Ramsey outdoor has always been great! I live locally and mainly use their hunting department. Stock is always great. Ammo even is coming back. They have a very nice selection of firearms for sale. Always walk in to smiling faces while Ron and the team are there. They are ready to help with pretty much anything you could need. They have helped me make purchasing decisions(which I am very glad I took their advice on) whether it be something they have in stock or even tell you if they think you may have a better option elsewhere which I sincerely appreciate. It’s not just a typical sale department. They actually care that you are happy with what you end up going with and that is hard to find these days. I will continue to go back for years to come as my firearm collection is always growing and love that I have this team for the advice and the supplies should I need anything.

Best local resource for Scout gear and apparel. Theres a whole section at the back of the store with books/merit badge pamphlets, uniform items, backpacking/camping gear and a knowledgeable employee who can tell you which items are needed for your troop/pack.

Store looks great. They have integrated some of the camping items to the front of the store where the clothing is. The store flows better now and is much more inviting. I actually ended up buying a daypack that I would never had seen if it was still in the back.The website now looks great. The online store is awesome and fully representative of what is in stock.I needed to do a special order. There was no upcharge for this. There was no issue at all. Evan took my order happily, called me when it came in, which by the way was almost a week quicker than anticipated, and even still offered the $25 off $100 for the special order item.Listen, I always shop locally and target the smaller places. Ramsey Outdoor has quality products (Merrell, Keen, Patagonia, etc) and never fails to have my size or my color. They truly do understand their clientele. I believe that this is because they are local too.Good job guys.

Prices are a little above average,but you get what you pay for with excellent service and folks who know what they are doing. Whether you are new at the sport or an old hand, these folk will help you.

Bought an expensive Shimano rod there snapped the first day I got it casting then snapped a month later catching a 4lb bass called and spoke with the manager and the manager Alex was super rude and said it was my fault and insinuating it was my fault twice, I’ve spent thousands of dollars there, and the fact they speak to customers like that is beyond me they won’t ever get my money again

The staff were very helpful and professional. They answered every question I had. They also gave me options in what I was looking to buy. I was not in the store long before I was asked if i needed help. The fishing department especially were a great help. I was not kayak shopping and they still took the time to explain about the different kayaks, prices and details of each kayak. I was really impressed by the service I got. Thanks. Compelled to provide an honest review because its worth pointing out the difference in shopping here for kayaks, as opposed to other stores. Two reasons why I felt the need to shop here: 1) support local businesses, 2) only place to still have Hobie products in stock at the time of this review.As for service, not much can be said about it. I came here knowing more about the products than the sales rep and found myself having conversations with other clientele on the features of each kayak and being more informed of upgrades, etc, than the people working there. This happened at least twice while I visited in store. Sad that I probably sold kayaks for them, but whatever.Second, I put my name down for a kayak and was told I was going to be contacted upon arrival but never got called. It wasnt until I followed up did I find out it was, in fact, in stock and a delivery had come in. Even with referencing my name, it seems that my reservation went out the window. With a high demand product of pedal kayaks, I would have been SOL if I didnt call numerous times to check.Third, I came to pick up the kayak but it did not come assembled, which is a surprise as Ive bought 2 other Hobie Kayaks from Empire Kayaks in Island Park, NY and it was all set up ready to load. Not here! I was asked if I would like it assembled and clearly the obvious answer is, Yes. First of all, why would anyone say No? But what irked me is that this now caused me to waste time for it to be done. Again, my name was on the list, so the expectation is that the product would be ready for pick up. The excuse here was that the deliveries come this way. Youre a HOBIE authorized dealer, and Im certain, thats not how they do business.Lastly, I had been given a discount on other accessories when I purchased from another store for a large kayak purchase. Apparently they have something similar but was informed that the kayak I bought does not qualify, regardless of the $1800 price point. I guess, Id have to make it past the $3k mark to get that discount. From a sales perspective, this is just horrible business. While I was in the market to buy more accessories, I felt deterred from doing so. These incentives amount to more sales in the long run, but clearly they lose out. Double thumbs down. My business goes elsewhere.P.S. just some of the finer points surrounding customer service. I was given tie downs to put on the roof of my car when I took home my kayaks from ANOTHER store, as a courtesy. Ramsey Outdoor asks you to buy some or bring your own. I cant believe that after spending close to 2k on a product, they cant bother to hand you a $7 strap to help you on your way. Certainly, another sore spot here.Only reason why it got the stars is because they had a high demand product available. Apart from the availability and convenience (which his solely based on proximity to where I live), I dont think I will make another large purchase from this store again. How am I incentivized to do so? Im not. Next time, Id prefer to go back to Empire Kayaks or buy from REI where I can, at the very least get some dividends back from an expensive item.***update *** Initially gave 2 stars, now demoted to 1 star. At the time I picked up the kayak, I specifically asked for the paperwork on the boat, warranty, etc. I have 2 other Hobies, so I know what to look for. He (Peter) assured me it was inside the hull of the kayak but it was NOT. Upon taking the kayak off the car I come to find nothing but an allen key that he left inside which made the drive home miserable.. I refuse to make a 3rd trip to the store for yet another mistake. WORST experience ever and Im seeing if it can get even worse...

Ramsey Outdoor has been at its location on Rt 17 for so may years that I sometimes forget what a great shop it is. They have a massive selection of outdoors and performance oriented clothing, as well as sporting, fishing and hunting supplies and gear. Its a great place with helpful staff.

Legendary.My son and I are beginning a journey together, as we want to have an activity we can grow into. We have been planning a while, during the pandemic, and looked online. We made lists and sampled the big retailers...Today we drove to Ramsey outdoor. Only because its reputation precedes itself. 1 hour 15 min trip (each way). TOTALLY worth it. They had everything we needed. To see, touch, sample and discuss with each other (and the staff) was far better than any online or big retail experience.No high pressure sales, but plenty of knowledgeable staff who would show up only when needed. Because they have everything, we added many clothing items and other supplies and extras we wouldnt normally have. But when everything is right there... Its hard not to.They are also an Osprey Pro dealer and that is meaningful if you are into performance gear. Prices are fair and discounts were available. Just ask at the register.The store had only been reopened in the last 3 weeks since pandemic shutdown. It wasnt overcrowded and everyone was respectful of each others space. Masks were normal. People were cool with each other.Thank you Ramsey Outdoor! Cant wait to hit the Appalachian trail!

Have always loved this place, and its still good. BUT, it has always called itself an outdoor store, hunting, fishing, and camping. Basically these days its an outdoor clothing store and a fishing store. If youre an Archer or a bow hunter, go to Davis sports shop. If youre a muzzleloader Hunter, go to Davis sport shop. Ramsey has basically gotten rid of most of its bow hunting supplies and muzzleloader supplies. Sad..

They have a robust supply of outdoor gear. Reasonably priced. The staff is polite and helpful. While they may not have the exotic stuff, they certainly have enough of the essential gear to get what you need done done.

First time here and in thought it was a great store for outdoor supplies and goodies. A wide selection. If things for many outdoor activities. A great place to find things that big box places do not have and a helpful and knowledgeable staff who know more than big box staff would. Worth a visit.

People were nice and informative. Had most of what I was looking for and one that I wasnt. (I havent decided yet.) Some stock was low, but given all that has happened in the last few months, it is to be expected.

Something great happened today. I stopped by one of my favorite stores when I was a kid and it has become one of my favorite again when I went in to buy boot laces and look into getting a fly reel set up. The customer service was awesome. They went out of their way to talk to me help me and point me in the right direction. They answered my questions and some of my question were stupid. They were friendly and polite. I will take my fly reels to get set up there now and am looking to get a nice set of waters for my son. I have to be honest I had my doubts a couple months ago when I went in looking for archery supplies but the customer service today truly changed my mind. A message to the owner and staff of Ramsey Outdoor Store, Good customer service goes a long way, great customer service goes all the way. I may have only bought boot lace today but I will be back for the fly reel and waders tomorrow. Thank you for great customer service!

Been a customer here since the 70s. Consistently great place to buy clothing, sporting goods, etc.! Today I returned a pair of Timberland boots that were just past warranty. Steve (Mgr.?) in the Shoe Dept. made it a breeze. He typifies the kind of experience that keeps customers coming back for life.In fact, Steve made right a problem I had with Timberland Customer Service. A while back Timberland was an outstanding customer-facing outfit. Now they are run by bean-counters who seem to find ways to arrogantly alienate their long-time customers.Steve and Ramsey Outdoor stepped in, made everything right and my day!

It is not a large sports store but they do have allot of things for almost any kind of outdoor activities. Closing and shoes, caping, hiking, fishing, hunting and more. They can also help you with choosing / recommending what you need for your outside adventure. There are not many specialized stores left and you will not find better place to come to for your outdoorsman needs.

I went specifically to buy a firearm and really needed a bit of an education as to what would best suit my needs. I spent more than an hour with Andros who was extremely knowledgeable and very, very patient. I could not have been better served. All of the guys that were behind the counter were friendly and my experience at the store couldnt have been better. The last time I shopped there had to be 15 years ago and as I remember my experience was similar. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Recently purchased a gun from them, everyone in the gun department was very friendly and knowledgeable. They took there time to go over all the pros and cons of the guns, I was considering. I decided on a particularly gun and color. Ron the gun manager was extremely helpful, I put a deposit on the gun and when it came in they called me to pick it up. This is my second gun purchases from Ramsey. I have and will continue to recommend this store.

Great specialty store. Knowledgeable, helpful staff. I use for filling and maintaining my fresh water and salt water fishing reels. Other specialties include hiking, camping, shooting, exercise and various sports.

My family are outdoor enthusiasts, and sons were excited to embark on trout fishing. Experience at Ramsey was so great. These guys get it right, so helpful with giving advice, guiding us in what to use to start out, etc., even went so far as to show us some great areas in the location we had chosen to try out. From helping us get some things to help us start out to getting the licenses, etc. Cant say enough about Ramsey, will be going there for all our outdoor needs and will recommend to all our friends and family. The day you decide to introduce your children to a new outdoor sport is a good day. . .they make it even better. Such an awesome experience! Thanks so much.
