I can only wish the review I am about to write was/is going to be as wonderful as the beginning of my experience was with Redmond, Oregon/Homes Direct was. I met with multiple people and companies before I settled on working with the gentleman who was so helpful and fun in the beginning of my experience. He was fantastic. Charming. Funny. Accommodating. Gave great suggestions. Answered my calls. Texts. And emails. Somebody I even said “I could be friends with and invite him to my housewarming party.” However, as stated above, that was the beginning of my experience. Once my home got ordered and I paid the company it became a fiasco, especially once delivered. That is when the lack of communication, no replies to phone calls/texts took place. My flooring didn’t arrive with the delivery of the house. Homes Direct tried to insinuate that somebody came on my property and took it out of the home. Once the home was delivered there were many many mishaps. I have notes, texts, emails, voicemails and all of the documentation. Listing all of the headaches with this review would just become a migraine.I sent out an email yesterday to my sales person and the manager of the Redmond branch. Letting them know I have now officially been in the home for one year and I am still waiting to get projects fixed, that is clearly stated in your paperwork that you sign, there will be a walk-through.I have heard nothing from either one of them.. As I read on a blog while I was doing all of my research on manufactured homes before buying, a gentleman/blogger stated, “ there is a reason why manufactured sales people/managers are known to be so crooked, they’ve given themselves this reputation.” I truly thought my sales person was so different. He was such a helpful gem. A true joy.We have significant cracks outside of the home. Unfinished carpentry work in our master closet. Huge gaps in the shower grout, we fixed that ourselves because it was going to ruin the sheet rock. There is a huge crack on our kitchen counter. My sales person actually said, “You’re planning on doing concrete countertops what does it matter?” WHAT? Are you kidding me?Beware. They’re great in the beginning but once your home is in place, good luck. You will be reaching out nonstop only to be crookedly ignored. Literally. Ignored.I thought is the lesser of allmybusiness was going to be conducting themselves. I can only imagine what they do when nobody is looking.
At first we were so happy with the service we received while placing the order for our home. But we are going on 2 months over the estimated date of completion with no information as to when it will be completed or delivered. The lack of communication is absolutely frustrating. That on top of not being able to know where it is at in the production process makes me even more suspect if we will even be receiving our home in the next couple of months. We feel trapped and at a loss right now with no help from the people at Homes Direct in Redmond.
Showed up 30min early to the Redmond location because that’s the only time I had to do it with both my kids. Was met by someone outside with a bad attitude and was told they were not open. I’m a cash buyer and unfortunately these people don’t have a great attitude so I’ll be going somewhere else.
Terrible experience at the Redmond location thus far. Gail at the Albany location has been a great and has offered suggestions and help.
I worked with Homes Direct to personally create my beautiful Palm Harbor home. Unlike dealers in my area in Idaho, Homes Direct was willing to customize my home for me. The home is nicely built and very sound. You wont feel like youre living in a manufactured home. There were a few minor unfinished areas, but have been promptly addressed by Norm. The home took about 6 weeks longer to be finished then the average quoted timeline, so be prepared for it to take more time. Still the home is beautiful, unique and Im very pleased.
Norm was great! Im so glad I found him, he was super helpful, took his time to walk me through all of my options and then followed through with me until the very end of final delivery. If I ever need to buy another manufactured home, I would DEFINITELY go to Norm again. I highly recommend him and Homes Direct in Redmond! Great prices too!
I drove over from Portland this morning for an 11 a.m. appointment, only to be stood up. I had an appointment with Norm, who is also the sales manager. Not showing up for an appointment is extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. Id also like to add that I took my business right next door to Central Homes and bought our new home.
Complete Fiasco. BUYER BEWARE!! We ordered our double wide manufactured home on September 10, 2019. This was supposed to be our forever dream home. The 1st half of home was delivered December 16, 2019. The 2nd 1/2 of the home was delivered December 30th. Upon inspection we found that there were MAJOR design flaws; wrong countertop throughout the house, an additional wall placement in the kitchen, and shoddy texture and paint work. Employees were quick to make promises to fix issues.Progress on our end was slowed by COVID-19 so the electricity, water, sewer hookups were not completed until April 13th. We were then informed by Norm at Homes Direct that they had hired a general contractor to repair the issues in order to get our house move-in ready. Eldon was the 1st general contractor on the scene. He was a super nice fella who did superior work. Within 2 weeks he informed us that he was not going to be returning to the site as Homes Direct was refusing to pay him for his services (which we as humans completely understand- he needs to feed his family too!). Ten days later, a new general contractor, John, was hired to continue with the necessary fixes including contertop installment, cupboard installment, laminate flooring and carpet installment. As of 5/16/20 we received a message from John explaining the exact same frustration that the frst contractor had. Homes Direct not following through with paying him for his services. All we want is for this nightmare to be over and to move in to our COMPLETED home! Please get with the program Homes Direct!
