my initial post and Kirkman is no disappointment. I ordered a very special lamp from W.T. Kirkman to adorn our home. It has its own permanent bracket to mount to the wall and the lamp itself is a custom build with an exquisite vintage burner, that no one makes today, purposefully for mounting the chimney to the burner on a hinge instead of having to lift the chimney off and back on again for regular use and cleaning. Ask Mr. Kirkman about it, you cant go wrong. The lamp is so good and so aesthetically pleasing that Ill be ordering at least four more hopefully this summer. One for each room. Everyone who sees it remarks of how beautiful it is and the comforting setting it makes whether it is lit or not.The lamp is a custom work of the:W.T. Kirkman No. 6801 D&RGW Pattern Caboose Wall Lamp.The lamp is instead in all brass and the burner has been replaced with a very special, vintage, P&A Manufacturing Company burner that makes life so much easier, safer, and of course requires a custom made chimney that Mr. Kirkman has assured me he has a vast stocking of for those just in case the not so great things happen.Note: The Plume and Atwood (P&A) plant was destroyed in 1955 during a massive flood and never reopened. I dont know the manufacture date of the burner, but I suspect it was long before 1955, possibly many decades before. Mr. Kirkman managed to get very lucky in finding some of these excellent vintage burners, brand new, never been unpackaged.I tested the new lamp Mr. Kirkman built for me just to see how it would work out. Not only does it look perfect, with the flame turned down to its lowest I managed to use it as a night light for the hallway, bathroom, and laundry room for just over 5 days straight and thats burning 24 hours a day for 5 days, never extinguished, before the kerosene in the font finally ran out. Even the wind from the outside when the door was opened never bothered it. A real trooper. The design is such that when installed it makes for much added safety in earthquake prone areas such as here in California and we even had a 3.5 magnitude earthquake just to test it. Passed with flying colors! The lamp never budged from its mounting and the chimney remained secure. Exactly what I wanted. Ive supplied a picture of it mounted in our home in the hallway where it now permanently resides and I can hardly wait to see what the rest will look like mounted on pure white walls in the rest of our home. Excellent lighting.Update: 16 July 2019. I now have two of these lamps and will be calling today to order the third of five. Suffice it to say that they both handled our very recent 7.1 earthquake with flying colors. Plus the endless mind numbing aftershocks. Well done W.T. Kirkman.

I have order a number of oil lamps over many years from W.T. Kirkman. All of the lamps are in excellent new condition and always arrive on time. They are well package an arrive with no breakage. I now live in Mexico where power outages are not unknown. I have several W. T. Kirkman cold-blast lanterns and sourced the fuel from the US. These are so much better than candles or plain oil lamps in terms of brightness and duration. Woody Kirkman has been very helpful about what to order as there a number of different lamp oil providers, all claiming to be best, and he was able to explain why I should use one over the other. Highly recommended. The lanterns are reasonably priced given the quality and look good, too.

I have been customer for a long time buying parts for my various restoration projects. Always great service.I recently purchased a custom built brass tubular lantern, and it is amazing. The attention to detail outstanding. One of my prized lanterns.

Everything was perfect. We installed the new missing red glass in an old family-owned lanterns. However, we were unable to utilize the rubber flange because we couldnt get it stretched. If there is a trick to doing this or if it requires a special tool, it would be helpful to include a how to sheet in the flange packet.

I ordered a Blizzard and some lantern oil for it. The products came very quickly. The lantern is high quality and met all my expectations for this model of high output lantern. The oil is of high quality and burns without smoke so that a large, illuminating flame can be maintained. Best of all, the oil doesnt have an objectionable smell. Just yesterday I returned from a camping trip where I used both my new Dietz Blizzard and an older V&O Blizzard. They provided outstanding and appropriate lighting around the campfire and lit up the area so brightly, they had to be moved off to the sides. The hue of a real flame quietly and safely burning inside a glass and metal lamp just cant be reproduced by modern LED lighting or a pressurized mantel lamp. I couldnt be more pleased with the service or the products or how they performed at camp.

Superb. Purchased an Aladdin and some parts from Kirkman in the U.S. (Im in the U.K.). Was cautious about ordering from far away but order was dispatched within three days despite my credit card company dithering. Took just three days to get from California to London; customs took longer than that. Packaging was good too, nothing broken. Lamps working nicely. Customs declaration filled in correctly. All good. Will be ordering another Aladdin from them as soon as finances permit.

I am a raving fan of W.T. Kirkman. Woody and Dawn are both awesome, always helpful, patient and pleasant. Woody is an absolute master expert in the lantern world, from his knowledge of its history to his skills as a lantern maker, and a really nice guy.I was having a problem once with a wick I had bought for a center-draft lamp, thinking I knew what I was doing. Went around and around my issue with Dawn, and I was still confused. Next thing I knew, Woody called me, solved my problem and helped me see how I caused it. They are both such a pleasure to deal with.

Was looking for a couple of lanterns for friends who live in the country. Found some in a catalog but they were brass plated and the plating apparently had problems so I stated looking.I found W.T. Kirkman who had a very similar product that is solid brass for less money. I bought it. The quality is quite impressive!Just a great company with great products!

Products are good but order processing has been slow the past 2 orders. Previous order was for one pair of common sized wicks and the most recent order was for 1 burner cap. Latest order was placed on August 13th and didn’t receive the shipping confirmation until August 19th.

Im kind of a get back to basics kind of guy. I love camping and everything that goes with the outside experience. I also know that power issues happen and the knowledge I have from camping prepares me to take care of my family in a outage situation. I own five oil lamps from WT Kirkman Co. Every lamp is high quality and will provide the light I need in an emergency. Sometimes the old proven ways are worth considering when it come to prolonged power outages. Relying on battery flashlights will only last so long. Be smart... Stock lamp oil, quality lamps and be prepared for the next emergency.

I live in North Carolina. I originally bought this reproduction hurricane lamp for decoration. However, we recently went through the devastated hurricanes Florence and Matthew. I lost my power on multiple occasions, and was amazed at how much light this Kirkman Lantern is able to provide. Not only a beautiful testament to a historical period, but functional today as well!

We experience power outages of long duration every winter, a consequence of living way out here. We use glass kerosene lamps but they are not easy or very safe to carry about. The Dietz No. 8 seemed to me to be the right combo of size, capacity and output. The lantern is as good as you can get and W.T. Kirkman shipped it quickly and safely. Im am now trying to invent reasons for another lantern purchase.

I have a Dressel Caboose Lantern. I searched for nearly 5 years for a sleeve for mounting the light. I thought I am going to have to go a railroad salvage yard and ask to take one off a Caboose. I was stumped. Then I discovered W.T. Kirkman. And they had just what I wanted. Shipped and now installed.

I brought 2 oil lanterns because I seem cursed with power outages during storms that hit my area. Once for 11 days and again for 13 days. I had battery operated lanterns which of course did not last long, but now with the ones I got from Kirkman I do not have to worry about batteries. They provide light all night long, they even provide some warmth on a cool night. They are great. I plan on getting to more as part of my emergency preparedness kit.

Ordered 3 pre-wired electrified lanterns to give as a gift to my in laws this past Christmas. Unfortunately my father in law had already built his wagon wheel up. So I needed the lantern and mount to match what he had already started.I called to inquire if I could get them assembled the way needed and if they would arrive on time. They absolutely know what they are doing and it was actually fairly easy to place the order over the phone. By description they knew what the mount needed to be and suggested what I should order. We love the Kirkman lanterns. They are inexpensive and well-made. They are excellent means of light during emergencies or just for ambiance.

Kirkland lanterns are excellent. Why they sell the cheap, poorly made Chinese lanterns is beyond me..of course if your customers want cheap you have to give them cheap. Witness Walmarts success! Good company.

Awesome looking and functional lanterns. I use them for ambient lighting for the walkway to our backyard fire pit. They add to the rustic, outdoorsy feel.I will be ordering more in the near future!!
