Call around 3 times to ask a simple question if they carried 1/2 steel plate. They never answered, looks like Im taking my business somewhere else.Edit called again, owner apologized and did answer my question, pretty good customer service, I take back what I said.

I originally had an issue with receiving and being charged for the wrong size but they agreed to set it straight and were apologetic about what happened, which has earned them the 5 stars in my book, that is quality service!The store on its is pretty good, there is a good variety of sizes and thicknesses of material, not quite as well with aluminum and stainless as with mild steel however. Also they did not do a great job at labeling the materials, which is partly why I would measure before you grab the materials, or if you have an employee help you have them double check that it is the correct size that you want.Even though there was a mistake with my experience I would certainly purchase material from here again and they have very competitive pricing. Definitely worth taking a look if you havent been here before!

I have been in many times to Metal Mart .Service has been ok for the most part .Went to buy metal for a project and was helped by a employee asked to have some metal cut.Showed the employee the metal I wanted cut.He went to a different area.grabed some metal and cut it to the length I asked for.Problem is the inside diameter was incorrect.Asked him to cut the metal I showed him.He cut the metal I asked for with attitude handed me over twiced the length I asked for and said you Have to Buy 10 feet of it.I was unaware of this and he said nothing of this befor the cut.I will look around for metal purchases from now on.

Very cool place! Nice selection of stuff. Mostly steel but some aluminum and stainless too. Looked like they get a lot of manufacturing remnants and stuff they sell by the pound but they have plenty of new raw material too. They had no problem cutting me several feet of DOM tube from a full length.

The name does not let you down. I was amazed with everything they had. Sierra (sp?) did all she could to help me find what I saught. Max, indeed made sure the service left me with a smile.

Ive bought quite a bit of stuff from Metal Mart over the years, and Ive never had a bad experience shopping there. The prices of items are clearly marked, things are reasonably priced and the guys working there are very helpful and informative. If you are a welder or a metal fabricator, youve got to check out this place!

Been going there since they opened, great place for welding and fabricating parts and pieces; plate steel, tube, angle iron, they have it all, at great prices and incredible service. If youre a welder or fabricator, this is your walmart. Definitely better then the collar guys.

Was in town only for a brief time to do a small project. Very competitive prices, genuinely helpful staff, and good selection of most of what youd need for mostly non-structural projects. Even found some copper for a small inlay of a concrete countertop

Been going there for 5 or 6 years, never a problem, today. Found some steel I could use. Brought it to the counter,( follow this) asked for a sharp to make sure the steel would be ok for my use ( no one stooped me at this point) got the sharply and drew the curve I needed,and to see if I would have extra steel to use ( again no one stooped me) went to buy the steel, and found it to be 48.00?, then they informed me it was stainless steel ( the rack I pulled it from was not marked stainless steel, it was just in a pile on the rack) then they informed me that because I make it with a sharpy, that could not be returned. So I payed for it, and because I cannot weld stainless steel,it was worthless to me, so I gave it and the recept to a customer in the building. At no point was I told it was stainless steel,and I could not use a sharpy on the metal,and the rack I bought it from had no posting, thank you, very much.

Great stock of metal and bolts. Have purchased here many times. The company i work for also makes substantial purchases here. Working on a project and bought 1-20 1x3 to many, tried to return and was told store credit only, even though there is no sign saying anything about returns. I told him I purchase here all the time and my company, he says; What, ive never seen u before, store credit only. If theres one thing for sure, any metal or bolts or bearings that i need in the future, will not be purchased here. After the sale service is just as important as before the sale. Guy behind counter was rather insulting, they are not the only metal supplier in Sacramento. Good way to kill your sales guys. 👏👎🏿

Great source for small quantity steel retail purchases. Prices are quite high on new angle, bar stock etc. But the surplus cutoffs are very reasonable.

Been trying for 4 weeks to get a post and now trying to call the phone gets picked up and all I hear is a lady talking about parker and a dog playing together.. ap cares customer service should be the focus.. the last time I called the lady wouldnt even take a call telling the worker she didnt know when she would go and pick up the posts... horrible customer service

If could give negative stars I would, I came in and purchase 40lbs ($130) of solid stock aluminum, I asked them to cut 6 4 pieces and 6 1.5 pieces, I only received 6 4 pieces and 2 1.5 pieces and a couple of 3 scrap peices, all of the pieces were not even close to straight, there was more than enough material to cut what I needed. If I was informed before cutting up the $130 material I purchased that they are unable to cut what I needed I would have just done it my self. Very unprofessional
