I contacted this business for installation of a SunSetter awning. I had recd the brochures, etc. as well as pricing from SunSetter. I decided to contact Mo Thompson of Shades of Cool for pricing as well as he is the only licensed dealer for SunSetter in this area. Mo came to the house and gave me a bid for the purchase and installation of a twenty foot automated SunSetter awning with LED lights and a wind sensor.The SunSetter folks pricing and Mos pricing were essentially the same. The difference was that SunSetter was willing to throw in items like front and side curtains and a gas grill. I didnt need a gas grill. I asked Mo to come to the house once more and based on his experience, decided to pass on the extras from SunSetter and have him order the awning and install it.His two man installation crew came by last Saturday and installed the awning. It took them about two and one-half hours and I was glad that I didnt try to install it myself. SunSetter says the installation is easy and that they have a video to guide one through the installation. What I realized as the guys were installing the awning is that if the board to which they are attaching the brackets is are not level or the soffit is not level, installation can be complicated. In my case, I had ordered the aluminum cover but ended up passing on it as it wouldnt fit given some problems with the soffit. The installers were very professional and polite and willing to answer all the questions that I had for them.I can recommend Shades of Cool without any reservations. For those buying a SunSetter awning, I strongly recommend the motorized version with the LED lighting and wind sensor. Unless you really need side and front shades, pass on them as they are a pain to hang each time. Also, pass on the patio lights as you have to hang them each time.
