BROUGHT THIS SHOP A 14-BOLT, 9 1/2, SEMI-FLOAT AXLE TO BE REBUILT WITH FRESH RING AND PINION, BEARINGS, AND SEALS.I SPECIFICALLY TOLD THEM THAT I DID NOT WANT ANY CHINESE MADE PARTS AND THAT I WANTED A GM RING AND PINION AND TIMKEN BRAND BEARINGS.A YEAR LATER AFTER HAVING MY REAR DIFFERENTIAL REBUILT BY THIS SHOP, THE CHINESE MADE LOCKER UNIT THAT THEY INSTALLED, BROKE......TURNS OUT, MY ORIGINAL GM LOCKER THAT WAS ORIGINALLY IN MY REAR AXLE IS HIGHLY DESIRABLE IN THE 4X4 ROCK CRAWLER COMMUNITY ; TURNS OUT, THIS SHOP STOLE MY ORIGINAL LOCKER AND PUT A CHINESE MADE LOCKER IN ITS PLACE.WHEN I LOOK AT THE BEFORE AND AFTER PICTURES OF THE AXLE/DIFFERENTIAL, IT IS CLEAR AS DAY THAT THEY SWAPPED OUT MY ORIGINAL GM LOCKER UNIT WITH THE CHEAP MADE IN CHINA PIECE OF GARBAGE THAT THEY PUT IN THERE....WHEN I TRIED TO FIRST ADDRESS THE ISSUE WITH THEM, FIRST THEY WOULD NOT ANSWER NONE OF MY CALLS...AND THEN WHEN THEY FINALLY DID, THEY DENIED EVER CHANGING MY LOCKER UNIT OUT AND THAT I WAS PRETTY MUCH SO BURNT.ALSO, I ASKED THEM TO USE A FELPRO GASKET ON THE DIFFERENTIAL COVER ; A MONTH LATER I HAD A SLOW DRIP COMING OUT OF THE DIFFERENTIAL, SO I TOOK THE COVER OFF AND FOUND OUT THEY NEVER PUT A FELPRO GASKET ON LIKE I REQUESTED AND PAID FOR ; INSTEAD, THEY JUST USED A BEAD OF RTV TO FORM A GASKET...ALSO, THEY USED THE WRONG U-JOINT STRAPS, WHICH LEAD TO VIBRATION THAT I HAD TO PAY ANOTHER SHOP TO FIX THE PROBLEM....AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST, AFTER TAKING THE REAR END COMPLETELY APART AFTER IT FAILED, TURNS OUT THAT THEY DID NOT USE TIMKEN BRAND BEARINGS, AND INSTEAD THEY INSTALLED CHEAP CHINESE MADE BEARINGS INTO MY AXLE/DIFFERENTIAL....SAD....I THOUGHT THESE GUYS WERE STAND UP GUYS, BUT I WAS WRONG...MY ADVICE : STAY THE FU#$ AWAY FROM THESE SCANDALOUS PEOPLE....THEY ARE SOME REAL GRIMEY PEOPLE.
What a scandalous shop ! Think Ill just bring this broken rear-end down to this shop and throw it thru their window !
