This is a really great facility. Laura, the manager is helpful, kind and has been available every time I needed a question answered. Highly recommend if you’re in need of a bit of extra storage space.

Clean facility, quiet, reasonable, recent rate increase.

Extremely secure, clean and super easy to use facility! We have been customers of SoCal Self Storage for years now and are extremely happy with them. The facility is kept extremely clean, has very easy access to the unit, very generous hours of operation and carts are always available to use for moving things between your car and your storage unit. Laura the office manager is just outstanding! She has worked with us over the years helping us find the best storage unit for our ever changing needs (we have moved into many different size units). She has excellent follow up and responds immediately every time we have left messages during non-working hours. I can count on her when I need a response or assistance, which is very important to me. We have dealt with many other storage facilities and this is by far the best....I would recommend them to anyone!

Laura and George at SoCal Self Storage are great. They were professional, flexible, attentive, and friendly from the get go. They helped me determine the best unit size for my needs always keeping in mind my budget constraints. They even had a truck available for my use on move in. The move in and out process was quick and easy. The property itself is clean and secure and if you ever had a question or needed anything the team is always there to assist. I would highly recommend this company for your storage needs.

WARNING! Do not store here. It’s not safe here. They do not honor reservations and this is the worst storage experience I’ve ever had. They do not work to protect your items. Avoid George!! He need training and disciplinary actions. George is rude, unprofessional and I’m shocked and dismayed at how he behaves. Avoid this place if you want to keep your things.He’s behavior boarders sexist and demeaning.

We are in the process of moving. We called almost a month ago to reserve space and their truck. We were told it was all set. So this morning we called just to be nice to let them know we were inbound. What does George say? He says we cant get the truck its already given to someone else. So my wife, naturally freaks out. His response...which was more of a yell, well what do you want me to do about it? You should have called again! Wife can not stop crying so I get on the phone. His voice quickly changed. Im trying to stay calm. I ask him why we lost the reservation. He said we didnt call to verify we were indeed coming as the excuse. I told him we were not told we needed to, being we made a reservation! He said never in his three years of working there had he ever heard of someone renting out up to a month in advance. He said someone else last week to rent the truck. Okay fine...so they dont deal with people who plan? I find that hard to believe. I then asked Well you are a business. You see we reserved it so why didnt you guys reach out to us? You could have said someone else wants the truck for that day are you still wanting it? He then said Why would we do that? He actually yelled that last part. He (again now he is quite angry at me) then asked me what the point of the conversation. I told him make this right some how. He said That is not my position I asked to speak with a manager he said Its Sunday there is no manager I asked him There is nobody ahead of you to speak to?

We have had a unit here for a few years. We appreciate the cleanliness and easy access. When it was time to get a storage unit for my mom, there was no doubt in my mind that we wanted hers here as well. Laura made the process quick and easy. My brother was there when the movers put our moms items into storage, and he was very impressed with SoCal. It was his first time there.

The worst experience with SoCal storage continues to get worse. 22 days after the unprofessional, rude and sexist interaction with George, a manager finally contacted me to tell me I called the wrong place and in times like these bad reviews hurt business. If you treated customers correctly, with respect, didn’t double book over a confirmed reservation and hired professional employees, you wouldn’t get negative reviews in any times. Don’t try to blame covid for your unprofessional failings. Train or hire better employees. Set up a proper booking system. Call to confirm appointments if you’re unsure rather than just assume someone isn’t showing up. You also shouldn’t give out someone else’s person information to an unrelated party. Yes, George also did that.These are basic professional practices that I shouldn’t have to roast you on yelp to implore.Here’s her message verbatim:“Im the Manager at So Cal Self Storage. I would like to extend my apologies for the confusion and follow up on your experience with us and confirm your situation was resolved? Did you end up renting and using the truck at one of our facilities?From my understanding, you contacted the wrong the facility that you thought had your reservation and the reviews that were written for the other facility that was the wrong location can have a very negative impact on that location and in times like these we need your support. May I have your phone number please? Thank you! Laura”And my response:Dear Laura,Your information is mistaken. I contacted the correct facility. George was rude, unprofessional and sexist.He decided that someone who called that week should override my confirmed reservation from 5/4/20 at 4:50pm. He yelled at me, was condescending and in his “three years of working here no one calls a month in advance” but the truck and units book up quickly.He said that the woman I spoke with only works weekdays so her reservation didn’t matter.He also gave me the person who “called last week” and has the truck reservation’s personal information to prove to me that it wasn’t me on the reservation. This is a privacy violation.When my husband called, his tone and demeanor was different but still rude and unprofessional. Sexism is a bad reputation for a company to get.And a “free move in truck” as it says on the back of your truck actually costs about $100 so you might want to make that clear. It’s called false advertising and is illegal.Highly disappointed and keeping the negative review in these times of bad business practices.RegardsJessica.

Staff is very friendly and helpful. Facility and common areas are clean and the unit I rented was clean. The loading area was easy to find and use and elevators are convenient. We had a 2nd floor unit but it was easy to load and unload using the provided carts. We were able to use their truck and it has plenty of room inside. A great experience all around.

What a great experience! I have used SoCal Self Storage numerous times over the last 10 years for periodic storage needs. Laura and the staff there run a very clean operation. Units are spacious, climate controlled and secure. I would highly recommend this facility for any of your storage needs!

So Cal Storage is a great place to store you items. If you are concerned with security, they have indoor units. I was searching for a location and what I liked about SoCal is not only the indoor units but, the cameras, multiple security entrances and something really simple but, useful...Carts!Every time I emailed the manager I received a response within hours or a day.The location is clean and quiet as well.

I highly recommend SoCal Self Storage in Rancho Santa Margarita (RSM) to anyone looking for self storage solutions. They offer an A/C controlled environment with easily accessible dollys throughout their facility, clean elevators and bathrooms. They conveniently have their own moving truck available for rental, too. If you are looking for a safe, friendly and professional storage company, you need not look any further. There is no doubt in my mind... They are the best! 5-STARS+

I have rented storage units from SoCal Self Storage in Rancho Santa Margarita for several years. The facility is conveniently located, well maintained, and the units are indoors. Laura, the manager, is very pleasant and helpful. I have never had any problems with this facility or its staff.

Great self storage location in RSM. Friendly staff made the check in process painless and offered free water during the hot July day. Free dollys were available which negated the need to rent equipment. The facility was always adequately cooled and the large elevator made getting to my second floor space quick and easy. When I no longer needed the storage space checkout was very easy. I just removed all my belongings, removed the lock and alerted the front office that I needed to close my account.Be aware that they do offer free use of their moving truck but only during your initial move in. The truck cant be used to move things out and into the unit during the stay. They do offer you the ability to pay to rent the truck but it was more expensive than a UHaul/Home Depot alternative at ~$40.00 fee + 0.87 cents per mile.

I was unsure what size unit I wanted. Laura was very kind and patient in showing me both size units and their locations. The sign-up process was extremely fast and you dont even walk away with a stack of papers like most places! I was a little anxious about that at first esp since I wasnt receiving my confirmation email but a quick call to Laura and she was able to find and fix the problem in a matter of seconds! Whenever I call SoCal Storage, I speak to Laura and she is consistently very helpful, patient, and courteous. I love that I found this storage place. It is in an extremely convenient location, the units are climate controlled, and there is a restroom inside for customers to use that isnt locked from the outside like at most storage facilities. Laura is amazing and I couldnt be happier with my experience at SoCal Self Storage! This place is exemplary of how all storage facilities should be run! (: Truly a gem!!
